The property is perfectly situation in the centre of town, with stunning views from the balcony over the lagoon and the town. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect view. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great for a two night stay. A small kitchen with a coffee machine and fridge, , sofa and additional balcony was a bonus.

A fantastic studio apartment overlooking the lake and ocean. Very central location with easy in street parking. Maria was a welcoming host and provided a clean space and lots of information about the town, places to eat and beaches to visit. The little balcony was great to sit on for an evening drink and watch the restaurants come alive. Would stay again.

A lot of steps up from the waterfront and the road but that’s expected for such a great view.

Nu am avut mic dejun. Dar proprietatea este situata intr-un loc superb, in centru , cu doua balcoane, unul spre lac si mare si altul spre oras. Este aproape de toate punctele de interes: plaje, centru, mijloace detransport, etc. Este un studio dotat cu tot ce e necesar pentru un concediu placut. Gazda a fost extrem de amabila si comunicativa.

Από τα ωραιότερα δωμάτια που έχω μείνει! Φανταστική θέα στην λίμνη από το μπαλκόνι! Το δωμάτιο ήταν πεντακάθαρο. Η ιδιοκτήτρια τα έχει όλα πολύ περιποιημένα, το δωμάτιο διαθέτει τα πάντα, σίδερο, πιστολάκι μαλλιών, βραστηρα, καφετιέρα. Τα στρώματα ήταν τέλεια, έκανα τον καλύτερο ύπνο που έχω κάνει σε ενοικιαζόμενο δωμάτιο! Η ιδιοκτήτρια πολύ ευγενική, πρόθυμη να μας δώσει πληροφορίες για την περιοχή. Μας είχε αφήσει και κεράσματα στο ψυγείο, και ήταν πρόθυμη να μας εξυπηρετήσει και τηλεφωνικά αν χρειαζόμασταν κατι κατά την διαμονή μας. Το δωμάτιο βρίσκεται ακριβώς στο κέντρο, πολύ κοντά σε 2 παραλίες.

Δεν υπάρχει κάτι που δεν μαρεσε στο δωμάτιο. Μόνο ότι το πάρκινγκ στην περιοχή είναι πολύ δύσκολο.

Absolutely beautiful property, fantastic view of the lake and the owner is a wonderful person! So well sited and very central. Very close to lovely restaurants, bars and main centre of the resort.

It was perfectly located for 10 days without a car. All was within a walking distance with tours and buses close to be able to explore the island further. The view was amazing and Maria could not of been more warm, welcoming and always on hand if ever we had a query or request.

Spędziliśmy w tym pięknym apartamencie dwie noce. Apartament znajduje się w samym centrum Agios Nikolaos, widok z balkonu jest niesamowity! Widać z niego jeziorko i morze, w okolicy jest pełno restauracji i róznych sklepów. Właścicielka bardzo sympatyczna i pomocna.

Le studio était encore mieux que sur les photos. L'emplacement est incroyable. Maria est une hôte super sympathique. Elle nous a donné plein de conseils de bons restaurants, balades et lieux à voir dans les environs. La kitchenette est petite mis bien équipée pour se préparer un bon petit dej à prendre sur la terrasse avec vue magnifique sur le lake.

Rien...on regrette juste de ne pas avoir pu rester plus longtemps !

Absolutely stunning views..beautiful clean , fresh , spotless apartment. .We had everything we needed in an apartment. Host was very helpful & was available to contact if we needed anything. A/C very efficient, blackout blinds excellent. And oh .. again what a spectacular view to wake up to. Central to everything including choice of beaches a short walk away. Just loved it!!! Cannot fault anything!!

A szállásadónk végtelenül kedves vot, rengeteg információval ellátott minket. A szállás tökéletes helyen van és fenomenális panorámával rendelkezik. Az ablakok nagyon jól sziggetelnek, még ha szól a zene is a városban.

Upon entering, what we appreciated most was the aesthetic sense and attention to detail in the apartment's design. A perfect example of this and of traditional Cretan hospitality was the welcome basket filled with an assortment of fresh fruits, cream cookies, various espresso capsules, and high-quality Twinings tea. It is a seemingly small touch that makes for a great welcome! Maria warmly greeted us and was always available to promptly answer our questions about the apartment, sightseeing, dining and even where to grab sandwiches for our flight back. The bed was exceptionally comfy and the location is breathtaking. Don't miss the chance to wake up early one morning, sit in the balcony and witness the amazing sunrise (see the attached picture).

