Beautiful stay. So impressed with the room. Castle for meals was exceptional. Really special. Lovely gardens.

The grounds were lovely and staff was quite nice and accommodating. The room was comfortable but could use a bit of updating. The restaurant was decent.
The care taken by all the staff especially in the restaurant. They took great care with regard to my special diet needs. Good communicatin between the staff. making our stay excetional.
Can't think of anything.
Great accommodation, relaxing atmosphere
Amazing venue, great breakfast.
We had a fantastic stay. It is a lovely place and the staff were all very helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious

The castle view suite was amazing. Bed was huge and very comfortable.
The curtain to block off the bed area didn't close properly.
Gorgeous place. Exceptional service.
Its a little off the beaton track but that was fine for us.
Beautiful location, secluded and atmospheric.

evening meals all amazing
Fabulous hotel, set in lovely grounds. A totally unique experience! Close to Hexham and visitor centres to Hadrian’s Wall. Lovely room, very comfortable bed Dog friendly
The stay was too short
Unique medieval castle. Battlements tour a must.
Beautiful property with lovely gardens and the castle was lovely to dine in, with the tour a bonus.
Room 28 had a water pump (as was described) in the wall/a cupboard located near to the bed head and it hummed constantly - which was annoying but nothing could be done about it. Paying the money we did for the accommodation, it was disappointing that this was an issue that no one seemed to be aware of or thought anything could be done about it. It impacted my ability to sleep. We thought we had a castle lodge room with a view of the castle but this was not the case, which was also disappointing.
Well maintained, staff very helpful, friendly, & welcoming.
Staff were amazing we were very welcomed and well looked after.
Welcoming Staff and a great building. The breakfast was very good, the Chef seems very capable.
Attention to detail. I booked a taster menu for Saturday night, this was to be a highlight of our stay. I prebooked a dietary requirement as I am Lactose intolerant, this was received but not actioned. All dressed up and mortified that we could not experience this. Additionally I booked an additional night to meet my partner a day earlier, we were offered an expensive suite, so expected something a bit special. The room was tired and the main shower did not work, apparently reception knew about this but failed to inform us. Additionally the aircon was not working, the remote was completely blank, room was roasting with windows open and we had a terrible sleep, second room was better but the extractor fan was not working, no fridges in any of the rooms, so our fresh dog food was a bit of a challenge to keep fresh!! We were offered £40 off a bottle of wine for the dinner issue and £30 for the room issues, premier inn would have refunded us 100% (room rate £255/night) The 3 night break cost be just shy of £1,000.00 (£90 extra for our tiny dog/Maltese poodle cross) I would say if you are a bigger party you will be treated much better than couples, that's all they seem interested in, profit. We asked for the room early 1:30pm instead of 3pm, yes sir that will be £30.00 extra. The stay was not worth the money, very disappointed.
Ambiente und Restaurant
Absolutely fantastic hotel, staff are the most nicest, helpful and friendly of any hotel we have stayed in over the years. Chef Mark Greenaway’s food and presentation are exceptional, the best meals we have in any hotel for many years.
Everything, especially the lovely staff
All meal 10/10
Castle is just beautiful
Breakfast was excellent, full Scottish was delicious and clean. My wife is vegetarian and thoroughly enjoyed hers

Everything! This place is stunning. The castle is historic, but we stayed in the annexe a short walk away. Our room was fabulous, with gorgeous views. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The food was delicious and served with a smile. Highly recommended.
I wish we could have stayed longer
The staff were very good especially Lilly and she also gave an informative castle tour. Parking was great. Food was very good.
The pre dinner drinks service upstairs was a little slow
Friendly staff. Fantastic location High quality food and service
Everything. A truly exceptional hotel in every way. A must return to property.
Absolutely nothing.
We stayed 1 night in the Radcliffe Suite. The room was awesome, the castle is amazing, staff and breakfast were great. This place is 5 star all the way.
Nothing. The only thing I can suggest is maybe a mini bar in the room.
Stunning Dining room. Good Choice of food Friendly staff
We had the Radcliffe suite which had a Sauna. Description of Room stated Robes and Slippers. Only one Robe and no slippers. Did contact reception and they said it would be sorted but was not during our stay . Just a little Blip but could not fault our stay.
Tolles Ambiente mit freundlichem Personal und hervorragender Küche

