All the staff were friendly and so helpful, made us feel so welcome. The rooms were clean and both rooms had lovely bathrooms.

Room 4 was at the back of the pub looking out over the back of the Inn. Unfortunately we could hear a humming all evening, which may have been an extractor fan and as woken at 4am this morning another louder noise that sounded like a washing machine. If you kept the windows closed and the blind or curtains drawn, this wouldn't be a problem but on a warm night as we've had, we had to open the windows. Room 7 Lovely cosy room with a small window overlooking the river, just watch your head as it has a step down into the bathroom!

Location and the river view. Staff very friendly in a relaxed, welcoming way. Lilly and James were both great but every member of staff was chatty and smiling but not obtrusive. Staff operate/help to operate the hand drawn ferry as well which is nice. From the moment you check in, you’re a part of the family.

We had breakfast and dinner there. Although the food was nice and pleasant, it didn’t blow us away. There’s a slight disparity between the level of service/facilities and the quality of food - which could be excellent but was only good.. burger just slightly too salty, chorizo at breakfast not crispy so chewy, cheap sausages, that kind of thing. Having said that, best chips ever, nicely cooked steak and PERFECT poached eggs!

The location and staff were exceptional. The fact the staff were prepared to stay late and cook me a meal even after clsoing made the place stand out to me and the food truly was delicious.

I struggled with the pillows, one was too soft and the other was too full.

Geweldige locatie direct aan de rivier de Wye. Van hieruit leuke wandelingen langs de rivier. Overdag is het er levendig met veel dagjesmensen. De bar van het hotel sluit om een uur of 10 en daarna is het snel rustig.

Een van ons is vegan, twee dagen dezelfde curry gegeten. Iets meer variatie of improvisatie van de kok zou prettig zijn.

The whole setup works well.

Extreme weather conditions meant for a very hot bedroom which we couldn't sleep in. The staff did supply a fan to combat the uncomfortable conditions. There was not much else they could do. Buy maybe air-conditioning units need to be installed for the future. This is just an observation and did not spoil our stay. I would recommend and would stay again.

Parking was tricky, but worth it.

perfecte locatie in de Wye vallei. Ideaal om de vallei te bezoeken. Heel mooie kamer (The Boat House), uitstekende ligging en heel rustig 's avonds. Leuk terras aan de kamer, én ook aan het hotel.

All In all it was okay but the room we had did have very squeaky floor boards which drove you mad when walking in the room. The evening meal was okay but not enough choice and ran out of some of the meals at the beginning of the evening with no other options.

There was no hot water in the shower. The boiler had tripped out and it was fixed, but too late for my first shower on arrival in hot weather

The room was very basic. Beds not comfortable. The room was very hot. Bathroom could do with cleaning around the edges of wall and floor. So called balcony facing overgrowth was full of spiders webs and dust.

Loved the setting and the full English breakfast was amazing. My husband used to be a fine dining chef and said one of the best breakfasts he's ever had! The evening food smelled lovely and the restaurant was pretty full so not bad for a Wednesday night.

We attended a funeral in Wales so was half way home and arrived at 8.15pm unfortunately the kitchen stopped serving at 8pm and we were starving and no other outlets near by serving food, so peanuts for dinner and then devoured breakfast the following morning. I would've paid a supplement for a river view room if known. Floor was wooden and very squeaky.

The Inn is lovely and the location on the wye River is beautiful this is a third stay and visit for food often . Perfect location the location is perfect when the crowds go home its the perfect peaceful place to sit with a drink and watching the life on the river .

At the weekends and holidays it gets very busy down at symonds yat and the car parking manager can get a bit stressed . But they always save you a parking slot .

Parking spaces were reserved for guests (using cones), a table is also reserved for dinner, too. Scenic views over the River Wye (recommend booking a room with view). Exceptional breakfast and evening meals (recommend ordering side of veg to share if you like your veggies). The staff were fantastic and friendy. There was a short power-cut during our stay (affecting whole local area), but they quickly ensured a full breakfast could still be enjoyed at next door hotel (they had a very large generator). Landlord was greatly apologetic, and staff very professional. He even opened a bottle of prosecco, served with breakfast as a guesture of goodwill. Excellent service provided to guests, a sign of great hotel.

Could have been 10/10, as the food was exceptional!!! Top tips for other travellers: Just would have benefited with local information on how to get around on foot, e.g. Yats Rock and viewpoint (start at Royal Lodge car park and their is a footpath signposted), and also woodland walk on otherside of river (start at Biblins rope bridge, cross river, follow signposts to Highmeadows trail leading to Seven Sisters rocks and King Aurthers Cave) and cross back using handpulled Ferryman.

Unrivalled location by the beautiful River Wye. The staff will go out of their way to help you. Fab food.

The rooms are clean but spartan - the corridors and stairs need an upgrade, especially the carpets

Ruhige und bequeme Unterkunft direkt am River Wye. Wir waren im Erdgeschoss im Boathouse und hatten ein geräumiges Zimmer mit einem großen Bad und toller Dusche. Das Essen im Inn schmeckt ausgezeichnet. Alle sind sehr freundlich.

Im Inn hat es an einer Stelle direkt neben dem Esstisch von der Decke getropft, sobald jemand im Zimmer darüber geduscht hat.

Lovely pub in a beautiful, peaceful location. Very friendly and accommodating staff and the food (both evening meal and breakfast, was extremely good!) The bathroom was recently refurbished and the room was very clean. They also offered free use of the hand ferry for residents. It is a great place for a peaceful getaway.

Overall it was a great hotel. Our room was a bit small and we didn't have a river view, so felt a bit expensive for what we got but overall the experience was great, we had a lovely break. We will recommend it to others and will return again.

Excellent location with river view. The room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. A table had been reserved for us in the restaurant which was helpful as it was busy, food was good - breakfast was excellent and all staff were super friendly. We stayed in room 12 which had air conditioning, the balcony seated 2 people and faced the river. Parking was reserved for us.

A beautiful location , beautiful view from the room with a Juliet balcony, lovely bright very clean room , nice bedding , extremely friendly staff , amazing breakfast.

The room was very hot , we had a small fan but it was too noisy to have on whilst sleeping, a quiet tower fan would have been better or air conditioning,and the bed creaked every time you moved .

WiFi didn't work the view was awful from the room and was only channel 4 available on the tv

Mattress was a bit soft and the shower didn’t have great water pressure. Fine for one night though.

All Staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the Boat House which was a lovely space and has stunning views. Restaurant was really lovely and food was excellent. Overall we had an amazing weekend. Highly recommended.

The location was idyllic - nestled on the banks of the Wye River amongst gorgeous surroundings. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the restaurant provided good food and service. The room was adequate and there was a private lounge area for residents to use. A full delicious breakfast in the dining room was included in the price.

Location is stunning! Our room was fabulous (room 12) spotlessly clean, a small balcony with great river views. The pub itself was lovely with great service from the staff. Their menu is small but perfectly cooked! We ate there 3 nights and we weren't disappointed.

No negatives really! A narrow lane to reach the pub and parking can be tricky. If you are staying though, cones save spaces for guests. We didn't have any problems.
