Laguna Shores Resort

The only part of the stay that was disappointing was the beach. It’s supposed to be an ocean that you can jump into and go swimming. Crash against some waves. That’s a big negative. The ocean was a mile away. And when the tide came in it was above ankle deep for as long as you can walk out. Not what we were expecting! Other than that it was a great place to stay if you prefer a pool!

This place was exceptionally clean, lots of choices for food.

Beach Safety Warning We stayed at Laguna Shores Resort and had a scary experience walking out to the beach during low tide. What looked like firm sand quickly turned into soft mud—we began sinking waist-deep before realizing what was happening. Thankfully, we kept calm and got out, but it could have ended badly. There were no warning signs about this natural hazard, and we saw other guests walking even farther out across similar terrain. If you're not from a coastal area (like us), this type of tidal mudflat is not something you’d expect. Be very careful near the shoreline during low tide and ask the resort staff for guidance. The resort itself is beautiful, but I strongly suggest they add signage and safety guidance about the beach to help guests avoid what we went through.

Staff were very friendly, room was modern and met our family’s needs. Updating amenities such as air conditioners and water heater would improve the experience.

Restaurant is wonderful. Chef's excellent. We had the Tomahawk Steak, it was perfection. We were surprised with every meal. Definitely we will plan another trip.

I liked the hotel, pool areas and restaurant! The street to get into the property is very inconvenient, almost 2 miles and not paved.

I’ve stayed at most resorts in the Penasco area but this was my first time at Laguna and it was the perfect place for my family. Quiet, modern and amazing staff!! We will be back.

Broken dark shade, headboard, hot tub, luke warm water in sink and shower. Bugs on the floor everyday. After many complaints no comps. With one day left they offered to move us but we already had packed and was leaving. Staff answer was “I Don’t Know” to everything. Ice was $3 a bag. Dirt roads and long drive to other restaurants. I could go on but you get the picture. I wouldn’t recommend this location to my worst enemy. Take them off your sight.

We loved our stay at Laguena Shores! The rooms were beautiful as well as the beautiful infinity pool with its stunning ocean views! The resturant onsite is excellent from the five star food and an amazing staff! Thank you Ernesto and Miguel for taking great care of us. We are big fans! Laguena Shores will be our home away from home for many years to come!

The cleanliness of the entire resort was spectacular. The personnel very professional. I loved the private pool in our studio complex. This resort is amazing.

We love this place. Very quiet which is nice. But the high tide comes in late morning and goes out a couple of hours later. This was fine for us but others in our party wanted to swim in the ocean. The food at the pool is amazing!!

It was very clean, safe, the area was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay there.

Security is terrible is too dangerous place for my Bebe and my family they don’t let me go to the restaurant after 9.30 too many thinks about the resort I’m thinking buy a property but I prefer to stay and las Paloma’s

They didn't let my 6yr old daughter stay with me in my room because i needed to pay adult price for a 3yrs old and up they charge like an adult. So i ended up paying more than $100 do my daughter could stay with us

Hostess at front office was amazing, she answered all my questions efficiently. Room was clean and comfortable and the pool view was beautiful. The restaurant on the resort wasn’t appeasing to my liking but the staff were great. The tiki bar at the pool played great music and free activities were included. A great time was had and I’ll definitely book again 9/10

Absolutely fantastic! The units are beautiful and you can walk to the beach in mere seconds. The pool and activity centers are gorgeous and the swim up bar is a lot of fun.

The hotel is very far from the city it is the last resort leaving the city food delivery will not go out there only one small store and one restaurant with not a lot of options. if you want to be outside of city private beach and planning to bring own food this is the place also the road to the hotel is still unpaved

Loved the location and the beach area. The 1 bedroom family condo allows dogs which was great for us. We all had a great time and the beach is beautiful. Just be prepared that the tide comes in for a couple of hours and then goes back out. We cannot wait to go back so we can walk the ocean floor when the tide retreats for over a mile! What a great way to get steps in and allow the dogs to freely roam and make friends with the crabs! Please note that the dogs can only freely roam on the beach away from the buildings but must be leashed while everywhere else. The dogs cannot be in the pool area and it is enforced and the security is great. Laguna Shores is very quiet, especially at night which we appreciated. We have stayed at other locations all over Rocky Point and this by far tops the list for being quiet!! The food at the restaurant is great and the pricing was not bad. The food available during the day at the pool is amazing. The tacos are very very good and we were not disappointed. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Please note there are a couple of stores close by to get alcohol and snacks. If you plan on eating out then plan on driving about 20 mins or so to the resort area and restaurants! Though you may have to drive the stay is worth it. Cando was very clean and has a full kitchen with a dishwasher and a huge fridge!

