Room decor very dark, no shaving mirror, not enough light in the room, no support rails in the bath tub (danger of slipping while getting out)

It’s no secret that I love Tivano Italian Michelin restaurant in the Upper House Chengdu. The chef’s special Zappa di Funghi mushroom soup and the vibrant acidity tomato flavor in the ricotta dish were both an absolute master piece. Every single bite was a delight. Kids love the steak and the truffle kissed mashed potato. Landon, Nina, and CESC were fantastic. They were incredibly welcoming, kept our drinks filled and anticipated our every need. Exceptional service, warm attitude!

The rooms are amazingly stylish but the darkness makes getting ready harder for over 40s. Breakfast was well behind the best we experienced in China.

The breakfast was excellent, The buffet spread was already very good but we were given an additional list of dishes that we could select from. I don't think anyone could ask for a better breakfast.

I think there should be better directions and more signage. we had difficulty finding the Lobby when we first arrived.

Superb location, beautiful design and an amazing welcome from all the hotel team, with really thoughtful and personalised service. The hotel absolutely deserves its high accolades.

The hotel is located in the best part of the city center and surrounded by shops, restaurants and for every taste and wallet imaginable; the hotel has it all; our room was specious, well-designed for a family of four, with large balcony and high end amenities. The client experience here is above all- exceptional. Our personal Butler Christin took care of every single wish or question. The ability to execute complex requests and bookings- best I have seen in my experience.

Комфортная огромная кровать, шикарное постельное белье и одеяло. Ванная комната и коридор выполнены в темных тонах. На Завтраке можно посидеть на улице во внутреннем дворике. Завтрак вкусный, все продукты свежие и отличного качества. Есть разные виды кухни. При отеле я ходила на Спа на два часа массажа. Он великолепный! Рекомендую! В отеле есть итальянский ресторан с чудесным тирамису и моцарелла с томатами. Пицца меня не воодушевила. Персонал отличный, внимательный и помогает в случае проблем. Я не сразу смогла оплатить за отель, у меня оказался лимит на карте моего банка и они мне пошли на встречу взяв депозит в долларах и остаток я оплатила картой на следующий день. Рекомендую этот отель для отдыха новым гостям!

Room is not clean enough. I am sensitive and I have nose allergy immediately when I entered the room. Very noisy as well at 8:30 sharp with loads of construction work nearby . Windows aren’t sound proof enough . Cant sleep properly

We stayed in a Temple Suite and absolutely loved it. The room was large, spotless, and very comfortable — with free snacks, soft drinks, and even beer, which was a lovely touch. The bathroom was excellent and the beds incredibly comfortable. The staff were outstanding, especially Dennis, who went above and beyond to help us book trips and recommend great places to visit. The whole hotel has a fantastic atmosphere, with a stylish bar area, good music, and great food choices. The location couldn’t be better — it’s within walking distance of so many sights and lively areas. It was the perfect stay in Chengdu and we’d highly recommend Upper House to anyone visiting the city.

Honestly, we loved everything about our stay.

Excellent service. The staff was very helpful with returning key from my previous hotel that was 4.5 hr.away. The property is beautiful and couldn’t be in a better location. Breakfast offering is fantastic. And also we were upgraded to a bigger room with much nicer view.

I don’t particularly like the lighting arrangement in the room. It’s a bit tricky to figure out where the switches are, and for which spots. The toilet stall is very dark and it’s quite impossible to go at night without waking the other person. Also it would be much more practical if the toilet is a Japanese type, or at least a install a sink in the stall.

Amazing property - location perfect for shopping. Room was also great - stayed in a two-bedroom apartment - had kitchen and washing machine which helped. Staff was super efficient - nothing was to much. Breakfast was special and there is also an Italian restaurant on site which is brilliant.

The location was fabulous and the hotel very modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean with a free minibar except for the wines. Strawberries were a nice touch. While we enjoyed the stay overall, we didnt feel it provided the full value for the price we paid.

The bathroom layout was a bit odd and not easy to use. The view from the room was overlooking a really bad area of the city. The wifi was very slow and this was annoying.

Stunning hotel everything was perfect

The hotel gave a surprise birthday cake for my wife without our knowing. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.

The toilet and the bathrooms are a bit dark.

The hotel’s bathroom design is hazardous when taking a bath. The walls are very dark and narrow, and there are too many sharp edges. In addition, the floor tiles are not properly fixed and feel a bit shaky. My spouse had a bad experience during our stay — she fell inside the bathroom while taking a bath.

The facility was very good, but the view outside of the window was not pleasant. I know its not the hotel's fault not sure anything they can do to improve it.

Amazing nice place. The staff is top class! So friendly, helpful and correct. We had some odd requests, such as local Chinese treatments, acupuncture. Then a breakfast bag to go at very early departure. Nothing was to difficult for them. The hotel is beautiful and calm. Very good location, the Italian restaurant is great as well. Very pleasant stay! Thank you staff and crew of this pearl. Chengdu was a very positive surprise!

Nothing to say. I would possible like a more nice view from the room, facing the shopping center village that is very cosy and great. But not sure if that was an option. This is just a very nice and comfortable place. Bravo!

