Nice place lovely food & a good bar option
The parking is not to my liking having to pay to park after paying over one hundred and fifty pounds I thought was very poor
The staff, room, food was amazing. Was met with a very polite lady on reception who couldn’t do anymore for me. After being shown to my amazing room I booked into the restaurant and had a delicious steak finished with homemade sticky toffee pudding.
Nothing to dislike.
n/a as hotel cancelled on the day
Extremely disappointing experience after my confirmed booking was cancelled at 2:57pm on the day of arrival. Despite the hotel stating that my refund had been made that day, Booking.com subsequently had to contact them to confirm I had not stayed before processing it. The last-minute cancellation, poor communication, lack of meaningful apology and no goodwill gesture made this a very poor customer experience.
Novel decor, themes and rooms.
Some public areas a little tired and dusty cobwebs hanging from the room ceiling. Parking can be challenging.
Day staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was lovely and room was very nice and clean
The room was a little pricey for a one night stay in a property outside the city centre
The property is situated in a convenient place.
Took an hour to check into the room as it wasn’t ready, room was dirty and the shower gel dispenser hadn’t been refilled. The aircon in the room wasn’t working properly either.
I stay here regularly for work - it’s consistently excellent. Wonderful decor, excellent service; a rare and classy gem hidden away but very close to the motorway. Good restaurant, too.
Nothing.
Hotel
Parking was terrible. Afternoon tea. Was mediocre. Evening meal over charged couldnt open windowa as on flight path to airport. Which we weren't told
Gorgeous hotel, clean and in beautiful surroundings . Staff were great on reception and the girl front of house in the dining area was helpful.
Had a nightmare experience at breakfast. Food took an hour to arrive, items missing, burnt, and cold. My friend ordered a gf meal that was basically scrambled egg, tomato, mushroom and bacon. It arrived with bread. She asked if it was gf bread and the man said it was. She wasn't convinced so asked someone else, they checked and it wasn't, which could have been catastrophic for her. Breakfast was £20 per person!
Lovely building and setting. Clean, staff were friendly.
Little details were missing/ off the mark. Eg. cheap coffee pods for a Nespresso machine, no tissues in the room. Breakfast offering was limited.
The shower and the bed
Marks all over the walls and also things in the room already broken. Possible way to try and keep the deposit.
Great location near the airport
Clean and a lovely hotel. Staff are great.
Could do with more parking, some cars parked on double yellows although there is pay and display very close.
Breakfast good but a little disorganised the first morning as no clear instructions Location very good and quiet away from noisy roads.
No clear instructions at breakfast at what to do. Room carpet could do with a shampoo
I booked Oddfellows around six months before my wedding, reserving one of the Kendal Suites for the nights either side of the big day. As our wedding venues did not offer somewhere to get ready, I specifically chose the hotel as a luxury base for my bridal party, wedding preparations and wedding night. To begin with, there were some positives. My mother and 86-year-old grandmother arrived at the 3pm check-in time to find the rooms were not yet ready, but staff were kind and accommodating while they waited and even offered complimentary breakfast as an apology. Unfortunately, things deteriorated from there. I arrived with my bridesmaids on 13 August during the 35°C heatwave. Almost immediately, the door handle to my suite fell off. It was repaired, only to fall off again, and then a third time later that evening. Far more concerning, however, was the temperature in the room. The air conditioning appeared to be blowing hot air. When we queried this, we were initially told the system was being reset and would shortly be working. After several conversations, I was eventually informed that the air conditioning was not functioning in the upstairs rooms at all and that the best solution was to use the unit in fan mode. This was devastating news on the eve of my wedding. I had booked what was marketed as a luxury suite and was facing getting ready for one of the most important days of my life in a room that was hotter than my own home. By that point, after months of planning and a stressful day of final preparations, I was in tears. What happened next is the reason this review is not lower. The staff were exceptional. Faced with a very upset bride, they showed genuine kindness and empathy. One member of staff even brought in a portable air conditioning unit from her own home. They moved me into another room for the night and could not have done more to help. What I found difficult to understand, however, was why guests were apparently still being allowed to book these rooms without clear warning about the air conditioning issues. Staff told me that guests had previously been contacted in advance and given the opportunity to cancel, but that this had stopped shortly before our stay. If that is correct, it raises serious questions about management decisions. Fortunately, one of my bridesmaids had a cooler downstairs room and we were able to get ready there on the morning of the wedding. My husband and I returned to the suite on our wedding night and managed by opening all the windows. To date, we have not been offered any refund or partial refund despite paying approximately £550 for a room with repeated maintenance issues and no functioning air conditioning during a heatwave. My lasting impression is that the hotel is fortunate to have such dedicated and caring staff. They worked incredibly hard to rescue a situation that should never have arisen in a hotel positioning itself as a luxury venue. The failures here were not those of the frontline team, but of the management decisions that placed both staff and guests in such a difficult position. Would I stay again? Possibly. Would I book one of the upstairs suites during warm weather? Absolutely not.
