The view is remarkable.

The manager was rude, threatening and condescending. We were misled on an upgrade to the honeymoon room, which was not the one advertised on the website. Upon questioning this she threatened to downgrade us. We were not treated like guests of the establishment and advised that we would write this negative review, but the attitude was like she couldnt care less. The staff in general appeared to be on vacation, not conducting themselves in a professional manner, laughing and talking as if they were the real guests. The cooked fish smell couldn't be escaped all day, every day. The pillow case was stained for consecutive days - not changed. The beach was inaccessible to guests but this wasn't noted. Housecleaning entered without fair warning and startled us. Breakfast is limited and below average. Food containers were filled with hot steam and burnt my wife's arm and my hand - no warning signs. Would not recommend and would not spend my money there again.

The stairs to the beach were not working The staff (Restuarant and housekeeping) were rude. Restaurant staff sloppy and unprofessional. I ordered a cocktail drink and the waiter walked up and down for about an hour, said she was looking for a glass. Eventually, when the cocktail arrived, I was in my room already and it looked and tasted nothing like a cocktail. I asked for crushed ice and another one tried to extort money from me by selling the ice saying they charge R35 for a bucket of ice and to bring it to my room they charge R10 The photo attached was the cocktail that eventually landed on my room.

Newly renovated room on 9th floor with balcony looking out to sea and wonderful sound of waves. Spacious room, comfortable bed, desk and clean bathroom with shower and bath. Great overnight stay right on beach.

Unfortunately no access to beach at present after recent storms. Hoping for a resolution to this soon.

The Bathroom layout is not acceptable. WC squeezed in between a wall and the bath - why is there still baths in the bathrooms? please we are past this stage in design. The breakfast was very bad - no management to see that all the dishes are full and presentable. Only one book station - One lady must prepare all the orders. Breakfast selection on offer so poor. Then the sad story what they offer is not even available.

Definitely the location

Lovely hotel. The location. The staff. The cleaness. The nice beds. Big rooms.

Receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. The technical team assisted with getting my wifi connected. Everyone in die restaurant were very friendly. The team that cleaned up the flooded bathroom and lounge was friendly and efficient.

The shower trap was blocked - which resulted in a flooded bathroom and lounge. No DStv - thus no Supersport, therefore missed the Springbok game!

An absolute fantastic view. The room is spacious and the bathroom also has a great view. The balcony was a plus and provided a great place to see the sunrise and sunset. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

Location was/is stunning with amazing sea view. Room was so complementary considering NOT only the size but how everything is put together. Breakfast had just everything delicious!!!

Because the place was not very full - off season - one did not get the full buffet breakfast experience - very little options and bacon etc was dry and looks like they only put out the bare minimum.

I genuinely struggle to understand how this breakfast offering is considered acceptable for a hotel. As a returning guest, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. There is a complete absence of care, pride, and attention to detail. Most of the food looked as though it had been prepared purely to fill trays rather than to be enjoyed by paying guests. The environment itself was equally concerning. Flies around the food area, staff congregating and chatting over guests' meals, and an overall sense of disorder made the experience extremely unpleasant. Professionalism appeared to be completely absent. The quality of the breakfast was poor across the board. The only item worth eating was the bread and butter, which, ironically, wasn't even made in-house. Everything else was bland, uninspired and felt more like a school cafeteria than a hotel breakfast service. I see they are very defensive and do not accept any faults inbtheir previous responses. Which shows, no hope at all. The breakfast is disgusting and I'll be sure to video next time. Compare it to protea hotel breakfast and tell me....same level? Nope, just low grade food. Even for an American, this is disgusting.

Stayed 2 nights as part of a tour. The hotel is slightly out of town and without a car you really have to eat in the hotel as nothing much around it. Lovely big room with comfortable beds and an amazing sea view - however the lighting in the room is extremely poor. The restaurant is the part of the hotel which really lets it down - eating there the first night was long and drawn out - taking over an hour to get a pizza once we’d ordered, in a restaurant which was freezing cold. Apart from 1 staff member the others seemed more interested in chatting to each other than in doing any work. We called into the restaurant/bar for a drink on returning from a day out and when trying to pay we were asked if we were going to the beach bar, when we said no it then took around 15 minutes to find us some change. At 9.30 the same evening we called at the bar to get a drink to be told it was shut. At breakfast on the last day it is blatantly obvious that they can’t deal with groups arriving at the same time, part of the restaurant was cordoned off and there were not enough tables for our group to sit - this was not addressed by the staff. Very poor choice for breakfast (not upto the standard of the previous hotels we have stayed in in South Africa) It is a shame as the hotel has potential & fantastic sea views but is lacking in the basics - due to the location it really needs to do better with the food & drink

Fourth time we stayed Diaz Hotel. Location is the best.

