Very beautiful building and location
The location was good. Near to river walks and the butterfly zoo.
Our restaurant service was poor. There was food on the floor under some tables, which hadn't been cleaned up. We waited 25minutes after being seated then had to go back into the bar and ask to have our order taken. The lasagne I ordered was Luke warm, not very edible, obviously previously frozen. We ordered a pudding but never recieved it after another 25 minutes we gave up and left. The following morning we had water coming through the ceiling above the bed and onto the floor, soaking the carpet. Despite reporting it immediately, nothing was done. We had a neighbouring room, where loud TV was playing until 11.15 PM. All in all not a pleasant 2 days. We wont be back. Sorry.
Ordinary meals were brilliant.
Gluten free meals could use a little more imagination. Nothing wrong with them but a little bit more gluten free flare would be the icing on the cake.
Lovely Birthday stay at the Old Court Manor. The building is full of character and history built in 1570 with a stunning Tudor Dining Hall. Attic room was quirky and comfortable. Big Beer garden is pretty. Lots to do nearby. Staff were great. Gets very busy on wknd so book restaurant.
Would have liked to see salmon or seabass on menu but menu was good and cooked well and waitress staff were friendly. Lovely dining hall.
Lovely and warm welcoming staff.
Noisy room, creeky floorboards, bad coffee 😞 bags.
Character and good location to explore the area. The dining room is such a beautiful room. Breakfast is awesome
Room was a bit shabby and creaky but the rest made up for it
The staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice.
The bathroom in the room looked like it had a refurb, which was nice. However. The room was shabby as well as all the other communal spaces. We had some pipes that ran through the built in wardrobes. It sounded like we had a permanent water feature next to the bed.
Fabulous, friendly staff who did everything to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
A couple of the big four poster rooms are accessed by a complicated route through the old building which, whilst ok for us as the staff kindly helped us take our luggage up with our baby, those who are less physically able might struggle with it - just to note it would be useful on the room when booking.
Olde worldly, lovely gardens.
Everything was wonderful
Staff all great. Food also very good.
The double bed is too small for two people to have a good nights sleep.
The small four poster room was pretty. Good conservation efforts.
The rooms are tired, still pretty but in need of a good deep redecorate. Some floorboard attention would also be good. Some cracked floor tiles in the bathroom and a mouldy/marked extractor fan. We also felt that breakfast should be included.
staff were extremely friendly, accommodating and the location was lovely - dinner was also great
Fabulous location for Symonds Yat
Nothing
Staff were so helpful and friendly. We loved the gardens and the space. Room and beds very comfortable and clean.
Everything was great
Really helpful friendly staff. Great food. Lovely building. Proper pillows!!!
It was all great. The only drawback was that the plug in the bath leaked so the water was draining away.
Everything you wanted very good
Nothing
Great location: you can have a nice walking and kayaking holiday without getting in your car once, thanks to the bus stop nearby. And the food and drink is excellent, as is the big garden to enjoy it in. If you get bored of the pub you live in, there are a couple more options not far away.
Rooms are very small and basic. Goes with the historic building, I guess. Aircon would have been nice.
Beautiful building and garden, full of character. Dog friendly, Lots of outdoor seating. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Car park & electric cat charging available. Popular venue for locals. The water pressure in the shower was great!
The small compact double room was quite dated. The lower price probably reflects that though. No mention of vegan offerings on breakfast menu. Having to book breakfast the night before, so can’t decide in the morning.
het terras en de tuin
de kamer werd zeer warm (hittegolf), het raam kon niet open, er was slechts een fan. de bedden waren zeer zacht vooral heel engels ontbijt, dus beperkte keuze
The garden was absolutely stunning, huge space, kids play area and views across the fields. Close proximity to the Wye River and canoeing, and dead opposite the butterfly farm and mini golf so location was perfect. The interior of the hotel was a bit mismatched, in a half good way but also in need of some updates.
A few areas were run down, and the room itself was very small and not overly clean. It was fine but definitely needs some upgrades to it. It gets quite busy for food and drinks and unfortunately for our stay, they were slightly understaffed which meant a delay on drinks and service - however, the staff were all fantastic and very friendly.
Friendly staff, the history of the building, good location for exploring the area, great and outdoor space.
Rather disappointing breakfast for the money.
Liked everything about the property. Location, staff , food, prices
Beautiful atmospheric old hotel with a lovely terrace and garden. Restaurant appears to be very popular. Room was rather basic
Room was a little basic compared to the rest of the hotel
Location, staff, food was lovely.
Check in at 4, it should be 2 o'clock.
Location excellent gardens beautiful
I was in bedroom up 2 flights of stairs very rickety handrails and very hot only one small window
VEY VERY COMFY BED Ceiling fan in room Dinner menu and location Room serviced daily Freindly and attentive staff
Breakfast being £15 a day, as nice as it was, it didnt warrant the price, for what you actually got.
