Lack of personality

Das B&B liegt nahe am Strand, von wo man eine wunderschöne Küstenwanderung starten kann. Auch zum Bahnhof ist es nicht weit, der Bus fährt auf der anderen Straßenseite.

Das Zimmer war zwar groß, jedoch gab es keinen Ausblick. Die Badtür ging nicht richtig auf, dafür ging das Badezimmerfenster nie ganz zu. Dadurch, dass das Zimmer im Erdgeschoss liegt, hört man auch jeden Schritt der oberen Bewohner, da die Holzdielen knarren.

The local area seemed to have a lot of boy/girl racers parading their noisy vehicles around the Portrush area on the Sunday evening.

The self-service breakfast was disappointing. I don’t mind a continental breakfast (and yes, this was stated on booking.com), and I’m perfectly happy with a self-service setup. However, this felt more like a supermarket breakfast. There was no fresh bread, and most of the products appeared to be shop-bought, most items from Lidl. There was still plenty of choice, but I would have appreciated some fresh, good-quality bread and a more homemade feel.

Quite a central location, very clean, good sized bedroom and lovely bathroom

10 minute walk from the beach, so quiet and homely. The shower and bathroom were great. Beds were so comfy. More than enough tea and coffee provided. Definitely recommended.

Camera accogliente e provvista di tutto quello che può servire con bagno strepitoso dotato sia di una doccia grande che di vasca da bagno. Tutto molto pulito.

La colazione è da rivedere del tutto. Non può definirsi internazionale e dovrebbero esserci prodotti di maggiore qualità. Inoltre la formula self-service va bene solo in caso di vero buffet. Non la consiglierei affatto.

It was within walkable distance of Portrush

It felt strange not to be met by someone at check-in & breakfast, although I did meet the owner on the second morning. She explained that most B&B’s are doing this.

Das Zimmer war ruhig, da es zum Hof lag. Es war sehr komfortabel und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstück bereitet man sich im Frühstücksraum selbst zu. War aber alles da.

Poor, from reviews expected so much better. Small double bed, small room, dated decor - breakfast ?? What breakfast - we left and bought a cooked breakfast locally - I won’t be back!

Het huis ligt aan een zeer drukke weg. Het geluid hoor je in de oudbollige kamer. Zonder airco of ventilator. Deze accommodatie heeft zijn beste tijd gehad. Slechte gordijnen, kleine en zeer simpele badkamer. Het ontbijt staat klaar. Ook de schimmel in de broodzakken. Geen persoonlijk contact met host.

Το Anvershiel House ήταν ένα από τα καταλύματα που μας άφησαν τις καλύτερες εντυπώσεις. Βρίσκεται πολύ κοντά στο κέντρο του Portrush, αλλά ταυτόχρονα αρκετά μακριά από τη φασαρία, οπότε η τοποθεσία ήταν ιδανική για εμάς. Ήταν επίσης πολύ βολικό ως βάση για την επίσκεψή μας στο Giant’s Causeway την επόμενη ημέρα. Το κατάλυμα λειτουργεί με έναν πιο ανεξάρτητο τρόπο. Δεν υπάρχει κάποιος να σε υποδεχτεί κατά την άφιξη· παίρνεις το κλειδί σου από ένα locker και υπάρχουν αναλυτικές οδηγίες για όλα όσα χρειάζεσαι. Μάλιστα, έχεις πρόσβαση με το δικό σου κλειδί από την κεντρική είσοδο μέχρι και το δωμάτιό σου. Πιθανότατα συναντήσαμε τους ιδιοκτήτες την επόμενη ημέρα, καθώς μας ρώτησαν αν ήταν όλα καλά με τη διαμονή μας. Αυτό που μας άρεσε ιδιαίτερα ήταν η πολύ σπιτική ατμόσφαιρα. Νιώθεις περισσότερο σαν να μένεις σε ένα πολύ όμορφο και προσεγμένο σπίτι παρά σε ένα τυπικό ξενοδοχείο. Το πρωινό ήταν πολύ καλό, με αρκετές επιλογές, και μπορούσες να ετοιμάσεις μόνος σου το πρωινό και τον καφέ σου, με μια αίσθηση ότι βρίσκεσαι πραγματικά στο σπίτι σου. Το δωμάτιο ήταν όμορφο, άνετο, καθαρό και πολύ ζεστό ως ατμόσφαιρα. Μια μικρή λεπτομέρεια που μας κέντρισε ιδιαίτερα το ενδιαφέρον ήταν η ταπετσαρία με τον παγκόσμιο χάρτη στην κουζίνα. Σε διάφορα σημεία του χάρτη υπήρχαν πινέζες, πιθανότατα σηματοδοτώντας μέρη που έχουν επισκεφθεί οι ιδιοκτήτες ή οι επισκέπτες. Μας έκανε πραγματικά να αναρωτηθούμε ποια είναι η ιστορία πίσω από αυτόν τον χάρτη — θα είχε πολύ ενδιαφέρον να τη μάθουμε! Συνολικά, μείναμε πραγματικά πολύ ικανοποιημένοι από το Anvershiel House. Είναι μια εξαιρετική επιλογή για κάποιον που θέλει μια ήσυχη, άνετη και πιο «σπιτική» διαμονή στο Portrush, χωρίς να βρίσκεται μακριά από το κέντρο.