The location and the staff were very helpful.
The bathroom. Frosted glass doors on the toilet with clear margins either side don’t provide enough privacy. MY partner and I have been together 30’years and know each other well, but we have no desire to see or listen to each other in the toilet. The room was quite cramped. It wouldve been nice to have a pot of tea/coffee rather than keep going up to the station to get refills.
Nice location, limited parking but public car park is adjacent and only £4 a day. Room was great, clean and comfortable with quirky decor. Staff were all lovely and welcoming.
Breakfast is a bit limited, menu good but continental options poor, no fruit/yoghurt, limited cereals, and few pastries.
Very comfy bed, great shower and friendly staff
Toilet roll was very thin
Lovely hotel, beautiful room, fantastic location. Everything was perfect at this location the only slight complaint I would have is bed was a little hard for us but that’s just personal preference.
Location is in the middle of a lovely park you can’t even tell your in the city
Location and proximity to other places around the hotel were excellent.
It was very warm especially in the room we had. The staff provided fans which helped a little but air conditioning would have been beneficial. Breakfast let the place down…
Beautiful location, stylish decor and good room facilities.
Room very hot due to weather conditions.. unfortunately a wedding reception meant that excessive noise outside so window could not be opened. Aircon in room not up to the job.
Location and cleanliness
The air con in our room wasn’t that effective
Lovely building in a great setting
Unfortunately a limited menu on a Sunday evening, we had already eaten Sunday lunch so just wanted a snack.
Staff and accommodations were excellent.
Amazing location and very kind and friendly staff.
The history and quirky decor. Park setting and terrace. Outlook. Friendly accommodating staff.
The wifi did not reach our room. The parking in the public parking meant walking back in the dark by the light of our torches….a minor hiccup only.
Often stay here, before flying on our holidays. Alwats comfortable , clean and staff freindly . Casuel atmodphere.
Super friendly staff, lots of character to the hotel. Lovely location in the centre of the park.
Aircraft noise and lack of working aircon.
Some staff were excellent. Reception and night manager / person especially. Barman good and restaurant service ok
trained restaurant service
The most wonderful hotel and the hotel is made outstanding by the amazing staff!!! Amanda is outstanding so is Hamera, Gracie, and Harry...... i had the most incredible time and recommend this place so so much!!!c
Loved the views, the rooms were beautiful
Nothing. All great!
Everything
Nothing
Room was £220 but terrible value at the weekend as they had a wedding taking place so the place was packed with wedding guests meaning it was very crowded. Breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive and the food was cold so we couldn’t eat it. Staff were pretty hopeless. Not recommended.
Lovely room, good breakfast and dinner
Lovely setting , room was very nice and spacious.
Really like it all, nothing negative.
