From the moment I arrived, the welcoming ambiance and impeccable cleanliness set the tone for a fantastic stay. The staff truly made all the difference; their warmth and professionalism were evident in every interaction. Whether it was the front desk team efficiently checking me in or the concierge offering personalized recommendations, each member went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. There are five-star hotels, and then there are places that quietly redefine what five-star hospitality is supposed to feel like. Im a doctor, and my wife and I came here on our honeymoon, a rare opportunity for me to switch off completely. From the moment we arrived, it became apparent that this wasn’t going to be an ordinary hotel stay. We stayed in Villa 17, and I genuinely struggle to imagine how it could have been better. When we entered, the villa had been beautifully decorated for our honeymoon. But it wasn’t simply the decoration that stayed with us. It was the details. The little touches. Even the personalised “His” and “Hers” pillows waiting for us. None of it felt performative or done simply because this was a special occasion. It felt thoughtful. And that, I think, is the secret of this property: attention to detail matters here. The service is not merely responsive. It is anticipatory. There is an enormous difference between staff responding brilliantly when you ask for something and staff somehow knowing what you might want before you have even thought to ask. Here, it was consistently the latter. There is an almost effortless rhythm to the service, things simply happen around you, quietly and precisely. And then there was Sara. Calling Sara our butler somehow doesn’t feel quite right. By the end of our stay, I would rather describe her as our friend and companion. She added immeasurably to our experience, arranging everything with such warmth and sincerity, including our mangrove tour, and somehow always appearing when we needed something while never once making the service feel intrusive. That balance is incredibly difficult to achieve. Something that Gilli Lankafushi in Maldives failed. The food was equally exceptional. We tried most of the restaurants during our stay and, remarkably, there wasn’t a weak meal among them. Different settings, different menus, yet the same consistency in quality and execution every single time.

Before our stay, I mentioned that my husband was recovering from cancer, and the team left a personalised card in our room. It was such a thoughtful and meaningful gesture that made us both very emotional. That level of care went far beyond what we expected and showed the genuine warmth and attention the Ritz-Carlton is known for. We would also like to especially mention Sohail, the restaurant manager at Horizon Restaurant. He was genuine, honest and welcoming, and the service we received was impeccable. His care and professionalism really stood out. The resort itself was beautiful and peaceful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so relaxing, emotional and unforgettable.

The only minor feedback is that the room could benefit from some repairs and maintenance in certain areas. However, this did not take away from the overall experience.

Beautiful resort! The rooms/villas are stunning, and super comfortable. There is a 24/7 buggy service to transport you around. The staff are exceptional and there to meet all your needs with a great attention to detail. The food is absolutely delicious, with a great variety.

The grounds of the resort are stunning! It's a lot larger than I imagined and there is a nice range of activities to do around the resort, all of which are relaxing. The food, sensational. The service, excellent! The ocean view villas are stunning, spacious and private. I look forward to a rain Forrest villa next time as the pool may be a little cooler and have more protection during the day in the canopy of the Forrest and not in the direct sun.

Das persönliche, vom ankommen in der Rezeption über das essen in einen von den Restaurant. Es hat einfach alles geklappt wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten abschalten. Santosh hat uns jeden Abend mit einer Kleinigkeit im Zimmer verzaubert.

Das Personal war überfordert beim Frühstück, das wars aber grundsätzlich.

Unser Aufenthalt war einfach magisch. Die Villa am Meer hat all unsere Erwartungen übertroffen und ließ mit ihrer hervorragenden Ausstattung keine Wünsche offen. Das gesamte Resort ist wunderschön gestaltet, und auch die Tiere – insbesondere die Affen – haben den Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Alles war jederzeit sehr sauber und äußerst gepflegt. Das Frühstück war absolut herausragend und bot eine beeindruckend große Auswahl an verschiedensten Speisen. Darüber hinaus haben wir in allen Restaurants des Resorts gegessen und können jedes einzelne uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Vollkommen perfekt wurde unser Aufenthalt durch das gesamte Personal, das uns mit außergewöhnlicher Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit begegnet ist. Ein ganz besonderer Dank gilt unserem Butler Fazly, der unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht hat. Unser Honeymoon war ein absoluter Traum – herzlichen Dank an das gesamte Team!

