Decor needs overhaul,

The house is very pretty and our room was quite comfortable. The center of Falmouth was about a 10 minute walk downhill going into town and uphill returning. Breakfast was very good.

The Tv was not working and no one checked it after we told someone. That’s not a huge deal since we were not really there to watch TV.

Good location, great view over the sea.

Towels weren’t changed even though I put them in the shower area.

Friendly staff, good little touches in the room. Dairy free catered for. Extremely clean.

Room needed a coat of paint.

Nice place with pleasant staff

Super nette Eigentümer vor Ort und wahnsinnig bemüht. Es war alles sehr sauber, nett hergerichtet und das Frühstück auch sehr gut. Die Lage ist ideal, da man in 5 Minuten am Strand ist, in 15 Minuten (zu Fuß!) beim Castle oder in der Innenstadt.

Einziger Kritikpunkt wäre das kleine Bad und keine Möglichkeit die nassen Handtücher aufzuhängen.

The location was good, only around a 10 minute walk into the centre of town, the check in was quick, and the staff were attentive. We left early (7am) when we checked out, and Ritu was kind enough to make us a continental breakfast for our trip, thank you so much!

Close to beach. The breakfast was very good.

It's a.minor issue, but the lights above the bed could have a dimmer switch. They were really bright.

I liked everything

Lovely location with a fantastic sea view. I'd recommend the higher rooms for the vista and balcony. Just a few minutes walk from the beach. Lovely staff and decent breakfast.

Its a lovely old building but needs a little TLC, however I've stayed here before and no doubt will again.

The full English Breakfast was excellent. All freshly cooked. The best I have had in many years. The view from our room out over the ocean was superb. I will recommend Poltair Guest House to family and friends who are planning to visit the area and suggest they plan their itinerary to include it. Our hostess and her niece were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home.

What was there not to like!

What a great hotel ! Beautiful exterior with the nice garden, stylish and clean inside. God the room with the ocean view, what a treat ! Huge room, good bathroom, perfect.

Lovely family run business. Parking on street, but that's no problem, and it's a nice quiet road. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the full English was fresh and tasty. This is our second time staying here, and would stay again if we came back to Falmouth.

Nice staff, convenient location

I’m sure the staff work very hard but it’s just really poorly maintained and grubby looking. There was a greasy stain on the headboard which had been obscured by a pillow, it was really off putting.

Charming property with incredible views from rooms at the top . I could see the whole bay and ships as they came and went . Staff are very helpful and look after you . Great location for both the town and Glynvase beach . A charming place with a warm personality. Far better than the hotel chains .

Staff were lovely, great location, good breakfast included. Bed was clean and comfortable.

Small room, not really anywhere to put a suitcase opened up. No desk/ vanity area. Kettle leaked everywhere. Shower was mouldy, broken, spraying in all directions, rusted pipe, incredibly noisy extractor fan.

Beautiful hotel with lovely gardens. Great location near the beach and walking distance to the town. Free parking outside. Lovely little touches like tea coffee water and biscuits. Fabulous breakfast and very friendly staff.

Room had everything I needed. Very kindly accommodated a slightly earlier breakfast to be able get the first St. Mawes ferry. Close to the coast path.

I liked the view and the koi. Plenty of space, Welcoming and relaxed. A very good breakfast. y=the wall painting in the dining room was really very good. Good composition and very observant of people.

I was in Puffin. I like the room v much but not going across the corridor to my toilet.

Abbiamo prenotato una camera, che si è rivelata diversa una volta arrivati. E questo non sarebbe stato un problema se non fosse per le condizioni al limite dell’accettabile del bagno e della doccia. L’odore di muffa persistente. Abbiamo fatto presente il problema la mattina seguente e per carità nulla da dire sulla manager che ha cercato di sistemare tutto e al più presto (per quanto fosse possibile) e offrirci una notte gratis. Da capire però come e se avremo il rimborso perché ad oggi non sappiamo nulla.

Great location. Plenty of safe off street parking. Sea views.about a 100 yard walk to Princess Pavilion gardens . Just before that was a short cut through to the sea front . A couple of minutes walk .