Room cleanliness was not of a high standard. The hotel was tired in places
have visited The Galloping Major restaurant several times over the years with friends for afternoon tea & I have always enjoyed it. I had Sunday lunch with my family yesterday, we felt the food & service were terrible. I ordered a glass of red wine, the waitress gave me a glass of white wine by mistake, took it away and brought back a glass of red. The glass was dirty & had lipstick on it so I poured the red wine into a spare water glass that was already on the table. We were given menus and when we asked about Sunday roasts, we were told that you don’t offer this on a Sunday lunchtime. The waitress checked with the chef who agreed to offer us chicken pork or beef roast dinner. We ordered a pork roast which arrived as pork belly with very hard potatoes and very hard vegetables. The steak sandwich arrived stone-cold. The fish & chips, was also disappointing, the fish batter was very hard & inedible. The waitress apologised about the service and said they were really busy but the place was virtually empty. This was a special occasion for my mum and we left feeling really disappointed. I’m not sure what has happened since my last visit but the standards have really gone downhill.
The location was perfect . my husband enjoyed breakfast I unfortunately although I had paid for bed and breakfast could not have mine as breakfast at weekend is from 8.am unlike any other hotels I have stayed at, no alternative was suggested like a pack up needed to be at at a different venue by 8.30 am so would not have had time to eat.
We could not get food in the restaurant on our second night, the staff said due to the hot weather the kitchens were closed, they asked had we booked. We had not when we walked past the restaurant there were three couples having meals. I asked staff why they could have meals but my husband and I could not, the staff could not answer why . I would of expected nobody to be eating in the restaurant if it was allegedly closed.. It was a Sunday night everywhere that served food locally was closed. so we didn't have a meal
Amazing location and quirky decor
Lovely venue and delicious afternoon tea. Our thanks to Finley for looking after us so well this afternoon too, she was delightful. We'll definitely be back.
Room was lovely and a nice touch with towels arranged into swan love hearts.
Aircon had broken but staff had worked hard adding 2 fans into the room to ease the situation - these things happen and we had booked the specific room for our wedding night so not much else could be done at a late stage. Breakfast itself was good although coffee on the cold side and pastries/bread very low in choice. We arrived for breakfast at 9.45, noting it was until 10am which may explain it.
Good sized room with comfortable bed and good shower. Good food at the restaurant, and nice, cooked to order breakfast
Room was in upper floor and was hot given the unusually hot weather. The room had air conditioning but this was not effective, making the room somewhat uncomfortable at night.
Fabulous dinner
A/C wasn't working in a heatwave - but was glad we had been informed in advance as we brought a fan - but i thought there should have been big fans in the room - maybe ceiling fans for the future?
Location is fantastic, perfect for a stroll around the park and very quiet
I’m personally not into the taxidermy animals but I see how they match the decor and vibe
Lovely location, let down massively by the lack of housekeeping. We had a beautiful room and it was dirty and grubby, a real let down. Air conditioning did not work and the noise from the airplanes from 6am was off putting. Breakfast was ok. Not sure we would return.
I stayed at the Oddfellows for 2 nights in July as a base for my wedding (wedding was at another venue) with my bridesmaids and parents, so we had 4 rooms in total. From the moment we arrived, the host Michelle could not do enough for us. She even offered to help move our luggage to the rooms, which was so kind (we had lots of stuff!!). She helped find a cool place in the hotel to store my flowers overnight as it was quite a warm day and I was worried about them wilting in the heat in the rooms. The property was beautiful and the rooms were spotless. We had a lovely chilled evening the night before the wedding sat in the bar with a few drinks and snacks. The hotel kindly reserved parking for our wedding car the next morning as parking spaces are very limited. If you like plane spotting you will get a very good view of the Manchester arrivals too as they fly straight over the hotel. The highlight of my stay really was the staff. Michelle made sure that everything was handed over to the night shift to allow my hair/makeup artist into the rooms in the early morning. She even came up to the room the morning of the wedding to ask if we needed any assistance with anything. She really was a pleasure and is a credit to the hotel. I really couldn't complain about anything during our stay, it was perfect from start to finish, thank you to the staff for making our stay truly special.
