Grace Inn Munnar Homestay

The property was in an excellent location with great views. Very clean and spacious room with a large bathroom. We loved both breakfast and dinner at the homestay, they had great variety for each meal. Lovely family

Nothing—everything was great

Such a wonderful homestay experience! If you’re looking for a chill and peaceful time while in Munnar, this would be the pick for you. If you’re looking to party at the homestay, this wouldn’t be it. Vinu and the family is so genuinely caring and wants to accommodate your every need. They know Munnar and can recommend things to do and tours to take with 0 pressure. We highly recommend the hikes and Tuk tuk tours with Vijay! Their dogs, Ginger and Danger, are the cutest. They will sit down with you and let you pet them all day if you want. 😂 The bed is comfortable, the room spacious, the bathroom is very nice to Indian standards (with a divided shower)! And the balcony is huge with an amazing view! We chose to eat breakfast and dinner there everyday. We’ve been traveling through India for over a month now and legitimately had some of our favorite food there. Very unexpected! They were also accommodating with food preferences, so don’t be shy to tell them!

No A/C in the bedroom, but there is a fan! Ended up not being a big deal because Munnar is so much cooler than the rest of Kerala anyway.

Famille adorable.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in Munnar!

The host Vinu was very helpful during our stay. Even if the weather did not play along we had a wonderful time. Especially his recommendations for local guides (ask for Vijai!) were perfect.

The homestay is situated a little far off from Munnar. If you want to travel to northern points of interest you have to ride at least 20 minutes to the town with Tuk Tuk / Taxi every time.

Camera fantastica e casa pulitissima. Il cibo preparato da loro è meraviglioso.

Un po’ insistenti per i tour.

We loved Vinu’s friendliness and help, the great location (bus to Munnar Town right next to the homestay), the coziness of the room, the delicious food and the trips arranged by Vinu with Vijay (trekking, visit of tea fields and tea factory…)

Nothing!

A text reviewing of Vinu’s place. Change of address anything you’d like: Vinu and his wife (name?) know to create a true authentic homestay experience. With delicious home cooked meals, also adapting to guests preferences, and expert knowledge about the area they both assured we had a pleasant stay with them in their home. We also appreciated that Vinu made all arrangements, for agreeable costs, for the activities and transportation we needed. What’s also to consider is that shops are about a 10 minute walk away down a steep road. It’s generally quiet and peaceful, however music can be heard from nearby resorts. Fortunately before 10 pm everything becomes quiet again, apart from the wild life of course. In total there are 3 room for visitors and there is a strict no alcohol/party policy. So for a real and honest homestay experience, we would definitely recommend Grace Inn.

While the rooms and location are great for a stay in Munnar, the best part about this homestay is the host. Vinu was extremely helpful with tips not just about Munnar but also for the rest of our trip. His family hosted us with much warmth and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed sharing stories over the tasty meals cooked by Vinu's wife. The pets add another layer of homely feeling here. Definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Munnar!

Vinu and his family were the perfect hosts! Really amazing people who went beyond and above to give us a good experience. The room and food is fine. However, it is the tours that Vinu can arrange for you that really is the reason you should book this homestay. The first day Vinu booked us with the sweetest tuktuk driver to go sightseeing, whihc really was a calm and interesting day. The next day was even better, as Vinu had set us up with the hiking guide Vijay who showed us his own trail to Munnar top station. We did not meet a single group on our way up to Munnar top and I am sure you cannot get this amazing trek with additional highlights without having Vijay showing you to the top.

Nothing.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful and helped us organise some great trips out- seeing the elephants was amazing and the highlight of our holiday. The home cooked food was delicious and we enjoyed our stay very much.

We had a great stay with Vinu and Shabana at Grace Inn Homestay. They made us very welcome and comfortable, and gave us good advice about activities and transport, and were very kind an helpful. The room was very comfortable, and there was a nice hot water shower in the en-suite bathroom. We had our own small balcony where we could hear birdsong, and the top two terraces had amazing views. It is an easy walk to the bus stop to get the local bus into Munnar, and you can see beautiful tea plantations and lovely views on the way! Thank you Vinu and Shabana.

