The path between rooms too narrow and not suitable for children

The room was pretty good, the cleanness and also the comfort. They are super kindly and they have their own transport service.

But the breakfast, it wasn't good, you have a loot of options, we tried 6 of them, and no one achieve our expectations.

Everything! The location is great, near the beach and plaza lagoi. The room was incredible, with a beautiful private swimming pool. The staff very kind and we did a relaxing massage directly in our room😊

Quelques équipements vétustes (portes coulissantes, clim qui goutte ou lavabo bouché). La pompe de la piscine est un peu bruyante mais c'est le prix à payer pour avoir la piscine aussi proche.

It was a perfect relaxing stay. We enjoyed the rooms and the breakfast options provided. The location is 2 mins walk distance to the mall/ plaza and 4-5 minutes to the beach! The staff are warm and welcoming.

Die Möbel sind abgewohnt und vieles ist verschmutzt. Ein Beispiel ist das Mosquitonetz am Bett hatte überall Flecken, Löcher und Schimmel. Es fehlt deutlich an Instandhaltung uns Sauberkeit. Steckdosen sind nicht richtig angebracht. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück ist sehr begrenzt.

The resort is in the Lagoi area, which means it's much closer to the ferry terminal than some other resorts on the island. Shared transport is provided both ways, which is straightforward enough. We arrived at 12:50pm and were told the room wouldn't be ready until 2pm. We asked for early check-in but no luck. Right across the resort is Plaza Lagoi, but don't get excited - it looked pretty deserted when we were there, mostly closed shops. We were just killing time. To be fair, they WhatsApp'd us at around 1:40pm to say the room was ready, so it wasn't a terribly long wait. All communication with the resort is via WhatsApp only, as there are no phones in the room. Reception is tiny with only two chairs at the counter, self-service welcome drink. Though check-in was quick and no complaints there. Our suite (Studio Suite Villa - C3) had a small outdoor area with a round table and two chairs, a kitchenette with just a kettle and sink, and two beach loungers on the deck (without any cushions). Only two mugs were provided, and they also didn't match (one small, and another tall coffee mug. No coffee/tea maker, just instant tea/coffee sachets were provided. No spoons, no plates, no glasses. The mini fridge was empty. Inside the room there was a double bed with hard and soft pillow options. We found the mattress was on the firmer side, and the comforter felt a bit thin. Though the sheets were white and clean. AC was strong and cold, TV had standard channels, and two 500ml water bottles were complimentary. The highlight is definitely the private pool- 1.3m deep, clean, and lovely. One thing though, after 8pm the pool pump was switched off. The bathroom was clean, airy, and huge. It was split into four separate areas- WC, sink, shower, and bathtub. But the supplies were really bare minimum. No conditioner, no body lotion, no face towel, no floor towel, not even a tissue box. And no bathrobe which honestly felt strange given there's both a bathtub and a private pool. Water pressure was good with hot and cold, so at least that worked well. There was a small cabinet in the room, with only one fragile sliding door. Iron or ironing board are not provided and there is no laundry bag either. Later in the evening, we asked for an ice bucket and were told it was chargeable at around 40,000 IDR. What? Yes, correct, it was chargeable. Breakfast was honestly the low point of the entire stay. No buffet. You pick one main and one drink from a menu. We picked pancakes and veg fried rice. We specially request no meat/egg. You also need to choose a time slot, and it gets delivered to your room. I asked for the 9am slot but was told it was full, so I took 9:30am. It arrived at 9:40am. However, we got the fried rice with sunny side up in our meal. My latte came at room temperature — not warm, not hot, room temperature. No water with the breakfast either, though someone brought two bottles later. It genuinely left a bad taste on the overall experience and I'd flag this to anyone planning to stay here. When we highlighted this with the resort, they sent an apology message. While checking out, they apologised and waived off the charge for the ice bucket as well. Thanks. Also worth mentioning we had 2 to 3 power cuts during the afternoon. Not ideal. On a brighter note we were celebrating our anniversary and had informed them beforehand. We came back to a small flower arrangement on the bed, which was a genuinely sweet touch and meant a lot. So credit where it's due. Overall, the private pool is the star of the show and the suite layout has potential. But too many small things felt unfinished or just not thought through: the bathroom supplies, the breakfast experience, charging for ice. It's not a bad place but it needs to sort out the basics before it can comfortably charge what it does. Manage your expectations going in and you might still enjoy it. Note: We also found the website does not show the correct information. For Studio Suite Villa, under Special Features it says - Mountain View. Beach View, Pool View. However, our villa had none. It is within closed wall perimeter. Something should be corrected.

