Sehr schöne Unterkunft in Laufreichweite zum Zentrum mit einem herzlichen Empfang und eigentlich allem was man braucht um entspannte Stunden zu verleben. Klare Weiterempfehlung.

The guesthouse was very comfortable, the staff friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were plentiful and cooked well. There was a good variety at breakfast. Something for everyone.

Our room was comfortable but rather snug, especially when travelling with lots of luggage. Space for our cases was difficult.

Mont D'Or is an esceptional, charming and delightful guesthouse. The hosts Johannes & Carol were extremely welcoming and friendly who have created an idyllic environment which exudes calm and relaxtion. The guesthouse is ideally situated just off the main street of Franschhoek and from the back gate a 7 minute walk to the wine tram. All of the staff were very attentive. The garden and terrace are a wonderful oasis. the rooms are extremely charming with thoughtful touches. We were a party of 11, including 2 children occupying 5 rooms for 3 nights and all our individual needs were well catered for as was well evidenced by the delicious individually cooked hot breakfast which was served on the terrace. The children particularly enjoyed the swimming pool. Truly our stay more than met all our hopes and expectations and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay.

We only wish we could have stayed longer! If I wanted to be very critical, the only thing I would change would have been the location of the safe in the room my husband and I occupied as it was a bit awkward to access.

Great hosts who were very attentive and helped us settle in a give us recommendations. Lovely relaxed atmosphere around the pool and a great location, only a 2min walk from the main road of shops in Franschoek.

The bed was quite short length ways which is very unusual. It didn't really affect the stay, but might be worth noting for taller visitors.

Diese Unterkunft ist absolut empfehlenswert! Sie liegt mitten in Franschhoek. Restaurants, alle wesentlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten und insbesondere die Haltestelle des Franschhoek Wine Train sind bequem fußläufig zu erreichen. Es ist ein im kolonialen Stil gehaltenes Gebäudeensemble mit einem wunderschönen Innenhof sowie einem Pool. Der Service ist auf allen Ebenen exzellent. Das Personal zeichnet sich durch große Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft aus. Auch das Frühstück hat gemundet. Die schönsten Zimmer sind zum Innenhof gelegen.

The location, garden and staff.

Old fashioned property in need of refurbishment. Poor and uncomfortable furniture, old TV and water in bathroom took ages to heat up, wasting a very precious commodity.

We had an attic room up some steep stairs. We would not have chosen this: most of the rooms are on the ground floor facing onto the patio but we were not given a choice as the hotel was full. The room was spacious but initially unbearably hot. Even with the air conditioning on full it took a longtime to make it bearable.

Lovely stay- we had the family room with twin beds in loft area upstairs above the main bedroom so gave us a lot of space for the four of us. Ample breakfast selection. Great location only minutes from a huge range of shops, restaurants and bars.

Not really a criticism as we booked at short notice so not much availability so our room was at the front - so had to unlock front door to get into the main hotel. Not a major problem . Room was quite small and not much room to open and leave our cases . Limited hanging space in wardrobe . But the room was beautifully clean the bed was comfortable and linen was pristine and great quality. We would highly recommend the hotel and would love to stay again with a pool facing room at the rear in main party of the hotel!

Very good position. We got a room facing the street outside the hotel that was a bit disappointing. We should have stayed 2 nights but due to cancelled flights it was only on night and we more or less only slept at the hotel

Carol and Johanes were excellent hosts, friendly and always happy to help with any query. We had a lovely stay. Walking distance to all the bars, restaurants & shops on the high street. The pool area is a little haven to chill and relax. Breakfast had something for everyone - all the staff are friendly and happy. Will stay here again. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Great location tucked away behind the Main Street in the town !

Everything was great - couldn’t fault it

Breakfast was as big as you needed or wanted it to be, served on the lovely out on the patio, overlooking the delicious pool. The location was terrific for general walkabouts, food finding as well as a couple of wineries. Safe parking on the street was a bonus as well.

The constant locking of the front door on entering and exiting was boring, but I do understand that a Yale lock could be problematic however

The staff were lovely, it was super clean and the location was fantastic. Really can’t complain about any of it and the accommodation was just as advertised.

As a solo traveller I didn’t expect this many families with small children in a boutique place like this. Obviously, this is no criticism on the property and it’s not advertised as adults only but instead my assumptions were wrong. It was just a shame that using the pool for example was pretty much not possible because of the number if kids in it and the old building carried the voices of crying babies early in the morning.

