Location, amenities, very clean and modern

The location of the hotel was amazing, just across the beach and located centrally in Bocagrande with supermarkets around the corner. The pool area was fantastic, with 3 infinity pools, and the breakfast was very rich and varied from day to day.

There was a rule that the room had to be cleaned daily, which I had never experienced before. The rationale seemed to be that the staff wanted to check on the guests at least once within 24 hours.

We had a fantastic stay at the Hyatt Regency in Cartagena. It’s a nice hotel with great facilities and, most importantly, excellent staff. We experienced an issue on our first day, but Natalia from the Club Lounge was absolutely exceptional. She took personal responsibility, quickly helped resolve the problems we were having, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure the rest of our stay was a great one. Natalia made a huge difference to our overall experience. It’s incredibly reassuring to see staff empowered to take ownership, make decisions and do what’s needed to look after their guests. A really enjoyable stay and a big thank you to Natalia for making it especially memorable.

Las instalaciones son muy bonitas, amplias y se experimenta seguridad y tranquilidad. La suite asignada, en verdad muy confortable en todos los aspectos, a pesar de no ser muy grande, es Fantástica. La música de fondo y su volumen, muy adecuada. Las piscinas son geniales, con su temática de infinita, su limpieza, temperatura y vista al mar. Excelentes vistas; al mar, a la ciudad, a la bahía.

El servicio de desayuno estuvo por debajo de las expectativas, tanto en atención como en la calidad de algunos alimentos. También observé demoras en el servicio de café y dificultades para encontrar mesas limpias y listas para usar aún cuando habían muchas desocupadas, lo que afectó la experiencia.

Desayuno, amplitud, limpieza, vistas y comodidad de la habitación así como el ambiente en las piscinas. Mis hijos estuvieron encantados con María del kids club.

La música fuerte que nos levantó el domingo sobre las 5:30 am. La fruta, quesos y carnes madura no tiene la buena presentación de antes. Primera vez q al desayuno no tenían disponibilidad de arepa con huevo y un día tampoco hubo suero.

The facilities are good and very clean, the club rooms, breakfast options, restaurant services, gym are excellent.

the normal rooms are not great for the price and expectations, the carpet was extremely dirty and therefore we have to change room, ended up paying extra to upgrade to a club room.

La chambre était très bien équipée et très grande. Nous étions au 38e étage avec une vue exceptionnelle sur la baie. Le petit déjeuner est excellent et nous avons eu droit à un goûter (un grand buffet) moyennant un petit supplément dans notre tarification qui comprenant aussi un uprade de la chambre.

Servizi assolutamente non all’altezza di un 5 stelle, colazione di bassa qualità, posizione defilata dal centro, lungo una strada spesso intasata dal traffico.sarebbe corretto un downgrade al 4 stelle, poi in linea con i servizi e le caratteristiche della struttura.

Have been coming to this hotel for several years and each time have left a 5 star review. It’s a shame that this visit comes down to 4. It was a perfectly fine stay, however we noticed that everything was just a bit lower in experience versus previous visits. There were many small experiences that seem individually petty to complain about, however when added together there was a pattern apparent. Since the last year there has been a seemingly complete turnover pf personnel at the hotel (the familiar faces had all gone and we while we greeted by professional associates there was an air of TSA security rather than warm hospitality. Gone is the warm and flexible hospitality and replaced with a heightened level of rules based bureaucracy. Each moment sounds petty to complain about but added together the whole set of enforced rules and bureaucracy took the pleasure out of the vacation. A few little and petty examples: * family came to join us for a drink at the hotel bar - this I bombed a pre ones to register them and then a 15 minute process on their arrival to take their ID, add details into the computer system, go to the back office to take copies of ID etc * signing out and in the pool towels * inconsistent rules strongly applied regarding water bottles in the breakfast lounge … the list goes on… all small and petty issues, but symptomatic of a new rules based management of the hotel that just takes the edge off the hospitality. A first time visitor will see the hotel through new eyes and enjoy the decent location, decent facilities (good gym, OK pool, good parking etc) but regular visitors will notice the new regime approach. Sadly the hotel has become just another corporate place to stay and has seemingly lost his best attraction that was its overwhelmingly great team. All that said. I would call out two team members for great and friendly service. Specially thanks to Isabel / lead concierge at the regency club for her welcome and great advise . Huge thanks and appreciation to Juliana Jimenez that was so efficient and thorough in housekeeping our room during our 1 week stay. We may or may not return on our next visit in a few months, I just hope that management regain their magic and instil some spark into the experience. Please - more hospitality and less airport security mindset.

The in-room ‘minibar’ was not obviously a minibar. In the full size fridge-freezer there was one can of beer, one bottle of coke, lots of bottles of water - no obvious price list - (turns out there was a QR code hidden in a cupboard next to the fridge), so all water taken turned out to be chargeable. For a family of 4 there were only 4 x 600ml bottles of water provided per day in a city that is permanently at 31-33 centigrade. It’s really annoying when we tip happily at the pool bars etc that we get caught out for taking water from the ‘minibar’ and charged accordingly. Don’t get me wrong, the hotel is amazing, great pools, helpful staff, but this felt like a reallly cheap misstep from them and left a sour taste at checkout. Would I go again? Yes, but would ensure we kept calling to housekeeping for ‘free’ water.

It was a great stay and I look forward to rebooking with them soon. I know only 10 words of Spanish but I never felt helpless because they know enough English to keep things operating smoothly. Location was great. Breakfast had enough choices to satisfy. Rooms are nice.

Amazing executive suite! The views were jaw-dropping and we were able to have such great time with the access to the regency club as well!