Good customer service and location was just across plaza lagoi. Things that can be improved : water tap quality, food taste

We got ourselves a 2 bedroom villa, which was beautiful! The staff was polite and assisted us with our queries and issues. The villa has amenities nearby and a few places to dine and shop around the area. Grab/gojek may or may not be available so we had to use the hotel taxi (which may cost more). If you’re not planning to travel out of the area, this is a good place to stay. Just take note, as it’s around nature, insects also share the accommodations with you. 😂

Everything was fine. Though I might suggest Reception area to have more fans/renovation to be air conditioned. Walk way to room by nature was fine. Check in was smooth. Room was near and tidy, had a cute decoration for our arrival as well. As it's surrounded by nature, ants were around after night time and some rain. It amazed us as breakfast was served to our room - never had that service in any of our trips 😅 Honestly, it somehow met the expectations as per some other reviews on social media. The in-room pool temperature was perfect even during the night! Overall, would grade Kamuela 4.5/5! Great service by the team (Qory, Citra, Imam & Malvin). The communication through whatsapp was a first too! Prompt replies by the team.

Hotel is awesome & so as the location. The room was perfect for a family with a private pool, bathtub, attic & a large bedroom. The access to beach & shopping is just across the road. Overall a well spent relaxed holiday.

So surprised by how calm and peaceful this place is. The accommodation includes pick up and drop off and complimentary breakfast for The airport representative and receptionist was welcoming and warm. Their personality gives a sense of peace and calm that make you feel that you are really far from the usual hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel is in partnership with D’Bintan Spa and it gave us one of the best 90mins massage of our life that we have to do it again the next day. The accommodation is clean and well maintained. The room is spacious and really gives that serene and exclusive feel. The breakfast isn’t so much just filling but the taste is really really good makes us want to order more. The location of the hotel is really good. Infront of it is Plazq Lagoi where the famous Warung Yeah, Mama B and Gelatologi is located. The Lagoi Bay is literally 5mins walk, this is the beach area. The Kelong Seafood Restaurant is only 15mins drive away. I felt Bintan is underrated. I love how it felt like the locals know each other and lifts up one another. Good and peaceful community. Definitely coming back here.

the hotel team was "jumping" on us everytime we were passing by the lobby to propose extra services, tour bookings, massages....we already booked on our own : if they want to offer it is ok, but maybe before the stay or maybe a brochure in the room, this was too much for us.

I had a wonderful stay at Kamuela. This was my second stay in just two months. The staff were always pleasant, service was great and the room I stayed in was well worth the price. The private pool was a lovely addition. Even though we opted for one of the smaller villas, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Moreover, the villas are located in a very peaceful and quiet location close to the beach. The ambience is great and will definitely leave you feeling relaxed. I would definitely revisit in the future.

Services was great. The amenities was good. We really enjoyed the stay through out ! We even plan to stay here again if we are planninv to come here again. We did not regret choosing this villa for our stay. Thank you so much to the team !

We had stay as a couple at Kamuela Villas Lagoi Bay Bintan in February 2026. We booked the Deluxe Suite Villa, and overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The location is definitely a highlight, being near the beach made it perfect for a peaceful getaway. We really enjoyed morning walks and the calm atmosphere, away from the busy city life. The villa itself was clean and comfortable, which made our stay even more pleasant. However, we did notice that room maintenance could be improved. A few areas in the villa seemed to need better upkeep, which slightly affected the overall experience. That said, the ambiance, cleanliness, and proximity to the beach still make this place worth considering for couples looking for a quiet retreat. With some improvements in maintenance, it could easily become an even better stay.

Studio Suite Villa for our getaway. Overall, it was a peaceful and enjoyable escape, perfect for relaxing away from the busy city life. The villa was clean, cozy, and well-prepared upon arrival. Its location near the beach is definitely a big advantage, allowing us to enjoy quiet walks and the soothing ocean breeze. The atmosphere felt calm, private, and ideal for a couple’s retreat. We would like to give special thanks to Imam and Malvin, who were very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our experience. One suggestion for improvement would be better insect control. As the villa is surrounded by greenery, it’s understandable, but additional measures would help make the stay more comfortable, especially during the evening. We had a pleasant stay and would consider coming back again. With some improvements in insect management, the experience could be even better.

