Very central and close to Convention Centre. Overall good value for money.
Would have preferred a King bed and a Nespresso coffee machine. Air-conditioning was set to 25C and we were unable to lower the temperature.
Location, breakfast, bar and staff
The property is clean and elegant; the rooms are well appointed, and the breakfast is delicious. The staff was extremely kind and went out of their way to help us. We truly appreciated how friendly and helpful each person was, from breakfast to the lobby and guest relations.
No hair ties or wipes to clean equipment in the exercise room.
Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Walking distance to V&A Waterfront but also good to take the free hotel shuttle.
The staff are the absolute best.

Nothing really
The property is beautifully kept. A grand property kept spotless. The staff are exceptional and genuinely care about the customer experience. The stay exceeded our expectations and is one of our most memorable.
Location was excellent and we enjoyed using the shuttle bus to/from the V&A waterfront. This service was extremely convenient. Our girls enjoyed using the heated swimming pool and we enjoyed drinks on the courtyard terrace. Breakfasts was a buffet but staff had good understanding of gluten and cross-contamination for my coeliac daughter. Leigh, in customer relations was excellent and extremely accommodating with any of our requests. 10/10!
While the parking was only R60/night, this should be a free service for those already paying to stay at the hotel. The hotel puts out treats and sweets in the lobby every afternoon for guest to enjoy but these NEED to be marked with any allergens. I don't think it is difficult to consult the packaging and mention the allergens (on a small card) next to the bowls/jars of sweets/treats, similar to their breakfast buffet.
The aircon did not work, the room was 27'C. we reported it 3 times and still did not work. It was impossible to sleep.
Location
The room was too squeezed for 2 adults and 1 room. They did not cater for additional milk, water and tea, even towel. Each day I had to call to order extra water tea and milk. This was a bit disappointing. Some of the staff were not welcoming at all. One day I was in a rush and instead of taking the lemon water at the entrance in a glass I decided to fill my 300ml half with it. One of the staff immediately came up to me this was not allowed and not to do it in the future, he was so rude. I was shocked by this comment. Breakfast was repetitive everyday- no change at all.
Love the location, the design of the hotel.
Poor house keeping. The room was only cleaned after 3pm in the afternoon. The staff at reception did not have a great response when I queried this. I returned to the reception x3 times for a suitable response. Very frustrating.
The food was good everything was fantastic. I'm definitely coming back.
The property was beautiful, very clean, exceptional touches such as a pianist at breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Nothing
La gentillesse du personnel. Les petites attentions comme les bonbons à 15h à notre retour . La qualité du petit déjeuner accompagnée de son pianiste.
Pas de prise dans la salle de bain. Des courants d’air au niveau de la fenêtre.
The staff was amazing, all the staff. Veronica, Leigh, the lady with the yellow afro that gave my son the teddy 🧸... It was an amazing experience. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing and well worth it. The spa was lovely and the staff was friendly. It was a really good experience overall.
The beds were soft and needs to be turned or flipped. The cafe/bar took very long with our order when we dined in the bar and when we ordered room service. When I tried to check in at the reception, my booking number was allocated by one of the staff to another guest name. We waited a few minutes for them to correct it and when they did, they allocated us the wrong room then had to wait for them to fix the room.
L’hôtel est magnifique Petit déjeuner buffet super Personnel très sympathique et aux petits soins de ses clients Navette gratuite pour se rendre à waterfront Abords de l’hôtel sécurisé

Friendly staff, good breakfast and food menu.
Parking and no luggage assistance
Staff and hotel
I understand you have the All Blacks staying there and security is more intense, but having to move the fence myself was a little irritating, especially when I have carrying a laptop and other things.
The property is located at a walking distance from V& A waterfront. There is a shuttle service every hour to and from the waterfront. Beautiful lobby where snacks (nuts, popcorn, pretzels, etc) are served every afternoon. The staff is fantastic, always ready to help with anything a guest needs or making arrangements for taxis, tours, restaurants reservations and such. The breakfast is an elaborate affair from cereals to custom omelets and everything in between. A talented pianist provides a lovely ambience at breakfast and in the afternoon in the lobby. The attached spa is a bonus and the professionals there take great care ti make the spa visit enjoyable
Nothing
The location is superb with sufficient parking inside the building. We had lunch at the Peachtree restutuarant within the hotel. It was a sunday buffet lunch. The food was really tasty fresh and simply delightful. The wine list was fairly exclusive as you would expect of a 4 star hotel. A lot more finess and training is required for the staff as they were simply not up to standard with simple fine dining etiquette. I asked on mumerous occasions to keep the drinks flowing, though I eventually had to take matters or bottles into my own hands. The water was in refillable bottles and I would have preffered a choice of bottled water for the table though this was not offered upfront. Management lady was grumpy and staff muttering under their voices made us feel less welcome. The service at the front desk reception was of a betterb standard and I was helped efficiently with my R300 parking bill for 6 cars. In other establishments this would have been complimentary considering the size of our party. I make these points only to help the team to improve as the food was good enough to get them over the finish line. Noise levels were also good and the live pianist was really great. Well done Chef!
This is my 3rd time in Cape Town and by far my best experience in the city so far. Apart from the cleanliness and great condition of the facilities, this hoteş has a special way of taking care of their guests. Special thanks to Veronica and Abubakr at the desk and the rest of the crew for their outstanding hospitality and support.
La propreté, le calme, le petit déjeuner exceptionnel.
Shop around. Decent location but need to uber to most restaurants. Service is so friendly and welcoming. Rooms beautiful. That's it. Most uncomfortable beds. Stayed in places half the price that were more comfortable. Then at 1230 am could hear hallway noises. Two men in suits checking door handles randomly. Luckily, out kids' room was adjoining but I watch from peephole. Would stay again if price was competitive and best option but be mindful of these issues. Would give 4 stars but the 1230 doorknob check is a dealbreaker.

