Great location! Toilet was separate from the shower. Coffee and tea setup was very nice. Staff was friendly and attentive. When I texted regarding more towels. They were up very quickly. The freshwater on the hall.

The room could use a full lane mirror, and more hooks to hang up wet towels. The room had a musty smell, and the windows were unable to be opened.

Our room was on the top floor below the rooftop bar. It could get a bit noisy when they had to roll around the kegs, but overall a good experience!

Very central location on main pedestrianised road. Very convenient for exploring Salem on foot. Clean, comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff. 24/7 coffee and filtered water available. Nice roof top bar.

When arriving during the day you have to enter through an out of service bar/restaurant. We nearly thought we had the wrong place! The hotel reception is tucked away on the side - some clear signage at the front to direct hotel customers would be helpful! There is also no hotel parking due to the location in a pedestrian zone. Public lot parking is nearby but finding a space can be challenging and you have to be prepared to walk 5-10 mins with your luggage.

Location was amazing. Was deffinitly accessible to car in Church Street parking lot. Convenient to CVS for snacks or anything we would need. Price for room service breakfast was cheaper then I predicted. Great food. Staff were very friendly.

Micro king - bedroom had a hall with wasted space. Bed is on a frame so we kept busting our shins on the bed. Bathroom has sliding door and there is a gap. Stayed with my daughter. That made it a bit awkward for a teenager.

This is the PERFECT spot within walking distance of all major shopping and historical sites right in the heart of Salem

Location was great. Easy walk from the train. Room was small as expected. Choose the micro king. Bed was very comfortable rooftop bar was good as was the food and drinks would stay again.

1. room is large, but very badly designed. toilet and bathroom are separate, but toilet has no sink, so if the person you are sharing the room with is having a shower, you can't wash your hands. shower stall has no shelf for bath essentials, which means you have to place them all on the corner of the bathroom sink nearest the shower stall and reach out for your shampoo and body wash as you shower. you can imagine how wet everything gets. there isn't anywhere to hang your towel or fresh clothes either, except for the hook on which the hairdryer hangs. 2. the crazy sliding doors of both the toilet and bathroom, meant to look like castle doors, flap and do not offer full privacy. 3. the hotel offers food and drink on the roof, which is fine. but the kitchen and bar on the ground floor only serves on weekends. in the 4 nights we were there, we tried twice to book a table on the roof and failed, and could get no food and drink service downstairs. and of course, no room service. fortunately there were other places to eat nearby.

Super continent location right in the middle of everything.

The sofa bed was not as comfortable as it could be and was very squeaky when you moved on it. I also would have liked a tv in the downstairs bed unit not just in the lofted area of the suite.

The curtains in the two story room did not open so it was extremely dark...not my vibe.

First - way over priced but I get it’s the location . we stayed in a kind suite where there was a pullout couch on a second floor like a loft . There was a giant pole in the room with a table and chair so we couldn’t get the couch out . My mom had to sleep on the couch without the bed part . Horrible ! Also the tv was up there so no one could watch anything at night in bed down stairs! The floors were all uneven and the toilet bathroom was separate across the hall from shower. The whole layout was terrible ! We also had been out and did not want the cleaning people to touch our room as we were only there for two nights - well they did and we had purchased items from goodnight fatty (a cookie place in town ) and the cleaning lady took them and threw them out when they were know where near the garbage ! They were sitting on top tour fridge ! The hotel offered to give us pastries or $20 refunded . We did appreciate that . But no one should’ve been in our room or touched any of our things ! So disappointing! I def won’t be staying there again! I’ll find a nicer place in Salem . While it’s conveniently located across from most of the shops it’s def not worth the price ! You walk everywhere anyways .

This hotel is centrally located to all of Salem’s tourist destinations and not too far from the beach (if you don’t mind a good walk). Lots of great food options nearby as well.

The room had three outlets, only one of which worked so with two people trying to charge three devices, we had to get creative. But otherwise no complaints or issues whatsoever

I have been in the group travel business for 40 years. Never have I left a hotel property knowing the names of staff members like I do here... Ashley, Julie, Tim, Billy, Brian, Cody. Whatever it is that Lark does to create an atmosphere where guests learn and remember the staff like that is doing it right. Room appointments and amenities are great, this location is great, the food and cocktails also great. But, what makes The Hotel Salem REALLY GREAT are the people there. They are providing genuine hospitality. This was our second stay, two rooms this time and a five star experience once again!