I feel it’s only right to give a shoutout to the staff after my stay here. They go above and beyond and nothing was ever too much trouble. I had to grab some names from staff in the morning. I believe it was Rosie on the bar - she was great and very kind. Hamera is a star! Helped us in every department. The blonde lady on breakfast was also so warm and welcoming! Good job. We will be back for sure.
Room not serviced and after a day out to arrive back at 10pm with no water, wet towels and bed unmade - very disappointing.
see above
The property was stunning, the room was immaculate and very well equip. Bed was extremely comfy. The radio been on in the room when I arrived was a really nice Touch too
Absolutely nothing!
We recently stayed at Oddfellows on the Park and, unfortunately, it fell well short of the five-star standard it claims to offer. I'd rate it closer to a 3-star experience. The biggest issue was the lack of experienced management. After around 3pm, all of the managers seemed to disappear, leaving what felt like very young and inexperienced staff to run the hotel. While they were polite and doing their best, they clearly didn't have the support or authority needed to deal with issues effectively. The air conditioning wasn't working, which made our stay quite uncomfortable, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was disappointing. There were several areas that looked neglected and certainly not what you'd expect from a luxury hotel. The one real highlight was the food, which was excellent. The quality of the meals was genuinely impressive and was easily the best part of our stay. Overall, there is potential here, but until the hotel improves its management presence, maintenance, and housekeeping standards, it's difficult to justify its five-star rating.
Nice setting and quiet
Air conditioning not functioning
The staff were friendly and helpful
The rooms were stifling hot and the aircon completely ineffectual
Property was clean, staff were friendly
The air con didn’t seem to be working, room was absolutely boiling and struggled to sleep
Exceptional attention to with the interior design and the upkeepi g. Housekeeping was spectacular and the fittings even such as the blinds were high quality made.
If i had to pick any improvement it would be that the bed wasn’t too comfortable, but i am really am nit picking s as it was lovely! Room 11.
Excellent
The property was well maintained creating a comfy stay
every thing was just rigth
been old the stairs
Great for our location needs. Fabulous building and surroundings.
Visit marred by Aircon failure. They offered an option to cancel, but it was hard to get anywhere else. No price reduction was offered. Very limited car parking on site, had to use a municipal park nearby - reasonable cost though.
Location was super, easily accessible from Manchester. Beautiful old building with quirky decor. Fab GF dining options. Very friendly staff. Will def return.
We liked the location and style of the property. The staff were all friendly.
I did not like the fact that the shower drain in the Tower Suite constantly backed up and would not drain which resulted in having to take start/stop showers to stop the bathroom flooding. Also there was thick dust on the ornate mirror in the bedroom and a bin that was not emptied.
Treated my friend for her birthday to afternoon tea. Wow the afternoon tea was delicious & the service so attentive. Ambience was spot on. I would like to give a shout out to Rose, Hamera, Amanda & Ruby, their customer service skills were outstanding & made us feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend visiting Oddfellows in Cheadle.
Location and room layout
Room wasn’t cleaned properly, lots of dust Windows could not be open to air room and AC didn’t work so could not open windows to cool room, door handle lose on bathroom and toilet door not shutting properly
Beautiful, well maintained property
It was unbelievably hot in the room as the air con wasn’t working
Fantastic quirky vibe, beautiful building and such friendly staff. Food was delicious, I had the lamb rump which I thoroughly recommend. Will definitely stay again
Nothing! It was 10/10
The staff, receptiion
The large griup of people on terrace when wearrived, spolit the ambience and felt brand damagung to hotel star ratung. As loud drunk sounding
A wonderful location, with great staff and delicious food. We had afternoon tea with delicious cakes and sandwiches, and the cooked breakfast was fantastic. All served by friendly and helpful staff.
