The room we were in was at the front of the building. As it was Saturday night, it was quite noisy late at night with people coming out of the Lounge/bar. The room was warm and we didn’t find the fan in the wardrobe until we were getting ready to check out.

The location and food was good. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was nice but fresh fruit on the waffles in the morning would have been nice

I don't like a room that i can't see out of the window. If we had been staying more than one night I might have asked if we could have another room. Apart from that the room and bathroom were lovely and clean.

Right in the town so easy to go walking about. The bed was fantastic and everything was clean and fresh. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was amazing.

The car park is at the rear and quite a walk for my husband who is disabled. I should have checked first before booking, and he struggled with the stairs. I would also recommend asking for a room with a bath if thats what you prefer.

Clean and comfortable. We were away at a wedding and didn’t come in until the early hours. The room suited our needs with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable.

The only black mark against our night’s stay was the morning breakfast coffee. It was truly undrinkable. I had to go find a coffee shop in Penrith.

The car park was at the back of the hotel so a bit of a walk with bags etc. Booked an evening meal but it was DJ night and too loud as our table was in the bar area so we had to find another restaurant. Breakfast was ok nothing special but the service and staff were lovely.

The staff was very helpful and welcoming, and the location was close to city and lots of views

Everything was excellent, the room, the staff, the cleanliness, the breakfast was good quality ingredients. I rarely write such a stunning review, but this place and staff deserve the accolade.

Only comment is that I don’t it would be good for someone with mobility issues.

We were upgraded to a superior room, which was spacious and quiet. Breakfasts were large and staff helpful. The hotel itself was central to shops and restaurants.

The car park was round the back of the hotel and you had to walk along a little lane, although we did not have a particular problem with this.

The hotel was lovely, well maintained and decor was fabulous. The hotel receptionist and the lady serving breakfast were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. The location was great for access to the town and close to the bars and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent, fruit juice, fruit, cereal, jams and full Cumbrian breakfast, cooked to perfection with quality produce. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would 100% stay again.

Very modern, room was spotless and we were given a free room upgrade. The stand alone bath in the room was amazing. Staff couldn’t be more helpful from check in to check out. Breakfast was delicious.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Lounge Hotel. The room was lovely, spacious, modern and exceptionally clean. The value for money was fantastic, and the hotel and facilities were excellent too. Breakfast was fantastic, and the car park was easy to access around the back. We’d definitely stay here again if we’re back in Penrith!

I got constantly verbally attacked by another female customer guest who had it in for me as soon as I had got in to to the lobby of that Hotel in Penrith Cumbria from me travelling in a train and before me travelling in a a bus

Alles was goed aan het hotel: ruime badkamer en kamer, lekkere douche.

De kamer was enorm warm. Ook al was het buiten maar 16 graden. Er was maar een klein raampje en een ventilator wat niet erg helpt. De warmte was echt onaangenaam. Vooral ‘‘s nachts.

Staff were excellent and friendly. Room clean and tidy. Very good breakfast. All told really good value.

Staff so helpful and friendly. Gave us great tips on what to see and do whilst in Penrith and surrounds. We would happily recommend The Lounge Bar Hotel to anyone looking to stay in this area. The breakfasts were excellent too. Nothing to find fault with at all.

Car Park difficult to find. One of the rooms had a ceiling window with no blind and was noisy with the rain. No other outside window. Other room overlooked the street and was adequate and comfortable

The room was good, large bathroom and included a bath. The breakfast was excellent and in general the staff were very nice and welcoming

The food menu for meals wasn’t great(nothing with veg apart from peas. The hotel should advertise as a completely non smoking venue and this could be a selling point for them. They have a outside area within the premises that is no smoking or vaping and an area in an alley with cigarette dispenser but when we used this area we were very rudely told that this was for staff only. To smoke you had to go out in the Main Street. They put 2 small tables and 4 chairs out during the day between about 9am and 8 pm and no shelter if it rained. It is fine to have a non smoking venue but this should be advertised. They should have signs up in the staff smoking area saying it is for staff only as this would save the total embarrassment of being told off. We are not heavy smokers but if they want a non smoking venue then this should be advertised as such. It also is not good for them to have the smoking area at the front entrance as this must be very off putting for non smokers. It’s up to the venue to decide their smoking policy but this should be clearly advertised. They want the business but I feel they should be up front about their intolerance to smokers. I have never stayed in such a place where they do not make everyone welcome. I will review them on trip adviser so others are aware

Had a free upgrade, excellent room. Armchairs, large comfy bed, large TV. Excellent breakfast- wide selection, dietary requirements catered for. On main road, but quiet and no noise from within hotel either. Contemporary furnishings and decoration. Bath and a shower.

Being in the centre of town was good. The food was good and staff brilliant. The rooms were clean and pleasant.

The only thing we found unusual was closing time at the bar.

I liked that parking was available and that detailed information about how to get from the parking to the hotel was sent before. I liked the lounge and bar area, the friendly staff, and the convenient location.

It was a very hot day, and the room was very hot and set for Winter. As the room faced the street, and we needed to keep the window open, it was not a comfortable sleep.

A waiting staff female called lindsay was yet again very rude to me at breakfast and definitely should be allowed to work at this Hotel

Beautiful hotel with modern facilities, and wonderful service, we ate at the restaurant, the staff were fabulous especially when we had a minor medical incident.

We foolishly didn’t realise the window tilted open, so the room was a bit hot until we figured it out.

