The Gower Hotel

The room was quiet. We received a courtesy call the day before our stay to remind us the restaurant was shut on the Sunday evening so we could make alternative arrangements, It is a short drive to the Mumbles.

The hotel is in need of some attention. In our room, the bathroom radiator had detached from the wall, a window wouldn't shut, a blind was broken, there were some stains on the carpet, the tap came off in our hand. Staff were attentive and apologetic when I told them - but clearly the hotel is past it's prime. There was a limited selection for breakfast which was served with two half slices of toast for the two of us. Closer to the date of travel, when we could no longer cancel, we found the hotel at a much better price - and much closer to the true value of the stay. As a quick overnight stop, it was fine, but it's not a place we would return to.

There were 11 of us some of us stayed in the lodges in the car park they were brilliant, very spacious beautiful bathroom and huge supper king bed with everything you would need towels robes tea coffee spare pillows etc brilliant! Staff were amazing

Unfortunately 3 of our party staying in the main hotel and we're very disappointed blinds broken bath seel so couldn't have a bath the radiator was hanging off the wall a very different experience compared to the lodges

The women at reception was so lovely and kind she made it feel like a home from home. I also loved the hotel and the bird houses at the front!

The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the patio space outside. Dinner and breakfast were both good quality and the staff were most helpful.

Lodge room spacious, plenty of seating including bistro set outside. Comfortable bed. Modern bathroom. Very good quality and choice of breakfast. Good evening meal on the 2/4 nights restaurant open. Lovely outdoor seating areas but disappointed no geraniums which looked so nice in promotion picture.

Room a bit shabby, toilet seat loose, moved to one side, no plug for sink but staff supplied one when asked the following day.

The breakfast was superb.

It was a shame the restaurant was closed so we couldn’t have our evening meal there.

Charmantes kleines Hotel mit liebevoll ausgestatteten Zimmern in ruhiger Lage. Besonders die Honeymoon Suite war außergewöhnlich. Das Abendessens schmeckte hervorragend und das Personal war äußerst zuvorkommend.

Bei dem unglaublichen Abendessen hätte ich vom Frühstück mehr erwartet. Es war okay. Die Parkplatzsituation könnte etwas besser sein. Ansonsten war alles fein.

Spotlessly clean. Room and bathroom very generously sized. Very comfortable and not had everything you need for short stay. Staff were lovely. Parking wasn't a problem. Bar and restaurant onsite good value and good quality.

Garden furniture could do with some TLC but more than enough seating and outdoor space is within the grounds which has a pretty garden with shaded and sun areas.

Beautiful location next to an old church and woodland. Felt cosily secluded but in good distance to amenities and walking paths. The restaurant on site is very good and we had a lovely meal there. The room was nice with a great big bed.

The welcome could have been better. We were 10min early but it was made very clear that check in was not til 3 (despite what I was told on the phone) I think it’s the small things that make people feel welcome. A friendly hello, a bottle of water in the room, some biscuits, or a slightly later checkout too. Linda was lovely but I think customer care should extend to the whole experience.

The staff were lovely and the location was brilliant.

The room was nice and a lovely large bathroom although very dusty. The headboard, telephone and bedside lamps, on top of the mirror and tv hadn't been dusted for a very long time!

La posizione molto piacevole, in mezzo al verde e fuori dal caos, anche se la strada per arrivarci non è del tutto agevole. È comunque strategico per raggiungere la Three Cliffs Bay, a pochi minuti di distanza. Ottima la cucina, soprattutto per la cena.

That the bed was really squeaky, every time I turned over or got up for toilet the bed would squeak & im pritty sure there was two single mattresses instead of a double mattress for double bed.

I didn’t see a lift, so had to carry the suitcase up the stairs. Only one flight though. Reception is not 24hours. 8-11. Not a bad thing but need to be aware if leaving early / arriving late etc.

It had character and dedicated dog-friendly rooms which was good for us. It was very quiet and the beds were comfortable so we slept well.

It wasn’t very clean - we think the cleaner rushed because they were running late and didn’t clean the toilet or bathroom sink properly and the floor was a bit dirty as well…bathroom robes also smelled.

It was somewhere to stay with access to The Gower Peninsula.

The ensuite window would not open and they were indifferent about it and nothing was done. The menu promised excellent fayre but the reality was more than disappointing. My pork wellington was pre-sliced and looked very old and dry. The mustard mash contained at least 50% mustard and was inedible. Despite my expressing disappointment no-one apologised or showed concern. On our return I emailed the hotel regarding our experience. I received no reply. I cannot recommend The New Gower Hotel at all.