As with old buildings the upper floor rooms were quite warm and the air con struggled to make a difference, but this didn’t negate the rest of our experience.
Needs upgrading…
Tiredness
I have visited Oddfellows on the Park several times over the years for afternoon tea and special occasions, which makes it even more disappointing to be writing my first ever negative Google review. We booked a Sparkling Afternoon Tea to celebrate an upcoming wedding. This was mentioned when we made the booking, so we were really looking forward to a special experience. Unfortunately, the service fell well below expectations from the moment we were seated. Despite presenting our voucher and explaining several times that we had booked the Sparkling Afternoon Tea, our server still seemed unsure what we had ordered. We were served our drinks and afternoon tea, but the food was simply placed on the table without any explanation of what had been served. When we asked what everything was, the waitress admitted she didn’t know. She went away to ask but still couldn’t identify the sandwiches or cakes correctly. We asked another member of staff who was equally unsure, even incorrectly identifying the lemon posset as the clotted cream and jam. In the end, we had no idea what many of the items were as we ate them. Every afternoon tea I’ve ever experienced, including previous visits to Oddfellows, has included someone talking guests through what they’re being served. It’s part of the experience. Despite ordering a Sparkling Afternoon Tea, we also had to remind staff (3 times) that Prosecco was included before it was eventually brought to us. Service throughout was lacking. Staff spent long periods chatting together rather than checking on guests. We couldn’t get anyone’s attention to ask for clean plates before moving on to the cakes, so we eventually helped ourselves to plates from an empty table. It wasn’t until we had completely finished eating that anyone asked how everything was or whether we’d like any more drinks. Before leaving, we stopped at reception to provide constructive feedback. Rather than feeling listened to, the response focused on explaining that the serving staff were new and there had been a high turnover. While I appreciate recruitment and training challenges exist, that shouldn’t impact the experience paying guests receive. I would have expected someone to apologise, take ownership of the feedback, or ask a manager to come and speak with us. Instead, I was simply told the comments would be passed on. This visit was particularly disappointing because Oddfellows has always been somewhere I’ve enjoyed visiting for special occasions over the years. Sadly, based on this experience, I won’t be returning. I genuinely hope management takes this feedback on board, improves staff training and customer service, and ensures future guests receive the standard of experience that Oddfellows was once known for. 26th June - SB
The room was comfortable and the bed and duvets were ali very comfortable.
The parking was a bit difficult. It was noisy. The Aircon stopped working on a very hot day. It was expensive for the facilities available.
Hottest room and most expensive in the hotel. No fans. no cold water to drink. one of the worst nights of my life!
Great hotel. Really friendly staff. Perfect breakfast made to order.
No gym.
We liked the room which was most comfortable and very nice but could not turn the air conditioning off at night, so had a very disturbed night.
Dinner was not great. When we walked in no one gave us a wine list to have a drink and I had to get up and go and ask the young man at the desk for one. I gather some of the staff were new, but you really do need to give them some basic training. We unfortunately had to complain about the beef dish which was quite chewy. The waitress was great and immediately said they would not charge us for it, which was exactly the right attitude. The wine 528 Terranoble Pinot Noir £41 a bottle was like a £10 bottle. Very vinegary. Why did'nt we complain? We were with a friend who had flown over from Amsterdam, who we had not seen for a year, and did not want to spend the evening complaining. It can be very off putting to be having a moan all the time. When I went to pay they charged me for 2 botttles!!! Luckly I checked the bill and off course they removed one bottle. The waitress was lovely. Have to say the vegetables were really good.
Lovely room and ambience, great friendly attentive staff (Lisa and Harry), great choice, delicious quality cooked full English breakfast. Also loved our room, great decor and facilities.
Nothing
Staff were superb, friendly, helpful and very patient with my elderly uncle when he joined us for a meal! The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable.