Not a drawback, but just to levelset: we stayed on the second floor and the staircase is quite steep, so please climb slowly and safely. There is no problem finding free parking within a 300 meter range, but please note that, like many other similar properties, there is no private free parking available for this unit

Maria ist eine aufmerksame Vermieterin und hat immer tolle Tipps für die Gäste. Egal ob Restaurants oder Strände oder Ausflüge, jeder kommt auf seine Kosten. Wir hatten Top3 ganz oben. Der Blick auf den See ist sehr schön. An diesem.Platz tummeln sich die Einheimischen und Touristen. Früh schlafen gehen ist nichts. Am Besten einfach mitfeiern. Es gibt zwei Balkone, daher ist ein Frühstück im Schatten möglich. Agios Nikolaos ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Aktivitäten.

Ich bin kein Fan von Parken am Berg. Wir sind auf den Parkplatz am Hafen ausgewichen. Das geht allerdings nur, wenn kein Kreuzfahrtschiff im Hafen liegt.

The property was amazing in all respects , although we personally would have liked a microwave or a small portable hot plate to heat things . Eg milk for coffee or to boil and egg .

Our stay at these apartments was absolutely exceptional, and a huge part of that experience was thanks to the wonderful host, Maria. She is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and accommodating — truly one of the best hosts we have ever encountered. We had originally booked an apartment on an upper floor, but when Maria noticed my health issues, she kindly offered to move us to a lower floor to make things easier for us. This level of care and attention meant so much and made our stay far more comfortable. Maria also went out of her way to help us find a parking spot closer to the apartment, which was extremely helpful. On top of that, she shared fantastic recommendations for restaurants and local attractions, all of which turned out to be excellent. Her warmth, responsiveness, and genuine willingness to help made our visit unforgettable. We are deeply grateful — thank you so much, Maria! We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a truly welcoming and pleasant experience.

Het uitzicht vanaf het balkon op het Voulismenimeer is fantastisch. Maria was erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Het appartement heeft alles wat je nodig hebt.

Het was moeilijk om een parkeerplaats te vinden in de buurt.

Checkin was a breeze as is the location with a great view over the lake. Would definitely consider it again if we get down that way. Lovely experience all round.

Amazing view of the lake, overlooking the harbor and the restaurants below. The apartment is on the 3rd floor – very clean, nicely decorated, and includes a small kitchenette with a coffee machine, kettle, and fridge, plus tea and coffee capsules. The host is lovely, very helpful, and always available, she also arranged a parking for us outside the apparent. Important to note: there’s no elevator, and the spiral staircase is quite narrow, so it may be challenging with large suitcases.

Maria hat uns mit ihrer herzlichen Art sofort willkommen geheißen. Neben einer kleinen Führung durch das Apartment hat sie uns mit frischen Rosen und köstlichen Erdbeertörtchen überrascht und gab uns hilfreiche Tipps zu Restaurants, Bars, Stränden und Aktivitäten in der Umgebung. Das Apartment selbst ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und der Ausblick über die Bucht – besonders bei Sonnenaufgang – war einfach traumhaft. Vielen Dank für alles, liebe Maria – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

דירה במיקום הכי טוב באגיוס ניקולאוס. טיילנו בכריתים למשך חמישה לילות. חילקנו את השהייה לשני לילות בחרסוניסוס ושלושה לילות באגיוס ניקולאוס, החלוקה היתה מצויינת והדירה היתה מקום יציאה מצויין לטיולים במזרח האי. מרייה בעלת הדירה מקסימה, מסייעת בכל דבר שצריך. ממליץ בחום

The place was fantastic, we stayed in the studio apartment top floor, while there were several stairs to climb the view was spectacular. Our host Maria was very helpful and the location was perfect. We don’t normally spend time in our room but we did at this place on the balcony overlooking the lake and harbour.

La grande porta a vetro che da accesso al balcone presente in camera da letto sembra essere un quadro dipinto a mano da cui è semplicemente impossibile distogliere lo sguardo. L'appartamento risulta inoltre essere molto pulito, ben arredato e funzionale, la gentilezza e l'ospitalità della proprietaria sono state superlative!!

Αν πρεπει να πω κατι αρνητικό θα ελεγα πως η διαρρύθμιση του χώρου δεν ήταν η καλύτερη και ότι η πρόσβαση είναι μόνο με σκάλες.

L'appartamento è confortevole e nuovo, dotato di tutto il necessario. Oltre alla posizione eccezionale, gode di una vista bellissima. Maria è una host gentilissima e disponibile, grazie ancora! Che aggiungere? Consiglio vivamente per il soggiorno ad Agios.

La struttura si trova in pieno centro, nel punto più panoramico della città. L’appartamento è grande e molto pulito. La proprietaria è stata davvero molto gentile, ci ha consigliato un bellissimo itinerario e tanti posti non eccessivamente turistici da visitare.

