The room was clean and the bed comfy. The staff were slow to welcome us but it was busy in the restaurant to be fair to them. We did have some issues with parking, it should not be listed that parking is available there as you have to pay for a public car park which is a few minutes walk away - we arrived late with heavy luggage which made this a challenge. If you need close parking, have mobility or accessibility needs, I don't recommend it. The location was good, in the centre of town,

No parking available on-site. Public car park nearby but is not reimbursed by the foundry. It felt misleading that the property had listed it on their Booking.com page.

We were 2 sharing a twin room. Only 1 chair! No luggage stand. No water in room. Bar closed very early.

The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was very good. Breakfast was excellent. I had a meal in the restaurant one night and it was really good.

The staff were not particularly friendly. I was a solo traveller staying for 3 nights and could have done with a bit more friendliness from the staff. I was worried about the 'locking the doors at 10' situation as I knew I would be out later one night but the key pass worked OK. It was noisy in the early morning from delivery lorries to the shops behind the hotel.

Location awful. Vans and lorries unloading under window on and off from 4.30am meant getting a good sleep was impossible. Unless you are a sound sleeper I would look elsewhere.

The Room itself was horribly small and the window opened out on the smoking patio : It was claustrophobic and dingy - had the feel a converted airing cupboard .

Everything went well from the warm welcome received on arrival, the cleanliness of the room and the facilities therein.

The only downside was an empty water bottle in the drawer under the bed and my bacon was a bit dry.

Rooms were lovely and clean. Bed was very comfortable.

Street noise and music were really loud. Bottles being emptied into recycling outside. Finally quiet about 2.30am.

Shower wasn’t the most powerful and the room was small for £130 a night. Also was only given 1 towel and there were 2 of us

Liegt sehr zentral im netten Städtchen Penrith, wir haben auf dem Rückweg aus Schottland hier übernachtet. Das Personal war super nett, das Zimmer geräumig, hatte Klimaanlage und ein gemütliches Bett. Man kann vor Ort essen, es gibt fußläufig aber auch zahlreiche andere Optionen. Das Frühstück haben wir erst vor Ort spontan hinzugebucht. Das war eine sehr gute Entscheidung. Man konnte auswählen, was genau man haben wollte und es war sehr lecker!

Air conditioned room, well appointed, supremely clean. Good breakfast choice; poached eggs just right (runny but not snotty! :-) )

Owners so helpful carrying luggage up. Single Room exactly as the photos. Bed really comfy and linen great quality. Aircon in the room. Tower fan, ironing board and iron in cupboard. Hairdryer. Great towels and shower room well appointed especially demisting mirror. Bistro excellent choice in food and chicken kebab on hanger, delicious. Wine very good price. Slept better than i do at home. Breakfast great choice and a lovely quality. Full English kept me going until teatime. Internet fine for working from a laptop.

I had a bit of trouble finding it. It's next door to the Spar shop. If your mobility is not good there are a few steps over the 3 floors, but can't really fault the place. Don't want to rave too much, as I intend to use it for my work stop over every time I'm in the area.

The parking was at the bus station across the road and not free until after 6pm We were expecting entertainment at the hotel but there was nothing on. Live music was available at another hotel round the corner so not too much of a hassle.

Location and comfort.

Access door to Reception from rooms locked at night. I was not told. Could not get downstairs at 7am to get boiling water as a result, despite breakfast starting from 7am. Returned to room and phoned Reception but no response. Whilst I hadn't booked breakfast I did expect someone to be around in the morning for my early departure. I eventually found the alternative exit (but what if there'd been a fire)! Made my way out and walked past the main entrance. It was still in darkness and there were no visible staff around. This made me question the safety for guests in the property at night. Accessing the rooms is via different corridors on different levels. Egress would be difficult in an emergency, particularly if you are unaware of exit and the entrance door to all the rooms from Reception is locked. Otherwise clean and comfortable and friendly staff.

The room was very clean and it also had air conditioning which was an extra bonus considering how hot it was when we stayed.

Foundry 34 was very clean and very well decorated. My room, although small was more than adequate for myself and with a modern bathroom and good shower. I had dinner in the onsite restaurant which was extremely good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The property didn’t have a private car park but was situated close to a public car park which required payment to be made at 8am. Although I later discovered this could be easily done via the app. My room would have benefitted by having a small chair as there was nowhere to sit other than the bed.

the room, just for one. it was clean, tidy with a good size bathroom, the shower was excellent both in size and performance. Parking outside at 5pm with a free disc allows one hour free but you have to remember to move or fix at 8am in the morning. i did not dine but colleagues did and they found the menu broad and not too expensive

the many short staircases to the multi level bedrooms did tax the memory but were OK. Price for a single room was 'top end' of the range. car parking was a little difficult to sort so arriving early was beneficial.

Staff were excellent and so accommodating. Made us feel so personally welcome. Just excellent.