The location is excellent close to many tourist attractions and a tranquil setting. Food was excellent.
Cleaning staff were a little noisy in the morning in the general accommodation area.
The staff was friendly, the food was absolutely amazing, and the castle was truly beautiful.
Very unique property with a lot of history Loved the guided tour and the food excellent breakfast and fabulous dinner menu which was a gastronomic delight Although we did not stay in the castle we had a fabulous room
Nothing
The staff were excellent, the breakfast superb. The castle tour was a particular highlight.
There was nothing to dislike.
Great location, nice rooms next to the castle.
Excellent breakfast, good choice, well cooked and served by friendly staff in a wonderful setting The castle tour was a great bonus, very informative and well presented
Nothing comes to mind, as said excellent stay
Superbe castle and very calm and quiet place
It’s a castle😁
Loved it
Everything. Will be back.
The staff were exceptional. Enjoyed the whole experience. Wonderful castle. Extravagant!
Lovely building and decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable, excellent selection of to channels and good bathroom. Good quality food in the dining room for dinner and breakfast.
The aircon in our room was ineffective (and it wasn’t hot weather).
Historic
Choice of menu was limited.
A really unique hotel with so many interesting features and history. There is a daily tour where you can learn about the castle’s restoration and go up on the battlements. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, with pre-dinner drinks in the upstairs drawing room. Staff are all great - friendly and great service. Our room was in a separate building but was cosy and clean. We loved this hotel.
Nothing to not like.
Locatie en de keuken. Zeer goe eten.
Geen castleview vanuit de kamer.
Beautiful Castle - what an amazing experience. Historical features. Stunning grounds. Staff were very friendly. We dined in the evening and the food was exceptional. Similarly was the breakfast. Air con in rooms which was fab. Close to Vindolanda roman excavation site & museum
Nothing!
The castle is impressive but the staff and the service really make it a special event .

