Minca Ecohabs Hotel

The design of the rooms and layout of the hotel.

Nothing really major, only the noise of the traffic from the road below. We were expecting the restaurant to be open for lunch and dinner but there was no chef, and there was never any coffee at reception, but these were small things.

Mooie hutjes, badkamer met warm water, zalige hangmatten, prachtige omgeving. Dorp gemakkelijk bereikbaar te voet met gezellige restaurantjes en cafés. Fantastisch

La habitación, las vistas y el personal.

Se les pasó limpiar la habitación, no pasa nada por eso, pero podrían haber tenido un detalle con nosotros en vez de darnos una escoba sucia para que la limpiaramos nosotros la habitación. El trabajador con el que tratamos el tema no fue agradable. El resto del staff fueron majísimos. Llegamos en sábado, y tuvimos una música altísimo (que venía de otro establecimiento) de fondo durante todo el día y noche, sin exagerar, hasta el domingo por la noche.

Great location, beautiful property

Unhygienic shower, no cupboard space in rooms, bugs everywhere despite mosquito net on bed, long walk and climb to get to breakfast, which was, after all that,average!

The facilities were nicely designed with attention to detail.

Our room faced the main road to Minca on one side and the reception area on the other side so we had noise coming from both areas during the day. We were actually surprised how close the road noise feels regardless of the lush vegetation around our unit! This was dissapointing as we were expecting a very serene atmosphere.

Las vistas de la habitación son muy bonitas y el lugar te hace sentir en medio de la selva. Es un sitio tranquilo y el desayuno está bastante bien.

El ruido de la cama es inadmisible. Crujía al más mínimo movimiento y como está todo abierto, se oían las camas de las demás habitaciones. Hay zonas de la mosquitera que están rotas. El sitio del desayuno está un poco lejos.

Echt een ervaring om hier te slapen! Het uitzicht vanuit de hut, de omgeving: prachtig! De hut was comfortabel en zag er mooi uit. We hebben er lekker geslapen. En je loopt makkelijk Minca in. In het donker teruglopen is ook goed te doen.

Het was een beetje zoeken met de klamboes die niet helemaal sloten. In dit gebied zitten veel muggen. Ben je ervan bewust dat er geen airco is. 's nachts hadden we hier geen last van. Het koelde prima af (en er waren ventilatoren). Maar overdag was het echt warm.

Beautiful view from most bungalows, and especially from restaurant. Nice to relax in hammock on balcony. Short walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to shops, restaurants, cafes etc in Minca - but would not say good location given the noise (see below).

The overall experience was disappointing . We booked and paid for 2 nights but left after the first night. On the basis of the photos, the setting seems idyllic, but we did not find it idyllic at all. The view is beautiful, but the cottages have bug screens for windows so you hear everything and unfortunately that’s a lot more than the soothing sound of chirping insects: you are right next to the Santa Marta - Minca main road below and also pretty close to restaurants/ bars/houses so it’s very noisy both at day and at night with lots of traffic on the road, loud music, barking dogs and partying people. Had a bad night. Not what we expected at all when looking at the photos of this place. If you choose a Minca hotel, we would recommend looking for a place much further away from the road and noise. The rooms are basic. We had two cottages, one had hot water, the other didn’t. The restaurant was only open for breakfast. The mosquitos are bad, wear repellent!

Posizione inmersa nella natura e che regala scorci spettacolari al suo interno.

Great views and location. Easy walk to village (without luggage). collectivo from Santa Marta gets you close.

Sheets were not cotton, so hot. Sound proofing needs to be improved for next door rooms.

Paramos en una cabaña de dos plantas, con muy buena vista, dos hamacas para descansar y buenas camas para la noche. El lugar es accesible, el taxi llega hasta la puerta y la gente del lugar es predispuesta para alcanzarte las maletas hasta la habitación, ya que hay algunas escaleras y rampas largas. El desayuno lo ofrecen en otro espacio, bastante a la entrada. Hay que saber que siempre hay que bajar y subir, porque las cabañas están distantes entre sí y el desayunador. El personal es excelente, nos hicieron sentir muy bien.

Hay que saber que hay cierta precariedad por el lugar donde se encuentran las cabañas. No hay que esperar lujo sino un espacio sencillo con el encanto de parar en una zona selvática aunque está muy cerca del pueblo y se puede ir y venir caminando. Lamentablemente uno de los días se cortó la electricidad en toda la zona, por lo tanto también el wifi, y eso obligó a que bajara al pueblo con oscuridad para buscar algo de comer, pese a que llevé una linterna, y hubo que esperar varias horas hasta que volviera la electricidad. Al parecer es algo que suele ocurrir cada tanto y el hotel no cuenta con equipo electrógeno para estas emergencias.

Cela ne nous a pas dérangé mais à savoir qu'il y a beaucoup d'escaliers. Pas vraiment de personnel chaleureux même si nous avons apprécie de pouvoir arriver tardivement.

La posizione, comoda e il signor Edwin che offriva il servizio taxi.