Lovely interiors for both apartment and villas. Overwater villas are perfectly designed. Better than ones in maldives. Recommend booking villa if you can stretch to it. Staff perfect.

Compared to four seasons and datai less flow as you walk through the resort. Walking to breakfast is a pleasure for the other two. Get a buggy if going from your villa.

Un grand merci à Julien qui travaillait au restaurant l’Horizon pour son professionnalisme, sa gentillesse et son efficacité. Le petit-déjeuner était exceptionnel et les repas étaient excellents. Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel.

Me gustó todo, no puedo ponerle un pero a nada, el hotel es excepcional, y el personal es, aun si cabe, mejor que las instalaciones, siempre estan dispuestos a ayudar y a complacer, con una gran sonrisa, todos y cada uno de ellos se desviven para que te estancia sea inolvidable, y lo consiguen con creces! Súper detallistas, todo con mucho mimo, son absolutamente maravillosos!

I recently stayed at the resort for 4 nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far below expectations due to a serious issue with the air conditioning in my room. On the 24th, I reported to the front office that the AC was not working properly. I was told the issue had been fixed, but the next day (25th), the situation remained unchanged. I reported it again and specifically requested that an engineer check the unit while I was present in the room. An engineer did arrive around 10 PM and measured the room temperature at 23°C, even though the thermostat was set to 18°C. He claimed to have fixed the issue and advised it would take 15–30 minutes to cool down. However, there was no improvement at all. Considering this was at night, you can imagine how uncomfortable the room must have been during the daytime. The problem persisted for the remainder of my stay. In fact, on the morning of my checkout at 7 AM, a staff member who came to collect my luggage even commented that the room felt hot. What is most frustrating is that after I checked out, I received an email from the hotel apologizing and stating that “immediate action” had been taken based on my feedback. This raises a serious question: why was this urgency not shown during the three nights I was actively reporting the issue? Instead of enjoying my room, I ended up spending my afternoons in the spa just to escape the heat and find a comfortable environment. This experience was extremely disappointing, especially for a property that claims to be a 5-star resort. I hope management takes guest concerns more seriously in the future and ensures timely and effective resolution of such basic issues.

Location is amazing, not far from airport, and close to all landmarks of island. We got a villa 2 which is with ocean view, it was amazing! Cleanliness, service 5 out of 5. Special thanks to our butler Anas! This young and dedicated to his work man made our staying there special and valuable, starting from welcome day till end of our journey 24/7. This man really amazed me and my family.

For the price that you are paying, the service was extremely lackluster, the restaurants and food were above average. If the service improves, then perhaps the overall stay would have been amazing.

Tout petit B-mol : Les différents restos sont bons Très grand plus pour «  horizon » Les autres manquent parfois de reliefs ; de saveurs … parfois assez neutres , basiques … ET surtout ; unique défaut : Fermetures des restos beaucoup trop tôt… (10h30 )on nous mets parfois dehors à la limite … c’est le ressenti !!

A hotel csodálatos környezetben található, taxival (ami nagyon olcsó) minden látnivaló könnyen megközelíthető. Kiemelném a személyzet kedvességét, a finom reggelit, a Horizon beach bár és a Grill bár ételeit, italait. Semmi negatívat nem tudok mondani.

Breakfast was good, the amenities were excellent especially for kids they had a diaper bin, kids toiletries, a cot with a bumper and toys lots of things you’d need to travel with babies or kids.

This hotel was amazing, I’d recommend to anyone the hotel room and the spa were to die for!! We will definitely be coming back!

- big and nice decor room. - sunset views at the beach and adults pool. - hai Yan Chinese restaurant with great decor and food quality. Maybe the hotel should direct more people and improving the breakfast at this place. - nice service. - great bath amenities. - amazing cleaning service by our house cleaner Mr Khadga. Thank you!! Everyday was perfect clean and the bug issues previously refered were not due to lack of cleanliness but to lack of building or sewer isolation. - Jenie and Fan were also top notch staff!! In the end this a resort with a lot going for it and a lot going against it and lots of things could be improved.. (beach area, pools area much bigger, more activities, better decor, rooms renovation..). Luxury is in the details, and details are just not here.. at least for now...