Good
Bathroom/showeroom too hot, extractor not working, sink top broken, generally rundown.
The main castle is a wonderful old building full of history. There are rooms in the main castle but we stayed in one of the castle view rooms sited in a small annexe across the front lawn just a couple of minutes stroll to the main building. The dining room is very elegant and the food is wonderful. All the front of house staff were friendly helpful and professional. Although there was an issue with booking in, when we finally got our keys we were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room.
Our room wasn't available until 30 minutes after the booking in time, housekeeping claimed the reason was the heat, considering all rooms are air conditioned maybe they should look for a more plausible excuse 🤔 It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room enabling us to keep some drinks cold and milk fresh. Although we were allocated a room with an adapted bathroom for the disabled with really good access (handy for myself having some mobility issues) I did notice all the emergency pull cords had been tied up and hung at least 4'6" high certainly not in reach of a disabled person if they have had a fall and need emergency assistance.
History when staying in the castle.
Some areas look like they need an upgrade
An excellent stay in this magnificent, peaceful spot nestled in nature. Comfortable, tastefully decorated rooms and beautiful gardens where sheep graze. Good dinners and breakfasts; the staff were incredibly attentive.
-
The castle is stunning, the room was amazing and the food was delicious. We were given a tour of the castle and learned about its history the following morning which was really interesting. All of the staff we encountered were lovely x
La posizione e la qualità della cucina
Nonostante la prenotazione di una camera con letto matrimoniale, il letto era molto piccolo con il materasso che usciva dalla struttura del letto di almeno 6-7 cm
Lovely to stay in castle with lots of retained features. Location gave easy access to lots places
The castle itself is fantastic and with great history, it also offers a bit of a tour of the castle itself which was done really well by the waiter superb job well done with the knowledge and enthusiasm etc.
We were rather disappointed with our room which was actually a suite. 1. The room sadly came with a pull out sofa bed which the sofa was what we wanted to relax on, but this is old and had a terrible sweaty smell to it which sadly disappointed us as no where for us to relax on and the room was very musty they obviously tried to air it out before our arrival with all the windows open. 2. The suite that we stayed in is actually sold as a room with a castle view. Maybe 10 years ago when the tress were not smack in front of our room again rather disappointed with this.
What a fantastic experience staying in a proper 14th century castle. The free castle guided tour including the ramparts, banquet hall and chapel was fun , informative and worth all the flights of stairs . The staff were friendly and very helpful. I lost count of how many times staff member asked if they could help with our bags. In hind sight I should have let them. Climbing a spiral staircase carry cases to the Percy room was no mean feat . The evening meal was excellent. Definitely fine dining. All in all our anniversary treat at the castle will not be forgotten for a long time.
Nothing not to like.
The room was large, it was very clean & comfortable. The refreshments were well stocked. It was lovely to see peacocks wandering around.
The castle was absolutely fantastic with a fantastic atmosphere and decor we will be going back again.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly the restaurant and food is excellent.
A fantastic unusual venue with a free tour available so you can learn about the history. Amazing food.
Wonderful stay. Whats not to like, what hasnt already been written. I should write negatives so not so many people go and the prices drop...but i won't. Its a Castle ...its Castley . Its unspoilt and coming through the gate makes you smile and feel special. Staff are brillant. You are met by friendly faces who are welcoming, efficent, very knowledgeable and most all genuinely intersted in their guests. There no over attempt to make the hotel modern or quirkey and it so good thats left as is. Our room was just delightful with everything you would expect but in a nicer setting . And the bathroom well I ve lived in smaller flats . We are definatley coming again .. I can only imagine what the place is like at Christmas. Again the staff told about the festive season and how awesome the castle is. We cant wait to return. I do hope that positive feed back gets passed on to the reception and other staff 24th July
Nothing. ok our stay was too short. .. and we had to share our stay with other people ....it was a long drive.... I dunno .... The morning news wasnt local...
Beautiful, quiet location with lots of history.
Such a lovely and extraordinary experience and atmosphere and very good restaurant! We loved it and the tour around the castle!
The castle and its location are stunning, the restaurant and food were fantastic and the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The guided tour of the castle after breakfast was excellent.
Amazing four-poster room in a British castle, it was full of history & we were given a guided tour, all the staff were exceptional & the food was truly delicious. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at -highly recommended

Great place for a brief getaway. Beautiful grounds and an impressive looking castle. Particularly liked the upstairs bar. Very relaxing with attentive staff. Would like to return in the winter to see the fire on.
Nothing. All good.
Great room and nice and quiet, great staff from the reception to the restaurant
Couldn't get a signal on the tv due to aerial issues but I enjoyed the peace and quiet
Lovely setting and immaculate grounds. Staff helpful and friendly, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and plenty of lovely places just to sit and relax with a drink.

The castle view suite was very spacious and comfortable furnished appropriately for the castle. Good experience staying in a castle. Particularly liked the lounge in the first floor. Nice breakfast service. The morning tour going through the history of the castle was unexpected and interesting.
Complained about a broken basin tap on the first day and was told it would be fixed, but it wasn't.
I had a lovely time here room was beautiful and the views were lovely xx
The location was amazing, the grounds beautiful, it was dog friendly, the peacocks entertaining and we all enjoyed our stay. The dining experience was everything we wanted and more, the strawberry and pistachio souffle was sublime. We had a great anniversary break and would happily recommend.

