The location is pretty far from the town center, you need to walk about 20 minutes. The hotel is very basic, but the price isn't high either, so it's a fair compromise.

Pour Malacca, une ville où l’on peut tout faire à pied il est préférable de prendre un hôtel dans le centre. L’hôtel Vrest est dans une zone excentré, il est nécessaire de faire les déplacement en taxi. La salle de bain mériterait une rénovation.

On the first photo on Booking was a room with a window, but our room didn't have a window, that was a bit confusing and they should remove that photo from the add.

TV channel limited to six channels only, but it is ok because the WiFi is good to watch YouTube, Netflix via mobile phone.

Reviewed Sep 11, 20251. Central location: it was within 15mins walk/6mins drive to Jonker Street area. It's also close to several locally popular eateries e.g. Asam Pedas Claypot, Pak Putera's Pakistani food etc. 2. Comfortable bed and clean room. There were water filter machines on every floor. It was quite spacious for two as well. Worth the cost. 3. Peaceful area, away from the city noise 4. Super friendly and helpful receptionist. Always ready to give tips!
1. Only two power points in the room, which was not centrally located so it was a minor inconvenience. However, this can be easily solved by requesting for extension cord from the receptionist. 2. The sound-proofing can be better. Sometimes can hear people closing doors, or walking in the corridor 3. The toothpaste was too small. Could only be used twice before it finished. Receptionist was very kind to give us more.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2025Location of VREST HOTEL MELAKA was away from the busy city center, so it was quieter and more relaxing. There are many restaurants and eateries close by VREST HOTEL too - directly opposite it were Bai Wei Kopitiam, Miller's Kitchen Restaurant (Western), as well as a 24-hour VWASH LAUNDRY. Nancy's Kitchen (a Peranakan restaurant) was a mere 5-mins walk away, as was CARING PHARMACY, a Japanese restaurant (JOBUSHI IZAKAYA), NATURE VEGGIE (Vegetarian food), and THE KAM CHENG (a pricier Peranakan restaurant near Swan Garden Hotel Melaka).
Noisy neighbor next to my room at the Hotel. NOT the Hotel's fault obviously!!

Please have a look room 303 - Aircon not working only fan running. Need to service your split unit aircon. Wall light not working. Toilet hand basin grouting silicon black mouldy. Hot water on and off sometime cool and sometimes warm. Staff very politely and always keep smiling and so helpful as they know many for 4th time visit. Will come back again here Thank you
