I really love the vibes of this motel! ✨ The room is surprisingly spacious and really comfortable. The only downside is that they don’t have an in-house laundry, so you’ll need to use an outsourced laundry facility. But the location is great! It’s within walking distance to New Regent Street and some of Christchurch’s main spots. 🚶🏻‍♀️ We just left our car at the motel and walked around instead — saved the parking fees too 😂💰 Overall, I really enjoyed staying here! 🤍

We really enjoyed our stay at The Grange Motel in Christchurch. We stayed in an Executive Studio, which was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. The location was fantastic — an easy walk to many of Christchurch’s popular tourist attractions, restaurants and the city centre, which made exploring really convenient. We also loved the heated towel rail. Having onsite parking was another big benefit and made things so much easier, particularly while travelling with a car. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay at The Grange Motel again when visiting Christchurch. Highly recommend!

The location was key in our decision to book and it didn’t disappoint. Central Christchurch is essentially right out the door and makes it all very walkable and enjoyable. The space was very nicely laid out and the balcony we had with a giant wall of windows was great and let in lots of light.

Great location for walking to all the main attractions in the CBD. A bonus was the number 8 bus just around the corner which went all the way out to the Antarctic Centre without having to take a car or taxi. Friendly and attentive staff who were knowledgeable of the city (been there for 30 years). Breakfast was consistently good, including barista-made coffee from a proper Italian coffee machine (another surprise).

We were delighted with the location of the Grange Motel right next to Cranmer Square and a short walk from the Gardens, as well as its proximity to the Town Hall which we were attending that evening. Our unit was exceptionally quiet, with the original house being between us and the main road. It was spacious and well-equipped.

I would have preferred an ice box or freezer unit inside the fridge provided, as I was not able to re-freeze my ice-packs which I use to keep our food cold while travelling. It is the first time we've stayed in a motel or unit without a small freezer unit included in the fridge.

The Grange was the best accommodation of our New Zealand trip. This is a historical residence, beautifully restored with all the modern amenities. The room was very spacious (we got a free upgrade), the lady host was friendly and efficient and it is situated only 10-15 minutes away by foot from most attractions, restaurants and bus station. In particular, we liked that the host provided us with breakfast the night before, when we informed her that we had to leave early the following morning. Thus, we could have breakfast in our room before departing.

I chose to stay at this motel because it was close to the city centre without the huge price tag. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed. The heat pump and electric blanket were also welcome additions. I would definitely stay here again.

Note you can't use stove top unless you open all the doors/windows as no extraction fan. I didn't need to so didn't bother me.

It was a handy location and had off street parking. It was comfortable and quiet with no road noise. I was greeted cheerfully by the lady owner, (I presume) in the morning

Bathroom floor was stone cold and there was no heater. We were a little perturbed that our credit card details were demanded, with only an explanation when we challenged this. We had prepaid in full

The Grange Motel was a little surprise. Well presented room with comfy bed, large bathroom and lovely courtyard. Great location with on site parking. Very obliging, friendly staff. Location is excellent within walking distance to most things. Hop on hop off Vintage Tram stop nearby.

Great value motel rooms out the back.of the heritage B&B building. Lovely staff, nice big room, very cosy. We appreciated the kitchenette for preparing snacks. The bathroom is massive and the shower was great. Love a king size bed too. Free parking is a bonus, but it can get busy. Fantastic location, very easy walking to the parks or the CBD.

The bedroom was spacious and very clean. The location is very central but still quiet.

The mattress on the bed was quite old and lumpy and the bedding wasn't very warm. There were very few dishes in the kitchen if you wanted to have a meal at the unit. Parking was very tight and awkward. All parks were full and yet the accommodation wasn't fully occupied.

We were booked into the motel section at the back of the B&B. The room we were checked into smelled strongly of ammonia or cat urine. We asked to change rooms, which the owner immediately arranged. The second room was less smelly thankfully. Unfortunately had a terrible sleep as the mattress was very worn and sagging and hard, old pillows. For the price point, I wasn’t impressed. I cancelled our second night stay and checked out the next morning.

The unit was well appointed and very comfortable. The location was excellent. An easy walk into the city centre and to the botanic gardens and Avon river.

Parking is an issue here - there are limited parks and it is possible to get parked in by others. When we stayed a vehicle parked in the exit driveway. I don't think accommodation was full the night we stayed so I imagine it could get worse.

Great hosts, location and very comfortable room. This was our second stay and we had a downstairs room which was bigger than what we previously had. Breakfasts are also good. I would recommend staying there.

My only criticism is that there wasn't enough space to put toiletries and hang towels in the bathroom