Beach was not good . Not much access. Location was poor too far from everything. Pool was nice and activities. Add a breakfast dinner buffet and offer inclusive. Maybe add a club/bar time area

Servers pool bar did not approach me or family, no a single customer just us but never approach us. Bad service terrible facilities

Staff was incredibly kind and attentive. Our room tv did not work and there was no microwave, but staff offered to change our room our last nite and also provided us with a drink of choice. Due to a recent rain, the road into the resort was flooded and we could not enter for several hours later. They need to properly maintain their road for residents as well as those staying in the hotel.

Missing soft lights near bed. Did not do the room when we stayed 2nights. They blocked the access to our room at 9am when the check time is 11am. Far from the beach.

Wonderful staff, location, Beach Access , restaurant and accommodations. No bed side lamps or Kleenex. The main pool with music and swim up bar was not available - a major disappointment. We will go back though.

YOU CANNOT SWIM IN THE OCEAN HERE! I unfortunately did not do my proper research on the tides. I’ve stayed in Puerto Penasco previously but with the photos and the promise of a beach front property and beach access, I thought I’d at least be able to touch the ocean. Unfortunately the ocean at the highest tide does not reach near the shore at all. I was excited to rent kayaks, and then realized I couldn’t even take them to the ocean.. I was also excited for a room with a hot tub, but upon filling it, it was extremely yellow/brown and left a thick residue of what looked like tanning oil or something of the sort on all of the sides. The bed was less than desirable as there was no movement to be made without huge noises and a microwave in the room would’ve been wonderful. Unfortunately will not be staying again ):

The staff was very helpful. It was our first time visiting the area and they were very accommodating in answering questions and providing recommendations.

Like the fact that the property is safe & quiet.

Make sure to run the water a few minutes for the jacuzzi, the water seems yellowish, but front desk assured us it because of the water treatment system

Cold showers . Colder swimmng pools Maid chatting outside our door first thing in the morning. Heater kept turning off we has to use towels to keep warm. Price in the restraunt over the top for what you got. Breakfast was good. It was a big disappointment

The bed wasn’t the best

Had a short but lovely getaway here for my birthday and I was wonderfully impressed! The food at Infusion del Golfo is great, the service across all areas of the resort is top-notch and the villa we stayed in was absolutely lovely. And it's just beautiful, an easy drive into Rocky Point itself but nice and quiet and safe and private if you don't want to venture too far.

The room was too cold, there wasn't hot water for the shower, the main pool and hot tub was far from the room. However, the room felt safe, and the staff was friendly.

This property is definitely a tourist trap full of newly build or homes being built to possibly catch your interest to purchase, definitely not a resort!!! Images of property and where you stay is not as shown or advertised. The "beach front " property or should I say marsh from property, is far from any thing of convenience. To get to an actual beach or food is Abt 30. The check in at first was great, people nice, until we let them know we weren't staying after all, and would like refund , 360 attitude change from the gentleman, whom got angry and was well the description said this and I was like. I and showed him , well it said that and I wa alike no and showed him what's on Expedia com. The young lady was nice and felt bad. Someone who just checked in early said they were leaving as well. We asked if can receive refund because of false advertisement and they stated we had to go through Expedia. Which we have reached out but haven't heard back.

This hotel is a few changes away from being absolutely awesome. Great value overall from room to restaurant. The place does look like the pictures. The pool is nice, but not heated (great in summer, a little chilly in October). The beach is extremely tide dependent, and can right outside the resort or miles away in the low tide. Great for collecting shells or sea creatures, we found a beautiful sandy beach just a short walk north during the high tide. It's a little remote, but a good value overall.