It was a memorable stay with great service and a calm, private atmosphere. I would definitely love to come back again.

I rarely write reviews, but this experience needs to be shared so other travellers can be more cautious. I made a booking months in advance for a group stay at Kamuela Villas Lagoi Bay Bintan and paid 70% upfront (over $1,000). The remaining balance was scheduled to be charged in December, but due to an unforeseen card issue while I was travelling, the payment did not go through and the booking was cancelled. Unfortunately, I was unaware of this at the time as I was overseas and did not see the email. I arrived in Bintan with 7 people, only to be told that our booking no longer existed. We were left stranded and had to secure last-minute accommodation at significantly higher prices. Here is the main issue: • The villa kept the 70% payment. • The unit was released and made available to other guests. • No stay or service was provided to us. • I had to pay even more to find alternative accommodation on the spot. Over the next 3 months, I tried to resolve this with both the property and Booking.com. I was repeatedly pushed back and forth between both parties with no ownership taken. Eventually, it was confirmed that Booking.com would process a refund if the property approved it—but the property refused, strictly citing “non-refundable policy.” While I understand policies exist, what is shocking is the complete lack of flexibility or goodwill: • No consideration that the unit was resold • No partial refund • No credit • No attempt to reach a fair middle ground This was not just about policy—it showed a complete lack of customer care and accountability. I want to be fair and say that the property itself looked good and the staff onsite were polite. But unfortunately, the way this situation was handled outweighs everything else. If you are booking here, please be extremely careful: If anything goes wrong, do not expect understanding, flexibility, or support—even in genuine situations. This has been one of the most disappointing travel experiences I’ve had, not because of the stay, but because of how I was treated as a customer.

Location was great with just 100m to plaza / shops and restaurants. The room to me was fantastic (maybe not five star in a city, but in its own unique way just wonderful … 180 sq mtr room with a private pool, spacious bedroom and very comfortable bed, shower in the garden and maybe a few insects but they don’t worry too much and if you don’t leave food out it’s ok! Opening the bedroom sliding door and falling into pool is a rare and wonderful experience

The hotel location was just opposite a mall which is very convenient and accessible. It is also near to the beach approx 5-7 mins walk. I love the spacious villa and room service efficiency. It is easy to communicate via WA.

They could improve on the lack of food choices for breakfast. Personally I feel that the room spa was a little disappointing. During my stay, my daughter and I was stung by a bee. A baby bat lingering in the room which scares me and my family tremendously and being wary every morning of monkey visits (though we were lucky not to have experience it). Thankfully, the bat was caught the next day after we made a report.

The villas were lovely and spacious, the location was great and the staff were wonderful! They continuosly made every effort to meet our requests in terms of food/transport etc.

While the rooms were lovely, the cleanliness and maintainance were not too great if you looked closely.... (e.g. safes in all our rooms were not working, rusy parts, some doors that dint shut etc). The other thing that we dint enjoy too much was that you had to select breakfast one day in advance... we were a very big group, and then there was no room to change your mind. While the kitchen staff did their best, it was not so pleasant that we had to choose in advance, and then sometimes still got told that some things were not available... and then sometimes, the same thing would be different from one day to the next (e.g. granola was served with 4/5 different fruits one day, and just a banana the next)- maybe it was the time of the year... but this was a small inconvenience in an otherwise wonderful stay of days!

The villa is 5 mins walk from Lagoi Bay beach, 1 min to Plaza Lagoi and 15mins car ride to the ferry terminal. The rooms are clean, and every room comes with a pool (1.3m), so if you are lazy to go out, just stay in the villa and order room service. The service of the staff is impeccable. Everyone was so polite and they really help try their best to accommodate. Breakfast was served to the room and we got to choose different items everyday. Honestly, I have no complains about the villa. Just that everything closes pretty early (before 11pm) at that part of Bintan, so if you know you are gonna be hungry late at night, better buy some takeaways so you have things to eat at night. The rooms look exactly like how it is from the photos on their website, booking sites. No surprises!

Having a private pool was excellent along 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. The living area was lovely and spacious and we liked the outdoor feel to it without the walls. Amazing location. Close to the beach and plaza with restaurants The on-site restaurant was very good. Having our breakfast delivered to our villa,ea h morning was a real treat. Sraff service was excellent.

Due to the outdoor layout, it felt difficult to keep it ant and bug free. Some things needed updating or replacement like the kitchen. The bathroom doors didnt close etc. A few modernisations would take it to the next level. The TV didnt work the whole time.