We loved the place the staff were attentive rooms clean .
No robes or fridge in our room evening menu ok but have had much better at other hotels .
I loved the customer service the elegance of the accommodation and the aetting. In addition the dinnet experience was one of the best i have ever had.
It was all good
My wife and I recently stayed at Langley Castle on a weekend trip to Northumberland. From the outside, this really is a stunning location. The castle itself has so much character that it’s almost like staying in a storybook. The rooms are equally full of character. We stayed in the Percy Room within the castle, and there was honestly very little not to like. I genuinely wanted to be able to leave this place a five-star review, but unfortunately it fell short of what you’d expect from a hotel that advertises itself as a luxury destination. When we arrived in our room, what we thought was another wardrobe turned out to be the door to another guest’s room. We were met with the extremely embarrassing situation of opening the interconnecting door to another guest's room. We informed reception, who apologised and corrected this situation promptly. Breakfast, left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed very inattentive. We waited over 15 minutes for our order for toast(which was cold), tea and coffee, and then waited a further 20 minutes for our cooked breakfasts to arrive. We felt that staff were quite inattentive. We went out for the day, and when we returned to the hotel, I ordered some fresh milk for tea to be brought to our room—an amenity the hotel offers. We waited 40 minutes for the milk, and only received it after phoning reception again to ask where it was. Dinner service, however, was excellent and very much exceeded our expectations. The food was outstanding, and we really enjoyed sitting in the drawing room for a drink before heading down for dinner. It was a lovely touch. The dinner service staff were exceptional. We were served by Rachel, Dawn (I think), and Aiden. The night before, we also met the young pastry chef, whose name we unfortunately didn’t catch, who told us about the desserts he was preparing. We had the s’more he made, and it was fantastic. I must say this young man has a real talent. These four members of staff are a genuine credit to the hotel. Sadly, breakfast on the second morning was much the same as it had been on the first. Once again, we were served cold toast, experienced inattentive service, and had long waits for both our hot food and our tea. Overall, Langley Castle is a beautiful hotel. It has tremendous character and is set in a fantastic location. However, we were let down by service in several areas that fell well short of what you would expect from a luxury hotel, particularly given the price of the stay. If the breakfast service matched the standard of the dinner service, this place could easily be something truly special. We shared the above concerns with a member of reception as we were checking out, who listened and made a note of these, and were very much hoping the manager would reach out, but have yet to hear from him.
This is a truly splendid hotel, one of the best we have stayed in. The staff were so attentive, the room immaculate and very cosy styled in keeping with the castle. Dinner and breakfast was amazing, beautifully prepared fresh food. we did the tour of the castle which was very interesting and informative. We will be revisiting in the future as we had a great relaxing weekend. Thank you to all the staff that made us feel so welcome especially Aiden the restaurant manager.

We came for an overnight romantic night away back in June and we certainly weren't disappointed. A beautiful stunning place in mesmerising surroundings and very friendly attentive staff. The water was off and the staff couldn't have done enough to help after we explained how my disability can affect me. We stayed in room 22 and it was gorgeous. Plenty room to maneuvere a wheelchair, comfy bed and the air con was an added bonus. Breakfast the following morning was the best ive ever had and I've had plenty, we were so impressed we have booked another stay for next month, cant wait. Well done to all at langley castle for making our stay special
The ambiance
Slow service to start in the bar. Good once the barman showed up
It was well positioned for visiting the surrounding area

Breakfast was really good staff were very friendly and efficient overall excellent place and location.very clean and beautiful gardens.
Coffee packets in room hard to open, couldn't fault any thing else
Spectacular hotel
Huge beautiful room, immaculately clean and comfortable. Enjoyable walk up to the castle through the garden and places to sit and ponder outdoors. (The peacocks were very entertaining!) Food and service in the restaurant were excellent and the staff were very courteous and helpful
Mobility issues meant that stairs to the drawing room were difficult.
Exquisite experience! From staff to food to the large comfortable room! Peacocks and beautiful grounds! This place is top-notch. Also, its location to Vindolonda and Sycamore's Gap is perfect for an afternoon of adventures!
There are zero complaints. It was lovely
The history tour was very interesting
The coffee was not very good
It’s magnificent!