This place is mainly for adults wanting peace and quiet. Not to much to do and town is about 15 min away. It’s quiet and very well manicured with only a few things to do. Mainly relax. We enjoyed it very much.

First of all, I ended up leaving the first night we got there. My friends and I didn’t stay at this place, we ended up getting a different place call Playa Bonita which was wayyyyyyy better. First thing first, the place is far away from everything! It’s approximately 25-30mins away from bars, restaurants, activities, entertainments… Secondly, the staff were very rude and inconsiderate. There’s one elevator and I asked for my room to be on the 1st floor due to my friend and I having health issues/knees problems, and the staffs at the front desk rudely dismissed us and weren’t considerate of our request. Thirdly, we managed to check out the room and the room were not as describe. Different in person than on the internet/Expedia. We stayed in the room for about an hour looking for another location to book, and while in the room, we noticed mosquitoes and flies flying around the room. The room also didn’t have a microwave, dirty windows and beds pillow cases and sheets were dirty. And lastly, when we turn in the sink water, it was coming out brown. Overall, this place was not suitable for our stay and we ended up leaving after we found a different place to stay, which was Playa Bonita Resort. Top tier service at Playa Bonita. Loved everything about it!

Great place to stay

Property is great. But no beach side accessible for me and my 2 infants. The sea water only gets close for about 2 hours twice a day. I guess it has to do with the moon. Ended up driving to playa Bonita to enjoy the beach and sea water. Another detail in the hotel: In order to enjoy their main amenities,; one has to drive with in the property. It’s too hot to walk and even harder with infants.

Lots of construction in the area, thats why we gave it a 3 for surrounding area. A microwave in the room would be nice. Better menu, same everyday. Not knowing anything about the area, we were not thrilled about the tide having to come in a mile or so everyday to make this waterfront property. Little deceiving. Staff was the highpoint. The pool was great. Should try harder about getting rid of all the bees. I saw a ground Squirrel take a french fry off a plate that was going out to a customer... yikes.

They did a bait and switch, charged more, then after we went to the 3 bedroom they came back and said we needed to move to a 2 bedroom. So unprofessional

Been commimg here for 4 years in a row already and sadly every year quality decreases in this place, the idea is good but a change in management or rules seems needed. I have to say that every single staff member here is awesome. 1. The pool bar closes at 6pm now, they take away the music and dont offer drinks anymore, this is very disrespectful for the people that's at the pool after 6pm, if you are going to do that at least allow people to bring their own drinks and music. 2. Lighting in the pool after 6 is needed. 3. Pool cleaning needs a lot of improvement. 4. Bedrooms infested with drain flies 5. We are in 2024 , by now we all know how timeshare work and or fractional shares, and we know they are useless,either offer something better and respect it or once we say know leave us alone and let us enjoy our vacations. Again place is good but changes are needed asap...

The property is beautiful as are the rooms - though they aren’t soundproof as advertised - the family above us had littles that were constantly moving around furniture. I would suggest placing families in the lower levels - it’ll be easier for them too since there aren’t any elevators. I would also suggest placing more bilingual employees in the staffing areas that have the most interaction with guests - I only visited the activities center once and we had to use Google translate - which I don’t mind personally but English is clearly listed under the languages spoken section so it’s implied that those types of employees are more multi-lingual than they actually were. I booked my stay through Expedia and really did not like being bombarded with a sales pitch for vacation ownerships right at check in - this information was not listed anywhere in the property descriptions on Expedia. The incentives are great though, as was the person who signed us up for the property tour was also I was just a bit blindsided. I also wished there were more options on the dinner menu. It’s also very expensive - but worth it - everything I ate there was amazing - but a kids menu would be beneficial and some more affordable choices - primarily for the families staying longer term given how far the property is from the city. Overall our stay was amazing and we had a wonderful time!

There were certain staff members who assumed we didn’t speak Spanish because we are black and called us out of our names and suddenly felt stupid when we talked back in Spanish. Zero music can be played from your room after 10 but people can be screaming inside there room and nothing be done. They say the beach is right out the door but they fail to tell you the tides only come close during 2pm-4pm, otherwise the tides are 4 miles away.

