Rylstone Mere

Great location for our stay in Whitby, we were only there for one night but could have comfortably stayed longer at Rysltone Mere! Nice size room, big, comfortable bed, and all the facilities we needed!

Perfect location and parking provided.

Would have liked a small fridge for milk as we don't like the little cartons of milk provided in tea.

Close to town, clean and tidy and they went above and beyond letting us check in at 09.45 and providing us loads of extra milks.

Excellent location and a good sized room on the top floor. We found it quiet and perfect for town. Comfortable bed, everything was clean, a friendly welcome and easy to park our car.

We walked from Robin Hoods Bay and arrived in Whitby a few hours before check in, we received a message as soon as we stepped off the track that our room was ready to check in which was a lovely surprise! Very generous with the biscuits, coffee and hot chocolate. The view of the park from the window was stunning.

Location is nit far from the city centre and all the amenities. Room was lovely clean and had all the tea coffee etc for the fre days stay. The host was bery friendly and helpful.

Noisy at time by the road, parking was tight, however, apart from that everything was fabulous.

Amazing property, Sonya was absolutely fantastic - not far from the harbour but peaceful enough at night, comfy beds, great shower, loved we had a door for the balcony to let me fresh air into the room. Very clean, we love how it was a old style house brought upto date but still had some original features in the house

Great location for easy walking access to town centre. Comfortable room and bed with small but modern bathroom and excellent shower. Very friendly and helpful owner. Parking is tight and double-banked but is well managed by the owner and worked fine for us.

Bathroom sink is very small. Parking may be more difficult if you have a large vehicle or need to keep using your car during your stay.

Convenient for town centre

A lovely friendly hotel situated in a great place just to the right of the railway station and a five minute walk into the centre. We booked a small junior room which had everything you needed even extra tea/coffee and biscuits. We stayed for 2 nights although was a little noisy due to being on the front with the busy main road. Would not hesitate to book again but a bigger room if staying longer.

No complaints except with the traffic noise but there is nothing you can do about that. I am a light sleeper but it didn't disturb my husbands sleep

The rooms were so cosy and the hotel was conveniently only a five minute walk from all the main attractions.The bed was really comfy, plenty of storage, not too warm or cold, and there was plenty of coffee, tea and hot chocolate provided!

There was nothing I didn’t like.

We loved this B&B and definitely stay again, easy walk into town. We let the manager know what time we will arrive and she kindly waited and showed us which parking space to use.

It was very clean and the person welcomed us happy and helpful. Loads of supplies for us etc. tea coffee and the rest the bedroom was clean and tidy. We will be back and hopefully get a different room 😃

Room was at the back of the property and very quiet even though it was fully booked. Bed was super comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee and loo rolls. Loved the fact that here were hooks for coats and towels. Room was very clean and had everything you needed. Great location to the centre of Whitby. Sonia was brilliant host and very good at organising all the parking. Shower was great! Fantastic value for money. We will be back

The lady who met me when I arrived was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern.

Host greeted us at the door and told us where to park and then showered us the room. They also told us about good places you could go to get a nice evening meal.

Property is in an ideal location. Over the road is the beautiful Pannett Park & Whitby centre just a five minute walk. The hotel is immaculately clean with beautiful rooms. The host Sonia was lovely, so friendly

Great 2 night stay. Sonia a great host, really helpful and we arranged to leave our luggage on arrival as we had no car. Loved the room with leafy view towards the park. It was fresh, very clean and looked recently fitted out with new furniture and carpet. The shower was good too and plenty of towels and bedding smelt really nice. Have stayed in a couple of other places in Whiby but this was far superior for the same price. Would definitely stay again

Due to tight parking, you could be boxed in till 10:00 deadline. No problem for me, but this needs to be explained BEFORE guests reserve in case the reservation is made after the free cancellation period.

Clean and comfortable, well cared for.

The location was great. We were able to park before check in and make the most of our first day in Whitby. We also had an issue with the tv not working but the host was very helpful in sorting it. Room was comfortable and plenty of coffee tea and milk meant we didn’t need to ask for re-fills.

Very friendly and helpful landlord, she knows the town and the surrounding area and helps with parking your car (free parking). Comfortable and clean room, location only 5 minutes walking distance from the city center, the train station, the restaurants and a supermarket. Only 10 minutes walking to the beach. Nice central location for exploring the Yorkshire Coast.

We had a lovely stay at Rylstone Mere. Our room was a small attic room, exactly as described, but it was cosy, bright and very well designed. It had everything we needed, with lots of thoughtful amenities, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The house was spotless and beautifully maintained throughout. Although the room is on the second floor, the stairs are wide and easy to use. The hosts were friendly and provided clear information before our arrival, making everything straightforward. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location

We had a lovely warm welcome from Sonya after a very long drive up. The location was excellent for pottering around Whitby and exploring Staithes.

The only comment we have is the bathroom size being on the smaller size. Other than that it was a great stay.

Sonya is very pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much bother for her.

Parking was a bit tight.

We were greeted by Sonya who helped us park. Sonya helped take our cases in. We had a couple of little mishaps that Sonya sorted very quickly. There was plenty of biscuits tea coffee sugar milk. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location was perfect just 5 to 10 mins into the town. All in all it was a perfect stay in Whitby and would definitely recommend to friends and family. A big thank you to Sonya who was very friendly and helpful during our stay nothing was too much trouble for her.

The steps up to the front door a little troublesome for myself with my vision but managed them.

Not much really, it was ok, only downside was my room didn't have much of a view and it could feel slightly claustrophobic, wasn't expecting the hanging gardens of babylon but a better view would have been great.

We were met with a very warm welcome, and the parking was made simple and easy to allow us to park on property and allow me to leave one evening for a work meeting. It was a great walk into Whitby itself, and I'd definitely recommend to anyone wishing to visit the town. A cosy room that was perfect for us to relax in after a busy day of walking about.