Not overly keen on the toilet door being more akin to a swimming pool changing cubicle door!
Location, actual building and grounds
Ideal location for airport. Good room upgrade, friendly & helpful staff. As flying early a.m. did not want full meal so kitchen staff able to provide a snack.
Parking difficulties due to wedding, but staff able to provide short-term solution.
The drive into the hotel was lovely, and the park itself was beautiful. Arrival was smooth, and I was able to park directly outside the hotel, which was extremely convenient. The reception was welcoming and efficient, and I really liked the room. It was quirky, full of character and entirely in keeping with the architecture and style of the hotel. The staff were excellent throughout, friendly, helpful and welcoming.
A little quiet in the evening. So I ate off-site - great recommendation by the staff. If you don't like the sound of planes dont stay here - close to the airport and on flight path
Property was lovely, rooms good size, comfortable, well decorated and clean.
Downside was the aeroplanes which were constant and loud when coming into land at Manchester airport. Hadn't realised how close the hotel was to airport and on direct landing route.
Amazing place, staff were excellent.
Nothing everything was exceptional
Lovely location, comfortable bed, great shower, staff in dining room, front of desk and in the bar were friendly and helpful.
Whilst bed linen, towels and general cleanliness was good, there was a lot of dust on furniture, bathroom mirror. Tops of most of furniture was glass and shows dust more easily but there was a lot which was disappointing.
Great location, rooms were decent size and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great!
Some of the room could do with a proper clean - window frames had mould around them. Won’t take much to bring the room up to an even higher standard.
The shower and bathroom was lovely. Liked the fact there was a dab radio in room too. Nice setting and lovely building.
Parking is the only issue there if there was an event it would be a struggle.
It was lovely, the room was really nice
No air con was a bit of a pain as even though it was quite mild outside, it was still quite warm in the room even with a fan. I really enjoy air con when in a hotel, it was a shame it wasn’t working
Oddfellows on the Park proved themselves deserving of the great reviews that we based our own decision on, as our venue of choice for Dad’s 90th birthday celebration. Not only does it have a relaxed yet smart ambience, but the setting is also restful with windows from all the event spaces (Parlour One & Bar for our own event) as well as the restaurant looking out onto beautifully kept parkland. It was clear from the start how hard every member of the team works here and the great planning, friendly communication and expert advice came together to ensure we were able to give Dad the very special birthday he deserved. Nothing was too much trouble throughout the process from planning, guiding us re options/suppliers and helping with wine choices through to managing things on the day - all was handled in a confident, friendly, helpful and professional manner. The food and wine were excellent and the chefs very flexible in agreeing a pre-order menu with us that worked around our various dietary restrictions. We were all so well looked after and most importantly, Dad enjoyed the day immensely. We all have wonderful memories and that is priceless so we wouldn't hesitate in recommending Oddfellows Cheadle for a celebration. You will be in capable hands! We wish all the team every continued success and send a big thank you to Hannah, Jasmine and all the team! JB
The staff were excellent, lovely warm and attentive. The food was very good, as I am a coeliac they were helpful and understood. The setting was lovely. The beds were clean and very comfy.
Unfortunately the room was not as clean as I would expect. There was black mold around the windows, and the funiture was dusty, and the chairs and wardrobe. I wounder when it last had a deep clean. The towels were pristine. The cleaners were really nice ,I simply feel they do not have enough cleaning staff and everything is a little tired and neglected. This is entirely a management/Owner responsibility, as the staff were delightful and always went the extra mile for us. A deep clean on a regular basis would help and attention to detail, like dirty walls and repairs done on a rolling basis. The potential is massive but what could be outstanding is getting shabby. Big shout out to the chef and his team, absolutely excellent.
Very friendly staff, comfortable bed and good shower
Limited parking at the property, had to use a local public car park which perhaps was not so secure
Lovely grounds and park near by for kids. The staff were really nice.
