Surf Motel

The surf motel lives up to its name: a great location, just a few steps from the beach, plus it's comfortable, clean, and altogether delightful. Highly recommended.

Everything was as described. No complaints.

The room was clean, the sea breeze and the deck looking towards the sea,the quietness and the shops being a walking distance to the house. However it is really a last minute resort.

The parking space is very limited and if you driving a big car it is very hard to menoviour. It only allows 5 cars in the yard only. TV quality is bad even with the WiFi connection the picture is blurry.

Nokwanda was the main communicator during our stay. She is very helpful and friendly. She made us feel at home even before we arrived. The staff was amazing. The view from our room was beautiful and the deck made the sunrise watching even more special. Going to sleep every night, listening to the ocean rumbling felt like a dream. Perfect place to stay just across the road from the ocean. I will definitely be visiting again.

The staff were super friendly. The location was fantastic. You get exactly what you expect, it's quite basic but in the best way. Everything worked perfectly, the rooms had air-conditioning.

The parking situation was a bit tough, but not unmanageable.

Beautiful accommodation which was cleaned daily, right on the beach. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Nothing, we were happy with our stay

The manager was so kind and helpful. My friend and I got there a couple of hours before check-in time. He kept our bags for us in his office while we went out for lunch and explored the area, and we found our bags safely in our room when we got back. Overall it was a lovely experience.

Proximity to the beach is second to none.

Location is perfect, everything was within walking distance. The view of the beach was very both beatitufl and relaxing. The locals were very friendly and approachable. My partner and I felt very safe and comfortable.

Everything met our expectation. There was nothing to dislike.

Very conveniently situated right on the beach. Simple, clean and easy.

We loved the location- close to the beach and lovely restaurants. (Bear in mind the current is very strong so you only paddle unless you’re in a safe designated swimming spot) I strongly recommend Tasca pizza - their empress pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.

The roof leaked under the deck when we had a braai in the pouring rain

Hi. Only think going is the location. Owner used every inch for rondawals. Not the most confutable beds, no kitchen. There is a communal one outside. The gate system suck. I think they charge too much for what they offer.

They need to invest more in their beds, kitchen and overall comfort for the visitors. They are able to for the amount they charge. Location s great directly opposite beach but you don't see it at all.

Only 1 bathroom which is in the room and have to disturb the person sleeping to use the bathroom. The doors of the rooms are not nice.

Location was excellent, loved the outdoor relaxing area, there were extra things given that made the stay lovely, eg body wash, sweets, tea and coffee, Netflix

The apartment overall could have been cleaned better, the inside of the microwave was dirty, the paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling off onto the floor, dirt on the fridge handles

Location was perfect, check‑in so easy it felt suspiciously magical, staff were friendly enough to make me wonder if they were secretly angels, and the room was clean, comfortable, and smelled like heaven had a linen closet.

One extra hook in the bathroom would have saved me from inventing “towel origami.”

Proximity to the beach and the friendliness of the staff. The fact they allowed dogs and an early check in added to the great experience. Aircon was a bonus and the view from the balcony of the ocean was spectacular.

Very clean. Has self catering facilities but just a walk down the road will get you to some excellent restaurants. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We felt deeply welcomed. Location is brilliant. Close to airport and 50m from the beautiful Umdloti beach. 😍

The place however was not well equiped not even a can opener and lacked maintenance the kitchen cupboard doors hanged loose, back door struggled to open and ceiling fans were not cleaned in 6 years. Moreover not pet friendly as no place to let dogs go out without being in street. Limited parking being parked in at night.

The appliances are too old fridge,stove and microwave. Behind the bed and shelves there was spider webs e even after they clean my room.

I accept that there is a challenge caused by humidity, however the property owner should invest in proper ventilation. The one room did not even have a window in the bathroom. The musty smell is overwhelming especially when you open the cupboards. The cutlery was dirty and there was sand in the bed, which means the sheets were probably not changed