The location is absolutely perfect, just 150 yards from the centre, yet so quiet and peaceful. It's really charming and the rooms are simple/rustic, but lovely. The pool is great and the staff were really helpful. We had the family room, which has a large double with stairs to a mezzanine level, which gave the kids their own space/privacy. Breakfast was served daily, with plenty of choice and a lovely setting, and there's an honesty bar if you fancy a drink when returning at night

Nothing really - if we were being really picky, the air conditioning wasn't as cool as we might have liked, but that was a very minor point and our room was large so probably took some cooling

The room needs a touch up though (especially the bathroom). Also the mattress needs replacing or at least be turned over regularly.

Delicious breakfast served by the loveliest ladies. Nothing too much trouble. Two of our party are gluten free and they were well catered for. Our second stay and hooefully not our last!

The host and all staff were great. Attentive when needed. The room was lovely and the garden area and pool also. Breakfast was excellent. The location could not be better, just one road back from the main street. A perfect weekend getaway.

It would have been nice for the room photo's on booking to match what we actually got. Our rooms were nice, but not as we kind of expected when we first booked. Overall, the stay made up for that and overall we were very happy.

Otroligt charmigt boende mitt i Franschhoek. Supertrevliga rum och otroligt vänlig personal. Jag glömde mina skor och de ringde mig direkt så jag kunde åka tillbaka och hämta dem.

Om jag ska nämna ngt så saknade jag att kunna handla ett glas vin eller annan dryck på kvällen men det fanns i och för sig en kyl på rummet.

Perfect location, in walking distance to the mai. Street with all restaurants, bars and shops. Beautiful spacious family room, lovely breakfast patio, nice pool and garden. Little tables with chairs in front of the rooms. Very nice, welcoming and helpful manager Johannes and friendly personnel. Delicious breakfast. Cozy and comfy beds. We will definitely come again!

Bonne situation géographique et jardin charmant

Vraiment trop cher pour le confort et le standing : nous avions loué 2 chambres (1 pour nous et 1 pour nos filles ados), les chambres qui nous ont été attribuées donnaient sur le hall d’entrée au RDCh avec le passage des hôtes et aucune insonorisation ! Idem le matin très tôt… chambres avec aucune vue! Niveau standing médiocre : frigo ne fonctionne pas et ne fait que geler, meuble SDB abîmé, tabouret SDN idem, frigo abîmée et rouillé, coulée humidité au plafond, aucune vue et simple vitrage, tapis abîmé, essuie usé et insinorisation totalement nulle! Nous louions 2 chambres et il aurait été agréable qu’au moins 1 des 2 chambres soit agréable (une des 3 dans l’annexe dans le jardin?), petit déjeuner au compté… des miettes de saumon… c’est peu généreux! Le deuxime matin il n’y avait même plus de croissant… nous n’avons vu la piscine que avec le robot! Il y a des caméras sur la terrasse et sur ka piscine!!!

Die Unterkunft und der Garten waren sehr schön. Die Unterkunft liegt fußläufig an der Weintram, was super war. Wir saßen abends noch auf der Terasse, was uns ebenfalls gut gefallen hat.

The location is the best, room and bathroom are super clear, and staff is extremely friendly and supportive.

Classic guest house located on the heart of Franschhoek, minutes walk from high street and wine tram. Very clean and super relaxed. Breakfast was nice with hot and cold options.

Die Lage ist wirklich super.

Das Zimmer war wirklich sehr, sehr klein. Man hatte nicht wirklich Möglichkeiten, seine Koffer gut abzulegen. Des Weiteren war das Zimmer sehr hellhörig, und es zog die ganze Zeit der Wind durch das Zimmer.

The staff was very helpfull

Prachtig verblijf met heel mooie binnentuin en zwembad. De locatie is ook ideaal, het centrum van Franschhoek! Er wordt buiten gegeten alleen kan dit wel wat fris zijn als het nog geen zomer is.

The property was very beautiful and so close to the Main Street. The staff were amazing too and the breakfast was very tasty. Each room had its own patio table and chairs to relax on an evening by the pool with a nice bottle of wine. We felt very safe around the property and Franschhoek as a whole.

Not enough wardrobe space in our room… didn’t put us off though and we would definately stay again!
