Reviewed Aug 20, 2026Excellent emplacement. Les douches sont collectives mais c'est propre et bien tenu. J'ai quasiment tout fait à pied.
J'avais une chambre simple, c'est minuscule c'était annoncé donc pas de souci sur ce point) mais je ne m'attendais pas à ce que ce soit aussi bruyant. Dans votre chambre ou dans les douches vous entendez absolument tout ce qui se passe dans la maison, et comme ma chambre donnait sur la rue j'entendais aussi les voitures passer. Personne pour faire le check-in, j'ai sonné sans succès et fini par joindre l'hôte via WhatsApp (si vous n'avez pas de connexion internet passez votre chemin).et je ne l'ai croisé que le lendemain. Ce sont d'autres clients qui m'ont expliqué les douches, l'eau filtrée etc ; je n'ai jamais vu une telle désinvolture ... ou une telle confiance si on le dit positivement car je n'avais pas encore payé.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Almost everything was great ! The location is perfect in a quiet place, the owner is very kind, the shared place is welcoming, the bathrooms are clean and convenient, the 4-beds dormitory is ok, the bunk-beds are very good with space to put your stuff.
The only main bad point is that it's allowed to smoke on the common area even if it is half-opened and very close to the dormitory. To be noticed that they changed the towels everyday and they get into bed to take them. They even changed the bed sheets and pillowcase after 3 nights (we stayed 4), moving all our stuff. When staying in a hostel I like my bed to be kind of private. Nothing prohibitive, I strongly recommend:)

Reviewed Aug 6, 2026The price is absolutely on the sweet spot. The facilities suffice for me. The location is near every hotspot. The place is really well taken care of. The staff is kind, responsive and very helpful. It's definitely a place I will continue to reside in the next time I come to Melaka.
Just don't like that we can't bring food into the rooms, but that's just me. Everything else is spot on.

Juste un plaid comme couverture est un peu juste avec la climatisation qui est très fraîche. La chambre est aussi très petite pour y mettre 5 personnes. A noter que des moustiques traînent dans l'espace commun qui est ouvert sur l'extérieur (la stagnation d'eau favorise leur reproduction sur place).

Vi hade lite svårt att hitta i när vi anlände sent på kvällen. Även när vi skulle hämta upp våra resväskor som vi fått lämna på boendet under dagen för utcheckning (så bra) hade vi svårt att komma in i lokalerna.

You're allowed to smoke in the common area inside, there is an open roof, but it was still a bit smoky. The single rooms are right near the entry and exit so you get a lot of noise from people going in and out at all hours.

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026Franchement c’est l’un des meilleurs hostels que j’ai fais : lits incroyables et spacieux , douches propres, zone commune très bien, petits lockers pour les objets à protéger… bref incroyable et en plus de cela hyper bien situé dans la ville on est à quelques minutes à pieds de tout !
Léger bémol il y avait un frigo mais uniquement pour les boissons donc pas possible de garder un peu de nourriture

Reviewed Jun 26, 2026Sam ist super lieb und hat mir alle Wünsche erfüllt! Das Hostel ist super sauber, es gibt einen Trinkwasserspender und im Aufenthaltsraum Bücher und Gesellschaftspiele. Die Lage ist super, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in unmittelbarer Nähe.
Es gibt kaum Stauraum im Zimmer, da wäre ein Regalbrett am Bett super um ein paar Sachen abzulegen.

Fußläufig zu allen Highlight und auch zum Nightmarket - Achtung am Wochenende gibt Grab an, dass dort nicht hingefahren werden kann, weil der Bereich gesperrt ist. Das ist tatsächlich nicht der Fall. Es geht. Dauert aber auch überall hin recht lange, weil eigentlich immer Stau herrscht in der Stadt. Klimaanlage und Ventilator im Zimmer, saubere Badezimmer und ein schöner Gemeinschaftsbereich mit Büchern und anderen Sachen. Es gibt Annehmlichkeiten wie Wasser und Shampoo und Duschgel für jeden.
Etwas schwierig zu finden, weil es nicht als Hostel ausgegeben wird sondern lediglich ein Schild für das Café zu sehen ist. Also auf den ersten Blick ;-) das muss man ggf wissen.

He runs it in an easygoing and helpful fashion and the atmosphere is relaxed. An example of the thought he has put into it is that the charging sockets will accept a variety of international plugs.

Reviewed Mar 27, 2026From the moment of arrival Sam, the congenial owner, makes everyone feel relaxed and welcome! The room is nicely and thoughtfully arranged. The addition of 1 beverage a day being offered at a discount in the cafe for room guests is a nice perk and Sam makes delicious beverages. There is a pleasant communal area where guests converge for conversation, reading, sharing drinks and planning activities. I attribute the wonderful vibe to Sam, the owner - he lays the groundwork for bringing out the best in us guests at Ola - thanks Sam!

Reviewed Mar 25, 2026Great large room (private room), very clean, with a very large and comfortable bed, good air-conditioning and fan, overlooking the beautiful front street and it's very quite at night. The host is very kind and helpful. The common seating area and the whole premises is tasteful and peaceful. The toilets/showers and washbasins are good sized and cleaned regularly.
The common seating area is an open air space which means it gets very hot and humid. My bedroom was great but the window frames, when closed, leave a relatively big gap around them, which allows heat and mosquitoes to come through and there is very visible dampness on the walls around them.

Anfangs waren nur 2 Duschen, was mir sehr wenig vorkam. Einen Tag später hat der Vermieter die Duschen repariert. 👍

Vorhandener Kühlschrank darf nur für Getränke genutzt werden. Essen von außerhalb wird nicht gerne gesehen. Das sind wir aus anderen Hostels anders gewöhnt und hätten es uns anders gewünscht, da wir nicht gezwungen sein wollen, als junge Reisende, alle Mahlzeiten in Restaurants zu uns nehmen zu müssen.

Reviewed Feb 22, 2026The energy of the place is very positive. The location is just perfect. The bed is comfortable. The shower and bathroom are spacious and clean. They have bicycles for rent . The owner is a unique super cool character with his own timing and style. Sometimes requires to be a bit patient’)
The only downside for me was that the patio that is cute but small semi open is a smoking area as well . Sometimes the smoke can go through under the door and get in ur room . Plus if u aren't a smoker as soon as someone starts smoking it ruins the mini space for you .

Reviewed Feb 11, 20261.位置狠好，如果从新加坡大巴来的可以在casa del rio melaca下车，走到ola大概五六分钟～到鸡场街两三分钟，所有景点都是步行可达！ 2.跟周边青旅比价格性价比很高！我住的5人间布置特别用心，有两瓶水、沐浴液洗发水、还有浴巾，隐私也很好～床垫舒服，有两个枕头～ 3.小而精致，有点复古工业风，老板温柔细致！
无！虽然我觉得马六甲不太有趣……