We were two days without water, nobody told us, no sms, no call, nothing. We could not shower and missed an appointment. Maintenance was done on our floor, load 2-way radios, talking and noise. Why do you accommodate guest on a floor with maintenance? We were on holiday, we wanted to rest.

The breakfast is nothing short of lower grade dog food. I dont even understand how they run this place. The staff in the breakfast area are unhelpful, the food is disgusting and in my opinion, if you have a head chef...start looking for a new one. No chef should be happy to serve such disgraceful food. The booking says breakfast included but the only edible thing there is the bread and butter (not made in house)

The View

This is the 3rd time I stay at the hotel and the 3rd time they provided a double bed when I specifically booked 2 single beds and wasted my time in sending separate emails as well. Reception is absolutely useless. I reported the wifi that did not work no response at all. Breakfast is not the same as it use to be. Overall not the same experience as previous stays. One basically pay for the view, cause the standard of service and poor wifi does not value such a high rate.

As a regular guest, I am genuinely shocked at how badly the breakfast experience at this hotel has deteriorated. The food is nothing short of disgraceful. Everything feels mass-produced, generic, reheated, and carelessly thrown into trays with absolutely no pride, skill, or attention to detail. Calling it “breakfast included” is generous when the only edible option was bread and butter, and even that wasn’t made in-house. What makes it even worse is the complete lack of hygiene and professionalism in the breakfast area. Flies everywhere, staff leaning over guests’ food while chatting amongst themselves, drinking openly, and smelling strongly of cigarettes while handling service. It felt chaotic, dirty, and completely unmanaged. I am an Executive Hwad Chef and as someone from the hospitality industry, I can say with confidence that no competent head chef should be comfortable serving food of this standard. If there is a head chef overseeing this kitchen, management seriously needs to reconsider who they have leading it. The breakfast is nothing but low grade dog food. Bread and butter with coffee is the only decent thing there that's edible. The entire experience felt cheap, neglected, and embarrassingly below standard for any hotel that expects returning customers. I will not be returning, and I certainly would not recommend anyone waste money on the breakfast here. Find a head chef with flair, passion and a good name behind himself. Maybe your place can be the next up and coming breakfast spot?

Stayed at Diaz Hotel & Resort for one night. The room had a beautiful sea view and was lovely decorated, spotlessly clean, plus a fantastic modern bathroom with seperate shower facilities. It has a veranda where you can sit down for a night cap while watching the moonlit waves rolling in. Everything combined perfectly to make it such a relaxing overnight stay. Would happily recommend!

All was good and place was neat and tidy they kept my cycle as I asked them to do and breakfast and dinner was good The view was great from my balcony. Would return and stay there again.

Hmmmm let me think - will come back to you on that question cause cant think of anything bad to say.

This property needs a renovation and an upgrade.

The food at the restaurant offered great value. They have just renovated the hotel so the place looks nice and stylish. The beach bar was loads of fun and alot of effort goes into making the stay enjoyable. Views were exceptional from the balcony and we got to watch the most beautiful sunrise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Manager was visible on-site and addressing issues throughout the stay showing commitment to improve the facility.

Some form of polish is used on the floor in the bedroom which makes it immensely slippery. It smells strong which is uncomfortable. Bed needs to be replaced. I could feel the difference between the sides and middle of the bed. All windows need cleaning. Very dirty, even in the restaurant. Service is a little bit slow.

I loved the privacy of the rooms. Each room had an amazing view of the ocean. The breakfast spread was delicious, and hotel restaurant had delicious food whose portion size was good value for their money.

The bathroom had a foul smell, the ventilation was poor in the bathroom.

I just love this place. Whenever I am in Mosselbay, this is my go to place. I saw the sun rise from my bedroom absolutely priceless. That view...absolutely amazing. The pictures are exactly as advertise😊😊 The staff are absolutely friendly and I just love the breakfast😊😊

Very noisy as staff were working in the passage and having a loud chat that went on for two hours. Also had no WiFi and was not offered another room. I could not work and thus was very frustrating and a huge spoil to my holiday

The view view is fantastic, staff at reception and in the restaurant is very nice and helpful.

