The location is awesome, very close to the beach, downtown and shopping. The owner was very helpful as well. Our Wifi wasn’t working and I needed it to work for a business call, he was able to provide me with another connection that worked perfectly. So greatly appreciated 🙏

I was hoping for an oversized office chair to go with the awesome desk for my meetings. The chair provided was very uncomfortable. The beds were a bit hard, but ok for a couple nights.

It was well situated to downtown

It was extremely expensive for what you got!! Extremely noisy air conditioner, no comforter on the beds, no proper cutlery, no glassware, the fridge froze all of our food. It was over $300 a night and was not worth the money at all. Too expensive for what you got.

Location to downtown Goderich. Good parking. Internet. Outside grounds and flowers nice. Lots of quality pillows and bed comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.

Poor quality finishings in the room. A 2-star stay but at 3-star pricing. Worth $120 per night not $180 per night. Could be better if rooms were updated with updated, quality decorating and finishing. Great beach but costs $7 per hour to park or $35 per day. Yikes!

Lovely stay. The owners were really nice and friendly. We felt at home. The room was comfortable and very clean. Convenient and close to everywhere. Beautiful garden and flowers pots around the property. Absolutely charming.

So terrible unbelievable. Everything is ancient and in poor condition. A/C not working. Morning rime shower had only cold water. Very small and bad inside the room. Spiders in the seal room.

The staff and location are great

The desk was broken, so unless your a very tall person it was useless. I had to do a zoom meeting and kept getting booted out because the internet is very poor. The towels smelled musty, the beds are rock hard, pillowcases and sheets are very yellow and should be replaced. Used hair ties and Bobbie pins left on the blanket shelf.

The room need some maintenance and upkeep. Plus also need outdoor maitenance.

Great stay at reasonable price. the drive to point farm pp is easy and only 5min.

It was really clean and tidy. Bed was comfy and everything was good. We will be back there again. So handy for shops and Restaurants down in Goderich square area. Good place to stay.

Was a very nice stay. Staff was so friendly. Place was very clean. Its not fancy but was very quaint and quiet. Was close to restaurants and shopping. Would definitely recommend to anyone and we would personally go there again. Truly a wonderful experience.

This is a very basic motel. It was clean, but the furniture was dated. My unit had a kitchenette that looked like it had never been used. The wifi didn't work either. However, the manager let me back into my room after check out at 8 AM because I forgot something, so that was very nice of him.

Didn't like the smell of the room. We used a body spray to cover the scent. It might have been the smell of the cleaning chemicals.

Staff were very accommodating of our late arrival and helping us manoeuvre into a parking spot. Room very clean. Air conditioner worked well on a hot July night. Modern facilities, including fridge, kettle, and microwave in room.

We had a pleasant experience at the maple leaf. Greeted very politely by the owner. However, the microwave wasn't working and that made us have cold food as it was 11:30 already. Otherwise, would recommend the place.

When I read other people's positive reviews about the Maple Leaf Motel in Goderich, I feel like I'm in an alternate universe. On Friday, June 27, 2025, we arrived at our prebooking and we paid $224.97 for the overnight accommodation. Online it was promoted for $149. We were tired and since the motel had a 4.7 rating online, we felt certain it would be a pleasant overnight stay. We were completely wrong. In my opinion, the room was small with an overall shabby impression. There was only one semi-comfortable chair. There was one bedside table containing a lamp and a small plastic fan with some type of black residue on the blades. The baseboards were not clean. The kitchen area was tiny and the coffee pot and kettle were not clean. The mugs (no glasses) and coffee supplies looked haphazard. We never used anything in the kitchen. It was a hot 30 degrees C outside so we turned on the hard-to-reach (or read) air conditioner. It didn't appear to be working until we discovered that the baseboard heater was set for 75 degrees F. What happened to prepping the room for guests? The TV was pretty much useless. One remote contained enticing buttons like Netflix, Crave, Disney, etc. Unfortunately none of the buttons worked. I tried to contact the office by phone (as per the instructions) but the phone was dead. I went to the office and the attendant came to the room, fiddled with the black box, and handed me the other remote, stating there were a few channels. Shortly thereafter, we gave up and turned the TV off. We slept badly and quickly left before 8 the next morning. To state the obvious, we will not be returning to the Maple Leaf Motel in Goderich.