This hotel is in a great location, close to all the tourist attractions. A mall is located right next to the hotel with good food, shopping, and entertainment. My partner and I enjoyed our stay. If you speak English only, make sure to have a translator app ready because most of the staff only spoke Spanish.

Las zonas comunes y la atención muy buenas, la amabilidad en el restaurante resaltó.

Pagué un upgrade a una suite que realmente parecía más un Airbnb regular, diferente al nivel de las habitaciones regulares. No volvería a tomar esta opción, un precio muy alto por algo regular.

This was a spectacular stay in Cartagena! While it is a walk to the downtown, being on the water is worth it! Excellent staff. Amazing room. Right in front of a supermarket. You can bring pool towels to the beach. I highly recommend!

Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The property's condition was modern and well maintained, including the pools. Solid food options.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! 1. The check-in was quick. 2. I got an ocean view room and it turned out to be amazing. 3. The size of the room was big, I like extra room and don't like to feel that I'm cluttered in a room. 4. The room was modern and clean. 5. The infinity pool on floor 14 gives you the WOW factor. Go to the pools in the morning, there's less people. 6. Whenever I come back to Cartagena, this will be my place to stay.

Look at your tabs! At the cafe, I went to buy a mineral water that I grabbed from the fridge to pay. A service fee was automatically added. I feel that a service fee should not be added if a service was not provided.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency for 3 nights to start our trip around Colombia. It was the perfect way to begin our first visit to this beautiful country. We treated ourselves to a Club Level room. The room was modern and immaculate, and we enjoyed use of the club for breakfast, evening appetizers and drinks, and concierge service. Natalia and Isabell took great care of us, welcoming us with smiles each time we visited and providing great recommendations. Waitstaff Teddy, Fernanda, and Ariana were great too. Although the beach is steps away, we found the hotel’s pools to be just the retreat we needed and the warm breeze and peaceful atmosphere on the upper floors provided respite from the hot temperatures and traffic below. We chose to walk to the city centre and Getsemaní to balance out our relaxation time, but rideshare options are plentiful and inexpensive. We enjoyed returning to our bay view (room) and ocean view (club) after our walking tours, making its location in Bocagrande a perfect fit for us. Highly recommend!

The views of the ocean and bay are beautiful… you can see the sunset.,, rooms are clean and decent and bathrooms are good size.. we got the ocean view room with Hyatt Club access… paying for the club access is definitely worth it.. location of hotel is good only 15/20 mins from the airport and about 10 mins from the walled city and getsemani which is the old colonial town which is where all the action and clubs food and culture is located… we used uber daily and Ubers would be about $4-5 each way so that’s was good… hotel staff are very nice and attentive.. food at the hotel was decent… but drinks are weak..hotel have nice beautiful pools.. lots of lounge areas.. you can walk to the bank atm and mall next door and a supermarket is around the corner so that’s convenient… we also walked to two restaurants five minutes away.. Cartegena is a nice city but beware that things aren’t cheap ie food and drinks… the drinks are all overpriced and weak unless you find a non tourist restaurant the the prices are a little lower...things cost the same as in America when you do the conversion.. also the locals are annoying they will harass you and try to sell you everything so be ready to say no or ignore them..if you ask someone a question they expect a tip…also make sure you understand the money and in tourist areas the sellers will overcharge so be prepared and mindful.. when exchanging money ask for small pesos in 5 and 10 and 20 as the vendors never have change and the money exchange will give you 50 and 100 pesos so ask for small bills and at restaurants use your credit card… uber is cheaper than the local taxi… and use Viator to book excursions… I did Four excursions.. 1. Visit palenque and 2. Day trip to Rosario Island and 3. Street food tour and 4. Pub crawl which takes you to 4-6 clubs nice way to party and bar hop.

The hotel situated in Bocagrande, a 5 minute drive from the old fortified town. is surly a piece of art. We stayed for 10 days and had a real god time. The service was god, the staff friendly and helpful by all means. A special gratitude to the personell working in The Regency club were we had our free meals. The food was varied and there was always something good to find. We will surely return.

This Hyatt Hotel vacation in Cartagena is fantastic. All the Hyatt hotel employees will great you with a smile. Hyatt is the best Hotel in Cartgena.

El hotel es muy hermoso, la atencion de el señor Abraham y Darwin fue maravillosa

La recepcionista Dina es muy grosera, son inaceptables sus palabras, es indignante su mal trato sin ninguna necesidad, prácticamente sacó a mis familiares porque no tenían el documento de identidad en la mano, a ellos les tocó irse para otro hotel, dialogue con la supervisora y ella solo me ofreció una carta de disculpas y unos cupones para unas bebidas

Awesome stay with family! The 30th floor club was well worth it and the hotel was extremely clean. The location was wonderful and there are great restaurants, the beach and the walled city in walking distance. Super convenient!

El hotel es muy bonito, las instalaciones están bien cuidadas y las habitaciones son amplias, cómodas y muy limpias.

El área de la piscina es agradable; sin embargo, la piscina exclusiva para adultos resulta pequeña para la cantidad de huéspedes que recibe el hotel, por lo que en algunos momentos puede sentirse bastante concurrida y no tiene sombrillas. En cuanto al restaurante y al bar de la piscina, los precios me parecieron elevados en relación con la calidad de los alimentos y las bebidas. En particular, la pizza no cumplió con mis expectativas y los cócteles tienen un costo alto. Respecto a la experiencia Regency Club, considero que no ofrece beneficios suficientes para justificar el costo adicional, por lo que, en mi opinión, no vale la pena pagar por este servicio.
