Nice clean rooms, quiet and comfortable. Easy and secure underground parking. Shuttle bus to Waterfront runs on time and easy to use. Great breakfast. Gym is small but equipment new.

Although it’s called ‘Waterfront’ it’s surrounded by some pretty big multi-lane highways which make the shuttle a better option than walking

The dinner at the restaurant was awful. My mom could have cooked a better dinner than the restaurant chef. I only had dinner once and I was not impressed.

I really enjoyed the breakfast, and the staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout my stay.

The pillows were extremely disappointing. They provided very little support and went completely flat during the night, to the point where I felt like I was sleeping without a pillow. I had to use three pillows just to get a reasonable level of comfort.

Unfriendly staff, stayed for weekend staycation and staff made us feel so uncomfortable, unhelpful at checkin, porters and security to busy with own conversations, seems the hotel is geared only for foreign guests and tour groups. Beds were old and squeaky terrible pillows, noisy plumbing everytime room next door or above flushes or showers, really poor sound insulation. Breakfast very basic and again the most unfriendly staff, compare to other similar hotels in the cbd

The room is very basic, minimal basic amenities: only shampoo, body wash, lotion and shower cap. Nothing else. Definitely not 4* hotel. Rooms are very old, very tired looking. Holidays Inns are better than this.

Niente di importante ma una cosa la vorrei evidenziare. Una mattina a colazione, dopo aver dato il numero della camera per accedere alla sala una ragazza del personale mi ha detto che non potevo recarmi in pigiama. Aldilà dell'effetto comico che, in fondo ha fatto ridere anche me, mi sembra una grave pecca da parte del personale scambiare un abbigliamento decoroso con pantaloni in seta per un pigiama. Un azzardo se si considera anche l'internazionalità di questo tipo di hotel. Non nascondo che io mi sia anche sentita offesa.

This is an excellent hotel with well-furnished rooms, complimentary bottled water, and thoughtful sundries. The staff is incredibly pleasant and helpful. Best of all, the hotel offers a highly convenient shuttle to the V&A Waterfront and mall. Can’t emphasize enough, use the free shuttle. Because of the high local crime rate, we were warned not to walk to the waterfront, despite the short distance. Unfortunately, before we received this advice, a member of our travel group had her necklace snatched while walking to view the sunset at the harbor. Another member experienced an attempted theft when someone reached into their taxi to grab a mobile phone.

The location

The carpet in the room was stuffy. The non smoking room had cigarette smells through the extractor . The bathroom is very outdated.

The room is with two double beds!

The room is not spacious and for the bathroom, there is no hand shower!

The staff at Southern Sun Waterfront were absolutely wonderful — friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. However, we were a little disappointed with the breakfast, which felt quite basic for a hotel of this level, and the furniture in the rooms was noticeably dated and in need of an upgrade. The WiFi was also very weak and unreliable, which was frustrating especially when traveling with family. Overall a decent stay thanks to the great team, but the property itself has room for improvement.

The location is excellent and very convenient for exploring Cape Town. The complimentary shuttle service was a huge plus and made getting around much easier. The staff were exceptionally polite, friendly, and always willing to help. The spa was superb and one of the highlights of our stay. We also appreciated the special eggless birthday cake arranged for my husband, which made our celebration even more memorable.

The family room was quite small for our family and felt a little cramped. The breakfast was good, but it would be even better with a wider variety of options.

Excelente ubicación, desayuno muy rico, habitación cómoda y muy limpia. El personal de housekeeping fue excelente: muy atentas, limpiaban temprano, rápido y dejaban todo impecable

Llegué a las 6:00 a. m. después de un viaje de más de 26 horas desde Panamá y no me concedieron el early check-in, por lo que tuve que esperar hasta las 2:00 p. m. para ingresar. Incluso ofrecí pagar la noche anterior para poder acceder antes, pero no fue posible. Además, aunque el personal fue amable, en algunas situaciones sentí poca empatía y disposición para ayudar.

The warmth of the team was absolutely exceptional especially Aziza and Siboniso at the reception these really went the extra mile to support. Celimpilo at the restaurant really showed such kindness and hospitality. The ladies at the breakfast buffet, Baby girl, Khanyi and Mary Anne have such authentic warmth and joy and you have to taste the yummy omelette prepared with lots of love by Mary Anne…. This was such a beautiful experience

Old hotel, cigarrete smell on the entire 9th floor, tiny fitness centre, mould in the shower. The AC light kept me awake at hight.

The stay was fine. Breakfast is nice. Room service menu is a bit limited. Horrible WiFi connection. That is very surprising. Extremely small gym. Small amount of equipments. 7 people were hardly fitting. Others were coming and going away. Such a small gym for a big hotel is a shame.

Kuvien perusteella vaikutti että hotelli olisi hieman hienompi. Sisäuima-allasta ei ollut ja kuntosali oli todella pieni.

The breakfast was very mediocre, I prefer the Cape Sun Southern Sun, the breakfast is the best, the room meets every expectation. The breakfast at the southern sun waterfront was extremely limited, had to wait to long for our order and the hotel was not even that full. the selection on the breakfast table was very limited.

I went with my sister, both our families shared different room. Both her bathroom and my bathroom had nails creeping out at the entrance of the bathroom. Both our daughters stepped in to the sharp nail, my sister was reimbursed, my complained just went unnoticed, i wont ever frequent this hotel again or recommend it to family and friends.

We checked in on May 14 and we asked the clerk who helped us if we can stay in the same room after the two days that we have booked because we are staying for an extra four days with a tour company and that it would be much better if we didn’t have to pack and check out and then wait for another room to be ready. The clerk said we can stay in the same room. We asked if there was extra charge and he said no. So we were happy. I would have given them an excellent review except we got a phone call on the 16 th while we were out sightseeing seeing. They told us we had to check out of our room and go to another room because our tour group had booked an inferior room to the one I had booked. So we had to leave our group of friends in the middle of our sightseeing and rush back and packed like mad in order to get checked out. I was ok to checkout and go to another room if they had given me the correct information but this interruption during our outing left me with a really bad taste.

Hotel staff is incredibly friendly and the property is very clean however a few very disappointing things: 1. Our room while cleaned was not properly setup. No water bottles, no conditioner, towels for one person only. 2. No outlets in the bathroom 3. Electric outlets inky at one of the nightstands next to the bed 4. No rack for a suitcase in the room 5. When brought up the amenities were not what I expected. The body wash and shampoo were 99% water, generated no suds and the conditioner while thick to come out of the bottle, had no body once put in my hair, again to high a water content. Solving simple things like the amenities in the room would clearly give it 4 stars.

Rooms too old and need refurbishment, the establishment needs to spend money to upgrade. It was disappointing to see lack thereof.

Its not really kid friendly. No activities, especially during a weekend like "two oceans". Also the person who was cleaning my room did not check behind the curtains. There were old forks and knives probably from a prior visit.
