Perfect verblijf met excellente service van manager Willem. Eten was erg lekker. Een verblijf was we iedereen aan kunnen raden. Prachtige omgeving voor een game drive. Grote kamer en badkamer en 2 terassen.

Wir waren in der Wintersaison dort und die einzigen Gäste. Wir wurden hervorragend versorgt und betreut. Beim Menü am Abend wurde auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen, Qualität war außergewöhnlich. Toller Blick auf die Berge und Tiere in der direkten Umgebung (Giraffen, Gnus)

Mooie suite, prachtige omgeving, heerlijk eten, veel dieren tijdens de game drive en ook prima mogelijk om zelf te hiken.

What a fantastic experience for myself and my wife. Game walks were wonderful. Food and service was exceptional. Willem, the General Manager went out of his way to make our stay the best ever. Even arranged for a special braai just for us. Will definitely go back there again.

Prachtige lodge met ruime kamers. Fijne gezamenlijke ruimtes met open haard. Leuk om ook lopend het park te verkennen met giraffes en allerlei klein wild. Eigenaar Willem was heel hulpvaardig.

Vanwege de winter was het behoorlijk koud in de kamers. Geen kachel of open haard, wel een elektrische deken. Dus vroeg onder de wol! Toegangsweg vereist wat stuurmanskunst, vooral als je op de terugweg de verkeerde afslag neemt en vastloopt in een droge rivierbedding met je huur- SUV…

We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay and will most certainly be back. Tsja, wat beviel niet? Een droomplek! Als gevolg van de storm was de wifi niet direct beschikbaar, was er alleen energie beschikbaar door de zonnepanelen/batterij en waren de grotten gesloten, maar de locatie maakte dat 'gemis' meer dan goed, door onder andere de vriendelijkheid van al het personeel, de schone kamer (met elektrische deken, wat erg fijn was vanwege de kou), de mooie tuin waar de dieren uit het gebied vrijelijk in rondlopen, het heerlijke eten (van ontbijt tot en met diner, fantastisch) en de geweldige game drive die we mochten doen. Het maken van een wandeling door het natuurgebied is ook echt een aanrader, zo mooi!

A little slice of paradise. Staff very friendly. Food was excellent. Rooms were spacious and bed super comfy. Views and game drives were food for the soul.

We stayed at the Swartberg Private Game Lodge with our little one (15-month old) for two nights, and we had a great time! The rooms are very spacious and spotless. They were able to accommodate our needs like a baby crib, vegetarian meals for us, and a bit of special meal for our little one during dinner. We absolutely loved our stay, the staff was very friendly, and all the meals delicious. We did a game ride which was practically a private one since we were the only ones.

Lovely and peaceful environment. The meals were exceptional.

No fridges in the room made it tricky to store food.

The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. It’s set in a beautiful location with manicured gardens. Our dinner and breakfast were delicious. The honesty bar is a nice touch.

Einfach wunderschön! Traumhaft gelegene, sehr geschmackvoll, modern und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtete Zimmer! Abends gibt es ein äusserst leckeres Menü, morgens ein sehr leckeres Frühstück. Giraffen, Kudus, usw, die ums Haus springen, eine unfassbare Ruhe und Weite - enttäuscht ist hier höchstens, wer ein allzeit verfügbares Highspeed-WLAN erwartet...

Ontzettend mooi gelegen, weg van alles. Prachtige kamer verdere alle faciliteiten en een “honesty bar” waar ze ontzettend veel hadden. Heerlijke maaltijden, een super aardige Willem(host) en een aanhankelijke huiskat. De game drive is rustgevend en interessant ook al zie je de big five niet.

Everything! The grounds were well manicured and lodge was beautifully decorated. My suite had every amenity. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast. Our host was extremely accommodating.

Initially I was attracted to the photographs and the beautiful setting and the positive reviews from people. Some comments did say it was a little out the way.

Nothing could have prepared me with my inadequate car for this journey on a dirt road where initially it was well graded and then disintegrated to needing a 4x4 type of vehicle. I had crossed at least two riverbeds and it started raining. I'm smart enough to know these areas that rain means mud and my small economy rental car would not be able to cross the river once it started flowing. After the rain. It was 36 km outside of Outshoorn. Absolutely no mention of the road condition there. Google maps does not indicate road condition. It is remote. It should be removed from the listing on booking.com. The owner was uncompromising to the reason for canceling and just stated that there was no refund. Mightily disappointing.

Mooie rustige locatie. Vriendelijk personeel en er kan gegeten worden wat erg goed is. En anders moet je terug richting oudtshoorn via lange onverharde donkere weg.

TopUnterkunft, sehr gepflegt, Top Service, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Tolle Landschaft wunderschön Gelegen in den Swartbergen. Haben jede Menge Giraffen , Antilopen und Zebras. Wanderung zu empfehlen.

