Sally was a very gracious host. Her continental breakfast was exceptional! She was very helpful in providing information for planning our hike/water taxi to Abel Tasman.

Un accueil exceptionnel de notre hôtesse, très attentionnée et de bon conseil. Encore merci pour votre gentillesse et votre bienveillance. Le logement était spacieux, confortable et très propre. Le petit-déjeuner très bien avec, entre autre, des muffins excellents et faits maison.

Die Atmosphäre war fast schon familiär. Aber zurückhaltend und nicht aufdringlich. Das Frühstück wird jeden Tag liebevoll gemacht und präsentiert. Frisches Obst inbegriffen. Der Garten (sehr gepflegt) darf und soll benutzt werden. Man hat vom Garten aus, einen phantastischen Blick über das Village.

The location was perfect as it was an easy walk to meetings and cafes. The setting was peaceful, friendly and comfortable. The Host was very easy going and welcoming. The breakfast service and dining space was lovely with personal touches that made me feel quite spoilt. Having a space to sit in the garden and listen to the tui was a bonus. Highly recommend this place to stay.

Our room and bathroom were very spacious, clean and bright. Sally kindly packed us a breakfast for the first two mornings as we needed to leave early for our hiking trips. The other two mornings we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in the room available for guest use any time of day along with use of the patio. Sally also provided us with many tips about local dining, wineries and nearby sights to see. The location was perfect with easy walking access to a number of eating places and a short ferry ride or drive to Rabbit Island for walking and beautiful beaches.

Friendly hospitable hosts. Comfortable room and spacious en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was excellent.

Lovely breakfast - enjoyed fresh fruit…

The hosts and accommodations were lovely. We left early our first morning for a day trip to Abel Tasman and Sally packed us a to go breakfast including homegrown tomatoes from her garden. I think they ordered up sunlight to stream into the breakfast room the next morning so it would shine on the locally grown fresh fruits. Way exceeded expectations.

Fabulous location to Māpua town center and wharf. Sally was a consummate host. Her breakfast was a sumptuous array of breads, muffins, croissants, fresh and dried fruits, compotes, jams, cereals, yogurt, seeds and nuts, some of which were homemade by Sally. Her suggestions about the area were very helpful. She provided beach towels and chairs. The bedroom was the beginning of a guest’s comfort. There was a dining area for breakfast and snacks throughout the day and a lovely garden. A luxurious experience by a host that went above and beyond.

Great location, only minutes away from Mapua Wharfe and all the facilities there. Sally was very welcoming and friendly. Bedroom was bigger than most we have stayed in - complete with toiletries, dressing gowns, air conditioning, tv, powerful shower, stunning views. We also had a room on the ground floor to use which was equipped with a fridge and small kitchen area. This led out to an outside seating area which was very welcome. Tea etc available to use and lovely home made biscuits 😋. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissants, toast, cereal, nuts and seeds. We even had Yorkshire Tea which was very welcome. Laundry is available too if you need it at a small cost. Sally made us very welcome and gave us lots of tips on the local area. Definitely one of the best places we have ever stayed - hopefully return one day.

Very quiet, clean, cosy, parking space. Great hospitality, delicious breakfast, complimentary tea and coffee during the day, very friendly hosts, always ready for their guests. One of the best B&B we ever experienced.

We were made really welcome and Sally went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and a range of of lovely dishes. If you get the chance, taste her home made shortbread. The best I have ever eaten. Thank you both for your hospitality and rest assured if and when we visit Mapua next, we would be happy to stay with you again. Joan and John.

I had an incredible time here. Sally and Ian were so welcoming and put in every effort to make sure my stay was relaxing and fun. The breakfast especially was delicious! The room and bathroom were spacious and the bed was comfy. I really enjoyed sitting out in the terrace with views of the garden, eating dinner in the evenings. It’s just a short walk down to town with restaurants, shops and a weekly market! Mapua itself is a hidden gem, and a great jumping off point for vineyard visits or Abel Tasman explorations.

Sally and Ian were friendly and welcoming. The room was large and comfortable, and the bathroom pleasant to use. The guest dining room is a lovely room and it was much preferable to have fresh milk in a fridge than UHT sachets and a kettle in my room. Nice breakfast that kept me going until lunchtime.

Minor point really. A shaver point and light above the bathroom basin would be useful.

In one word: Perfect. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious. Nice garden view. Breakfast-room has a nice atmosphere. It really feels like home. Fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh baked muffins, different choices of bread, cereals. Friendly host.

Sally was so welcoming. As soon as arrived was offered drinks and nibbles. These included home made biscuits and muffins. These were also available during whole stay.

There was nothing we didn’t like . It was very high standard.

We thoroughly recommend Hazelwood. We'd give it 12 out of 10 if we could. Sally is a fantastic host. All the positive reviews are legit. Great location. Great facilities. Great breakfast. Sally has thought of everything to make your stay special. You won't regret it.

Ian and Sally were lovely, the breakfast was delicous and loads to choose between and the garden was so very pretty.

We had a wonderful stay at this delightful property. The hosts are so helpful with suggestions for places to go and things to do. The bedroom was supremely comfortable and breakfast was excellent with lovely home made items. The inside/outside guest area for breakfast and relaxation is a really nice feature.

Lovely home in quiet surroundings, accessible by car to many attractions in the area. Host was happy to share local knowledge. This was a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and we would recommend it to anyone - the breakfasts were excellent.

This was outstanding accommodation in a lovely area, 10 minutes walk to Mapua Wharf. Breakfast was amazing and each afternoon we came into a lovely homemade treat. Scones & cream and biscuits when we arrived! The hosts couldn't do enough for us and were such kind people. Would like to come back some day.