This was our second visit to Langley Castle and we were really hoping it would live up to our first experience.... it didn't disappoint. We have stayed in many hotels around the world and there are very few that get so much right. The warm and friendly welcome, the outstanding service, the sublime food offering, beautifully kept grounds and pristine rooms make the entire stay a pleasure. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. We can't wait to come back again and we will be telling all of our friends and family to do the same.
Beautiful big spacious room with A/C which was great in the beautiful warm weather we are having. The castle itself and the gardens.
Not much
The whole atmosphere was wonderful. We were lu ky with the weather, even though it was rather hot, and the Castle looked at its best. The accomodation seemed very French. We had stayed in similar places in Brittany. We had an enjoyable evening meal and the morning history tour was a high spot, lead by a very friendly lady who also doubled up as a waitress.
We liked the whole experience.
Unique and full of history
NA
Breakfast was only order from the waiter. We much prefer a buffet so you can see exactly what you are getting. Breakfast itself was very nice.
The room was a bit cold as it got very little sun and the cleaners had left the aircon on very high. it was offputting. There were no hooks for outside coats. We had dinner there on one evening. It was a bit of a farce. We went to the restaurant and were told to go to the sitting room to give our meal and drinks order. that was chaos, two staff on duty who seemed to have no idea what they were doing. We booked for 6.30 it took until 7.30 before we had anything to eat
Very nice setting and beautifully maintained
Google took us on a road trip that took us south of Allston an not north. Maybe also the peacocks.
Beautiful restored castle. With original features. Lovely grounds to walk around or to just sit and relax with a drink.

Beautiful castle Wonderful food Friendly staff Spacious rooms
When the hotel charges £30 per dog per night, you hope for something exceptional. Instead it felt as if we were being fined for bringing our dogs to stay Dog beds provided were not clean and we suspect one harboured fleas. Some beds were removed without explanation later in our stay Room was not vacuumed during our stay. The top bed covers were smoothed but bed not remade fully as undersheets still crumpled. Guests with dogs have to eat at low tables in a separate lounge - hardly the best way to enjoy and digest a meal. There is one high table and if you miss that it’s tough. Some items were billed three times, not once.
Breakfast was splendid, although I feel that the installation of a buffet system would help everyone's enjoyment.
Waiting for service at breakfast, however speedy, is always a little frustrating.
Being a genuine castle originally built in 1350, it has lots of history. We loved our room within the castle itself with a 4 poster bed. Apart from the comfortable sofa, we had a lovely seating area, up a couple of steps, set within the walls, which are 7ft thick. Our ensuite was spacious, modern and well arranged with a huge walk-in shower. We even had air-con which was welcome during the latest heatwave. The Drawing Room was lovely and could get drinks, snacks and afternoon tea (yummy). The bar was just off this room with staff regularly circulating attending to guest needs. The Josephine restaurant was lovely too. Our dinner was very enjoyable, with delicious food and attentive staff, as was breakfast each morning. Plenty of parking, so no problem finding a space. The grounds were lovely and relaxing.
Nothing!
Amazing castle! Great food and wonderful setting
Although the food was fantastic the service didn’t quite match. Dinner service felt rushed and hardly a breath between courses. Breakfast was busy and very slow. Our orders were wrong. Staff although very polite didn’t really seem engaged with guests.
Best Hotel in Northumberland, the staff were incredibly helpful and kind, the service was amazing, we enjoyed afternoon tea outside as the weather was lovely! The food at dinner was incredible and the swift checkout the next morning with a smile was a really nice end to the stay. If you can then do the battlement tour, the staff are well informed and it was a real highlight of the stay!