Eine Oase in den Bergen, tolle Natur, viele Wildtiere, himmlische Ruhe, mega leckeres Essen und super freundliches Personal.

The property is off the beaten track beneath the very scenic Swartberg mountain range. To see most of the antelopes in Africa with such a scenic backdrop is hard to beat! Excellant food though limited choice. WiFi unpredictable due to weather and isolation.

Tolle Lage, Abendessen zu fairem Preis möglich....war auch sehr lecker. Schöne grosse Zimmer.Bad sogar mit Badewanne. Alles piccobello sauber. Viele Tiere kamen ,vor allem nachts, bis vor die Terrasse. Freundliches Team. Safe vorhanden.

Das Abendessen zog sich über 2,5 Stunden- ging mir persönlich zu lange. Vom Frühstück war ich enttäuscht. Ein kleines Buffet wäre cool gewesen. Der Saft war der wässrigste auf unserer ganzen Reise. Kein Kühlschrank und keine Klimaanlage. Kein TV im Zimmer- hat mich persönlich jetzt nicht gestört.

Wundervoll gelegene, sehr private Unterkunft mit herzlichem Betreiber! Das Essen ist empfehlenswert mit auch vegetarischer/ Veganer Option. Tolle Anlage mit Game Drive Optionen morgens und abends zu sehr fairen Preisen. Alles in allem auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert, wer einen Zwischenhalt für vielleicht auch einige Tage in der Nähe von Oudtshorn machen möchte!

Prachtige locatie met evenzo prachtig uitzicht. Tevens bieden ze korte gamedrives aan die geweldig zijn. En de giraffen lopen in de tuin.

Was für ein Erlebnis! Wir waren auf unserer Rundreise über die Route 62 für eine Nacht in der Game Lodge und es war der perfekte Zwischenstop. Schon bei der Anfahrt sahen wir viele Giraffen. Diese haben wir dann am Nachmittag als wir zu Fuß mit unserem Baby über das Gelände spazierten wiedergetroffen, ein Wahnsinnserlebnis wenn man plötzlich zwischen 17 Giraffen steht. Und abends kamen sie sowie Zebras etc auch vor die Terrasse beim Dinner. Willem war ein großartiger Gastgeber, die Lodge ist wirklich schön, unser Zimmer (Giraffe) war viel schöner als auf den Fotos, zwar nichr modern aber super geräumig und makellos sauber, wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Beim Abendessen und Frühstück wurden extra unsere Ernährungsvorgaben (vegan/vegetarisch) berücksichtigt - einfach bei der Buchung angeben. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben und können die Lodge zu 100% weiterempfehlen!

Sehr schön eingerichtet. Der Garten ist gepflegt und die Umgebung wunderschön. Mit etwas Glück (wir hatten mehrmals Glück) kann man auch die Giraffen auf dem Anwesen sehen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch das Essen war sehr gut. Besonders gefallen hat uns die beheizbare Unterlage im Bett. Wir können das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Herausragende Küche mit 3Gänge Dinner und verschiedenen Frühstücksvarianten . Überaus freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal , grossartige Zimmer (DeLux Suite) mit Badwanne, Sehr schöne Umgebung die die Big 5 zwar nicht ersetzten aber Ihre Abwesenheit nahezu kompensieren kann.

Food was fabulous. Great location, loved the game drive our driver was very knowledgeable and pointed so many things out about the animals, nature and geography that we could easily have missed.

The room (King suite) was spacious and very comfortable with a terrace both at the back and the front. It is great that we could walk safely in the extensive grounds of the lodge and come face to face with giraffes and antelopes! We also did a game drive, which offered beautiful views of the Swartberg Mountains. The meals followed a set menu and were quite good.

Because of a constant dripping sound we could not really use our front porch, but that was a minor inconvenience.

Auch wenn der Weg dorthin weniger bequem über Schotterpisten verlief, hat es sich absolut gelohnt: wunderschön gelegen am Rande der Swartberg Mountains, ruhig, großzügige und komfortable Zimmer und leckeres Essen. Auch die Auswahl der Weine ist sehr gut.

Da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden.

The location was relaxing and away from the busy world. The staff was kind and helpful. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The meals were delicious.

A beautiful private game lodge in the stunning setting of the Swartberg Mountains. The rooms were extremely comfortable, lots of space, good coffee and tea making facilities, water, glasses etc. Great sized bathroom with a bath and shower and a comfortable sitting area at both the front and rear of the room. It was lovely to sit on our patio with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning and watch the animals run around on the front lawn. The bed was very comfortable and although there was no air conditioning, the ceiling fans worked brilliantly at keeping the room cool. Willhelm was a great host, friendly and helpful and all of the staff were excellent. Breakfast and dinner were both fantastic also. Great pool and surrounding area too! The location was really good, close to the Swartberg pass road, and all in all we really enjoyed our two night stay. Fantastic value for money. Just wonderful.