The place is absolutely amazing, and all the positives in previous reviews are 100% true! The apartment is beautiful, Maria is the best host one could imagine and the stunning view is indeed the best in Agios Nikolaos. But what stole my heart were the little touches: herbs on both balconies that smelled amazing (and you could snatch a leaf of mint to flavour your water) or the fact that the shampoo and shower gel, rather than the usual cheap hotel thing, were a local organic brand (and excellent). Will definately go back!

From my point of view everything was great, but the specific apartment I stayed in (top floor) would not be appropriate for people with reduced mobility or disability (stairs).

Πολύ καθαρό και ευρύχωρο δωμάτιο με απίστευτη θέα τη λιμνοθάλασσα! Το σημείο είναι πολύ κεντρικό και με τα πόδια βρίσκονται όλα τα εστιατόρια και οι παραλίες άμμος κτλ. Η ιδιοκτήτρια πολύ ευγενική και πρόθυμη να βοηθήσει. Το κοντινότερο πάρκινγκ μόλις λίγα μέτρα είναι το 1ο γυμνάσιο Αγίου Νικολάου ( το καλοκαίρι το προαύλιο μετατρέπεται σε δωρεάν δημόσιο πάρκινγκ). Κάναμε την καλύτερη επιλογή!

Emerald Lake Studios is a true gem. The top-floor apartment may be the smallest in the building, but the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a breathtaking view and a beautifully renovated, tastefully furnished space. It has two balconies, perfect for soaking in the scenery, and the cutest tiny kitchen — complete with a fridge stocked with water and a Nespresso machine with coffee cups. Our hostess, Maria, made the stay extra special. Warm and welcoming, she used to live here as a child, and you can feel the love she’s put into the place. She greeted us with a fruit basket, provided aromatic shower supplies in the lovely tiled bathroom, and shared great tips for restaurants and excursions. There’s even a 15% discount for a great breakfast spot nearby. Daily cleaning keeps everything spotless, and when it was time to leave, I received a thoughtful gift (I won’t spoil the surprise — you’ll just have to find out yourself!). All in all, Emerald Lake Studios combines incredible views, charming comfort, and genuine hospitality — a place you’ll remember long after your trip. PS: If you come by car there is free parking in the streets. During summer holidays the nearby school opens its school yard as a parking, also no charge (which would be a good idea, if that earns a school some money).

The best place ever. Really. First of all Maria is the best host u can ask for. She waited to personally meet us, kept us a place for a car in front of the building, greeted us with nothing but a smile. Gave us tips of restaurant (ate only in those the whole time and all were AMAZING), gave us tips on trips and what to see around during our stay. The room is everything you are looking for and felt super comfy. thought of all the smallest details. And the view is the cherry on top, spent all our evenings in the balcony. Thank you, Maria, for making us feel so welcomed and for having us at your beautiful place!

What an amazing place to stay! An excellent property. The hostess is sensitive to needs, and hospitable. It is a quiet place with an amazing view of the lake. Highly recommended property right in the midst of all the action in Agios Nikolaus. Restaurants and shopping right outside the door.

This apartment is very well equipped, super clean, in a wonderful location in the very centre and with a stunning view on the lake (in the morning, you can see a beautiful sunrise from the big terrace). The owner, Maria, was a wonderful host. She gave us plenty of suggestions and itineraries to discover beautiful beaches around Agios Nikolaos and the east/south of Crete. We had a very good time and hope to come back soon! 😊

Location was spectacular with a balcony overlooking the lake. We were there during Easter and were able to experience the Saturday night pageantry from our balcony. Maria made it extra special for us and let us know when things would happen. She also gave us great tips for things to do in the area. The kitchenette was great for having breakfast and coffee.

Where do I even begin? Our stay here was nothing short of extraordinary—truly one of the most magical travel experiences we’ve ever had. Despite our very late arrival, Maria greeted us with genuine smiles, a home-cooked dinner, a bottle of wine, and thoughtful breakfast supplies to get us started the next morning. It was such a generous and heartwarming welcome after a long journey. The room itself was perfectly cosy and comfortable, but the view—oh, the view! It felt like we were floating right on the lake. The peacefulness, the colours, the stillness—it was absolutely mesmerising. I honestly don’t think you could find a better outlook anywhere in Agios Nikolaos. Maria consistently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. She shared fantastic local recommendations, from hidden gems to must-visit spots, and even made restaurant reservations on our behalf. Her kindness and attention to detail made all the difference. We were lucky enough to be there over the Easter weekend and got to witness the local Easter celebrations from our balcony—a spiritual and unforgettable experience that gave us such a deep connection to the place and its people. Leaving was the hardest part. If you have the chance, definitely book the top floor room—it’s worth every moment. We can’t recommend this beautiful place, or Maria’s incredible hospitality, highly enough. Ps: book the restaurant next door - it’s amazing too!