The breakfast was very nice, the lounge bar area was very nice, the room was nice enough. Portable fan in room helped a little with the heat

Our stay was marred by walkng in on a poor gentleman in is underwear on the bed of the room we were assigned. We tried to laugh this off and we were given a free drink while it was sorted. However they could not offer an explanation even after questioning again on check out and requesting a response (they have not reaponded). My wife and I were 'jumpy' in our room, not being able to relax even after double locking our door and putting out the 'do not disturb' sign. We therefore did not sleep well and spoiled my wife's birthday surprise

Everything. The staff are a great asset, first rate, from housekeeping, to sparkly Reception (Marcia’s super) to breakfast crew and bar.

We had a fabulous stay & the hotel, staff, food standards were incredible the only small negative we have it the room was very hot. There was a Dan in the room however due to the high temperatures outside the fan just circulated hot air around making sleeping uncomfortable BUT did not spoil our stay & we WILL be back 💜

Everything - food, customer care & helpfulness of all staff & the deco was stunning. Best breakfast I’ve had in any hotel I’ve stayed in & the frozen strawberry daiquiri 🍓

We've stayed before and it was and is great in terms of location, facilities and staff friendliness

The restaurant/bar area has become very loud and noisy because they've decided to put a DJ on playing 'rave' style music throughout Friday and Saturday evenings. Friday in the inside restaurant, Saturday in the outside area. Normally we would have our evening meal in there on the Friday but decided against it because of the music - it doesn't the style of the venue.

Food was exceptional

The rooms were comfortable and the service good. The breakfast was good apart from the instant coffee.

Instant coffee at breakfast was unacceptable. Espresso or filter coffee i.e. fresh coffee made from beans is what we expect for the cost of the stay.

Nice beds and pillows. Spacious apartment. Quiet other than the seagulls. Tea and coffee supplies

Shower was a bit tricky to change between the large and small head. No shelves in fridge. No windows that you can see out of.

The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable and (once we found it!) having a hotel car park in the centre of the town is really helpful.

I think the signage at the front of the hotel could better reflect the niceness of what is inside.

I booked this last minute 1 night stay to use post festival to get some comfort prior to travelling home for a hospital appointment the next day. Along with my sister, we shared a twin double room. This is a little hidden Gem, Great Central location, really comfortable beds, and stylish decor in the room, ensuite and around the hotel facilities. Very Clean and smells divine. Easy Access to rooms, and dedicated smoking area. Nice and quiet. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. The Breakfast has great options and is really tasty and special for a hotel menu. It certainly facilitated a sense of wellbeing, comfort and relaxation which was the perfect result for us, I'm definiately gifting some trips to family as a treat away.

Not much that can't be easily fixed. It was free parking close to the back of the hotel which was great, but because it was dark we struggled to find it without asking some locals for intructions given the SAT nav took us to the front. Some signage/auto lights may be useful. When we arrived at the bar /check in it was 10.10pm on Saturday Night, but the bar had closed at 10pm. So we couldnt relax with a drink in the bar prior to retiring. The Hotel satff did take over shortly after, but we had to order a drink to the room. We found this to be a little early for a Saturday.

Too expensive, hotel is in need of modernisation. My room was above the toilets and everytime someone used the hand dryer it woke me up.

Diabolical as this member of staff called Lindsay constantly verbally attacked me early that Morning and should not be allowed to work at this Hote never ever agian and l was told to hurry and that cleared away breakfast before I got rid of rubbish as they are certainly the rubbish

Excellent breakfast. Bar and restaurant have a good selection. Remember food not served after 8pm but I ordered at 19:55 and received very good macaroni cheese.

Location great, we got a free room upgrade which was lovely, comfy & spacious. We ate in the evening in restaurant & food was lovely. Staff were welcoming & friendly. Cat was especially helpful. Decor modern & comfy. Breakfast plentiful & tasty. Great value for 1 night stay. Great sleep!!! Quiet & peaceful. Recommend to everyone.

Checked carpets I didn’t think suited the hotel. But just a picky thing.

Staff very considerate and helpful, couldn't do enough for us. Room lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the best we have had anywhere, credit to the chef. Raving about the hotel to all our friends and family.

Very hot room, only a small velux window for light and ventilation Shower head leaked so I was unable to have a proper shower.

A bit difficult to find the parking so feel they need to explain that before arrival. Otherwise great location, clean and lovely staff.

The breakfast was ok. The staff were ok. It was clean. There was a fan which was much needed. Parking was where they said it was.

Two rooms were booked and both were exceptionally hot, including the cold water tap. The twin had big windows, but the 'Deluxe double' had a small window in the roof. There was nothing 'deluxe' about this room, very ordinary. We could not enter the room as the key card wouldn't work. This took ages to sort out and a lot of up and downstairs for us, eventually we were given an actual key for the room. No sign of a manager to sort the problem out only bar staff. When trying to get in to the hotel at night at least 3 rooms worth of people could not enter using the side gate because of the key card situation. This needs reviewing.

As expected room was rather small but was not an issue- outlook over low level roofs and resident very vocal gull community a real nuisance from noise perspective. Breakfast excellent and much too generous.

Great town centre location with a car park, friendly staff, free upgraded room. One of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had, piping hot and quality ingredients, will definitely return and make a weekend of it this time

The rooms were spotless. The beds comfortable. The windows were excellent for noise reduction. We were provided with fans for the room, which were a godsend when the weather was 30+ degrees! The bus to Pooley Bridge was outside the hotel which was great as we were walking around Ullswater on the Saturday. Can highly recommend the cocktails!

Lovely hotel and bar/restaurant the air conditioning in the downstairs area was amazing during the hot weather. Evening food and breakfast highly recommend great portions and lovely and fresh . All the staff where genuinely lovely can't wait to return .

No air conditioning in rooms but I do understand the financial cost of this. Genuinely not a complaint . Its a lovely hotel .