The location and gardens The breakfast was lovely Staff so friendly
The room is a little dated and needs some TLC Taxis are difficult to get but the hotel has a list ..book well in advance
Excellent accueil aimable très pro, la prise en charge rapide fonctionnel .
Rien qui puisse nous décevoir !
It gave castle vibes
Not being able to open most the of the windows.

Comfy bed, nice staff, great location
Gardeners waking me up at 8 am!
Lovely old building well maintained. Very friendly and helpful staff
The Victorian interior, the SNOAP! (Kinda weird, kinda cool)
A little noisy when people going up the stairs but understandable with an old building, didn’t bother us
The efficient service and ambience. Requesting fresh milk for room was not a problem.
The booking dot com descriptor i thought was bed and breakfast but found breakfast to be an extra.
Such a great place to land in Wales on the beautiful Wye River! Gorgeous historical building, check in open late, delicious breakfast, lovely place for a lunch stop as well, and great value!
Staff were brilliant, and 100% get the breakfast, it's delicious
Location & the garden
Bad food
Beautiful building, comfortable bed and really lovely staff
Nice area, hotel has a lot of old fashioned charm. Food was very good
The Hotel is in a great location. Staff very friendly. Dog friendly and a lovely garden to sit and relax.
One Bed Studio a little dated and SO many block capital laminated signs all over the Hotel... saying Don't do this, Don't do that etc. We couldn't follow all the instructions because the shower head in our room did exactly what it wanted to do and didn't follow the rules!!
Fabulous wye Valley location, easy to get to. Gorgeous old hotel oozing atmosphere. Great grounds and views. Extremely friendly, helpful staff. Smallish room was clean with modern shower room.
Bedroom basic but perfectly adequate. Food was quite expensive - fine for a meal out, but not a lot of budget bar food choice for a single person/quick bite
Comfortable bed Quiet place Early coffee in the morning
Room needs a bit of tlc but nothing major
The staff went over and above to make me and my dog welcome. The apartment had everything I required. It was peaceful. The hotel and apartments are within easy reach of fabulous walks along the Wye.
The kitchen in the apartment kitchen is very dated and rather tired. I ate in the hotel so I didn't need to use it much.
beautiful building, very helpful staff, loved the whole experience.
Shower cubicle a little small
Beautiful location and building, staff were so friendly and helpful. Arrived late in evening sbd rang to ask if any food needed before arrival as kitchens were closing.
Nothing at all about staff or property but residents were rather inconsiderate stomping up and down the stairs early in the morning before normal waking hours
Wonderful location and very convenient for commuters. Peacefully situated. Nice options on evening menu in bar and quality of food very high. Staff were lovely.
Plug sockets in room not in the best places but appreciate it is a very old building and wiring can't be the easiest thing!
Nothing to report.
Everything was as perfect as could be, excellent thank you.
The location and surrounding area
Nothing, it is a lovely building with history
Although it's a very old building and the corridor gives an outdated impression. The bed and crisp white linen were one of the most comfortable I've ever stayed in. And the bathroom is very modern, with a wonderfully powerful and hot shower. All the staff were incredibly helpful, and breakfast is well above par.
Location & ambience
All good
I liked the staff was friendly and helpful
The interiors, the location, the friendly and helpful staff, the size of our room and the way it was furnished. The size of the car park, the food.
The guests in the room above us were noisy
Garden views - Lovely room
No staff on site overnight - bar shuts early during off peak time of year
Excellent staff. Great food. Fabulous location. Easy parking.
We did book a 'compact room' and it was! Was fine for one night. Not a fan of the 'snow soap' especially for washing hair. Luckily I'd packed my own shower gel.
Location, interesting building , staff were friendly
Room we stayed in overlooked the garden but no voile curtain for privacy, had to draw curtains which wasn't ideal as it was daylight and hot. Good selection at buffet breakfast, disappointed with hot choice of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Extremely salty, salmon mixed in with the eggs which meant it was partially cooked, strange way to serve them. Evening meal, overcooked hake, very dry and new potatoes that had a texture suggesting, they had been sat or reheated . Such a shame as the menu had great choices.
Location excellent. Beautiful surroundings. Staff friendly. Breakfast was very good.
Staff friendly and helpful. Great pillows.
Room a bit old and needs a refurb. Bed needs replacing. Not very comfortable.
Comfortable bed and dog friendly. Great breakfast and good size dinner portions. Olde Wrld building with great patio and garden area.
Car parking spaces a little too narrow and short for modern cars. (Although plenty of spaces available.)
The staff were wonderful and welcoming, the Sunday roast was amazing .
We were warned about the noise in the vermilion room but the room was literally shaking. We couldn't hear each other and yes it really spoiled the night. Despite being warned we felt it was underplayed.