The room was clean , had air con during the heat wave which was welcomed. All the facilities you need close to shops / bars etc. Didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked busy so probably nice food. The ease of check and self check out using the rear door when the restaurant was closed. Would stay again.

The noise from the youngsters in the street below as there is a night club around the corner

I like the area, it's fairly quiet and easy to get to. Check in is a breeze.

Was a bit noisy early in the morning with deliveries also we paid extra for Superior room which was quite small dont know what normal priced room was like. The bed was very comfortable but a bit of a tight space.

The staff were immediately so friendly. I was staying here by myself and they were really attentive and welcoming. The room is small but really well thought out with everything you would need and the wash room was spacious. Over all very comfortable.

The shower pressure was quite low.

J'ai séjourné 2 nuits. En général dans les hôtels un minimum de ménage est fait après chaque nuit pour vider les poubelles, éventuellement changer les serviettes, rabattre le lit, remettre les délicieux petits biscuits, etc. J'ai été surpris que rien n'ait été fait. Par ailleurs impossible de me connecter au wifi avec l'ordinateur malgré l'aide d'un jeune homme du personnel. Ce n'était pas mon ordinateur, car dès le lendemain, dans un autre hôtel, pas de problème avec le wifi.

Very convenient location with easy parking in the local car park, which was very cheap on Sunday. Nice, modern room and bathroom with good shower. Very large and tasty breakfast. Very good value.

The one thing which could be better is not having the heated towel rail on in warm weather. There wasn't a way to turn it off.

The room is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. The bed is firm and comfy, shower is good. All facilities are there as described.

The room we were in are very exposed to night life noises, even the windows were closed. There must be a night club near by and we can still hear thumping music until 2.30am. Its unfortunate as the bed is super comfy but the noise kept us awake all night.

These are just 2 minor points for feedback Initially room felt cold at bedtime but it was a very cold windy day for May and soon warm once into bed later in evening with very comfy bed and good quality quilt and throw Room 1 the mirror was positioned too high to see when sitting down at the dressing table to do hair and makeup

skulle väl i så fall vara att det saknades toalettborste men det kan ha varit en tillfällighet och att det annras brukar finnas en sådan. Jag frågade aldrig efter en.. Egentligen är det ett litet problem

Lovely hotel/restaurant which was in the perfect location for myself & mate visiting a local friend for the weekend. Staff, room facilities were all excellent & especially the comfortable bed.

Unfortunately being surprisingly woken up by cleaners at 09:30am knocking on the door (1hour before) the allocated checkout time of 10:30am was certainly not appreciated. Ive never known this to happen at any other hotel ive stayed at & especially a full 1 hour before the actual checkout.

Staff was great. Location was great. Bathroom (e.g., shower) was nice.

Based on the photos online, we expected a nicer room than we had.

It was a convenient stop on the way south from Scotland.

Noise all night from works outside on the road gullies. The shower was broken, it needed to be hand held while you used it which wasn’t ideal.

They were very accommodating. Due to feeling ill they helped me check in early which was greatly appreciated. Very cooperative with bike storage and coordinating getting bike out of storage in the morning. Made me feel very welcome and as a solo female traveler this was greatly appreciated

The room was very small and smelt heavily of stale cigarette smoke! I found this totally unacceptable and felt like it was a room used for staff, if for any reason they had to stop over! The stale cigarette smoke has embedded in my clothes, which is totally unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to purchase a single room. If I hadn’t of arrived so late I would if complained and asked to be moved. But now I wonder that’s why the staff member taking me to the room gave me the door card outside of the room and didn’t enter! Unfortunately it was a very unpleasant evening and experience.

When arrived 2 staff were on the bar. I walked over to check in. Wasn’t greeted friendly or with a smile was just demanded to wait by reception. Morning staff were friendly however. Shower head was not sturdy. Was unable to have the shower over me as the stand was broken so it dropped down. Had to hold the shower head over me.

Exceptional standards of cleanliness. Beautifully decorated and luxurious bedding. Tremendous cooked breakfast to set you up for the day 👍

Lack of reception facilities.

I was in Room 6 which faced the road but road noise was not an issue for me. Good location just off the main high street area. The Foundry restaurant has lovely food, Sunday dinner was fab and so was the breakfast.

The bed was very soft, gave me back ache on the first night. Second night slept mainly on the edge. But that's probably personal to me, some may like a soft bed. If the restaurant is closed you need to use the rear entrance, easily accessible but the kitchen smell was a bit off putting as you walk in but it soon disappears. Hotel not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, no lift and lots of stairs.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Comfortable bed with high quality cotton bed linen. Small shower room, but good shower and nice towels. As a solo female.traveller felt very safe. Breakfast included - could have had full cooked if I wanted, included in price - great value for a convenient stop near the M6.

Very bright, green emergency light in bedroom, as mentioned by other reviewers, really needs to be changed, as staff acknowledged. Parking is a couple of streets away at bus station, bit they do warn you of this and remind you you have to pay before 1800 and after 0800 - not the most convenient for some, maybe, although it didn't bother me.