Great home food Location connected by bus to Munnar center Good suggestions for what to do - Vinu organized a great hike for us and taxis. Wonderful views from the house, bedroom, and just next door

I had a great stay at Grace Inn! Vinu, the property owner, was really nice and helped organize tours and drivers from the airport and to different spots in Munnar. Communication was smooth and fast via WhatsApp. Excellent Indian breakfast & dinner provided, all home-cooked and authentic. The rooms are clean, quiet, and provide amazing views of Munnar hills from the windows. A terrace is available for everyone where you can just chill and watch the sunset. For those who like exploring by foot - there's a side road just 5 minutes walking from the property where you can walk near the tea plantation and it leads to one of the best viewpoints in the area - highly recommended!

Everything was great.

Amazing location, right at the foothills of the tea plantations. Vinu was so helpful, he booked us the most amazing trek with Vijay - 5 hours in the tea plantations and mountains and helped with taxi and train bookings too. The trek was the best thing we did all holiday. His wife made delicious home cooked food - lots of veggie curries and coconut pancakes for breakfast. Balcony with a great view to watch the sunset.

Nothing!

We had an amazing stay with Vinu and is family. Beautiful location near a tea estate. Views are spectacular especially from the roof. Nice to watch the sunset over the mountains. Room was clean and comfortable and good to have a balcony to sit out. Bed was very comfortable. The food was amazing. We ate there for breakfast and dinner each day. Vinu organised a sightseeing trip and a hike. The hike was excellent. Our guide Vijay was first class. We climbed up through hillsides, forests and tea estates. We were even lucky enough to see an elephant.

Locality of the home is Mesmerizing, evening snacks in balcony with the beautiful view in front of us made our day relaxing. We felt blessed as the host is also a pet lover, and we went with our pet dog...

We had a wonderful stay with Vinu, Shabana and their super cute son Maverick. It was really the perfect Homestay and we felt lucky to have found it. Our room had a balcony with a gorgeous view, the beds were super comfy and the food was delicious. Vinu was also really helpful advising us on trekking, guides and what to see in the local area. And we had a lovely Christmas Eve with a traditional cake! We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area again

Amazing view and brilliant location

We loved our stay at Grace Inn. Vinu and his family welcomed us into his home, helped us to organise tuktuk and trekking tours, cooked for us, and even drove us into town so that we could get a massage. The room was clean and tidy, with towels, toothpaste and body lotion etc provided which was a nice extra touch. Access onto the balcony meant we enjoyed a sunset on our final night!!! Of course the highlight would be hanging out with little Maverick and having dinners with the other guests. Thanks Vinu and family, we will definitely recommend to family and friends and hopefully we see you again sometime 👍

Nothing!

Very nice authentic homestay. The hosts are very welcoming and will try to accomodate every wish. We got help with arranging tours and hikes. Also lovely homemade food for breakfast and diner. Would definitely recommend!

Cozy homestay in Munnar with a super sweet and welcoming family with an adorable little kid. The homecooked food was incredible and just what was needed after a day long hike. The views are incredible and a special treat. A true gem!

Lovely clean room, extremely friendly and helpful family willing to answer questions and cater for needs. Room exceptionally clean, with amazing balcony terrace and view of the misty valley below. Delicious home-cooked meals. A special place.

I had a great experience. Host Mr vinu is a nice gentle man, who is always ready to help and suggest whatever you need. That makes the homestay an actual homestay. Room is clean and tidy with a good view. Its a homestay when we go, and family when we come back from that place. Mr Vinu was kind enough to help us get an electrician and was there to assist us through the entire process of getting the repair done. They have adorable dogs( Nofy, ginger, danger) which i miss after coming back

The views are great & the food delicious.

Room was great and balcony had fantastic views of Munnar. Food was fantastic and Vinu was able to recommend us tours to do around Munnar. Fantastic experience would recommend.

The host family are very lovely and will go out of their way to answer questions, arrange activities and make your stay comfortable and memorable. The view from the property is fantastic and everything was tidy and spotlessly clean.

A very clean and well-kept homestay. In a quiet and secluded tea field location but close to Munnar town. Great mountain views from the balcony. Excellent internet connection. A very welcoming host family.

Breakfast could be included in the price of the say. Some fruit with breakfast and dinner would be nice.

Vinu and his wife were very welcoming and helpful.

It would be nice to have independent access to the 2nd floor balcony - the view from there is very scenic.

Great view (sunset!) with huge balcony on the second floor, clean property, lovely hosts and beautiful dogs. Appreciated Vinu’s help in arranging a day tour despite being sleep deprived with his baby! Also appreciated the vegetarian breakfasts and dinners his wife cooked. Thank you for the great experience!

