Fabulous dog friendly hotel Definitely recommended by our French Bulldog
Lovely old house and a beautiful setting. Excellent breakfast excellent service. Only negative was the plumbing was relatively poor. Could also have used a few more electric outlets to charge up all of our devices!
Great
What a charming B&B! A total surprise. It’s tucked in a beautiful farmland, yet very close to towns and cities. Svetlana kindly upgraded our room to a suit. Everything was perfect. The breakfast has many options with freshly baked scones, French omelet, pancakes, oatmeal and other goodies. We enjoyed our stay and strongly recommend the Clone House.
Superub building lovingly restored and wonderful garden. A combination of classic and quirky.
Excellent, comfortable, clean , friendly helpful staff and great breakfast
Jeff was a great host breakfast was excellent and a beautiful Charming old house
We were exhausted after a long flight and driving day. We were quickly checked in and could rest. We had a wonderful recovery sleep. Location is very quiet which i like.
Excellent atmosphere, with an extremely friendly and attentive staff. The owner is very kind and hospitable. The room is charming, perfect for couples looking to enjoy a romantic moment or celebrate their honeymoon. We are looking forward to returning soon.
Great stay! Super nice hosts and the place is beyond beautiful!
We loved our stay at the historic Clone House! The room was beautiful and cozy. Felt welcomed by the staff and the breakfast was delicious. It ended up being a last minute booking as our previous booking canceled and this was our favorite stay in Ireland by far!
Amazing old building with beautiful surroundings. Lovely breakfast.
This is a restored house out in the country, a very peaceful setting with a beautiful garden. The room was clean and bed comfortable. It is owned by a man from California who didn't introduce himself until the morning we were leaving. His wife showed us to our room with very minimal introduction. There was really no place to open a suitcase or store anything outside the suitcase in terms of shelves. There was a closet but it only had 2 or 3 hangers and again no place to put our things. So we ended up with our suitcases on the floor and trying to just get things out of there. There was a huge tub which took up the majority of the space in the bathroom so the shower and toilet areas were tiny. There was no shampoo or solid soap available. The breakfast was just ok. The fresh cooked omelet was good but the porridge tasted very stale and the fruit salad looked like it had been reused for a few days. For the price we paid (around $260 and after peak season), I felt it was very overpriced.
Very friendly but not intrusively so. Authentic - but comfortable. Great bath. A breakfast menu that should surely please everyone.
Beautiful and quiet! Breakfast was amazing and the House and gardens were so serene!
Lovely property in middle of no where. All very comfortable
We had a wonderful stay at Clone House! The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. It was relaxing being in the countryside. The breakfast was also delicious!
Lovely country estate. Gardens were beautiful, breakfast amazing and the dogs were so sweet! Host was lovely also! Would come back in a heartbeat!
This historic property is in a beautiful setting but I would recommend driving to it via the town of Woodenbridge. Coming from the other direction is long and tedious. The owners were very helpful, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and filling. The plumbing needs some attention. The shower had little pressure and we could not get hot water from it and the sink faucets leaked.
Perfect location in the middle of the countryside, lovely rooms and service. Very pet friendly which was a real treat for us and our Retriever. We were able to work for a few hours during the day, and get our morning and evening walks in the gardens and wider countryside. Looking forward to the next trip back already.
Amazing stay. House and yard were beautiful. Owner was very hospitable and the house pups are lovely. Would recommend you stay for a few nights to really enjoy the home. When I return to Ireland it’ll be top on my list for accommodations.
Fantastic stay. we arrived late but Jeff was ready for us. Greatly appreciate everything about the hotel and the staff friendliness. We were able to see the beautiful grounds in the morning and it was fabulous. The breakfast was great and very good. Wish we had planned on being in this area longer as the place is worth the visit.
Absolutely peaceful, beautiful property and those Airedales just made our stay ten times more memorable. Svetlana and Jeff do a great job making you feel right at home in this gorgeous property. It is away from towns which is what we needed after three days in Dublin. BUT! Don’t let this fool you as we had the best meal at the Woodenbridge Hotel (8 min drive)… so you have options. Lovely place!
Picturesque! Lovely landscaping and area's to explore and relax. Breakfast was wonderful, fresh, delicious. Max was a delight.
Eclectic property in the middle of nowhere with beautiful grounds, and great accommodations. Room as spacious and clean with a great view of the gardens. Loved that there were no TVs. Great deck lounge chairs! Very nice breakfast as well. We really enjoyed our stay.