Great view on the lake. I was on the impression they have parking but no at all and not easy to find if you arrive by car. This is a challenge because their place is right on the center.

Must stay place in Agios Nikolaos! Spacious apartment situated in the most beautifully area of the city. Very well equipped covering all your needs. The bedroom has a sling wall which brings you to the balcony with beautiful lake view. The host Maria is amazing! She provided us with very detailed information about the aria, restaurants and what is the best way to plan one of our trips! When visiting the area definitely this is going to be our place to stay again!

We loved our stay at Emerald Lake Studios. The apartment was perfect for the two of us. The location was the best in Agios Nikolous. We have stayed in many VRBO’s and Maria is one of the best hostesses we have ever had. She saved a parking place for our arrival. She set up a taxi for a day trip and arranged our transport to the airport. She even came in on a Sunday morning to see us off.

It was perfect, the location was magical.

Best view over Emerald Lake that you could get for a place. Wonderful friendly and informative host (MARIA) who met us at arrival and gave us the keys and information about restaurants and things in the area. Place is a coffee machine with Illy pods, a sink and a back deck to hang wet towels. Great view over the lake with chairs. A great place to hang out. Nice decor and clean. Clean washroom. Parking for the car was by the free PORT parking lot which was a short 8 minute walk with suitcases. Not a problem at all. Shower was good with lots of hot water. Good bed, bedding and towels. Plenty of room to put your things, Lots of coffee options around. Avoid the restaurants located right on the lake as they are too expensive for what you get and there are many other much better places to eat and have drinks nearby. Do some research and support othe rlocal places. The food is always better and it is less expensive, Everything was great!

Super accueil de Maria, elle nous a donné toutes les informations nécessaires pour notre séjour à Agios Nicolaos. L'appartement était très confortable avec une vue de rêve; le lit de très bonne qualité, sur les photos on voit un lit double composé de deux lits simples mais en réalité il y a un sur matelas pour ceux qui comme moi n'aiment pas la separation entre les deux lits; coin cuisine pas sur les photos avec frigo, cafetière nespresso, théière, tasses, verres. Nous sommes restés deux nuits et le nettoyage a été fait après notre première nuit. L'emplacement est idéal, proche de vraiment tout, plein de restaurant et magasins aux alentours, d'ailleurs le petit magasin du même immeuble est géré par le frère et la belle soeur de Maria, il y a de très jolis accessoires. Parking gratuit sur la route pas difficil à trouver en tout cas en mai

The top floor apartment has an excellent aspect. It is light and airy and pleasingly decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

There was nothing negative to say except perhaps if you had mobility problems climbing many stairs might be a problem with luggage. Absolutely worth the climb once at the top.

Our host Maria was super helpful and gave us lots of tips for our stay. She met us on arrival and even got a parking space for us! The apartment was lovely and we had a great view from the balcony. The town was maybe not quite as nice as some of the other places we stayed in Crete but it wasn’t fully up and running yet for the season so that might have been a factor. However there are lots of really nice places to visit nearby if you have a car. There was a fabulous restaurant 2 minutes walk away from the apartment called To Potiraki with great food reasonably priced.

Just be aware that the apartment only has a very small kitchen (kitchenette) with limited facilities. Given all the nice restaurants nearby, for most people this should however not be an issue!

Excellent location right in the centre of town with a superb view over the lake, but the apartment was quiet and we slept well. Maria was very friendly and informative. Ours was the lowest apartment but still quite high up (above a shop and Maria's office). Entry from a busy street but the balcony view was on the other side over the lake with very little road noise.

We knew there was no lift, only narrow stairs so that was not a problem for us but it could be a problem if you cannot carry suitcases up stairs.

This cute and cozy apartment was a great size, with one balcony facing the lively (but not too loud) city street and another facing the beautiful lake and its surrounding restaurants/hotels/shops. It was in an excellent location, just steps away from the closest restaurants, a few minutes from shops, and a few more minutes to the beach. Maria was an excellent hostess that went above and beyond. She took the time to familiarize us to the area and recommend her favorite nearby restaurants and beaches. She always asked us how things were going whenever we saw her and offered assistance as needed. I even asked her about nearby parking, and she saved us a spot right in front of the building upon our arrival! It was not expected but very greatly appreciated.