Very tidy and clean. Great to have fridge. Lighting in room was good. Staff very friendly and when had problem, owner came very quickly.

It was within walking distance to everything. Our room was fully stocked & clean.

There were no staff present. Upon checking in at 4pm on Saturday, we had to call a cell phone number that was posted on the door of the office. Our check out was the same situation. Also, the method of taking credit card information needs to be updated and more secure.

I am a bit concerned when I was asked by hotel front desk to write down my credit card number on a piece of paper, while I already provided this info while booking online. There is a risk of credit card being stolen or fraudulent. I don’t think it is right for hotel to write down customer credit card numbers when customers make the payment on site using credit card.pls investigate and advise. Thank you

Clean, affordable, quiet and close to everything. Really, it was everything we were looking for. Management is very nice and accommodating. Perfect for our road trip.

This is a lovely little motel. My husband and I have stayed at many hotels and motels and we really appreciate the little thoughtful amenities..The room was spotless..The owners have thought of a lot of little things: a separate freezer for the fridge a kettle,very high quality mirror and lighting, a little night light inthe bathroom, good quality blinds, , two high quality blankets, etc. A lot of pride in ownership !

The lights in the bedroom area were a little bit too bright. There could have been more of a selection of dishes in the kitchen possibly some wine glasses would be nice. The light for the kitchen was at the front door, which was very strange.

Room #11 needs some work and updating. You need to put covers on the outlets this is a safety problem. Bath tub is very slippery. Gentleman thst checked us in was very nice!

I’m honestly impressed with the property—it really checks all the boxes! First off, it's super hygienic and neat, which is always a top priority for me. Then, there’s the tech side of things. The table adjusts at the push of a button, and the mirror has electronic controls. Pretty cool, right? The cherry on top is the location—it’s just a few minutes' walk from the main circle, so it’s incredibly convenient. It really has everything you'd need for a comfortable stay.

The location is great, a short walking distance to the Square where there are many eating places. Staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived late afternoon on a Sunday and Iqbal, the manager/owner informed us that most restaurants close at 7 on Sundays. That was good to know.

There was a smell of urine from the floor mat, but it was replaced once we told the staff about it, and our room smelled better.

The location made it easy to walk to the square and visitor center. I appreciated the owner seeking me out to ask if there was anything I needed! That doesn’t happen at a major chain!! I felt very safe and taken care of during my stay, and having my car just next to my room door was convenient. It was a pleasure to stay in this family-run motel, which was great value and CLEAN. It was a wonderful stay.

The front desk staff is only on site for short periods of time. She was very pleasant and helpful but not present. On our second day we couldn’t get in our room. Our keys were somehow deactivated. We went to the front desk but it was closed. We tried to call the phone number on the sign but it went to voicemail and we were not able to leave a message. She showed up shortly after and fixed our keys but we were panicking as all our belongings were in our room and we couldn’t get in. I’ve never stayed anywhere where there is not someone on site at all times.

It was a nice stay our for family. Plain , simple, clean. There are couple of extra cool features that you usually don't expect to find in the motel room: office desk with adjustable height, alarm clock with wireless charger and turn-on-touch lamp, heated mirror in the bathroom and several more :) .

The beds were really hard, we both woke up with aching bodies, the beds in room 7 aren’t very comfortable. When it was check out day we felt very rushed, as housekeeping came to the door at 9:45 for housekeeping and check out is 11:00. That was a first for us!

Old and many things that seemed not to code. Several outlets without covers, several outlet with multiple cords plugged in. Not as updated as I expected. Noisy between rooms and street outside. Disgusting coffee pot in the room. No fridge. Mismatched furniture and decor.