It rained on Sunday. We do not blame the Hotel Salem for that.

First of all, the staff, all the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Loved the Counter Bar for drinks and Apps. Ashley, our bartender is now our best friend in Salem! Cody at the front desk was very accommodating for this stay and helped us for our next stay when we have two rooms for Easter Weekend. Location is awesome, BTW!

Nichts. Wir kamen am Abend des Blizzards an.. viele Mitarbeiter konnten gar nicht zur Arbeit kommen. Die, welche es trotzdem geschafft hatten, gaben ihr Bestes für uns Hotelgäste! Herzlichen Dank nochmals dafür an dieser Stelle!

We were down to Salem for a wedding and ended up booking a room at the Hotel Salem because of its proximity to ceremony, restaurant, etc. in the heart of downtown Salem. The rooms were very clean, unique and very comfortable. The service from check in to check out was impeccable - highly recommend!

Best hotel in Massachusetts. Management is professional and the hotel decor is superb! Great place if you are from Europe and want to be closer to the ocean. Train commuter rail is close by and amazing restaurant located inside hotel. Seafood place nearby with the best customer service in New England. Best murals in the United States!

Excellent location! Room had everything you would need! The toilet leaves a little to be desired in terms of privacy in the micro-king room, but you can work around that easy enough. The room is concise and thorough. There’s even a mini fridge and an iron and ironing table. Would recommend highly for couples!

We didn’t have a car when we stayed, but if you did have one you would need to navigate that - front desk did have plenty of suggestions though!

Through “Bookings.com” I was told I’d have a city view, which I was looking forward to. I reminded the person checking us in and he didn’t know what I was talking about. When I got to the room I saw a brick wall with hvac units on top.

Arriving early and still not able to check in until 3:45. Room 101, heat malfunctioned. Our teenager not able to sleep it was so hot in the mezzanine and cold downstairs. We were able to switch rooms the next night. TV in the new room wouldn't go on and one outlet didn't work.

The location was central to shops and activities. The staff was pleasant. The room was beautiful.

The outside noise, including interior due to noisy guests walking and talking loudly, was disturbing.

The heat was at the top of a small ceiling, so the lift would be very warm and the bottom of the room wouldn’t heat much

I actually stood from December 21 to December 26 and it was a great experience I like the property because there was different set ups in different rooms and I love that they had the lounge room and a coffee place in the morning before work

Only thing I didn’t like about the property is that some of the rooms were really cold, but they were very accommodating to move you and they don’t have room service 24 hours

Our shower was lukewarm and staff made sure to get us a new room ASAP. The next shower was extremely warm and comfortable.

The hotel was quiet for being in such a busy location. The staff was helpful and the lobby is lovely. The room was quite spacious. There was a pipe that leaked in the hallway outside our door and the staff was apologetic and helpful.

The rooms are starting to look a little tired and need a refresh. For the price, I'd expect them to really be on top of maintaining the rooms a little bit better.

The staff are lovely and the hotel was on the main strip. The hotel is clean. We got the micro-king which we didn’t realise was a king bed in a micro-room. So the sink is next to the bed.

The shower didn’t get hotter than room temperature and the frosted glass bathroom door didn’t close. There was no one around to raise the issue in the evening. But when I raised the issue in the morning as we were checking out, the staff etc knew about the frosted door being broken.

Nope - cannot recommend. Missed the mark on two very impactful aspects - bathroom and bedding. The bathroom set up is strange with the toilet separate on the other side of the hall (with no sink!) and the shower and double sink on the other side of the hallway. Now for the shower... took over 5 minutes to go from icy cold and then watch out - scorching hot and nearly impossible to get it just right, without going back to ice old again. The pressure was kind of lacking as well. Now sleep quality - again - big miss! The bed was comfortable enough however; they seem to use cheapo microfiber sheets. And the most frustrating part was the bottom sheet continued to pull up away from the mattress all night long! Not the restful respite we were looking for while in town for a wedding. We've traveled extensively and this hotel is one of the poorest price/quality ratios we've encountered. The hotel staff were friendly enough however, no one has contacted me regarding my feedback to their survey- other than very rote, AI generated "we're so sorry blah blah blah". Don't ask the question if you don't want to deal with the response... My advice - look elsewhere.