Our room was a little tired . However the Bed was very comfortable & excellent air conditioning

The ceiling fan fitting was a welcome addition. Big towels, nice shower and good water pressure. Nice breakfast and Lovely staff. Great to have a fridge too.

Das Haus ist über 100 Jahre alt und hat sehr viel Charme. Wir hatten das Zimmer ganz oben in der Mitte mit zwei kleinen Balkonen. Der Ausblick war fantastisch und das Zimmer recht groß. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Dass es keine Steckdose im Badezimmer für den Föhn gibt und dass es keinen Aufzug gibt. Das Koffer hochschleppen war doch recht mühsam.

Die ruhige Lage, Blick aufs Meer aus der zweiten Reihe, kostenloses Parken in der Nähe

Struttura internamente molto vecchia, che necessita di un importante rinnovamento, sia per gli arredi che per gli elettrodomestici. Anche la moquette andrebbe eliminata. Peccato perché il quartiere è meraviglioso e anche l'esterno si presenta bene.

The room, with its sea view and its double doors leading to two small balconies, was superb. I really enjoyed the evenings in this beautiful space, observing the birds and the weather with a 180-degree view of the horizon. Very close to Gylly Beach and its excellent seafood restaurant. The room was well appointed with plenty of space, and the breakfast was really good! Loved it here!

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist einmalig. Ich hätte ein Zimmer mit zwei Balkonen mit Meeresblick. Wunderschön! Das Frühstück war sehr gut und das Personal freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend! Ich komme wieder!!!!

The family and employees, that own and run it, the view in the top room was incredible, the ceiling fan in the heat, the extras in the room with the fridge, the proximity to town and the sea, the garden was beautiful.

It was a bit tired looking in parts, but it’s a very old building!

A bit of a way to walk into Falmouth

Wer den Charme und die Freundlichkeit eines sicherlich nicht mehr ganz taufrischen aber funktionablen B&B mag, Abends, auf einem der kleinen speziellen Balkone im oberen Stockwerk, die Aussicht auf das Meer genießen kann, das Ganze auch noch zu einem bezahlbaren Preis … der ist im Poltair gut aufgehoben. Wir werden versuchen, ein drittes Mal wiederzukommen!

Position of the property

A rather small room..had to leave my room to go to the toilet..which was just for my use along the corridor.

I had the top floor room with a balcony overlooking the sea. On my last morning they made a special early breakfast for me which was deeply appreciated.

Perfect location,

Poltair House is a very nice B&B very close to Gilly beach in Falmouth. It's small, which gives it a homely feel, and it is perfectly comfortable. The breakfast is good, and the staff are very nice. Ritu is a very attentive and friendly host.

The single room is too small, and the toilet, although private, is outside the room. But it is a great place if you're there to mostly spend the night whilst exploring Cornwall, so no complaints at all.

It is cheap and in a great location, right next to the beach.

It’s good value for money but don’t expect anything beyond this. It looks like it hasn’t been updated for a decades. Please give it a lock of paint and straighten the picture frames.

Good location and facilities represented ok value for money, based on a reduced rate paid, as booked many months ago. Bathroom in good condition clean and all facilities in working order. Bed comfortable.

Bedroom could do with a little bit of improvement as showing signs of wear & tear. E.g. stains on carpet. I am sure carpets had been cleaned and coffee stains can be difficult to remove.

Lovely guesthouse in a great location just down the street from the Princess Pavilion and 15 minutes walk into town. Tasty breakfast and exceptionally friendly hosts. Very good value for money.

My single room had an exterior toilet which wasn't ideal but absolutely not a deal breaker.

A bit pricey, shower was not very powerful.

Its location, the atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and choice, nice room and views, Excellent drinks facility in the room. A fridge stocked with water and fresh milk. Good WiFi. Nice garden. There was a balcony, but the wet and windy weather prevented us from making use of it. The extra blanket was necessary and was used, as it was colder than expected in June.