A comfortable hotel with very welcoming staff. We ate in the restaurant which was good and we really enjoyed our breakfast.

Just a few things that stopped it from being a perfect experience. A few things looked worse for wear- garden furniture, shelf removed from shower. It would have been good to have some seaside art rather than city scenes. Some background music would have made for a more comfortable experience in the restaurant when we were the first ones in.

The Gower hotel is located not far from Mumbles and just off the main road leading to the principal beaches of the Gower peninsular. There are plenty of parking spaces and a lovely private garden in front of the hotel. The room/lodge was spacious and the restaurant served good interesting food.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting in the Gower Peninsula. Free private parking behind the hotel and off road close to the hotel. Excellent choices for breakfast. Staff were helpful and welcoming. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The dinner provided in the restaurant was delicious.

Had to book in before 9.00pm which was inconvenient as we were at a Wedding that day.

Nice location, nice room and good size bathroom, nice balcony area with loungers and parasol. Nice garden out the front.

Seems as though they have employed young staff, people skills lacking. My 11 month old had to eat bits off our plates as they wouldn’t ask the chef if she could have some of the potato gratin or ice cream, stating that portions are needed for next week or that because they come in little pots we couldn’t have an extra one for her. Disappointing.

Our room was quite large, very comfortable and clean.

Staff were friendly, efficient and very hard working. They had to be as Hotel seemed badly understaffed generally. Up ramp car park was good.

The interior bar area was uninviting and cramped. Outside area much better. How frequently place was either understaffed or had no one on duty. More like an Airbnb or motel than hotel. Bedrooms cluttered. All about theme and style rather than practical guest convenience. Who needs an unusable bedside table because all room taken up by large, theme style phone as just one of many examples.

room clean bed raised in the middle. kept sliding off the edge. bathroom fine although toilet seat to one side . we had the evening meal very disappointing menu dispirited as fine dinning , very poor choice far from a great meal. Breakfast, good size , poor quality produce . Staff very polite but very few and when asked a question not quit sore of the answer . overall not a 4* in my opinion . disappointed .

We booked a dog friendly lodge and it was great to have our own entrance. The room was also very spacious. The towels were a decent size and the shower was great.

The staff were very pleasant and efficient. The shower had good pressure and lots of hot water.

The hotel is severely understaffed. Reception was often unmanned and there was always only member of staff in the restaurant. The food was awful. We had dinner on one night and the lamb shank was inedible. We weren't charged for it when we complained but we would rather have paid for a good meal. Breakfast was very poor. There was a limited choice of unripe fruit and the bread was of very poor quality. There was no lounge and the bar lacked charm, atmosphere and comfort.

Room very clean and comfortable, got good nights sleep, didn’t get to sample evening meal as the restaurant was closed, but breakfast was good, the staff were friendly and the tables were all set nicely.

In the room bedside light kept flickering as it was very wobbly, loose connection and the toilet roll didn’t work couldn’t get tissue out and shower tray filled with water just needs drain un blocker. Would like to have mentioned at reception in morning for maintenance but no one there. Breakfast good but the croissants were poor not fresh, would be nice for some berries to put on yogurt. Sorry didn’t like the metal cups for juice you can smell metal when drinking would prefer glass.

Gutes Restaurant

Wir hatten einen grossen Balkon, der aber leider sehr ungepflegt war. Das Bett war schmal und in der Mitte höher als am Rand. Der riesige Zimmerschlüssel sollte überdacht werden. Die Treppe zu den Zimmern und die Gänge sind sehr eng mit Koffer.

Lovely hotel, our room was clean and well presented. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent as was breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful.

They don’t provide a breakfast option on a Monday morning.

The hosts were very kind and accommodating.the good was exceptional as there was a restaurant on the premises.

The outside private spaces could be a bit cleaner…some of the carpeting and finishes could have been upgraded,but then it is an older hotel.

Gute Betten und Platz im Raum. Parkplatz vor der Tür Tipp. Sonntags an 17 Uhr gibt es nichts in der Nähe zu essen. Fahren Sie nach Swansea in The Wind Street. Super!

Dusche. Zu eng und Tür defekt, was es schwer machte, ohne Überschwemmung zu duschen. Habe es mitgeteilt und hoffe, es wird repariert. Schwer zu finden.

