Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the breakfast. It was very basic and minimal, with very limited choices. There wasn’t even a croissant, cake, or any kind of pastry available. The overall quality was also quite low. My husband, my son, and I were all disappointed with the breakfast and felt that it could have been much better.

The property is adjacent to a golf club house and abuts the course. Admirably suited for a golfer but unfortunately we were there for only one night prior to a (nearby) hospital appointment for a surgical procedure. An early departure and food abstinence prior to the op meant we left before the club facilities were open for breakfast. However, learning of this we were provided with a packed breakfast to consume very early morning. Little short of superb. In the circumstances it is, perhaps, a bit inappropriate to pass comment but there is no doubt whatsoever that I would be prepared to stay there again. Prices reasonable, staff wonderful. What’s not to like.

It was very confusing as to how to check in. No reception area was indicated. The building was next to a golf course. It was old and needed updating. The room was small.

Friendly staff, relaxed, unhurried atmosphere - good quality home cooked style food - fantastic breakfast that set us up for the day. Restaurant looks out over the golf course - sheep and horses wandering freely over the course - lovely to watch 😁

The accommodation was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable and of good quality.

Very minor. But just little things like how to check-in, like being told to enter the golf club, where to park - as there are a few options. Im a very anxious person and on arrival, there was an empty entrance to the accommodation and I had no idea how to inform people that id arrived and didn't know how to get our key. So I phoned them, then I was given instructions on how to check in.

The flexibiliy of the staff. I was ill and they let me have a late check out with very little notice. The view of Swanse Bay from the back rooms of the lodge is spectacular. If you like golf the front room views must be special.

Air conditioning would be great, but that's a big ask and only probably necesary during oeach heat wave.

The lady who served our fab breakfast was so pleasant, as was the young fella behind the bar in the evening. Comfy bed.

The location

Staff very helpful and provided under cover storage for our bikes. We were pleased to find that evening meals are available in the golf club (of which the hotel is a part) which was very convenient especially as the hotel in up a steep hill. NB The availability of evening meals was not clear on booking.com. There are footpaths on the golf course giving access to amazing views over Swansea Bay and towards Mumbles.

Our room seemed to be in the sloping roof area so some parts of the room had very limited headroom. The only window was a 'Velux' type which was too high for one of us to see out of - although there was a great view across the bay.

Found the stairs difficult, not ideal if you have mobility issues.

Everything was fabulous. Dining room overlookd the golf course where there are ponies running free. Great breakfast. Really helpful staff. Secure storage for our bikes.

It's a little remote.

The rooms were well maintained, clean , and comfortable. Quiet location attached to the golf course . Staff were very friendly. Good parking in a quiet location.

Externally the property could do with a little tlc.

We had some difficulty in finding the place because it was not clear to us that it was part of the golf club.

Clean and Comfortable basic room with twin beds and a great shower. Beds surprisingly comfortable . Breakfast outstanding. Situated on golf course next to the club house and above the pro shop. 20 mins walk into Mumbles town.

Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfasts. Good location near Singleton Hospital for us. Enjoyed the views and peace and quiet.

Cleanliness: some stains on walls, arm chair and bathroom cabinet. Need of some refurbishment: The toilet is set low and very difficult for elderly people to use. Some repointing needed in shower setting as it is collecting stains. Several towels very clean and usable but pretty worn out.

This is our 2nd visit and it was just as good, friendly staff, clean room. Lovely relaxing views. Everyone is just so friendly, the golfers are so chatty :) Love the male chef always so accommodating.

Only thing would be lovely if staying more than 1 night to have replacement biscuits 😀 xx

Apart 1 had 2 steps down into bathroom. Lack of a short handrail means that this is potentially unsafe access at night. Early waking as slat type blinds. Otherwise the room and facilities were excellent. Small point, being cold, it would have been useful to have turned on the heating in the room in advance.

Great breakfast, one of us is an omnivore, the other is a vegan. Both were delighted with their respective repasts.

I was happy with everything but you will need to be prepared to use stairs. It is also quite a way from the town centre and beach.

No window (which we weren’t told about) in our room but we did have a skylight.

The location was excellent as its situation and allowed us to access the whole of the peninsula without any difficulty and it had a good car park. As it was attached to the golf clubhouse we were able to buy evening meals and use the bar facilities which were at a very reasonable price. This made it a real holiday. Thought the pictures on the website didn’t do justice to the rooms. They made them look plain whereas in fact the fittings and furnishings were of a very high standard.

It suited us just fine.

Other rooms were booked to a drunk group of lads. Causing major disruption in the night. Didn’t sleep at all.

Location, comfortable beds, clean, large shower. Lovely breakfast.

Room was not warmed before my arrival. Very cold but we turned up the radiator and towel rail. Warmed up the room after a couple of hours. In need of minor repairs, light bulb, cracks in grouting, broken door in entrance, window in bathroom would not close.

Eine ungewöhnliche Unterkunft, direkt auf einem Golfplatz. Man wohnt nicht im Klubhaus, sondern in einem Gebäude nebenan. Leider hatten wir ein Zimmer unterm Dach, mit einem kleinen Fenster, so das wir die Aussicht dann beim guten Frühstück genossen haben. Im Zimmer war alles vorhanden, wir haben gut geschlafen. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam.

Room was alright as was breakfast

Not clear accommodation is on a golf course and key pick up is in clubhouse, not clear some rooms right at top of house, 2 flights of stairs up, on a wild night very noisy, and more stairs to go up to lounge in clubhouse for breakfast. Not good for those with mobility issues, as we found! Club members friendly, though, even on a foul morning.

We didn’t stay. Room was on third floor no lift ,narrow stairs we are in our 70 s bags 25 kg each

Somerfield Lodge is a very comfortable and clean .The bar staff and chef were very friendly and plesent, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meals were too.This was our second time we have stayed at Somerfield Lodge and would definitely recommend this a lovely place to stay.

Lovely quiet location, comfy well appointed room good breakfast- lovely walk around the golf course in the morning with great views of the Mumbles - plenty of parking.

Not much ! light over mirror didn't work and ceilings a bit low as we were on the top floor under the roof.

On Sunday morning, just as it's getting light, my friend in room 4 could hear one of the green staff complaining loudly about having to work every weekend.

The rooms where comfortable and clean breakfast was good also