Wunderschöne ruhige Lodge, Büffel, Antilopen, Gemsböcke, Schildkröten usw. grasen auf dem Grundstück. Bester Ort zum entspannen, wir waren leider nur zwei Tage da. Abends kamen zwei Stachelschweine vor unserem Zimmer vorbei. Das Abendessen ist großartig und abwechslungsreich, und der Gastgeber ist so reizend, eine der besten Unterkünfte, in der wir je waren. Im Zimmer gibt es gekühltes Wasser, für die Nespressomaschine gibt es 10 Kapseln zur Auswahl, die am nächsten Tag aufgefüllt wurde, haben wir in der Großzügigkeit noch nie erlebt. Auf dem morgendlichen Game Drive haben wir ganz viele weitere Tiere gesehen, keine Löwen oder Elefanten, aber alle anderen Viecher ganz nah, einfach toll

Frühstück war in Ordnung

- als je wildlife om je heen wilt hebben, is dit de place to be! Er lopen oa zebra's, elanden, stekelvarken, giraf, impala's etc op het terrein - ruime kamers, goede matrassen - service door Willem

- ook al is het aangegeven, de afstanden naar bijvoorbeeld een experience met meerkatten (via Five Shy meerkats, start 5.00 uur) of een cheetah (buffelsdrift), js minimaal 45 minuten rijden - ik hou van buiten zitten zodra het kan, zowel ontbijt als avondeten wordt allemaal binnen geserveerd - de sunset game drive, voelde als een taxi rondje. Wildlife werd door ons/de toeristen als eerste gespot. En als ze/onze ranger dan stopte, stopte ze ook nog verkeerd (voor haar een goed foto kliekje, voor ons totaal niet). - de eigenaar van deze lodge biedt ook hunting games op oa leeuwen aan. Ik wil hier niet aan gelieerd worden, en daarom zal ik ook nooit meer hier boeken

Wir haben hier für einen Zwischenstop nach Graaf Reinet zwei Nächte gebucht und haben es nicht bereut. Haben uns in der liebevoll gestalteten Lodge, sowie in unserem großzügigem und bestens gereinigtem Zimmer sehr wohlgefühlt. Es gibt viele Tiere direkt an der Lodge und am Wasserloch zu beobachten. Das Abendessen war hervorragend und Wilhelm ist ein liebenswerter und sehr professioneller Gastgeber. Vielen Dank!

We took an early morning walk, really early starting at 04:30. It was really cool, didn't see much game on foot, but enjoyed a stunning sunrise. It was well worth the effort to get up & walk. The host was super! He recommended the wine at the top of the list. My Best Friend! Great Wine! The chef made simply divine food (and is super sweet!). Make sure you are sitting on the front veranda for meals...watching the animals. At sunset the game comes to drink at the waterhole, close to the pool. Giraffe passed our room window within 8m, it was crazy. The game drive is obviously worth it.

Sehr schöne Lodge. Netter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Gutes Frühstück und Abendessen. Viele Tiere die man teilweise am Morgen vor der Terrasse sehen kann.

Im Zimmer fehlt ein Kühlschrank. Beim Frühstück muss jedes zweite Getränk (incl. Kaffee) extra bezahlt werden. Das kann man besser lösen.

This is a wonderful location run by the redoubtable Willem who runs a tight ship. Some of the best rooms we have come across in South Africa; large, modern and airy. Probably the best accommodation in the Swartberg area. The food was also excellent. The lodge was simply excellent and inviting.

Poor internet connection and difficult to find. Needs a better sign by the gates to tell people to carry on to the lodge if coming from the East.

Die Lage, die Zimmer, das Personal - rundum alles! Die Anfahrt über die 6 km Schotterpiste war ein kleines Abenteuer!

We felt really immersed in the natural beauty of the area. Although it doesn't have all of the big game, there were many, many different antelopes alongside zebra, giraffe and smaller animals. They often come right up to the rooms. The food was really delicious.

Struttura bellissima immersa nella natura. Cibo squisito in particolare l’agnello e personale estremamente disponibile. Raccomandatissimo!

Wir haben auf der Garden Route einen Abstecher nach Oudtshoorn gemacht und eine Nacht in der Lodge verbracht, was für uns ideal und sehr entspannend war. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und fühlten uns sehr wohl in der geschmackvoll eingerichteten Lodge.

Wunderschön gelegene Lodge. Highlight: man kann zu Fuß oder joggend einen „Game Walk“ auf einer 7,5 km langen Runde machen.

The resort was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. The views of the mountains are breathtaking and the wildlife roam freely. It was a relaxing couple's holiday.

Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt in der Swartberg Lodge. Es war einfach alles perfekt - die Location, die einmalige Safari und das Menü am Abend. Lage ist traumhaft. Mitten im nirgendwo und umgeben von Bergen.
