The staff was wonderful, the rooms lovely, the honesty bar and breakfast were great. Easy walk to the village. Thank you! A pleasant and enjoyable stay.

There was a difficulty in getting onsite at 6:00pm. I had to yell and hope that someone could hear me at the gate, eventually family upstairs did hear me. And it was a pleasant evening.

The accomodation is excellent. All rooms are well eqipped for self cayering with moni ovens microwave fully eqipped kitchen plenty of towels for bathroom and for the pool. Adequate parking for 5 cars excellent breakfast menu . 5 minits walk to Lighthouse Mall with approx 20 dining options. And shops. This was my 3rd visit to Anchors Rest .

Coffee was not great. Quality accomodation in well maintained condition spotless comfortable beds and reasonable prices in this area.

This is a lovely location, busy and very beautiful rooms. The breakfast are delicious and a large staff and Cellia and her brother are very present. They have a full honesty bar, services and a lovely mix of friendly guests. I loved it here!

My most favourite place to stay in Umhlanga, it’s got it all and well priced.

I liked the friendly atmosphere and excellent location, close to all restaurants and the beach. The staff went to great length to assist us with all our needs.

The room was comfortable and clean and well presented and felt a lot like being in someone's home as a guest. The details in the bathroom encouraging water saving was met with gas heating of the water so there was no waiting for the hot to flow and offer a quick shower. Big win on that! Such a comfy bed, and good night's sleep. Thank you

The breakfast on a weekend is served from 8am so I missed what I had read up to be an amazing experience. Will definitely make my flights a bit later to get to enjoy this aspect.

Great location near restaurants and shops and a short walk to sand white beach. Property was great, staff were very helpful and ordering breakfast onsite was easy and it was an excellent breakfast and well worth the money. Lovely balcony where you can have a drink at sunset. Gateway is a fair walk , uphill with lovely views. A little hidden gem in Umhlanga.

The staff was extremely friendly from the get go, facilities were clean and comfortable. We stayed over for 3 nights and looked forward to having breakfast each day, the variety of breakfast against how much stay costs was amazing.

Exceeded expectations in every way. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Everything was great and staff were there to ensure that all possible needs were attended to. The only constructive criticism I might have is the shower over the bath in the one suite might be a little tricky for an older guest

My Husband & I stayed here for some peace and rest after The Comrades we had a wonderful stay the hosts were absolutely great. We had fresh cooked Breakfast and fresh pots of coffee nothing seemed too much. The staff were so great and made us feel very Welcome. The room had everything we needed and the honesty bar was such a nice touch. It's a short walking distance to lots of restaurants & Bars. Also walking distance to Umlanga Lighthouse. The location in Umhlanga is absolutely perfect, walking distance to all the restaurants and pubs. From the start, everything was handled very personally and professionally. Nosipho's (the chef) omelette is the best I have ever eaten, superb array of options for breakfast. The accommodation, the room was very well appointed, attention to detail is superb. "BEST GUESTHOUSE STAY EVER!"

Very friendly staff, beautiful villa as a guesthouse. Unfortunately can't give more than a 10. My group was very happy with that place - quiet, clean, cozy.

A good choice for breakfasts and freshly cooked each time. The location was only a couple of blocks from the shopping area but not close to the beach. Umhlanga Rocks is quite hilly so to get to the beach you must go down a fairly steep hill. Walking back up is good exercise but hard for the elderly. There is always a Uber or taxi. The room was perfect. We stayed in Strelitzia which had its own patio (no sea view but beautiful palms and trees) with a good awning to give you shade. Had our morning cuppa and ate any meals we had everyday on the patio. It was so nice. Staff were all welcoming and kind.

We found the beds too hard for us (80 year olds) because of our age but lots of people don't worry if the bed is hard. The staff were wonderful and gave me extra padding on top of the mattress which mad it much better.

A very peaceful guesthouse with beautiful grounds, a pool and nicely appointed self catering units. The location was ideal, close enough to be able to walk to shops and restaurants but away from traffic and other noise. There is secure parking on site which was a bonus. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

The staff, especially Tabeta (sorry spelling is probably incorrect) were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The property was spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfy. The breakfast was fabulous, especially the omelette! The location was within a 5/7 min walk of local bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

This was damn terrible they robbed me for my money and didn't give me a refund first they say that my payment wasn't made and then they say that they can't refund me after I made other arrangements to live somewhere else and this white lady has pathetic work ethics and is very unprofessional God damn she don't even know what day of the week it is her name is merlyn

What a gem in Durban Umhlanga , not far away from malls , restaurant and Umhlanga Rocks . The owner and Staff members are over the top. We stayed in Jasmine and everything was clean and the beds comfortable, also we stayed a bit over the check out time with no pressure to leave. Felt like visiting a nice family member ♥️ all the best for you

I felt like at home from the first moment! Each detail is taken into account. Everything is extremely cleaned. All you need is available. There are private and common spaces. Central location but quiet area.

Leider hatten wir diese traumhafte Unterkunft nur als Zwischenstation für eine Nacht gebucht, hier wären wir gerne länger geblieben! Wir wurden sehr liebevoll empfangen, bekamen ein niedliches Zimmer direkt am wunderschönen sauberen Pool. Alles sehr gepflegt und schön. Eine Bar auf Vertrauensbasis fanden wir klasse. Das Auto steht sicher im Innenhof. Das Frühstück war hervorragend und das Personal reizend! Auch der Ort, von dem wir nicht viel erwartet hatten, hat uns positiv überrascht, der Strand ist toll und es gibt viele gute Restaurants.

Absolutely stunning property with a fantastic location for a quick walk into the heart of Uhmlanga. Beautiful, clean, tidy, strong WIFI, comfy, luxury beds and very friendly staff. Met the owner Peter and his wife Cilla, and the reception staff too. Lovely crowd! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful place. Quiet and pretty. Our self-catering room was gorgeous. Lovely outside area with sun loungers and table/chairs. The pool area and honesty bar were fabulous. One of the best things was the people. From the owners to the staff all helpful. The lovely Sandy helped us sort out an airline issue. Having a reception staffed by humans and not lockboxes or computers was a joy.

Everything was charming!! The warm welcome from our lovely hosts, the comfortable rooms, and the heated pool that stays shaded in the afternoon. A truly relaxing moment before catching our flight home. The big plus? It’s located just 2 minutes from restaurants and a 10-minute walk from the beach, in a perfectly safe neighborhood where you can stroll around and enjoy the seaside atmosphere in the air. I highly recommend it and will definitely return on my next visit to Durban.

Grosses Zimmer mit sehr bequemen Betten. Gut ausgestattet mit Wasserkocher, Tee, Kaffee etc. Die Mitarbeiterinnen sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Bäume und Sträucher überwachsen die Terrasse weshalb es ziemlich dunkel im Zimmer ist. Der Pool ist ungepflegt, das Wasser sollte DRINGENDST grwrchselt werden.

Staff were noisy outside the back of the room (courtyard area) first thing in the morning.

It was a fantastic location, the staff were really friendly and accommodating, exceptional, the accommodation was very good and very comfortable and had all the essential amenities.

When showering the water kept changing temperature which made it a bit frustrating. But it didn't affect our stay or the quality of the place. I would highly recommend.

Everything and more! Peter and Cilla were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome and at home. The house is beautiful, the garden and pool is so well kept . The room was clean with beautiful en suite bathroom. The door opened onto a patio with view of the garden and pool with outside seating. We had a delixious breakfast and the staff were very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay there again if we visit Umhlanga in the future.

My husband would have loved to watch the cricket on supersport. But other than that everyrhing was perfect