Clone House set in the most peaceful part of the forest was a pleasure to stay in. It was very clean and the room was beautiful. The gardens were absolutely stunning. We had a lovely two dsys there and would recommend it to get away from the norm
Lovely old home- so much character. Breakfast was made to order and service was wonderful!
Amazing owner who ensured that our stay was comfortable and even mailed us our sunglasses we forgot there!
Such a wonderful experience staying in such a beautiful stately manor. Jeff and Svetlana were wonderful hosts.
Pretty much in the middle of nowhere Great breakfast & comfortable bed
The beautiful garden The home stadging Wow for the ancestry house Very good breakfast
My wife and I stayed for two nights. We found the house lovely and quiet. A little bit off the beaten track, but all the nicer for that, and perfect for our needs, with just the right ambiance. Lovely gardens, and friendly and helpful owner made for a really nice stay.
Big old isolated property. Wonderful breakfast, but problems with hot water
It was a Bed and Breakfast in a quiet and lovely location. We had to leave before breakfast but the proprietors were more than willing to provide. We were sorry we could not take advantage.
Lovely spacious room with a gorgeous bathroom. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Friendly service and great breakfast
We stayed here for three nights. Part if its charm is that it is off the beaten track. Beautiful house and gardens. Quiet and relaxing, comfortable room. The shower was barely adequate but this is an old building. We had problems with a duff hire car but the owner and staff were very helpful. Great hospitality. Recommended.
Stayed here just one night. The property is a little hard to find but once there, you are greeted by the best dogs ever! The property is nice, although parts need a lot of tending/work. The room was fine. It was very clean, which is most important. However, we booked a room for 3 (one child) the cot provided for a 12 y.o had seem much better days. It was more like an army cot. Breakfast was terrific and the hostess was lovely. Not much to do around there but it is a beautiful part of the world.
Seemed in needs of updates
We loved the charming atmosphere of Clone House. The decor was lovely , our room and bathroom we're clean and comfortable, and the grounds had well maintained gardens with several peaceful areas to sit to take in the beautiful countryside. Breakfast was wonderful with several choices daily. Fresh pressed coffee, homemade scones and fresh fruit and yogurt on top of what you ordered, made a great start to the day. The host was friendly and willing to recommend local spots for sightseeing and dining. We highly recommend Clone House and would rebook here the next time we come to Ireland!
Great peacefully old country house stay, really clean and tidy with friendly staff and great homemade breakfast definitely would recommend and stay again.
Stay was ok, old properties require lots of maintenance which was lacking here. Toilet seat only fixed one side, pull cord for light too short - wife unable to reach it, bath overflow Heath Robinson, outside decor very poor. Main problem for us was room not serviced on one day of our stay. Many people will not be used to old properties and aware of the indoor window shutters (no curtains) and whereas we were fine an explanation would have been nice. On the plus side a great deal of work is being done in the gardens and there are lots of seats in different locations, breakfasts were good with good products. Very peaceful, comfortable lounge. The property has great potential and as work progresses it will become a really nice and fascinating place to stay
Lovely restored manor.
Public rooms were amazing. The bedroom was appealing to look at but not very comfortable or practical. Service was off-hand.
Seems a nice old house but I'm afraid without any heat the room is extremely cold and damp. My wife and I decided not to stay as there was no way that the place could be brought to a level of heat and comfort that would ensure that we could get a nights sleep. In fact we felt that stay in winter time in the room could damagfe outr health. We informed the owner of our decision to leave and felt that some form of reduction in charge seeing that we would not be about for breakfast might be forcoming. We were wrong. It might be oaky in Summer time.
Very peacfull and quiet location.
Very charming hotel in a beautiful setting.
Toilet light didn't work. Floor paint flaked off onto bare feet in the bedroom. No one around when arriving or leaving. Had to wander around to find the host. Building needs a tidy up and a paint. Beautiful setting.
An oasis of calm. Pets can stay in your room. Grounds are beautifully laid out with benches in ldyllic locations around the extensive grounds. Breakfast was excellent. Hosts friendly and helpful.
Loved our stay at Clone House. We spent 3 days here with our little pet dog. Staff very friendly, professional and willing to help meet any of our needs. Quiet, relaxing stay at Clone House and a short drive to lots of amenities in the surrounding region. We were lucky enough to be offered an optional in-house dinning experience which was fantastic. Clone House is perfect for anyone looking for a pet friendly get-away.