Noi abbiamo preso l'appartamento per avere maggior confort e il prezzo non era proprio economico rispetto a quello che abbiamo trovato: innanzitutto la casa non aveva le finestre. Quello che si vede in foto non sono vetrate ma zanzariere per di piu tutte bucate e tra una zanzariera e l altra c'erano delle fessure dalle quali entravano gli insetti. Va da se che entra sporcizia in continuazione e l'ambiente diventa poco accogliente e poco confortevole ed è estremamente umido. Siamo stati massacrati di mosquitos tutta la notte. Mancava la carta igienica, la manopola dell'acqua della doccia non si può regolare. Il tetto non è ermetico.

Really cool place out in nature, staff were super helpful, really enjoyed my tour booked through here. Rooms were big and spacious , even had warm water which I was impressed with

Cet hôtel est situé dans la nature à 5min à pied du centre de Minca et de plein de petites rando à faire jusqu'à des sites superbes.La chambre était un petit havre de paix avec un balcon et un hamac! Le personnel était aux petits soins.

Ce n'est pas très grave mais sur 4 nuits il y a eu 3 coupures d'électricité le soir donc penser à prendre une lampe torche!

La ubicación es muy espectacular, se ven tucanes y mucho verde, el personal agradable.

Mosquitera rota, así como otras partes de la habitación que hace que se cuelen bichos....instalaciones algo dejadas, sabanas no muy limpias.... Le falta un poco de atención y mimo a las habitaciones...

Malheureusement le soir et jusqu’à minuit, le bruit des motos est parfois plus fort que les bruits de la nature. Mais l’expérience est belle.

L’esprit cabane en plein milieu des arbres, la multitude d’oiseaux. Le personnel est très sympa et agréable.

Les moustiques sont très présents. Cependant il y a des trous partout dans les moustiquaires. Et il y a des ouvertures partout dans les cloisons. Et l’hôtel est proche de la route et on entend en permanence les camions et les motos. Le remplacement du matelas est plus que nécessaire.

Es una hermosa opción cabaña de montaña. Una muy buena ubicación.

Solo que las cabañas de abajo. No son silenciosas. Se escucha el ruido y música del pueblo.

The restaurant : Ok for breakfast, not good for dinner

Minibar. Hammock. Breakfast is fine. Room is spacious. Nice viewpoint for sunset.

Noise!! Aparently there is road under the accomodation so even you are in the wood you can see all the traffic and also the music from the restaurant/pub? close to the accomodation. Windows are open so there is no way to eliminate the noise. Breakfast service was very strange. You had to look for somebody. Bathroom was not cleaned properly, found leftover sock in bath.:/ No hangers.

Good to be surrounded by trees

The toilet / bathroom area could have some mosquito nets as well. Some mosquito coils would help. The hammock being on the balcony is highly exposed to mosquitoes and insects so hard for us to enjoy.

El entorno de Ecohabs es lo mejor, no era extraño que nos visitará algún colibrí a la habitación. Además está apenas a 10 minutos del pueblo para tomar algo.

La hermeticidad antimosquitos de la habitación es mejorable. Bien lo demas

Mooie en ruime kamer. Eventjes wandelen van het centrum maar op zich wel dichtbij. Wel redelijk gehorig met de weg die eronder rijdt.

Great location in the jungle hills. And the view we had from the Colibri cabin was nothing short of amazing! Worth every penny

Frukosten va lite väl tråkig.

L'accueil fabuleux, le surclassement dans un logement en pleine nature. Petit-déjeuner très correct. L'emplacement au milieu des arbres et des oiseaux (colibris). Pas très loin du centre (7min à pied).

The balcony with the hammock in the middle of nature was the best! I really loved the privacy and the closeness to nature when being on the balcony. Also when being inside in the room you still felt very close to nature due to the windows only covered with mosquito nets.

It’s a pity the restaurant only serves breakfast and was otherwise closed. Especially when it was raining heavily all day long, it would have been nice to have a restaurant close by. Otherwise you have to walk to the town centre

Kind and attentive staff, especially Justin, who gave us an upgrade, answered all our questions and was friendly and informative. We loved the bamboo houses - the construction is really fascinating, and the views of course are incredible. The rooms were spacious and clean and beds fitted mosquito nets. We had a hammock and spacious balcony, and outside furniture to enjoy the view. Ecohabs is a short walk from the shops and restaurants in town, but far away enough to enjoy the peace of nature.

It is absolute stunning views from the room and a nice shower

You have to be okay with bugs cause there is a lot even though there is a mosquito net. We wanted to do our laundry and we wanted to make sure it would be ready for us leaving the day after, so we asked the staff when it would be ready he said it would take 2-3 hours, which sounded perfect! After 5 hours we asked if it’s ready and he says it will be ready in the morning at 8am when we came at 10 am (the day we had to check out) he said it will be ready at 1pm which is after check out and we had to one pack and two catch a bus, so we end up getting our clothes still a bit wet and they ruined one pair of shorts and a bikini, we did not even get any discount from this.. very poor service. Also breakfast was very boring and if you dont like coffee, then too bad because they do not provide other drinks.