The tea fields 200m close by is now gated and inaccessible by public but there are plenty of tea fields accessible further out that’s good for nice long or short walks!

The view is incredible! A simple, clean and comfortable room with an enormous terrace and view over the mou gains. Sunsets and sunrise were amazing. Tucked just off the main road amongst the tea it's incredibly peaceful, tranquil. Our hosts were so warm and kind, helped with transport and the food was so welcome! Home cooked delights. Our 6 year old son loved it too. We used munnar.in for our tours and I'd highly recommend Suresh. Thank you for a magical stay in the mountains

Nothing! It was just what we needed after a very long journey from the coast. If you are arriving in the afternoon and will be hungry let them know ahead of time as there is not much nearby for snacks. A tea hut though, is great

Vinu & his wife we‘re very attentive and eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. They gave us many recommodations and the offered food was delicious - they even considered our dietary regiments that we followed at that time. The room was clean and comfortable and the views from the terrace are spectacular .

If going to see the beauty of Munnar stay here. It was a perfect spot for the type of walking and trekking I like to do. The bus was literally up the road! I had my best breakfast for my 3 weeks trip in Kerala. Vinu, Shabana and their little Guy Maverick are a beautiful family. Listen to Vinu he gives very good advice. Yes the region is steep but take your time and enjoy the amazing scenery.

Nothing not to like.

Very friendly family make you feel at home. Comfortable bed and beautiful room with incredible view. Excellent food and helped us find excellent guides for touring and trekking.

Vinu made our stay in Munnar unforgetable. Very nice and kind family, he also always helped us where needed and gave us Best advices for our stay. The location was also perfect: just nearby tea fiels , the rooms have also an incredible view on the montains!! You feel like a family member there, and I hope to come again!

Nothing

My partner & I had the best stay here. Such a gorgeous location and amazing hosts (Vinu, his wife Shabana & their baby, maverick!) we had dinner here every night and the food was delicious! Vinu sorted out tours and transport & it was so lovely to get to know him and his family - stay here in Munnar , you won’t regret it. Best stay in India so far!!

We loved everything!

Stunning location overlooking the hills and surrounded by tea plantations. Grace Inn is around 20 minutes away from Munnar and it’s easy to get there by bus. Vinu and family were wonderful hosts and provided delicious breakfasts and dinner. They also arranged an excellent half-day trek up the hills with Manni, a local guide.

Everything was perfect Vinu and Shabana are perfect hosts! Vinu took care of arranging transfers and show tickets and took care of us like family, it was really nice staying there. The view from the room is amazing and next to the tea plantations, felt like a dream. The dogs are super friendly too, food very good as well. the room is big and the bathroom as well, very comfortable, big balcony. Will recommand to any of you who wants to be in a quiet area of Munnar, with a rickshaw/bus the center is not really far. Loved our stay once again thank you!

Not being able to stay longer!

Good location. Away from city, but still accessible with a bus. Surrounded by mountains and nearby tea plantations. Lovely and welcoming hosts, with friendly dogs and offer of delicious homemade meals. Also helped us with finding the location and booking trekking tours.

It was a great location with beautiful view on the mountains. I needed a peaceful oasis to relax in the green nature and that is exactly what I got ! The room is spacious, clean and very comfortable. I really loved the terrace with mountain view, perfect to read or do yoga. The hosts are really friendly and caring. We had great chat about Indian culture ! They kindly helped me to book my bus ticket to Mysuru and to organise a lovely hike with a great local guide. I also loved the food offered and had all my dinners there. I totally recommend it and would love to stay here again :)

very neat very good host excellent food host welcomes pets accompanying guests highly recommended for a peaceful stay especially for families though the property is about 9 kms. away from town and no shops nearby.

nothing

It’s very clean, very quiet, easy access to town and other things to do. The couple running the home stay is incredibly nice, helped me plan a tour and a trek, and the food they served for breakfast / dinner was great. 10/10.

nothing

Vinu was a very friendly host and helped us with our stay in Munnar - including a day in a tuk tuk with a lovely drive (his name was Anoop I think!) and the most wonderful trekking guide called Vijay ( you absolutely must do this trek with him up the Lakshmi hills). The location is about 30 mins drive/tuk tuk from the centre of Munnar however this isn't an issue - more a benefit. The room was very comfortable and we had our best sleep in India here.

Food was delicious however it would be nice to have some lighter/healthier food and breakfast options. Please note, this is a homestay so you are sharing the living space with Vinu and his wife so expect company in the communal areas/while you eat your meals.

