The staff very friendly and willing to help with sincerity. I enjoyed the food. And the yard refreshing.

The bed was a makeshift of two smaller beds of different textures and height. Visually not good, and laying across felt wrong, one side hard the other softer. The description said ''one large bed''... it wasn't.

The location is fine, away from the site, but close to amenities. Was able to move dates from 7th - 9th Aug to 21st - 23rd Aug. Mary, was a great help in assisting with the changes.

Unit 8, did not have a fridge. Mary offered to move us to Unit 4, the issue was a blocked toilet. Eventually decided to leave property completely.

The place needs some TLC..broken cupboard doors, missing keys for verandah doors , blankets with burns

The staff is so friendly and goes the extra mile I woke up to a washed car and came after attending an event to a warm room and sparkling water next to my bed, the gentleman who works there even made it a point that helps us secure and uber going to and from the event

We went to a wedding close by, good location for a nights stay. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were on hand and very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent.

I saw a rat in the main house on the first night. The staff told me " You're the only one that has seen this rat". I was scheduled to stay for 3 nights. I was not comfortable staying there so I left. I requested a refund. The owner has ignore this request

The one genuine highlight was the shuttle service — the driver was kind and professional.

Unfortunately, our stay did not meet basic expectations, especially given the price of the room. The room had a strong damp smell and was not properly cleaned - the toilet seat was even loose. We arrived to find our door had been left wide open and due to the farm area with snakes and spiders, this felt unsafe (we suspect it was done to try air out the damp smell). No water was provided in the room on arrival, which is a serious issue in Johannesburg where tap water is not safe to drink. It was only after we left for the evening that staff entered our room and left bottled water — without any prior communication. A hairdryer was listed as an amenity on Booking.com but was not in the room — we had to call the manager to request one. The rooms looked nothing like the photos advertised online. The cleanliness was bad enough that we didn't feel comfortable eating breakfast, as we were concerned about the hygiene of the kitchen too. For the price paid, this was simply not acceptable. In terms of staff, the manager was somewhat pleasant, but another staff member was noticeably rude and unhelpful. Sadly, we would not return or recommend this guest house.

The breakfast was top notch

Perhaps the furniture could be painted to make it look new. It must have been stunning when it was first decorated. But only inexpensive upgrades because value for money is more important. The key for the french door for the one room was unavailable and it would have been lovely to open up to the garden. Small thing that would been nice.

It was a bit heavily priced for the status of the room and area, not much to see in terms of entertainment. They need to improve on cleaning, the carpets were dirty. There was a smell of mildew in the room

The place is a hidden gem in an unexpected location. Property is picturesque and we had a lovely (and huge) room that was very clean and comfortable. There was no ask too big or small for Sonia and her entire team. In fact there was very little we even needed to ask. Their service was outstanding. Definitely going back there again!

The staff are the friendliest ever. Especially Brian and Sonia. They all serve with a smile. The grounds are beautiful. The place is quiet.

Breakfast is the same everyday. The place needs proper maintenance inside. Like curtain fixing. Dusting of the beams inside. The WiFi was not working all the time. Electricity is on and off. I'm not sure about the four star rating!!

Great location and lovely property. The staff are super friendly and very helpful, had a great experience for an overnight accommodation.

Some things in the room need a bit of repair and should be replaced such as the rubber seals on the shower door and the shower head. Maybe put in a mosquito net to assist with the bugs dropping from the ceiling. but did not ruin my stay.

I loved Trust he was the best host ever and there was another lady they really went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel at home.

The only thing was when I knelt down to plug in my phone charger next to the bed there were spider webs in my face lol, so a daily dust would be great. Then the other thing was there was not suitecase stand so my bag was on the floor I did not want to put it on that lovely chair and then the coffee station had spills on the wall behind it I only saw it because my bag was on the floor, the shower was not really hot water so I did not take a bath although I prepared bath salts in my travel bag.

Close to where we were attending an event. You’re given your own remote. They allowed us early check in. They washed our car. They are really amazing

I feel the place needs small renovations in the bathroom area, shower head is old and water pressure very bad plus the bath shower head also sloppy and old and needs replacement.

What stood out for me was the privacy, the warmth from the staff and the convenience of the shuttle when we were stranded with transport.

As we were sharing the bed, I would suggest that the people get asked of their preverences.

All I can is that the manager had no business booking us into a room that has HEATED FLOORS!!! OMG!!! Please believe me when I tell you that we slept the entire night on the floor! Checking out what was the most difficult thing to do. Absolutely loved it

The welcoming was exceptional, very homely. The staff was friendly, even went the extra mile and prepared our bed for us, the sprigs of lavender and little chocolate were extremely thoughtful, the aircon was kept at moderate temperature and we came back to a warm room. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely tasty. Overall, good overnight stay.

Brain was excellent

Monchique was easy to find; well sign posted. We arrived late afternoon but were warmly welcomed. The room was great, clean and lovely towels. Breakfast included was a huge bonus and delicious. All the staff were excellent! Getting to the wedding venue at a closeby estate was easy with the shuttle service! I highly recommend Monchique to any visitors wanting something wonderful and real value for money!

You need to replace aircons and fix plug sockets at the venue as well as replace some of your mosquito plugs. Some of the hairdryers over hear and smells like fire when you use it. Time for replacement.

There were spiders in the bathroom, the rooms were said to be soundproof and have pool views but we could hear the neighbours and they probably heard us as well. The view we had was of the driveway & back garden.