The Management is the worst part of the hotel. I'm still waiting for a response from them. We didn't have water for two days, no room cleaning or clean towels. Breakfast is as basic as a 3 star hotel.

Stayed with family 1 night only. Great location for beach access, but a little bit outside the old town, so need a car if want to explore further. Beach was clean and Life guards on duty. Hotel has amazing views, but our room (quadruple) was on the "left" wing (6th floor) and we could smell kitchen odours as the vents and braai extractors were underneath and wing was pushing them on our balcony. There is a swimming pool on site which looked inviting, but the code to gate didn't work. We weren't bothered by this as beach is next door. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Both were amazing, food tasted great and the service was fantastic. Breakfast has fantastic views over rising sun, with windows open. Also great selection of food. Beds comfy, aircon provided, bathroom clean, all great. It's on a pricer side but you pay for the views and location.

Loud music from beach bar/ pub till late at night

Easy to find and well situated on a beautiful beach with plenty of safe parking. The sea-facing rooms offer a great view of Mossel Bay. The sound of the waves at night was therapeutic. Our room was sufficiently spacious and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was superb with a wide offering whilst the staff in the dining room went out of their way to please. The informal beach bar was a great place to wind down after a day on the road.

Our room was slightly dated but not sufficiently so as to distract from the overall experience.

The view and location of this property is unbelievable. The rooms are well furnished and cleaned daily. Our room's bedding and towels were replaced daily.

Restaurant - service and food selection for breakfast shocking - actually non-existant. We attempted breakfast 1x in our 3 morning and actually rated as the worse restaurant experience ever experienced. i must add however that we ventured into this same restaurant that evening and told the head waitress who was serving us of our experience in the morning. The improvement was unbelievable in quality of food, service and value for money. The hotel is 4 star - rated. There is nowhere where one can sit to enjoy the stunning view, order a beverage and just relax. This is not possible. It's so needed and would add such value to the overall experience. We were forced to drive to the closed Vida e through traffic to meet that caffeine craving. Would have really appreciated an option onsite. The 1st day I tried to access the beach for a run, but gates were locked. There were no signs directing one to the access points. i ended up gaining access through the restaurant. One can only gain access to your floor via a lift. Stairs may only be used in emergency. One is forced to always use the lift. Would be a great idea to do a thorough clean of the skirting and floors of the lift. Cleaners cleaned the mirrors but not the floors. We experience flea bites on our 1st morning. We reported to management and they were excellent in their response. Not only was our room thoroughly cleaned but so was the entire floor. This hotel could be rated so much more just with attention to detail. The staff are so willing. they were never rude and always attempted to help and improve. They just need guidance.

Hotellet lå på stranden. I princippet er princippet god, men hotel bygningen skygger for både strand og pool om eftermiddagen.

Vores værelses nøgle/ dør virkede ikke. Personalet brugte 1 time på at få døren op. Vi blev ikke tilbudt et andet værelse eller kompensation. Hotellet været præg af at være slidt, vinduerne i restauranten bliver ikke pudset.

Room was great.

Room has no room service menu, room service told us to come and fetch one in the dinning room. Beds need new mattress, too hard and warped. The dinning room is totally unpleasant and very uncomfortable, not a nice experience! AIR-CON IS A MUST, and please change the elevator music, its awful.

View is great and beach is right outside. But really, that's it.

I arrived on a Friday night and after one hour, I did something I have never done in 25 years of travelling: I asked for a refund and a check out (they were reluctant so I stayed). There is a beach club that is part of the Hotel and management places the entertainment of three to four beach club guests who buy a couple drinks (it's really not busy) over the peace of all their Hotel guests. Loud music pumping until 1 am and there is NO WAY you can get away from it even with earplugs. Staff was understanding and even went over to the DJ booth to ask if they could lower the volume or take out the base a little at least, but to no avail. Don't stay here if you are looking for the sound of the ocean and a good nights rest. Rooms are simple, worn out and not worth the money. Balconies are good. Breakfast looks good at first glance but oh well. Restaurant (night) is okay.

Thought the room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, it felt like staying in a luxury prison. Metal railing on balcony made itself felt inside the room, lighting was cold, atmosphere cold.

The food could be much better, very average for the amount you are paying. Such a pity, the rest is all wonderful.