There was no none-slip mat in the bath and no grab handle at a suitable height. Without these the bath was slippery and dangerous. The front path and steps were slippery after rain, although there was a handrail. There was only on road parking, which was limited. Mostly this was not a problem, but we did have to park in a different road on one evening. The instant shower heaters were very noisy and could be heard in the neighbouring rooms , but they did the job.

Proper, seaside hotel. Refreshing not to be in Premier Inn!

Great breakfast options with plenty of food, nice large room, fridge in room stocked with cold water. Also tea & coffee, biscuits etc. provided. Good location for train station and walking to Gylly beach. About 15 mins from town. Large shower with plenty of hot water. Good value for money compared to other accommodation options.

Bathroom could have been slightly cleaner - ceilings look a little bit worse for wear. Didn't impact our stay though.

Schöne Lage, ruhig aber trotzdem zentral. Zu Fuß ist man in 12 Min am Hafen. Wir hatten sogar Meerblick vom Zimmer. Nettes Personal, hat sich um alles sofort gekümmert. Reichhaltiges Frühstück.

They went out of their way to cook us breakfast after all the other guests had been down.This was after we had been out on a Parkrun.

Soap dispenser didn’t work in the shower and pop up plug in the hand basin didn’t water.

Wonderful location, clean, great breakfast and lovely view.

Lovely welcoming B & B, superb location, we had the dleuxe room with the balcony, so lovey to see out. The breakfast was really good and welcome before our jourmey home.

Parking was tricky on the street so we parked in the Dell station carpark. We didn't have heavy bags as only staying one night.

Ich war sehr gespannt auf die Unterkunft aufgrund der durchwachsenen Bewertungen. Leider muss ich sagen, dass ich die Unterkunft eher durchschnittlich fand und die aktuelle Bewertung von 8,4 für mein empfinden zu hoch ist. Das Zimmer an sich war ok, aber warum der Balkon nicht mehr hergerichtet wird ist für mich unverständlich, da es bei schönem Wetter sonst sehr schön wäre darauf zu sitzen. Das Zimmer wurde bei 3 Übernachtungen nicht geputzt, keine Betten gemacht oder Gläser gewechselt. Das Frühstück war eher schlecht und der Kaffee ungenießbar. Man kann vorab aus verschiedenen Varianten wählen. Kontinentales Frühstück besteht allerdings aus Croissant mit Marmelade und es gibt keinen Wurst oder Käseaufschnitt oder Ähnliches.

Gefallen hat uns die Freundlichkeit des Personals und die Lage. Man ist sehr schnell an den Hafen und in die Innenstadt gelaufen.

Die guten Bewertungen sind für uns nicht nachvollziehbar. Es ist alles sehr abgewohnt und vor allem sehr hellhörig. Das Frühstück ist allenfalls durchschnittlich, der Kaffee nicht genießbar. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Falmouth würden wir definitiv eine andere Unterkunft buchen.

Smell in the hallway is very off-putting, like old grease. Place has not been updated or renovated for a long time. Carpet is stained, stains from previous water damage in bathroom and room. Just very dated.

Es gibt öffentliche Parkplätze direkt vor der Haustür. Unser Zimmer hatte einen Balkon und Blick auf das Meer. Beim Frühstück kann man auswählen, ob man Continental oder English Breakfast haben möchte. Das Bett war breit und bequem.

Die Treppen sind mit Gepäck etwas eng.

I found everything I expected here. I'm very glad I chose Poltair for my stay in Falmouth. The service is very friendly and professional. The food is delicious, and the room is comfortable and clean. It's very close to the beach, where you can also enjoy a good coffee and a meal. Shops are a short walk away, and the town center is also close by.

Beds uncomfortable, room slightly dusty.

Clean and comfortable bed. Spacious bedroom with good storage facilities for clothes and hiking gear. Free tea and coffee with biscuits. Nice to have a fridge in the room as well. The place has a retro feel to it and the front of the property is well presented. Lovely garden with veranda/patio area. Excellent location close to the seafront within walking distance of the main train station.

Some of the fixtures and furnishings could do with an upgrade/makeover in places. The shower room did not have a non slip bathmat in it. Also rusty screws poking out of the wall. Some of the decor looks tired and worn in places.