The property is really far from the city its like a 30 min drive, when we went the tide was low so there was no ocean. They have a lot of rules and only one restaurant that is very expensive. Only stay here if you are planning just to be in the hotel and pool.

Everything was nice it’s a little secluded, so we stayed there the whole time and the restaurant is a little pricey. The drive from security check in to the condo was a bit bumpy.

La villa está muy bonita , el único problema es con el servicio que brindan el personal de seguridad, mi grupo y yo nos sentimos acosados, los señores de seguridad eran groseros, estando en el área de la piscina nos dijeron que decían los meseros que si no íbamos a consumir que nos retiráramos al área de arena y que no podíamos tener en esa área nada que no sea comprado ahí, artículos que nosotros compramos en la tienda de la entrada que supongo que les pertenece, por otra parte recibimos la visita de 2 amigos los cuales al final del día que cerraron la alberca nos acompañaron a nuestra villa, ellos no duraron con nosotros más de 10 minutos porque el mismo señor de seguridad grosero acompañado de otros fueron a molestarnos por las 2 puertas de la villa, la verdad el lugar me encantó pero el trato de las personas de seguridad está en 0, y por último a las 9:30 nos aproximamos al bar de la alberca para preguntar a qué horas cerraban esa área y hasta cuando podíamos pedir comida, todavía no llegábamos a al bar cuando un integrante del personal nos gritos ya está cerrado. El personal de recepción son muy educadas y amables.

No real beach tide was out whole time

The property and amenities are beautiful. The location and beach area is not for anyone that would like to hang out at the beach all day. High tide is only for a couple of hours each day and you would have to walk a long ways to get to the water. As for the staff and service, they were a bit rude and not very accommodating. We felt we were being watched the entire stay and didn’t give us much privacy. Because of the location and limited availability to food and drinks the prices of food and drinks at the resort were very high. Not very convenient for a family of six.

WARNING the beach / water only shows up for a couple hours per day … check the high tide times before you go!

pictures shows that the beach is right by the pool but Tides were very low and no where to be found anywhere near our room. Also ppl have attitude when you order drinks at the pool bar. Also it’s a 20-25 min drive from the main city. I honestly won’t be booking with them again..

This property is not a resort, limited to zero amenities. 1 pool, 1 restaurant, 20-30 minutes from anything, youre in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. The beach is not even close to such "sea view" from your hotel. Terrible service, staff never explained anything or showed where any activities were. Overall terrible experience, tried to cancel my reservation and the staff gave me the run around by telling me checking first then we can cancel then told me only expedia could help me. I left the property daily to go have actual fun at other beaches would just use the resort to sleep. Couldnt wait for the reservation to be over. Do not stay there, waste of money, waste of time.

I loved everything about this resort. Everyone was very nice and the overall resort was quiet, safe, and filled with a lot of things to choose from!

Amazing place to stay clean nice beaches clean pools And close to everything

Overall, the places very nice, here are the things I think they need to look at. 1. The curbs all over the area are way too high they bottomed cars out and could cause damage. 2. We lost our key late at night and could not get any help from the security people, we were lucky enough to have a friend stay there or we would’ve had to sleep in the car in very hot weather. This is ridiculous. 3. The kayaks are in horrible condition. They take on water. 5. The restaurant food is very good, but the menu is very limited and simple things like hamburgers for dinner are not available, since it’s the only restaurant for miles they need to think a little bit about expanding the menu Yes 6. If you don’t wanna stay on the resort all the time it’s going to cost you a fortune. It’s $60 each way to go to Porto Penasco a shuttle would be nice at least to get there.

This resort was beyond what I expected it was very nice and cheap for everything they offered.

The beach is not infront of the hotel theres no beach tthe employees are rude really rude they count everybody in your family like 20 times everytime you leave property you cant bring extra person to your room not even for a talk they they sell everything super expensive 4 smothies 50 dollars am very dissapointmet nwver going back me and my family got 3 rooms and is ridicules how ther teat customers they are harrasing you all the time 24 hours a day