The grounds of Bruntwood Park are genuinely lovely, and sitting in the gardens for lunch after a long-haul flight with two young children was a pleasant way to decompress, however the food took a long time to arrive and was average for the price. The experience surrounding our arrival left a lot to be desired. I had contacted the hotel no fewer than three times in advance to request a midday check-in, explaining that I was travelling alone with a 3 and 8 year old after an overnight international flight with 59kg of luggage. When I arrived at midday and asked to access my room at 1:45pm, the manager made something of a theatrical performance of mobilising housekeeping so I could check in at 2pm for a £15 charge. I do not consider 2pm an early check-in by any reasonable measure — standard check-out is 11am, meaning the room had been free for nearly three hours(if It had even been booked the night prior lol) this charge made me feel undervalued as a guest. I planned to have dinner in the venue with more family but this charge rubbed me the wrong way and we booked elsewhere. To make matters worse, I was assigned a room on the top floor with no lift in the building — seven flights of stairs, with two small children and a mountain of luggage. The staff were asked to help and I felt it was dangerous, I was concerned. Ground floor and level 1 has rooms. I was never asked whether stairs were an issue, and no alternative was offered. This is both a guest comfort issue and, I would suggest, a health and safety concern for staff assisting with bags. The room itself was smaller than the listing suggested, and the telephone had clearly not been cleaned in some time — visible dust throughout. I contacted the hotel directly before posting this review to give them the opportunity to respond. They did not reply.
This was a last minute booking as we thought we would start our holiday early by booking a hotel near the airport! This did not disappoint! The location was great, 20 mins from teh airport. Hotel set in lovely grounds and the facilities we great the resturant was exceptional, the bed and breakfast and evening meal is what we opted for. The food was outstanding and something you would associate with a high end place to dine! All teh staff were very helpful and super polite and couldnt do enough to help The hotel sits right in inbound flight path to Manchester so if you like seeing planes up close then its an added bonus. Whilst you may think this would be loud at night then i can assure you with the windows closed you couldnt hear a thing!
Nothing as it was that good we have booked to stay again
Reception staff very helpful and friendly but were let down by various problems with the room, keys, and service.
Breakfast was very poor, a badly organised buffet with small tables around the room rather than all in one place. Poor cereal selection and poor selection of pastries/bread, no croissants. I requested sourdough toast, one piece was delivered to me on a plate, no butter left in bowls by bread. Hot food orders slow and delivered wrongly with poached eggs on white rolls instead of muffins as ordered, (when informed the staff member offered to scrape the eggs onto a muffin!! we obviously declined that offer in favour of replacement order). NO fresh fruit, (told there wasn't any!) despite being on the menu. Poor service, grandson had to ask for ketchup to accompany dish at least four times before it was bought. Coffee not great and not hot. My yoghurt/granola dish came late, after my toast. In all a staff that were poorly trained, poor food and lacked any kind of professional service. Very disappointing. Dinner previous night also disappointing, service poor, of two fish options on menu, only one was available. No bread offered, and food took a long time, though, when it eventually came, it was good.
The welcome from reception was lovely & welcoming also the bar staff, the staff seemed to be so happy to be there and greet us. The room was also lovely and bathroom very modern. It felt like a very peaceful place to have a nights stay before our holidays.

Funky artwork Parking right outside (thought this is quite limited) Good breakfast but the items you could help yourself to needed replenishing more often
Room was "odd" We stayed in the tower suite - we entered the room and walked up three steps to be faced with the back of a tv. The bed was behind the tv and this layout made the downstairs room feel really cramped and small. I asked for an extra bed for my child which was placed upstairs in the living area. Bedside the bed was a huge chandelier lying on the floor. My child was freaked out by this and didn't want to sleep there. It made the room feel like a store cupboard. I asked reception what this was about and they told me it was art and a functioning light! At breakfast time I asked where the dining room was and the person on reception pointed ahead and said through there. We actually needed to turn left at the end of the corridor but the kitchen door was propped open and we ended up walking into the kitchen by mistake.