We spent wonderful day at Grace Inn Homestay in Munnar. Vinu and his wife Shabana welcomed us immediately, and we were also greeted happily by their dogs. The house, the rooms, the living area exudes a wonderful harmony and you feel comfortable from the first second. Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, Shabana conjures up delicious Indian food. The view from the balcony is a dream, the tea plantations are only about a 5-minute walk away. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this homestay.

Neat and spacious room. Helpful hosts who could arrange everything we need. Cute loving pets who love cuddling. Delicious indian dishes served fresh at breakfast and dinner. All went well and we stayed for more days than planned.

Munnar is a hill station and bus drive from cochin was okay but for sightseeing it was tiering and felt motion sick. Vinu arranged tuk tuk with a friendly driver which was comfortable.

Stayed with Vinu and Shabaana for 4 nights and it was awesome. The hosts and the dogs made it feel like so homely. Excellent food had together with the fellow travellers. Excellent balcony view on a clear day. The tuk tuk tours arranged by Vinu was really helpful. The driver Anoop was friendly and helpful.

The road to the homestay is steep and is little difficult to find but Vinu will send the detailed direction in well advance with photos which is very helpful and easy to follow.

Room was neat and spacious. Host was friendly and helpful. Lovely pets made us relaxed and stress free. The nature was so beautiful and the big balcony works wonderfully in enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Host Vinu arranged everything we needed and we had long chats together. It was the best time we had in India. Our host tries everything he could to provide a peaceful stay.

There are parties in nearby properties and there were loud music playing at night. It's better to keep an earplug.

What a lovely place! Vinu and his family are the most welcoming and caring hosts ❤ very spacious room and big, comfy bed, and a lovely terrace to enjoy to view. Oh, and the food, simply delicious! I can't recommend this place enough

The owners were lovely and really helpful and the food was really nice. The location was great and they have some awesome really friendly dogs.

The only bad things is that we were constantly badgered (every time we saw the owners) to leave a review while we were still at the property rather than after our stay. It happened so often that it was getting a bit ridiculous. This continued by WhatsApp after we left.

Everything was great. The host Vinu helped me in everything I asked. He is ready to answer my questions any time. Organised trekking and tuk tuk for reasonable price. food is very delicious cooked with love and care the ask how about spice before cooking. The cuddling dogs are bonus if you like pets 100 % recommended i will come again for sure

Nothing

Friendly and attentive hosts. Vinet can arrange for transportation, guides and tours. Comfortable, clean rooms and delicious homemade food.

Steep roads around the property make it a bit difficult to walk around if you’re a bit older but that’s normal for the area since you’re in the mountains

Very friendly hosts. Willing to help book trekking and plan adventures around Munnar. Vinu met me at the bus stop nearby on arrival as it was dark. Beautiful view from the balcony in the morning. Breakfast and dinner both tasty.

Nothing

We had a great stay here in beautiful Munnar at Vinu's nice place. The room was clean and the bed was soft. It was nice to sit on the balcony terrace and look at the great scenery of Munnar. Vinu was active and organized a nice program for us according to our wishes. Vinu confirmed our wishes in advance and welcomed us and made sure we got there safely.

Everything was good

great location, very helpful hosts, amazing views and delicious food

I had a fantastic stay at Grace Inn. Vinu and his wife were extremely welcoming and do their utmost to make you feel at home and ensuring you have a great trip to Munnar. They also organized a fantastic trek with the guide, Vijay. The food was exceptional and the dogs were great company as well. Many thanks and highly recommended.

All was great

Vinu and Shabna are extremely kind and courteous hosts, they welcomed me very well and made me feel like at home. They explained me everything I needed to know to explore the neighborhood and Munnar itself, helped me booking my bus trip and much more. Amazing home made cooked food and very nice view to the mountains. That’s definitely the perfect place if you want to rest and relax. Thank you Vinu and Shabna for making my stay memorable. :)

We had a lovely stay at Grace Inn homestay, run by a very warm and hospitable couple. It’s in a beautiful spot outside of town with views across the valley when the clouds allow and a big balcony to enjoy them from. They have some very friendly and cuddly family dogs (but they can easily be kept separate if you don’t like dogs) who love a pet when you’re back from your day’s outings. They also offer super tasty home cooked meals for very reasonable prices which really supports the homestay feel vs a hostel or hotel. Highly recommend a stay here if you’re visiting Munnar!