staff very friendly and helpful

- Bel hôtel - Bon emplacement - Service impeccable ++++ - Bon petit déjeuner
Very pleasant experience warm service by Marcelino Well done
This was the perfect place to stay for my conference in June. Beautifully appointed, excellent food (the breakfast is AMAZING) and the staff is skilled and helpful. The room was perfect -- large enough to exist for a long conference with my spouse. There is a historic "grand" hotel sense to this place and I highly recommend it.
Wooow! This hotel blows my mind all the time. Great and seamless check in. The rooms are out of this world great! Service is A1. Wonderful staff and clean well organised hotel. 100% going back there again and again.
Gostei do quarto, Bar, fecha até tarde..

I had a superb stay at the Cullinan for 1 night. I stayed over to miss the morning traffic into town for Cape Town marathon. I can 100 percent recommend this hotel. They really paid attention and made the athletes’ stay so special. All of us received a welcome letter in a goodie bag with energy gel, sports massage gel and bath salts which I thought was a nice touch. Their service was superb! They organized a grab and go breakfast for the athletes as well as an additional shuttle. I requested a kettle in the room to make my porridge (which was in the room already) but a microwave was also brought to my room without me asking for it. The beds are very comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep. The room was immaculately clean and reception staff friendly and very helpful. They were very understanding about our check out situation as it was unlikely that any of the athletes could be back at the hotel by checkout time. I applaud your wonderful team and looking forward to my next visit.
Location is convenient to many locations in waterfront. The whole atmosphere is cozy and elegant. Room is clean and comfortable. Especially thanks to Junaid and Veronica, it’s extremely nice of them to assist us to solve booking issues. Will defo recommend this if I would travel to cape town next time.
Breakfast
Staff was unfriendly and no one offered to help woth luggage. In fact when I pulled up at Hotel I was asked to move as shuttles take preference
The lady who helped check us in, loved her.

Beautiful hotel, excellent breakfast. Location worked for our family. Overall good experience.
Great people and great food I was served well and professionally by Veronica and Lethokuhle
The suite that we upgraded to was large and comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary drink and snacks at the end of each day and liked the staff.
Recepção simpática, acomodação excelente e altamente confortável.
Tive um problema com a geleira no primeiro quarto. Mas foi resolvido prontamente.
All
I had stayed there once before with my teenage daughter and wanted to get back “one day”. The one day arrived and I stayed with my daughter and her two daughters. It was soooo nice. Long may the family tradition continue…(the grandlambs LOVED the free cups of sweets available) 🤦🏻♂️
Free sweets 🤪
Excellent service, warm personnels. Loved every bit of our stay.
A very nice hotel, with higher end design, and lots of amenities. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and well appointed. We did have some maintenance problems, but they were resolved very quickly by the staff. The bad is the wifi is extremely spotty (keeps dropping out), and the breakfast, although extensive is lukewarm, and service is nearly non-existent when busy.
Wonderful service, clean, excellent food
Il materasso, staff bar.
Spa senza anima
The facilities and staff. Good location.
Not enough kids food on the menu.
High-fives all around to The Cullinan. My standard room was consistently clean and spacious, the facilities were top-notch, and the staff were lovely. A special shout-out to Veronica in particular, who treated me like an old friend every morning and was happy to go the extra mile for anything. I even had a birthday cake left in my room as a pleasant surprise! I normally come down to Cape Town once a year for the Comic-Con convention, and I’ll definitely be staying at The Cullinan again next year.
Veronica made my day from arrival to exit. Hotel was seamless and we had a good value for money stay. Would have loved a vanity pack in the room, beach water sands and ear buds go in hand. Next visit to he leisure not business.
The staff was attentive and tended to every need.
I liked how central and well maintained the Hotel is. Their staff is quite friendly and the beds really comfy. Bathroom was well equiped and the shower fantastic! The Hotel was super full due to soccer and rugby being hosted in the city and a lot of teams staying in the Hitel, but we never heard any noise - so I guess the rooms are quite soundproof. Breakfast and dinnet were very good as well the Hotel Spa. Loved the weekend stay there!
We were 3 adults staying in a double room, but they only provided for two all the time. We had to phone reception about 10 times all together to ask for extra towels, water, coffee, mug and glass. They supplied the extras on the first night, then took everything away the next morning and from there on we had to ask for the same thing over and over and over. This was the only annoying part of our otherwise wonderful weekend.