Lovely situated against the hill, great birdlife, nice hammock on the balcony for relaxing. Close to town, 5-10 min walk. Helpful staff.

Mozzies still attack in spite of fly screen and mozzie net, the electricity outage was very annoying, no Internet once the generator was turned off, bad water pressure in the shower, breakfast not recommendable. At night you hear the traffic from the road and even music from nearby houses

La vista es excelente, ademas se pueden apreciar diversas aves.

Sehr schön gelegenes, nachhaltiges Hotel etwas ausserhalb von Minca. Die Zimmer haben eine wunderbare Aussicht in den Urwald und je nach Lage auch auf Santa Marta, das Meer mit wunderschönen Sonnenuntergängen. Das Personal ist hilfreich.

Das Frühstück könnte man mit wenig Aufwand und Kosten verbessern, indem man Tee, Wasser und etwas Saft anbietet. Wir haben das bemängelt und am nächsten Tag gab es zumindest heisses Wasser und Saft.

La vista fue maravillosa. Las instalaciones están en medio de la naturaleza y son muy comodas.

La ubicación es hermosa, queríamos estar en contacto con la naturaleza y lo encontramos aquí. Todo el día era un concierto de cantos de las aves y las chicharras. Hay senderos naturales para caminar y observar la naturaleza, hay un mirador espectacular y privado. El balcón con hamaca fue mi lugar favorito!

En el momento en el que fuimos no había servicio de restaurante, pero nos descontaron el valor de los desayunos que estaban incluidos. En el momento en que fuimos estaban en remodelación de algunas zonas, se escuchaban los ruidos de la obra, pero solamente fue el primer día cuando llegamos, de resto no lo volvimos a notar. Si sufres de las rodillas quizá no es el lugar para tí, el acceso a las cabañas es por escalones de piedras, pero las ubicación del hotel lo vale.

The view is absolutely incredible, and the peace that permeates this place is wonderful. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they also give you lots of tips on what to do nearby. You can also wash your clothes there and they will return them clean and folded. We were so lucky that almost every morning two toucans came to visit us, sometimes two squirrels, and of course many different kinds of birds. Keep in mind that the bungalow doesn't have glass windows, so you'll hear the cicadas and salamanders all night long, and the birds will wake you up very early in the morning. You might also encounter the occasional spider. I don't recommend bringing heavy suitcases as access to each bungalow is a bit difficult.

For such a beautiful view, it would be nice to have the option of having coffee in the room, but it wasn't available. 😅maybe The lack of glass windows and a door makes it difficult to sleep and you can hear everything, but it's understandable since we're in the jungle.

This place was magical, we heard and saw so many birds directly in front of our "room", which was more or less a house we had to our own, surrounded by nature and hammocks. It was not too close to town so it was pretty calm, but also not too far out, it was possible to walk about ten minutes to restaurants and shops. The breakfast and food in general were great. We loved the fact that - compared to other accomodations around - they had mosquito nets at the windows, so you could feel the breeze at night, but not have (too many) insects in the room.

Bring cash and mosquito spray! There are no real ATMs in town and they add a five percent fee on card payments everywhere, also in the hotel. The mosquitoes are vicous and numerous, even if they have mosquito nets at the windows, they have holes here and there. But there's another one around the bed, so they didn't bother us at night.

We loved the place! It’s high up in the jungle, yet near town at the same time. It’s a little paradise with birds chirping from dusk. The hut is a dream with hammocks on the terrace. All the staff are super helpful. I loved every second of our stay.

The property had excellent views across and back to the City of Santa Marta, you felt really connected with the wildlife and the views from breakfast were fantastic.

El hotel es un paraíso. Se ven muchísimos pájaros por la mañana y al atardecer. Es tranquilo y se puede ir caminando al centro sin problemas

El desayuno fue realmente escaso considerando el precio que se paga por el alojamiento. También creemos que se podría mejorar el trato por parte del restaurante como por uno de los conserjes (de noche).

Wir hatten eine Familienlodge zu zweit gebucht. War zweistöckig und sehr geräumig mit toller Aussicht und einem schönen Balkon mit Hängematten. Eine sehr angenehme Lage inmitten des Waldes. Es hat uns super gefallen. Sehr gutes Frühstück und Dusche sogar mit warmem Wasser. Tolles Personal.

Die Zufahrt ist abenteuerlich.

Staff was very friendly (reception and restaurant), nice view, very green, well kept. Spacious room.

My biggest issue were the sounds. The street is nearby so when trucks or motorbikes drive past it's quite loud. My room was right next to the reception and laundry room and right underneath another apartment - so I was constantly hearing my neighbors, the reception and the washing machine sounds and vibrations (the latter drove me crazy). The restaurant is nice but a bit of a walk to get there and breakfast is just a snack. The mosquito screens aren't fixed well so it's easy for bugs to get in, the mosquito nets over the bed don't close, so it's more for show than being useful.

Minca Ecohabs is a wonderful place. The location is excellent: easy access from the town and you have your own private mirador to spot all the biodiversity. Personnel is super friendly and helpful!