Beautiful building. Interesting and funky decor. Good facilities in room. Great shower. Loads of light from window. Little DAB radio. Restaurant was very nice, same for breakfast. Lovely outside patio space. Great stay.
The only thing that was a little annoying which is absolutely not the hotels fault is it is on the flight path so you struggle to talk when sat outside with it being under Manchester Airport flight path and when you have the window open in your room. But the hotel can't help that.
We had a lovely stay at the Oddfellows on the Park. The hotel was a welcome change from the usual airport chains, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was very welcome during the heat wave. The staff were all very courteous and efficient. A special shout out to Jazz who helped us when we had an excellent Sunday dinner in the restaurant. I would definitely recommend staying there, particularly if you are looking a stay near the airport.
We recently stayed at Oddfellows On The Park in Cheadle and had an exceptional experience. The hotel is fabulous, and the staff were outstanding — warm, attentive, and consistently going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The food was superb, and our room was immaculate, stylish, and extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. A special thank you to Leanne and Michelle for their exceptional care and attention throughout our stay.
There is nothing to dislike.

We know the building well as my husband used to work there. It's fascinating to see what they have done with all the rooms. The bedrooms are luxurious and the bed comfortable with great linen. Our room was very spacious.
We had room 11 on the ground floor (although I had specifically requested a room on the first floor). The room is disabled accessible. I can't comment on how successful that is if you need such a room but the shower leaked water everywhere. We were surprised that the hotel car park was full with lunch guests when we arrived.
We had a great time, such a luxurious experience! We were a late check in after a long day in Manchester and Michelle on the front desk was the perfect welcome. She was very friendly and professional and made an exhausted part of the day a breeze. The room itself was very nice as well as clean, with a very comfortable shower. We also enjoyed a lovely walk around the grounds the following morning. Would definitely go back again!
Great meal, great service, great atmosphere
Lovely location, and very friendly and helpful staff
This was perhaps the worst cream tea I've ever had, and I've had a few. Can't fault the staff, they were lovely, friendly and helpful. The venue is beautiful and the dining area a lovely space with lovely views. But the food? When you go to venue like this you expect something a bit special. What you don't expect are slices of cheap white bread with a minimal filling and nothing like the description on the menu and photos on the website. There was a bagel cut in half, that was so rock hard and cold I couldn't eat it. My husband forced it down because he hates waste. The cakes were the biggest disappointment....not as advertised amd nothing like the photos, and more like a selection from Asda bought in at the last minute. The Portuguese tarts had tough soggy pastry so we know they weren't fresh. The mini red velvet cake might have been a Mr Kipling mass produced thing that tasted of nothing but sugar. There were a couple of chocolate triangles with bits of crunchy, another supermarket cheap delight! Two very small coffee cakes which were OK. The scones were fresh and light with a good portion of clotted cream and jam but by the time we got to these our appetites were overloaded by the sugary nasty cheap cakes, so I left most of mine. If you're going to offer a cream tea, do it properly. Source your local artisan bakers and use their patisserie, not something picked up at the supermarket. Make sure all the food is fresh. Be creative with your sandwich fillings, and make sure the bread is good quality not some gooey cheap rubbish. And ditch the bagels. They were vile. Also, when you serve a cream tea with china cups and saucers (which by the way wa lovely) try to pair up with a nice china teapot not the stainless steel one that looks like it's been borrowed from the local greasy spoon. Creating an impression on your customers is going the extra step, the little things that make it special. Sourcing local patisserie suppliers etc. Is that so hard? And honestly, if Oddfellows try to say these were sourced from local bakeries, I'm afraid they need to change their suppliers. It was our first time here. We won't be visiting again. The only reason I gave it two stars is the staff were lovely.
