The Red House Guest House

The location to the Grantham city center was good. We could easily walk to stores and restaurants.

It did not meet our standards. There was no extra toilet paper or hand towels in the bathroom. The bath towels seemed to almost be an afterthought. The lighting was poor throughout the entire suite. Breakfast was only available for an hour in the morning, and at a time most guests would probably not be up. Overall, the place could have used a cleaning and upgrade.

The Red House was in walkable proximity to the train station and very easy to find. I liked the architecture of the building and the look. Stella was so welcoming on my arrival that I instantly felt at ease and at home. My room was clean and very comfortable, all the linen felt fresh and I had a good night’s sleep. There was tea and coffee makings in the room as well. The cooked breakfast in the morning was also lush… My overnight stay was very pleasant and if I’m up in that neck of the woods again, I would definitely stay in the Red House again.

Nice staff and clean comfy room. Had a separate shared bathroom which was convenient to access. Last minute booking and staff stayed open to let me in.

There wasn’t really anything I disliked but I did find the road parking area was busy.

The only comfortable way to see the tv was to sit in bed - fine for the limited time I was there but wouldn't work for longer. Nowhere comfortable to work on a laptop.

This place is good value for the money but it is an older property with the usual shortcomings of such.

Noisy water pipes, and rattling from the door when people above moved about.

The host, Stella, was an absolute delight. She was kind and considerate. I will happily stay there again when I am next in Grantham.

Short to bars and restaurants and excellent parking.

Toilet was loose, needed screwing down. T. V was on top of the wardrobe and hidden by the chimney breast. Stairs were a bit small to negotiate

The bed was very comfortable and had a lovely night's sleep. The breakfast host was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was absolutely lovely. Nice warm shower.

There could have been a few more channels for choice on the TV.

This guesthouse was a pleasure to arrive to, and to stay in. Really clean, comfortable, welcoming and for all that, cheap too. The only downside was that we were only staying for one night.

Can hear the traffic outside, as the room was located in the basement some people walks on the grills above,which you can hear, wasn't to keen on the shared bathroom

Breakfast was value for money. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly making sure everything was ok. They were very helpful when we needed help. The hotel was very central to town.

Easy to find. I was able to park next to the property. I had a large bathroom and a full sized bath tub (very nice). Plenty of hot water.

No decaf coffee in rooms. Electric fan could do with some instructions.

Couldn’t praise the staff more, very helpful and polite. The room was lovely and during the hotter pretty cool with a fan in the room.

The host is lovely and went out of her way to make us welcome. She exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond to to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble.

The room was small. Window had to be propped open with a piece of wood. Paintwork was patchy which is hilarious. Owners really need to update and spend money on the place. We stayed in the anex... rooms are dated. Smell of damp as you walk in. The reason we didn't complain is because the lovely lady managing it was so nice and couldn't do enough for you. She is a credit to the Owners and deserves a raise. Without her I think the place would be dreadful

The room was small and dated, the bathroom was hideous you couldn't get in the shower without opening the bathroom door and no plug on the vanity basin. So ridiculously small. Dirty stains on the curtains, dated furniture, the window needed painting. To top it all we had to climb two flights of stairs to get to this awful room. We were supposed to stay two nights but couldn't stand to stay any longer than one. Very poor and disappointing

The room was satisfactory and bed clean and comfortable. The landlady was lovely and friendly.

The ensuite needs some serious amendments. Whoever was responsible for silconing anywhere and almost everywhere that they thought it needed must have been about 2yrs old. It was dreadful and an eyesore everytime we used the bathroom. We didn't use the shower as it was the smallest shower tray possible. The decor and electric wall plug situation was poor and could do with a refurbishment. Wouldn't stay there again unfortunately just due to specifically the condition of the ensuite.

In the end I didn't stay. I felt bit uncomfortable about having a bathroom across the hall, even if it was private. I was told, but didn't really register that until I checked in. The room was certainly clean and thd staff member was polite. Cheap and cheerful, just not right for me in this occasion.

Room advertised/book as en-suite double, but bathroom across landing. Plus another guest in annex on her own. Again not clear that this room was external and down the road from the main property. Descriptions were not clear enough. This was a special weekend stay and accommodation was a real disappointment that it affected our enjoyment

The Red House is a very attractive historic building within walking distance of the centre of Grantham, and with public parking out front. The bedroom and bathroom were both generously proportioned as well as comfortable, and beautifully furnished matching the style of the building. Checking in was quick and easy, with the host being very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended.

The lady was very helpful and understanding when the hospital cancelled my husband's operation. I had added an exrra night then needed to cancel that. Parking was good.
