Mari was a wonderful host. She speaks some English, which is very helpful , and she went above and beyond to help us when my husband lost his wallet. She contacted the police on our behalf, and thanks to her help we were able to recover it. She also personally welcomed us during a late arrival in heavy rain and helped us get settled, which we really appreciated. You stay in a cabin in the forest next to Mari’s house. It is a duplex, so there can be other guests. Unfortunately, during our stay the people above us were quite loud on the terrace. This is a pity because the location is absolutely perfect for birdwatching, and noise does affect the experience. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows were excellent, and we slept well. We used the double bed, but there are also three single beds available. Take into account that water if cold, no hot showers. The outdoor setting is simply stunning. The number of birds and even toucans is incredible, and this really deserves more promotion. Jungle Joe, a well-known birdwatching spot, is located nearby, which says a lot about the area. If you are interested in birds, this accommodation is ideal. You can already see so much just from the terrace. There was even a hummingbird feeder on the terrace, attracting many hummingbirds throughout the day. The cabin is about a 15-minute walk from the city center. We loved this walk, but it may not be for everyone. Taxis usually don’t go all the way up, while motorcycles are more convenient. On the same road, there are some nice restaurants with beautiful panoramic views. Another positive surprise was that there were actually very few mosquitoes. There is a kitchen, but the cooking equipment is quite limited. Filtered drinking water is provided, which was perfectly fine for us. As a small suggestion, offering instant coffee powder would be a nice extra (not the one for the french press). Overall, a beautiful place!

Very little to dislike. You get exactly what you pay for and even a bit more. It’s not luxury accommodation; the cabin is basic but fully met our needs. One small tip: bring a sleeping mask, as it’s difficult to make the room completely dark.

Prachtige, rustige plek, fantastisch uitzicht vanaf het balkon en door de ramen. We hebben veel vogels en vlinders gezien. Vanuit je bed zie je al toekans, kolibrie's en andere vogels en vlinders. Zeer ruime woning met warme douche en goede klamboe. Prettige afstand van het dorp en dichtbij genoeg om daar te eten (of te laten bezorgen). Eigenaresse gaf ons een warm welkom. We zijn langer gebleven. Er is veel te ontdekken in de omgeving.

Niets. In de hele regio zijn veel muggen, let daarop bij het openen van deuren. Je hebt hier in ieder geval wel een goede klamboe en natuurlijke anti-insektenspray tot je beschikking.

L'emplacement idéal, pas trop loin de la ville et surtout une belle vue sur la forêt. Les colibris qui viennent nous rendre visite. L'espace est grand et l'aménagement intérieur très sympa. Merci encore à María Claudia et Javier pour tous vos conseils et idées de visites. Nous avons passé de très bons moments dans votre maison 👍. Nous y retournerons sans hésitation. A bientôt.

It was a very spacious flat in a peaceful location, tucked away but not far from Minca’s town center. The hot shower was good, the kitchen was well equiped if we needed to cook. We were provided with drinking water and the hosts were very nice and helpful, speaking french, english and spanish.

The spare beds in the living room were not comfortable to sleep on. They were a bit too hard.

Beautiful property with great facilities. Lovely to be able to lounge in a peaceful area and watch the birds but only a short walk to the main town. The hosts were amazingly helpful and generous with their recommendations.

Dit was het mooiste appartement in Colombia tijdens onze vakantie. Het is heel groot, de keuken is volledig ingericht en het mooiste is het uitzicht vanaf het ruime balkon op de jungle met vele toekans. De eigenaresse is heel vriendelijk en verstrekt veel informatie over de omgeving.

Incredible views. Very well thought through to be usable. The town of Minca is bigger than we realized and has many restaurants and several stores, including both food and a pharmacy.

The only catch is both a pro and a con…. It is a bit remote. Awesome, right? (Yes!). But the uber driver refused to go up the dirt road all the way so we had to carry our luggage the last .5 miles. Doable.

The hosts were amazing and were extremely warming when we arrived.

Simply perfect. Amazing hosts and location. One of the rare truly quiet places we’ve stayed in Colombia, yet walking distance to town.

This is a tastefully decorated, very private one bedroom apartment about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Minca. The hosts Mary and Fernando were very kind and provided helpful advice for my stay. The spacious kitchen and living area, good storage, quality bedding and generous balcony taking in the lush surroundings set this place apart.

It's unfortunate there was a bit of construction work going on in the neighbourhood. I was looking for peace and quiet, so it wasn't quite what I expected. Of course this kind of disruption won't last forever. A washing machine and dryer would complete the apartment.

The apartment is very cozy, comfortable and well designed. The owners are very nice people and very informative about the place and local culture. The outdoors are unique and allow to enjoy the surrounding landscape and fauna.

The location is slightly difficult to reach on foot with suitcases, but the view wouldn’t have be so amazing if it had been closer to town.

Welcome to Sisiumake, exceptional territory of the birds. Wake up to the mountain tops of the Sierra Nevada and start the day with an orchestra of song birds. Enjoy your coffee from the panoramic kitchen or out on your private terrace. Abuelo 1 is a quick 7 minute walk away from the town and just as close to the river for a swim amongst butterflies. The perfect stay for individuals, couples or small family for vacation or teleworking. Mari and Fer really made our stay memorable. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Nada que decir

The overall experience was excellent! The apartment was clean and commodious, we liked hanging out in the hammock in the balcony just listening to birds singing. It was quiet and secluded but still only a short walk to restaurants/activities in Minca. There was a misunderstanding with Booking/the owners but they were willing to sort it out which shows that they care for their guests. We ended up staying an extra week because we liked staying there so much!

The internet was cut a few times during our stay, but nothing serious.

Very nice house, very clean and adapted to our family, with an AMAZING view in the middle of the nature. The hosts were really nice, welcoming us and our children in such a warm way, they made us really feel at home. It has been great to stay at Eden los Abuelos and we fully recommend it !!