We stayed at The Temple House for 2 nights (unfortunately) in a Studio 60 room. I say unfortunately as Chengdu is an amazing city that we would have loved to have spent more time at and The Temple House is such a great accommodation space we would have loved to have spent more time there too. Right down to the architectural design of The Temple House, to the accommodation, to the staff, it was just wonderful. We also ate at their Michelin Star vegetarian restaurant, Mi Xun Teahouse, twice as it was so good. If we go back for another to China we will definitely add Chengdu and The Temple House to our itinerary.

The location is fab. So convenient and a foodie’s dream. Staff super polite and efficient. Helpful. Friendly. We stored our baggage with them when we made a short trip to Chongqing.

一切都很好，唯獨需要外賣的服務不是很好，需要自己下樓通過露天的走道到門口外賣櫃領取，感覺不是很好，不方便！

We had a fantastic stay at Temple House. The property is atmospheric and very conveniently located in a vibrant part of Chengdu. The concierge team make the experience very personal, helping to book tickets for attractions and even getting us meal tickets for restaurants so that we didn't need to wait in line. The service and attention to detail set Temple House apart from other high end hotels we stayed at in China. The pool is beautiful and yoga on a Saturday morning in the grounds was an unexpected highlight. We were lucky to get an upgrade to one of the Residences which had a great view and was super spacious. Special shout out to Troy, Dennis, Bolun and Max for looking after us for three nights whilst we celebrated our anniversary. We didn't want to leave! We also had an incredible vegetarian dinner at the Mi Xun Teahouse which made a pleasant change from all the meat we consumed on the trip.

I tried the spa ; the vegetarian food joint that was Michelin ⭐️; the Conceirge desk for multiple restaurant reservation … they all were good. So really nothing to dislike. Only point may be was the hotel’s tight booking schedules resulted in inability to accommodate late check out. It was extended only one hour to 1 pm.

The location is superb, the restaurant and lounge are great.. the room was super comfortable and the staff were amazing especially Bruce who was my assigned driver and spoke fluent English and made my experience a great one!

The hotel was beautiful and tasteful, the staff were all very helpful especially the front office manager who was able to help a lot. Everyone was very friendly. The bar was nice, and the choice of food was good too.

We got upgraded to a suite for our anniversary celebration. The room cleanliness, hotel facilities and staff service are excellent. Hotel location is perfect with lots of local food and restaurants in proximity. The DaiZi temple is in 3-minute walk. We would definitely choose the Temple House again when we come back to Chengdu next time.

I feel ripped off by the hotel. I already paid $500 per night. They tricked me to pay extra $200 per night to upgrade to a two bedroom apartment. After two nights I figured out that it’s cheaper and more comfortable to get two standard rooms. This request was declined by hotel staff. The reason they gave me is that they cannot make changes to online order. I guess they can only make one-way change: upgrade only, no downgrade. On top of that I here is no free breakfast for a $700 plus per night hotel.

Great property. Awesome location. Chengdu is a great city. Way worth the visit.

The entire stay was amazing. Greeted by friendly staff that could speak English, didn’t hover around for tips. (Although I was happy to give) property was extraordinary with taste and style. Hallway has an attractive scent (asked if they sell the scent but unfortunately they don’t). Didn’t try their food during this trip unfortunately because there are so much options around. The only thing I wasn’t so happy about is the Temperature control in the room. Although it was quite cold outside and I was looking for some warmth indoors, rooms were way too hot even though I turned the AC down to the coldest it could set (19 degrees Celsius) but the lowest temperature the room got was 26 :( my fiancé couldn’t sleep well because of that despite the huge comfortable bed. However, everything else surpassed our expectations and will definitely come back still.

房间隔音太差，楼上用洗手台哗啦啦听的一清二楚。午休时间敲敲打打，没办法入睡。 酒店位置不错，紧邻太古里，地铁站5分钟，春熙路周边美食基本15分钟脚程。

這是個想在太古里逛街的好選擇,鬧中取靜,除了精品百貨附近還有很多小吃,真是太方便了,步行約5-7分鐘到IFS金融中心廣場,還有前往四川著名景區巴士及機場巴士,唯一有待改善的是前台服務員,因為入住前在網路上購物宅配到飯店,快遞員跑了3趟才把貨物送到我們手上,這是這次唯一的美中不足啊!

The hotel is great in many aspects (design, location etc.), but it is obvious it mainly caters to Chinese customers, sometimes it was difficult to get anyone English speaking at the reception, service was generally the weak point, does not live up to 5* standard in this respect

It’s impossible to get templed out at the temple house. The building is gorgeous and the room is very well appointed. Loved the subtle design of the room. Service is very good. Very pleased to find the free “maxi” bar and the lovely tea set. Location is very good, close to a metro station and in the middle of the shopping area. Having their breakfast is highly recommended.

Comfy bed, Hugh room, street food are great next door.

I have never once been disappointed staying at a Swire hotel (having been at all three in Beijing, HK and Chengdu) and the Temple House is no exception. It was a perfectly pleasant city hotel through and through. Check-in was smooth and efficient, stylish lobby, soothing and tastefully-decorated rooms (this time we stayed in a suite too), personal touches everywhere (love those m&m jars), indulgent bathrooms, coma-inducing-comfortable beds... in short, your every need catered for, and taken care of so well. The location was also super convenient, being right next to Taikoo Li and a stone’s throw away from the metro station. Excellent Sichuan restaurant across the street as well.
