Excellent location, great service from friendly and very helpful staff. Great breakfast. Car parking available, although I imagine at busy times in the Pub, parking might be an issue.

The room walls are thin and you could hear people in the other rooms.

Good location for the beach, Southwold and Walberswick. Free parking, WiFi. We had a very comfortable en-suite bedroom with a small terrace. Friendly, efficient, hard working and cheerful staff. Breakfasts delicious, nice variety and good selection of coffees. We had two evening in house meals both excellent. Both nights very busy but served with little fuss. Relaxed atmosphere. We would highly recommend The Sail Loft. Thanks to all the staff for making our long weekend in Suffolk so special.

Breakfast at 9.30am is a little late

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable albeit not especially elegant. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Staff did their best to be helpful. Location a little outside of Southwold was good, allowing for a short coastal walk into the town or a short coastal walk to the ferry for Walberswick..

WiFi wasn't working well, despite the manager assuring me that it had recently been upgraded. This caused difficulties as I needed to be online to make a presentation

Main bar/restaurant ready for a paint in places 😅 but appreciate hospitality is difficult so they have done super well to maintain the wonderful vibe and standard.

Late start time for breakfast- 09.30 to 11.00. We are early risers so found this challenging. Fairly limited choices for breakfast eg no fresh fruit, no choices of cereal. Just option for a bowl of sweetened granola with fruit compote and yogurt. My husband is diabetic so the choices were not ideal.

Good sized room, excellent food and lovely staff. Lovely evening beach walk and not a long walk to the main town.

The bedroom was fabulous and we had a balcony with lovely views, bed was very comfortable and everywhere was clean, staff were lovely and the breakfast was great, different to a usual full English.

Really attractive place right on the beach, which is what we wanted. Extra friendly and helpful staff. We were right up in the roof of the building and it had been cleverly designed to accommodate the double bed, and we loved it that in one direction we looked at the beach, and through the other we could look uninterrupted across the grassland behind.

The bath was in the room and there was no shower - we could manage but it was quite confined. And the loo and sink in the en suite were cramped to say the least - quite "in the room". The stairs up to the room were steep so maybe wouldn't have suited an elderly guest? Quite a long walk to the main town!

Staff were excellent, food was large portions and tasty, rooms was nice and pillows and towels were nice and soft great location .Will definitely return and book here again

Dinner was good, breakfast was adequate but room was on the small side.

Very disappointed with breakfast as on arrival my wife asked if they had soya milk because of intolerance to dairy, she was told yes we do, at breakfast the waiter when she asked said no only oat milk, fortunately she had bought some long life with her in a flask and had oatifkakes cereal with her too, so she just asked for a bowl and spoon. They didn't seem very interested on her needs. I was expecting a full English breakfast but it was all put into a wrap, which was not good. Also the table was sticky. We didn't stay for breakfast the second morning. I wonder how people with certain allergies would get on here!

The only thing at fault was the bed in room 4 - it not even so my husband rolls in to the creese which is not in the middle of the bed

Good location just out if town with easy walk into town. Very near the beach. Breakfast which was included was excellent & coffee was best ever.

Dinning area very busy & noisy as it seems a lot of non residents eat there. Be better if they kept some tables just for residents.

This was a very clean, comfortable room with an excellent shower and plenty of tea & coffee in the room. It was equally near the beach and the main village. They were very kind and let me leave my car in the car park after I had checked out as I was not returning home until the evening.

The breakfast was good but didn't include ordinary eggs and bacon, plain fruit or cereals, which could have been improved.

Friendly staff, laid back, I was on my own with my two little girls and they were so kind to us. lots of tea options! And breakfast was fab.

Lovely choice at breakfast. The room was a great size. We had large doors to a decking area which was great as the weather was very hot during our stay. We had two dinners during our stay which were both excellent. The staff were very friendly.

The hotel is in a superb location. We ate in the restaurant on the night we stayed and the food was imaginative and varied. Breakfast was also lovely and extremely well presented. Super staff!

A wonderful breakfast. For dinner we had the wagyu burger and seafood platter. Both were excellent!

Perhaps breakfast could start a little earlier, however i turned up early and was offered a coffee prior to the kitchen staff arriving, which was appreciated as i had failed to ask when breakfast starts.