Delicious breakfast. Delightful staff
Lovely period building with original features, very quaint. quiet - even though we were above the bar. 5 minutes from the lovely forest of Dean and Symonds Yat etc. A lovely breakfast and fantastic staff.
Room a little tired, could have had more plug sockets for the modern world of charging devices etc. Shower could of had either a door/curtain or bigger screen to help prevent water getting on the floor.
The dinner service and setting were lovely, as were the staff.
The bar is very noisy late into the night (beyond 23:00 by the time things finally fell quiet) and because of where my room was I was kept awake by the din.
Great location , relatively comfortable
I did not like the soap dispensers in the bathrooms. They were difficult to use and did not dispense enough soap.
Staff
Springy bed
Location and easy parking. Lovely food. Friendly staff.
Duvet was too high a tog. Boiled! Extractor fan in bathroom appeared to be permanently on.
Brilliant Tudor house, it was a greatexperience
Nothing
Clean, nice staff, great breakfast.
Nothing worth mentioning.
Unique barn. Old stone main hotel full of character Very friendly for dogs Food was good. Huge portion of lamb ( couldn’t finish it)
Would like to have been on the ground floor which I had presumed from the pictures With a dog I’d prefer a side gate to walking round the entrance by the road
The fact that it’s a listed building and has so much character, quirky and different rooms and the gardens are amazing.
Nothing to dislike.
Excellent in every respect. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely building and room. Clean. Nice meal. Nice location. I even got an upgrade on my room.

Room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was extra but good. Room and facilities were good but room was cold in the evening. Outlook was very good. Bed very comfortable.
Some heating in the cold room.
Amazing dining room and very friendly staff
Friendly and efficient staff
Excellent hotel and spacious
Breakfast was all wright
Beautiful property, inside and out. Very clean and great facilities
Nothing.
Our evening meals were lovely especially the steak and sticky toffee pudding, the room was lovely and the views
Didn’t want to come home, such a lovely atmosphere
Frokost veldig god. Mange ulike frokost blandinger i små porsjons-esker. små marmelade glass i ulike smaker. Perfekt porsjon til en skive ristet brød.
Jeg har ikke noe dårlig å skrive. Her blei vi behandlet som viktige gjester alle sammen.
I liked the not only the history of the building, but also the layout. The room we stayed in was so clean, and gave me enough room to store our belongings. We got upgraded to a king room, which was a lovely suprise right from the start. We stayed in Gwillim, which was a gorgeous 16th century layout, and got given all the essentials needed within the room 😊. All staff members were absolutely lovely during our stay, and we are most definitely going to come back soon for another stay, since we aren't too far away. This place has been a special place for me, not only during my childhood, but also now, for my 20th birthday treat, and I'll definitely be coming back in years to come. Thank you again for the room upgrade, the lovely dinner, breakfast, and everything in-between. This place is a gorgeous hotel, and I'll be reccomending all my friends and family to stay here too! Just like the slogan says! 😆. We got served by a lovely desk lady, who gave us the room keys and helped us with any questions asked (sunday 12th) . We also got served by a lovely gentleman called callum, who was our server for dinner on sunday the 12th. And on the 13th, I got served breakfast by this lovely lady on the breakfast service (13th april) The staff members are as lovely as the properly! Most likely be seeing you all soon! Thank you so much again, - Emma Palmer x

Location is good, friendly and welcoming
Room very small, food overpriced for the quality
Lovely Building. Great Staff.
Parking spaces very small. However, there were plenty of them so parking not a problem and they did charge for it.
The property itself was exactly as expected. Full of charm and character with lots of original features
We loved the welcome we received. Very helpful staff and the room was really cosy. We felt like we'd stepped back in time. Magnificent foyer and building.
The shower tray wasn't draining very well, so I had to keep stopping the shower to let it drain otherwise it would have spilled over.
The staff were exceptional. Friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Food was good. Room very clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money
Stairs are quite steep and only gave handrail on one side. This is a problem to me as I only have limited use of one arm. But staff offered to carry my suitcase up ( even offered to get it from car fir me)
Every member of staff was exceptional, warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They even called ahead to check whether I’d like any food set aside, as I was due to arrive late after the kitchen had closed, which was a very thoughtful touch. The building itself, along with the bar and dining areas, is beautiful and full of charm, making it a really lovely place to spend time.
The only minor point worth mentioning is that I could occasionally hear a little movement from other guests in the corridor or nearby rooms. It certainly wasn’t a major issue and didn’t detract from the overall experience, but it’s the only small thing I noticed. Overall, the hospitality, character of the building, and atmosphere far outweighed this, and I would happily stay again.
Clean, interesting, great food and friendly, competent and engaging staff. They cared!
