What a beautiful house...it was well equipped and amazingly layout.

It was clean with a fully stocked kitchen for self catering. The beds were comfortable with water bottles and electric blankets to keep warm considering the weather

Views amazing, house cozy, host friendly and willing to help, city is beautiful, and location 10m from Golden View route.

House is not ready for cold, much less for windy conditions, I know it’s quite unusual in Clarens with 300 days of sun, but it bad weather hits, be ready for restless sleep.

Stank of old cigaratte smoke. To be fair there are lots of no smoking signs and rules and this is clearly a prior tenant breaking those rules, but still unpeasant. No towels for 2/4 occupants. Driveway quite washed out and may be difficult for some vehicles to access.

The property itself was lovely, the fireplace and small details were amazing and it should have made for a wonderful time away

There is absolutely no one available to assist if other guests are rowdy and we had ongoing parties and noise from guests above us - we didn’t sleep much and had no assistance - Lizelle didn’t even respond to my message after we left and expressed our disappointment

Loved everything, the stay was amazing for our family of 8. The view is so beautiful

The set up,extra hot water bottle and the apartment is quite tightly on security and kids friendly

Very clean, lovely staff members they’re very helpful..I loved the serenity. Very peaceful atmosphere, the deco is also beautiful. Very safe also for your car and belongings.

There was a mould like smell when we entered the house

Lots of noise from footsteps of the guests in the above apartment. Light globes too bright. Hot blanket too small for the bed, I put my dressing gown across the cord which ran along the mattress to the hotblanket

Spacious, clean house

May you please put stickers/ warning on the clear sliding doors? My colleague wanted to switch off the light and went straight through the sliding door, thinking that it was the open part. Fortunately, he didn't get hurt, but it could have been worse. Children could easily be hurt. Now, I could be paying for a broken glass, which was not out of negligence. I feel that it should not only be me paying for the cost (the owner must also share in the cost)

We had a fantastic stay at Golden View. Everything was perfect. The place was also perfectly insulated which made the cold and rainy days a breeze to bear. The view from the kitchen window is stunning. Will certainly stay at Golden View again in the future!

Clean,comfortable, well equipped. Hot water and super comfy beds.

Nobody's fault but our own. Dad is elderly and has difficulty walking on uneven ground and unfortunately took a tumble. We would have been better off not staying in the unit on a slope. However, lesson learned. Will have to ensure booking in the future that units are on even ground.

The view is nice if you sit outside but unfortunately all doors and windows are covered in plastic foil which completely takes the view away when you are indoors, it also creates a poky atmosphere. The interior is good, nice bed, the kitchen complete. Location is good as well.

Previous guests sigarette buds and a tampon wrapper on the deck. Staff obviously didn't clean properly. Some of the crockery and cutlery wasn't cleaned properly. Shower is a bit weird. Difficult to get perfect water temp. Either to hot or cold

Amenities were fantastic.

The road was not great to get into the property.

Place was easy to find and it was close to town. Liked the verandah with a bit of a view. It was clean and had enough of what was needed.

The shower being in a bathtub was a challenge for the 76 yo lady, who's birthday we were celebrating. It was too high for her to get into. Perhaps it could also be mentioned that the main room has a wall to wall bed, which means it has to be accessed from the bottom - which is also challenging to older people.

The house was really lovely. Absolutely clean and tidy. Very comfortable. Breathtaking views. The garden was beautiful.The staff were very kind and friendly. All in all it was 2 days, well spent .

The braai area was not covered . We could not use the area because it was raining so heavily. It would have been better if the rooms had ensuites. Some like their privacy. The rooms were lacking dress mirrors and just one room had a vanity area. Lastly , it was very hard for our vehicle to enter and exit the place because of the holes and rocks as you coming out of the gate. That should be a priority!

We really enjoyed our stay and the location was good. A lovely property with great gardens and mountain view.

Not accessible for wheelchairs and disabled people who use a walker. It was difficult for the 86 year old lady to get from the driveway up to the front door and then the reverse at the end of our stay. No rails in the shower to assist the elderly. No complimentary toiletres, eg hand soap. Instant coffee would have been nice. No instructions available to use the coffee machine.

Check in was easy. We had good contact with the landlady Clarens is a beautiful little town. We walked to the center.

How the staff was so impatient with us

The place is highly recommended. With a breathtaking view and more than expected amenities, we had a lovely time.

There was a challenge to regulate the hot water in the shower. Not something that would keep me from coming back, though.

When we arrived, our accommodation was occupied by another group who had mistakenly taken our keys from the self check-in lockbox, which resulted in a disappointing first impression. However, Lizelle handled the situation professionally and worked quickly to resolve the issue, although we did have to wait outside for a while. Aside from this initial inconvenience, the property is absolutely stunning and a wonderful place to enjoy quality time with family. We would definitely consider returning in the future.

The house is like a container. The sun beats down on most of the rooms making it feel like a sauna in the day with no air conditioning. The place isn't well maintained either... Floors chipped, fridge rusted, coaches tethered and shower trickles water. Left 4 days sooner! I really feel pictures are misleading with some sort of filter! Will not recommend to worst enemy.

The bed was very comfortable and the unit spacious

The ceiling above is the floor of the top unit, therefore with kids running upstairs, it totally spoiled our sleep. The bath is also the shower, and very slippery....

Golden View's location is superb with majestic views overlooking the Eastern Freestate's mountains. It was also perfectly located to drop our group of teenagers in town for them to meander back on their own!

The home and the property were beautiful and peaceful. We were very comfortable here, if only for the one-night stay. It was a short walk to town, where there were many options for restaurants and shopping. We also drove out to Golden Gate Park to view the animals. The beds were very comfortable, and the showers were hot with good water pressure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for your hospitality!

The views and location were amazing - Was very happy to find that the photos of the property matched the property upon arrival, if not better ! Close enough to the centre of town but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. The staff that serviced the unit everyday were very friendly and quick and the management were on hand at all times and checked in regularly to ensure everything was going well. Would recommend and will be back - Thank you

The beds were lovely and comfortable with warm blankets and duvets for the cold weather. The kitchen was also well equipped for making food. The property is close enough to town to walk, which is great.

The gate entrance for the cottage is not the one shown in the picture online and it’s a very steep slippery driveway when it has been raining. There is also very limited space to park at the top and it’s difficult to turn if you have a large SUV with a bike rack on the back.