Lodge was very spacious and comfortable

Rooms were spacious and clean with nice big bathrooms. We had to move rooms (my fault as booked one night then extended to two) They prioritised cleaning of the second room and allowed us to check back in well ahead of the usual time which helped us a lot. Good breakfast brought to your table and nice hot pot of coffee. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Parking on site with more available on the road. The location was great if you want to walk or cycle - it was a five minute drive from our family. All in all, a great hotel!

The manager was extremely nice and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was fresh not highly perfumed as is often the case in B&Bs. The front of the hotel is very pleasantly laid out with gardens and seating areas.

Linda and the staff were fantastic and polite. The chef was brilliant, I really enjoyed my dinners in particular the Duck and Pork wellington. Very comfortable bedroom, decent space, lovely bed and big bathroom. Plenty of parking. Good location for getting around the Gower.

Wi-fi was spotty and dropped connection regularly. One of the gutters was leaking and hitting the roof below my window, not the end of the world but worth keeping an eye on.

시설이 가격대비 좋습니다. 제대로된 방에다가 욕실도 너무 넓고 욕조까지 있어서 3일동안 많이 걷느라 털린 몸을 풀수 있어서 너무 좋았어요. 그리고 비가 많이와서 옷이 많이 젖었는데 라디에이터도 많고 화장실에도 있어서 옷하고 신발도 금방 말렸어요. 기본적으로 예ㅓㄴ 집을 개조햇 그런지 호텔 분위기가 매우 코지 했고 방이 많아서 놀랐어요. 그리고 로실리 가기에도 최적이에요 바로 앞 버스역에서 버스 타면 30분인가 밖에 안걸려요 로실리는 꼭 가세요 가본 바다중 탑3였어요

위치가 거주단지 안에 있어서 도보로 가기엔 꽤 멀어요 멈블스 피어에서 걸어갔는데 1시간 반 조금 안걸렸어요. 근데 언덕이 많아서 꽤 힘들게 갔어요. 위치 말고는 정말 만족합니다. 그리고 늦게 체크인, 이른 체크아웃 때문에 조식도 못먹고 (조식 8시부터) 바도 닫아서 실질적으로 방밖에 못쓴게 아쉬워요.

Clean and comfortable. Everything you could reasonably need is provided. I travel to the area frequently and the NGH is the only place I’ve found I consistently want to come back to.

The WiFi can be a bit flaky depending on which room you’re in. It’s mostly good enough though.

It was a heat wave so couldn't be helped but found the fans provided were not much use. The bedroom was lovely and clean and staff very helpful. The service in the evening was very slow and got the order a little wrong but other than that we enjoyed it very much. Only there for 1 night.

Room was quite small, but sufficient and efinitley very clean. Comfortabel bed with good selection of pillows. Very comfortable and quiet, pleased to say I slept well. Great location with soem lovely coast line 15 minutes away.

On arrival I was told there was no facility for dinner that evening or breakfast the following day so had to make other arrnagements. Thought breakfast was quite expensive but was good quality.

My elderly Nana and I stayed at this gorgeous (accessible) hideaway in October last year and booked another room a couple of weeks ago that we couldn't get to on that date unfortunately. Booking.com were hard to contact and the written info on their website about cancelling was misleading so I spoke to the lovely Gill (I think) and she confirmed the booking policy in simple terms. She was very warm and professional despite my email bombardment so although we didn't get there this time, we highly recommend the place based on our Oct experience plus Gill's patience and professionalism and look forward to going there again v soon!

Breakfast was good.

Little regard for the frailty of older guests. The steps from the Bathroom to the Bedroom were dangerous, had no banister, and the only the to hold onto for safety, was the flat wall or the television. Same on the main stairs, where the banister was not continuous, where it came to a protrusion, and on one climb I had to make a grab for the banistar spindles above. Same with the step between the dining room and the breakfast service area. No warning of a step in dard suroundings. No banister or grab handle on the right hand side. I nearly went flying on the first day of visit. The floor colouring on the upper and lower levels of this step are the same . The lighting is dim. This gives the impression of a level floor, and no step - leading to me going flying forward. At my, and my partner's age, these 3 things put us completely off enjoying our stay - on safety grounds. And, the banister leading from the driveway to the reception/ main door, is loose & broken- the first thing you grab hold of to climb the steps to go to the front door, which could lead to more desasters. I shall be reporting these issues to the local HSE responsible.
