Reviewed Mar 8, 2024This is a spectacular property, wonderful views, fantastic friendly and fun hosts, great breakfast with just about everything sourced from the garden. The wine trip organised by Alistair was excellent - he chauffeured us - and make sure you have time for lunch at Cloudy Bay. The room was wonderful, kitted out with everything, and whatever you do make time to have dinner cooked one evening by Fiona - she is a wonderful cook.

Reviewed Nov 19, 2023Fabulous location in a vineyard overlooking a lake. Room was large and spotless with lots of windows and double door access to the gardens. There was a constant breeze. Over head fan and AC. Pool, hot tub, delicious breakfast and lovely hosts. Highly recommended.

Reviewed Mar 24, 2023The property was gorgeous and the bedroom and bathroom suite spacious. There was plenty of room for luggage and also two comfortable chairs in addition to the bed. We had our own access out a private door and it felt luxurious. The scenery around the property was stunning and the hosts, Fiona and Alistair, were friendly and very helpful. We hired Alistair to arrange wine tasting for us and he did a superb job. He also answered zillions of questions we had about New Zealand. Fiona provided home-canned fruit for breakfast, which was delicious.

Reviewed Nov 19, 2022This must be the most exclusive and luxurious Bed and Breakfast venue on the South Island in an area of outstanding beauty. The quality and style of everything is exceptional and we were treated as house guests rather than "clients", which made our stay special.
There was absolutely nothing that we did not like about St Michael Lodge.

Reviewed Jan 4, 2020Fiona and Alistair were great hosts. The property is well situated on the hill country above Lake Dunstan, settled amongst the vines of Mount Michael. If you're lucky, Fiona might even have a drop of the vineyards Pinot Noir to sample. It was 32 degrees when we visited so the pool was a welcome site. Would certainly visit again.

Reviewed Jan 18, 2018Underbart ställe! Lyxigt boende med fint och rymligt rum. Vi älskade detta b&b med väldigt trevliga värdar (Fiona & Alistair) som tog väl hand om oss och var super att umgås med. Sovrummet har AC, skön säng och bra tv med Netflix, youtube och allt annat man kan önska. Frukosten som ingick var god hemlagad och mättande! Rekommenderar detta ställe varmt och skulle definitivt bo här igen. Vi stannade två nätter och på dagarna har man flertalet vingårdar man kan besöka. Finns även fruktgårdar där du kan plocka dina egna körsbär vilket var kul och gott :-)

Reviewed Jan 4, 2017Es handelt sich um eine sehr luxuriöse Unterkunft, die Ausstattung des Zimmers ist einfach top ! Es gibt einen Pool und einen Garten, von welchem man eine grandiose Aussicht über die Region hat. Weiterhin kann man kostenlos Fahrräder ausleihen. Die Gastgeber Fiona und Alistair sind sehr hilfsbereit und nebenbei auch noch tolle Köche.