Beautiful house and setting. I had an early start for work the next morning but got up an hour early to take advantage of the walks around the grounds. Loved the bath tub though didn’t use it.
I had a lovely stay at Clone House! I wish I could have stayed longer than one night. My host, was warm and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, I had the mini Irish breakfast and pancakes. I would recommend staying here and would definitely return.
Jeff the owner was an excellent host and location is beautiful. Exterior did not quite live up to online images however. We were also disappointed to find out on arrival we had to pay a €20 supplement for bringing our dog to this dog friendly venue.
We had an amazing stay at Clone House. The house is beautifully maintained and has such an authentic feel. I will definitely be returning.
Room was small and property needs upgrades. Not very close to town. Heard noise from outside room when other people there.
Such a beautiful view with stunning rooms excellent breakfast in a great location looking up to the stunning view of mountains very comfortable beds spotless bedding loved it will come again
This was a beautiful, secluded property. A cooked to order breakfast was included. The house, grounds and garden were lovely. The hostess was warm and helpful.
Probably the best place we stayed in Ireland, thanks to incredible hospitality from Svetlana. What a fantastically helpful host!
Very welcoming hosts You can tell that this place has heart and soul put into it👍 Spectacular views, peaceful Amazing breakfasts,
Clone House was perfect for an overnight stay; perfectly placed in the country. It was great to stay in an older country property that has been lovingly maintained.
Excellent service and breakfast, superb house. The bed could be a bit more comfortable.
Loved our stay. Wish it was longer. Recommend the pancakes.
It was very beautiful and staff and other guests were great to interact with
The property alone is great, but so is the service. We got in semi late and the signs are harder to see at night but we eventually found our way there. Breakfast was delicious and the two dogs there are adorable. I would definitely recommend.
Delectable
We just loved our stay at Clone house. It was a real treat to stay at this most beautiful stately manor. The rooms are all superbly decorated to give that authentic look. The bed was so comfy and the breakfast deliciously hand prepared. Would highly recommend this property
Lovely welcome. We had the most beautiful room with a fab en suite. Love the gardens and the peace and quiet. Beautifully restored and definitely my go-to place for a pick-me-up.
Our stay was short but good. Some of the decor was a bit outdated but the home overall was nice and the surrounding area was beautiful. The only negative was breakfast was served kind of late and when we got down there it was completely full with no room for us so we just left.
We stayed 3 comfortable nights. Host and staff were very accommodating. We wanted to take the hotel dog Max home with us he was so nice (and we are not dog people)
We had a very nice night here, The location is beautiful. A little far from things but found a nice Pub about 10 miles away so it worked out.
Beautiful setting 3.5 km from a quaint village - very peaceful setting - an incredible historic estate home full of gorgeous antique furniture with beautiful gardens - excellent Host and tasty full breakfast! Would recommend this in a heartbeat !!
If you want some country charm this is your place, slightly out of town in a beautiful quiet setting, this house oozes charm, great friendly check in as we got there late around 9.30 pm, rooms are just huge! Very quiet and peaceful night, absolutely fantastic full breakfast in the morning, this place is fantastic value for money, wished we could of stayed another night! Our only complaints would be that the bed could of been better, the mattress did dip a bit in the middle and definitely needs replacing and the water in the shower was blocked and took a while to go down, other than that I would recommended this place!
We truly enjoyed our couple of days there. Need to remember that this is a large estate home dating back to the early 1800s that is situated out in the quiet country which we cherished. Also, we enjoyed going on long walks as well as having an evening glass of wine in the large parlour surrounded by antique furniture. The mornings were served with a full breakfast of your choice.
house was difficult to find; picture looks nothing like the actual house or grounds; very old farmhouse in need of serious upgrades;
The hotel and facilities were great. My only negative comment is on the directions to get to the house. Better directions would have really helped. The link takes you to the town, not the beautiful b & b.
Lovely living room for guests to meet and chat. Great breakfast and hosts. The dog was an added bonus.
Because the house is such an old building room stay very noisy, can here people walk, talking and other things. We could hear the noise of all the showers from 6am until 9am. This mean we did not sleep very well. If you are late up from bed in the morninng you could be left with no hot water.
Would stay again in a minute. Beautiful room overlooking garden. Delicious cooked breakfast.
