We loved the location, the shared space in the kitchen-living area, off which were all the rooms, access to outside from every room to the beautiful lawn and garden.

We liked everything.

Beautiful setting for a relaxing stay. Very welcoming hosts. Great shared kitchen and bathroom. Wonderful fire . Unfortunately a lightning storm cut our time in the hot tub very short.

Beautiful lodge, very tranquil and peaceful place to be. Lovely owners. Big central area with sofas and a huge kitchen all overlooking a big garden. Well equipped kitchen. Ultra clean shared bathroom.

Small bedroom. 15 mins drive into town.

Fabulous setting and excellent facilities.

Everything was very clean and the location is just amazing. Also the owners are super helpful and friendly. I can also recommend the hot pools there.

This was a great find on booking .com for our older group of riders after finishing the Alps to Ocean Owners could not of been more helpful, fantastic value thank you

Very comfortable and had everything in the kitchen that you could want! It was very clean and the wood burning fire heated the place so well - it was really lovely I would highly recommend it- we will come back!

Wow - everything. The location is so close to an amazing beach. It’s so quiet. Beautiful garden. Clean and spacious cooking area and lounge. Rooms located around lounge but could not hear people in lounge when u in your room. A lovely lady runs the place - so lovely.

Lovely hosts and facilities. Very quite and relaxing and the hot tubs were an added bonus on a frosty morning. Will be back again for sure. Grant and Karen were amazing and generous hosts.

A big surprise for me, as I really had no clue about what I was coming to, wonderful shared space with bedrooms around the edge, Exceptionally tidy and clean. Comfortable beds. Shared kitchen space incredibly well kitted out. Nice bathrooms, even if they are shared - very clean

Well set out shared accommodation, I liked that the room had its own exterior door. The bed was comfortable. I liked the automatic lights in the hallway and toilet area. The kitchen was set up really well. Lovely outlook. Good car parking. Nice to have oodles of firewood to keep the fire going.

Location lovely, room basic but clean

Organised with the property managers for late pick up, when I had to call to confirm which was late and I had advised they seemed a little annoyed even though I had clearly communicated prior it was going to be a late check in

The kitchen was excellent to use, although a couple of the stove elements weren't working. Other than that little tid-bit it was great! The beds were so warm and comfy, the roaring fire in the lounge was lovely. Our host was genuine and friendly also. We have marked this as a place we WILL be booking again in the future. Absolutely stunning place.

Great setting, very clean

Wonderful quiet place to relax. Very well maintained. I loved the shared living room and kitchen and the cosy fireplace. And of course the hot tubs.

Bedrooms around living room so young ones could go to bed whilst others socialised

The receptionist was very friendly and showed us our rooms. Which were really neat and quite comfy. The location was fantastic being really close to the beach

The shared kitchen and bathroom were clean and well equipped.

I think that if part of your street has been closed for 4 months, you should let guests know that. It would have saved us a lot of time, petrol, frustration at the end of a long day in the car. The double bed and the room felt extremely small.

The location was absolutely beautiful and would recommend it to everyone. Karen the owner was brilliant and so helpful

The facilities were excellant. The staff and other guests were very friendly.

Amazing place and very nice people who run it - Karen and Grant. Design of this lodge is very clever: you can have lots of privacy and at the same time enjoy well organized communal space. Everything is very clean. Hot tub was an unforgettable experience!

Very comfortable. Spotlessly clean in all areas. Well maintained grounds. Very well equipped kitchen. Warm fire and Very pleasant communal area.

I arrived 45mins early of check in time, very tired after a long drive. Not allowed even inside the building for a toilet or cuppa in the kitchen. But after staying a night I saw the heavy workload the lady had to manage as the sole person responsible for the lodge, check outs, clean the whole place and book the next guests in. The man again seemingly solo in maintaining the large grounds and maintenance so understood the need for firm 3pm arrival.

The location was quiet and we could appreciate the natural beauty of the area. The managers were very kind and the hot tub was wonderful. The common areas were spotless and well appointed.

Our room was tiny, the mattress was uncomfortable.

We had some issues finding The Old Bones due to road closure and satnav not knowing about it. It would pay to check for directions. Once there though we found Karen and Grant very friendly and helpful. Our room was fine, nice and clean, there's a communal area for cooking, eating or relaxing on a couch too. Bathrooms are shared with the other guests but very clean and well maintained. It's a short walk to the beach too.

The location was great and the overall feel of Old Bones Lodge is so so warm and inviting :)) Karen waited up to greet us as we arrived at 10:30pm.

It would be good to potentially think about putting in a late arrival procedure. It was amazing that Karen stayed up but also we felt bad knowing she had to. If there were some basic instructions and a location to grab the key that would be great. However the hospitality was amazing 10/10.

Good shower pressure, comfortable bed, hotvtub was excellent, good kitchen space, and the kitchen provided what we needed.

To be offered a spa at almost 7pm at night when it was meant to be finished operating an pit that time.

We loved the huge communal area. The kitchen was spotless and well equipped. The room was also comfortable. A great location close to town, coast and penguins!

We had lots of luggage so space in the room was limited (but not the fault of the lodge!)

We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was very welcoming and great to talk with. Nice common area and well-furnished kitchen. Bathrooms were very clean.

Cosy and comfortable stay with beautiful surroundings. The owner was so helpful with her suggestions on what to do in the area. The kitchen and living area were well equipped and beds very comfortable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat

The lodge was close to the town but remote en not to hear any traffic or cars, it had a great view of the ocean and beach and the grounds were beautiful. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed as was the common area. It was nice to have a fireplace for the evening.

The best value hotel in Aomaru! And you can easily get a sunrise at the sea if the weather match your itinerary. of course, there are always sunny days.

Lovely warm welcome by the owner. Walking distance to the beach & short drive to town. Very helpful with all our questions.