Absolutely everything was spectacular. The staff, service excellence, warmth and professionalism was amazing. Everyone was super attentive and added beautiful touches for my birthday celebration this week. The food was beautiful and drinks at Stella. I cannot over emphasise what an amazing hotel this is, because each staff member goes over and beyond the call of duty. Hester, Mark, Shaun - just to mention a few were exceptional but every team member, just excellent. The spa treatments at Mangwanani were beautiful. My family truly felt at home and had an amazing time
There is no feedback here as everything was spectacular!
Everything was amazing. Room comfortable, staff welcoming and friendly. Good food at the restaurant and lovely spa treatment. Pool heated which was perfect for an Autumn swim for the kids
Nothing, everything was great
Booked the junior suite, very classy, warm atmosphere, comfortable bed and pillows.excellent service.
We got upgraded to a suite because of my needs they put me in an accessible room which wasn't a premium room like the rest of the family had because our travel agent had to move us to a different hotel. However the accessible room wasn't what we were expecting so we complained a lovely person called Edward moved us up to a suite.
Fantastic staff. Beautiful hotel. Thank you to Shaun, Veronica, and Serina for a lovely stay.
Close to the CTICC
The climate inside the hotel was set on hot! It was cold outside but a public place should be neutral. It was actually really terribly unpleasant. When I complained the staff at front desk looked surprised and irritated. The things in my room were not working. Telephone issues, one light out, the air conditioner panel shone a glow at night keeping me awake but the couldn’t fix it. They do not serve a mimosa….
When we first entered the hotel, the lobby felt fabulous. The check-in process was quick and smooth. We had booked the base category room which was very small. So we upgraded our room to the next category and the room was big and with all good amenities. The location of the hotel was very nice, close to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront. We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The hotel has a free shuttle service to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront. We had taken the shuttle during our stay. it was very convenient. The hotel breakfast was very good and the room service menu too was good with lots of healthy options. The stay in the hotel was very comfortable and very convenient. The behaviour of the staff was very helpful. The hotel swimming pool was small in size and they also had spa facility. We had good time and made good memories at the hotel.
Sonwabise and Veronica were absolute stars at check-in! 10/10 🤗
Great service and reception by Veronica and Sowabise. Love the friendliness and hospitality.
Great, clean hotel with exceptional service! Central location if you travelling for work.
Konke at the reception was such a great help we had such a nice time
Before I back the title, I just want to talk a little bit about this Hotel. The Cullinan is a stunning hotel in a great location. The hotel is beautiful inside and out with a gorgeous pool. The pool is warm and open till 7pm. The hotel is clean and spacious and our room was lovely. The room is cleaned every day and they even come in the evening to close the curtains, do the bedding and leave you some chocolate. Nothing is ever too much, we were constantly calling for more water bottles or towels and they were always delivered quickly. The hotel has a shuttle bus that leaves every hour to go to the Waterfront which is 5 mins away. There are always sweets in the afternoon in the reception and fresh lemon water and juice and cold towels to freshen up when you come from outside. Breakfast was outstanding with so many different options! Now to talk about the staff. The staff are absolutely amazing and are a real asset to this Hotel. Everyone is so helpful and accommodating They will go out of their way to make sure you have exactly what you need. I would like to mention a few special people and would be grateful if you could convey our thanks to them! Chad - the lovely pianist, he played all of our requests and always took some time to speak to us during breakfast. We are looking forward to seeing him play at the Royal Albert some day! AbuBakr in reception - my husband struck a friendship with him and he always made him smile. AbuBakr was super sweet and so helpful. Junaid and Sonwabise were so funny and always made us laugh! We discussed football with them every time we saw them and Junaid was so helpful in keeping us safe when we wanted to wonder the streets by ourselves! Sonwabise always had the most warmest smile. Aakifah (trainee chef) - my husband had some stomach problems for a couple of days and she was always so helpful and provided us with bananas for him and would make him special granola. All the above and the rest of the staff made our stay so special, they made us feel safe and comfortable and we would 100% come back to this Hotel again! I would highly recommend the Cullinan to anyone looking to stay in Capetown - it truly takes a piece of your heart.