Car park is fairly small. No problems with accommodation, although relatively expensive for what it was.

Lieu superbe avec des vues magnifiques sur le port et les marais et petit déjeuner exceptionnel. Merci à l’équipe très sympathique et efficace, notamment Sam🙏🏻. N’hésitez pas à y dîner aussi : c’est copieux et inventif.

Notre chambre donnait sur des tuyaux de ventilation qui disparaîtront l’an prochain… plus de peur que de mal au final.

I had booked bed and breakfast only. Breakfast was brilliant, cooked beautifully and excellent value.

One really tiny thing - the bathroom mirror in front of the sink was hung so high it was useless to me. Not a huge problem and it could be easily put right.

Difficult to shower in room 5, roll top bath quite a high step over for older guests..

It’s not very far from town. Room was lovely, shower perfect, breakfast excellent.

Bed was a bit too soft, we prefer firmer. That said we slept well.

Excellent room and bathroom - bed and shower both great, with lovely towels. Location also excellent, just 10 mins walk to the centre, overlooking the marsh and right next to the sea (though view blocked by the dunes). Food in the pub also very good and promptly served, even though very busy.

Parking very limited - we had to pay in the adjacent public car park when we arrived in the afternoon - but we were able to move our car in overnight. Breakfast not served until 9.30 every day. This is much too late for us - we like to get up and get going early - and we had to miss it altogether on the day we left. The menu and cooked food is very good but there is no buffet of cereal, fruit juice, fruit, yogurt etc, which we missed.

Lovely bedroom with a balcony overlooking the salt marshes. Opposite the hotel are steps giving direct access to the beach and it is only a short walk from the hotel to the shops and amenities. Breakfasts were delicious and there is a good menu to choose from. We also had dinner one night of our stay and the food was very good.

The food was superb……both breakfast and dinner ,with very generous portions The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a pleasant relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel.The location was excellent with easy walks to the town centre and the harbour, along the beach, or on the road.We hope to return very soon.

Just a personal thing,but I would have liked a wardrobe rather than hooks on the wall but this did not detract from the overall satisfaction of the hotel

It's dog friendly in the bar so be prepared if you're not keen on eating in a restaurant with dogs. I'm OK with it but had I come with a friend I know she would not have been happy with it. Breakfast starts at 9.30. Not a problem for me but I know some people like an earlier breakfast.

Die Lage ist perfekt: Eine Sanddüne vom Strand entfernt :), ziemlich in der Mitte zwischen dem Dorfzentrum (ca 10 min zu Fuß) und dem Fischerhafen (ca 15 min zu Fuß). Das Personal ist super nett, das Zimmer war komfortabel (auch wenn etwas hellhörig, hat mich aber nicht gestört, weil nachts ruhig war). Das Restaurant ist sehr beliebt und serviert vorzügliches Essen. Reservierung ist unbedingt erforderlich. Am ersten Abend hat mir das Essen so gut geschmeckt, dass ich gleich für den nächsten Abend reserviert habe :). Für die Gäste des Hauses war frisch zubereitetes Frühstück im Zimmerpreis enthalten. Lecker!

The breakfast was excellent the staff were great. The bedroom was shabby stained very tired cushions. Door locks were difficult, no wardrobe and missing handle on dresser where tea and coffee were placed. Chest of drawers ill fitting and breakfast should be available from 8am onwards. Far too expensive stay for room quality.

the menu stated cod and chips but when it was served up it was haddock which is a cheaper variety than cod when I queried this with the staff all I got was oh sorry, not quite good enough I think.

Great location, just a 7 minute stroll into town and right opposite the beach. Our room was lovely with its own balcony and lovely views of the countryside. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food (we had lunch, dinner and breakfast) was excellent - especially the prawns!

Our room (Room 1) could have done with a full length mirror and there was limited parking for residents.

A little overpriced but everywhere is in Southwold Room needs a bit more cleaning.(cobwebs on ceiling and lots of dust behind radiator but Room generally to a good standard. On busy days had to pay for parking but free overnight

The Food is excellent, the staff despite being super busy have time for everyone and the location is perfect for beach walks. Good place to stay away from the bustle of southwold centre.

Room was tired , needs some decor tweaks, although not grubby it felt like it was, floor was creaky and accomodation a little overpriced.