Negatives: - some ants and even a coackroach was found on the bathroom. This is an isolation or poor repelent condition that should be improved. - condition bathroom - broken tiles, rusty finishes, dirty outside windows. - main pool crazy white paint dissolving in the water.  Main pool layout very cramped and not elegant. - horizon bar should be totally renovated. Ugly decor. - better plants layout to cover some areas. - lack of complementary activities. By the third day everyone was bored. - very bad smell in the reception lobby due to strange plant scent selection in this area. - bed very soft - breakfast repetitive. Big lines to enter breakfast ate pick hours. Egg station lacking quality every single day! Fruit station lacking options and most unripe everytime. Too much focus on curries recipes. - buggies taking too long and not well distributed through the property. - beach grill decor lacking and not elegant. - library with few books. - sewer smell around horizon bar backwards.

This hotel really is everything and more. From arrival, right through to checkout, the place and the staff totally exceeded our expectations. We were warmly welcomed on arrival with a drink and snacks, and then taken to our room via buggy. The room was decorated for our honeymoon, which was a lovely touch. And wow, the room- gorgeous! and it wasn't even one of the suites! The room was cleaned daily and kind, sweet touches were left. The facilities at the hotel are great. We used the gym and the adults pool which were great! The grounds are kept immaculate. The private beach is stunning and we hired out paddle boards for a reasonable price. Kayaks also available. The spa was also a lovely treat. The breakfast was superb- so much choice from the buffet, but also an option to order from a menu. Just watch out for those cheeky monkeys who like to steal your food!! The choice of restaurants and food options is fab, and the sunsets from Horizon, beach grill and Hai yan are really special. The staff at The Ritz Carlton really can't do enough for you, and nothing is too much trouble. The service was excellent and we can't recommend this place enough! A truly special place that we will always remember.

My husband and I loved everything here! From the moment you enter the lobby to the transition to the rooms, and the overall experience of staying at Ritz Carlton - it’s simply a dream and a delight. The staff were always smiling and were ever so caring and helpful. The hospitality of Mimi and Saifuddin (and so many other staff members but didn’t catch their names) are unmatched. If you’re looking for the perfect stay in Langkawi, look no further!

Loved everything!

The beautifully landscaped gardens, stunning architecture, and outstanding facilities made the resort exceptional. The infinity pool, beach, restaurants, and bars were all superb, but what truly set the property apart was the staff. Their warmth, professionalism, and incredible attention to detail made our stay unforgettable.

The room could have benefited from the use of deodorisers or a fresher scent. Aside from this small detail, everything else met or exceeded our expectations.

The combination of rain forest and beach was amazing and to have so many restaurants, activities and a private beach on the property was exceptional

Great setting and beautiful grounds surrounded by nature. The gym was excellent and open 24/7. Food was generally good and the pool bar was enjoyable

We experienced constant issues with the rooms (111/112). In room 111 something broke almost every day: AC not working, then the TV, then a water/tap issue, which meant repeated late maintenance visits. Before departure, room 112 had a non-working phone, making it hard to contact reception/buggy service. Despite these repeated problems, there was no meaningful service recovery (no upgrade/compensation). The assigned butler (Nargis) was not proactive: no direct contact, no check-ins, no help with bookings, and late check-out was initially treated as potentially chargeable even though our transfer was at 15:00. Sunbeds were limited (often difficult to find loungers at the adults’ pool) and breakfast could be crowded with queues

Overall, our stay was satisfactory. However, there was an incident where housekeeping was cleaning our villa and I waited outside by the pool during the process. After the cleaning was completed, the glass door was locked without informing me. This caused some inconvenience for me, as I had to proceed to the reception area (abit far from our villa) to request a room key card since my phone was left inside the villa.