Nice hotel in Portrush at walking distance of the beach and the city center. We had a big room including a large bed and a sofa. It was very quiet as it was not on the street side. The included breakfast was nice.

La struttura si trova su una strada abbastanza trafficata rumorosa se si vuole lasciare la finestra aperta.

Esmorzar senzill però molt complet. Totes les facilitats. La propietària ens va donar indicacions per la nostra excursió del dia que van resultar molt útils.

You could hear the rooms, it wasn't too bad until 3rd night and one room had party between 2am and 4am after coming back from a night out. Not the B&B fault but there wasn't anyone onsite to sort it.

-Etagen-/Hausdecken haben extrem schlechte Trittschallisolierung, sodass man die gesamte Nacht über jeden Schritt hört. So ist Schlafen unmöglich. -schlechtes "LIDL-Selbstbedienungsfrühstück", Wurst und Käse muss selbst aus Kunststoffverpackung herausgeholt werden, sehr unhygienisch, während drei Tagen Aufenthalt gab es nut 1x gekochtes Ei, sonst nichts -Host während des gesamten Aufenthaltes nicht gesehen, sehr unpersönlich

The room was lovely, clean and spacious. The breakfast was stocked with a wide selection of cereals, bread, fruit and other items. There was a great choice of teas and coffee.

It was hot (the weather obviously isn't the owner's fault) but there was no fan (there was a fan heater probably better suited to the usual temperature in Portrush). A regular fan would have been great.

Les hôtes étaient sympathiques mais non présent à notre arrivée sauf pour le déjeuner qui était un self service!

Le lit n’était pas de niveau et il penchait de l’avant vers l’arrière! Il faisait chaud dans la chambre! Aucune fan de disponible!

Ian is great gave us good tips about places to visit and see, offered great coffee even after breakfast time, wonderful continental breakfast with eggs and plenty of choice, very clean rooms, everything working, less than 10mins walk from train station at quiet, great location

From the moment we arrived Ian offered us tea and coffee until our room was ready , the place was very clean and had everything we needed even biscuits and bottles of water . Location was right on the edge of town and only a few minutes walk to the centre with the west strand beach just around the corner .We had a room looking onto the Main Street which was bright and airy and as for value we couldn’t ask for anymore , would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Portrush as it even has its own parking at the front of the property , which can sometimes be hard to get on a busy day .

There was a good selection for Breakfast, I know it was a continental breakfast but it would have been nice to have hot option for breakfast as well as I enjoy scrambled egg on toast with bacon. The Room was clean and nicely presented. Good location as it was very close drive into town. The world map was cool to see.

We were in room 2 which is fine. The issue was pillows. The pillows in the room in my opinion were a bit flat and need replacing. The air fan in the room while good in the hot weather, the problem with the air fan it's got a lot of dust in it and needs to be cleaned.
