Reviewed May 26, 2026I have no complaints about this hotel. I can speak Japanese, so it might be a bit more difficult for someone who does not. A locker is provided for your shoes in the lobby. Slippers are in the locker. There is a refrigerator, microwave, and hot and cold water dispenser opposite. There is a large common room. They will loan you an extension cord as well as a kettle for your room if you ask. The room had two beds, bath with toilet and shower, a/c, TV and a good wifi connection. There is a very inexpensive shokudo two doors over, and there is a supermarket, laundromats, convenience stores, liquor stores and other restaurants on Kita Shirakawa, which also has bus stops. They lock the doors at 10, but they will give you a password to open the door. If you can get a price of under 8000 (single), this is reasonable value.
I was charged a ridiculous 400 yen per night city tourism tax charge when I checked in. Evidently, the city government does not feel that the 10% tax was enough. Or they do not want us coming here. Or they are greedy.

Reviewed May 6, 2026Das Zimmer war wunderbar geräumig, quasi riesig für eine Unterkunft in Kyoto. Ich konnte leider nur 2 Nächte bleiben, aber die Dame am Empfang war so nett, dass ich mich richtig wohl gefühlt habe und gerne noch länger geblieben wäre. Sie war wirklich sehr nett, ihre Englischkenntnisse waren auf jeden Fall ausreichend. Die anderen Gäste waren auch alle sehr nett, obwohl ich kaum Japanisch kann. Es ist wirklich gemütlich und ich halte es für eine der besseren Unterkünfte in Japans Traditionshauptstadt.
Die Ausstattung ist zwar nicht mehr hochmodern, aber es gibt alles was man braucht.

利用時には気になりませんでしたが、二重カーテンの内側のカーテンの巾がちょっと足りず、厳冬期には冷気を感じるかもなぁ...?と、思いました。室内にエアコンが付いているので、さほど気にしなくてもいいかもしれませんが...。

設備が少し古いので、２階、3階のトイレの匂いが気になりました。

部屋の臭いが、最初入った時に気になるような異臭がしていました。お風呂のガス湯沸かし器が室内にあり、シャワーを浴びるとその湯沸かし器の臭いも部屋に漂うのが気になりました。

早朝にホテルを出て遅くに帰るスケジュールだったのですが、3階の部屋でしたので部屋に行くにも気を遣うし、部屋の戸が重くて音がするので常に気を使ってしまう感じになった。トイレ、お風呂も共用だったので歯磨きや化粧なども常に気にしながらとなったのが不便でした。

It’s 2 beds and a bathroom which is fine obviously but no room for a couch or relaxing chair and desk.

Il vicinato molto carino con a soli sei minuti a piedi una caffetteria tipica. Vicino ci sono i mezzo che ti portano ovunque. Non vedo l’ora di tornare!!

Szinte egyetlen busszal elerheto minden (is) az Ezer kaputol a bambusz erdon at, az allatkertig az arany pavilonnal egyetemben:)
Nagy vasajto az osszes szoba ajtaja, szoval ha hagyod magatol becsukodni, akkor egesz epulet beledöng :D 45-50 perc a centrum... regies WC-ek, de a tisztasaggal nem volt gond :)
