Excellent lication, central and near nice places to drink and eat. Friendly staff.

The location is great

Generally the hotel is very catered towards tourists and kind of mimics everything that a proper japanese Ryokan would have but in a cheaper and worse way. The onsen is not very welcoming without light etc., the Yukatas looked like cheap Pyjamas and the lobby follows that pattern. Also, the check in procedure took significantly too long (about 45 minutes for reading everyone through a sheet that could have been attached to a mail). Some of the staff members were nice, others weren't. Also definitely not up to the standard I would expect from a japanese Hotel.

The location is great with restaurants and bus stops within walking distance.

There are only 2 washers and 2 dryers for the entire hotel. That was not nearly enough. People were waiting 10 deep to use the washer and dryers. Not good. There was one man on staff that was not friendly but the rest were.

Einfach alles! Ich hatte eine wunderbare Zeit im Kyoto Grandbell Hotel! Das Zimmer war schön und sauber, die Mitarbeitenden freundlich und der Onsen super! Auch die Lage ist einfach perfekt!

Wenn ich wirklich etwas suchen müsste, dann würde ich mir eine Waschmaschine samt Trocknungs-Bad im Zimmer wünschen. Das hatte ich nun in einigen Hotels und fand das super praktisch.

Toilet smelt of old urine and even after an extra cleaning remained smelly- very disappointing Very little gluten free food- disappointing for the price I paid for my breakfast. ( get gyosas for gf shop in the same street instead!

We absolutely loved the location! It was so convenient being close to the station and within easy walking distance of so many fantastic bars and restaurants. It made exploring the city incredibly easy and enjoyable.

The only drawback for us was the size of the room. It was quite compact, which made it a little difficult to comfortably fit our belongings and move around, especially during a longer stay.

Rommet er litt trangt hvis du har mye baggasje. Litt klamt på rommet.

Le onsen de l'hôtel était magnifique ! La situation parfaite dans le quartier de Gion. La possibilité de faire une lessive avec les machines à laver et à sécher.

Le lit king size placé devant la fenêtre et qui touchait les deux murs de la chambre, ce qui n'était pas très pratique. La chambre twin de nos enfants était plus grande et plus agréable.

superbe emplacement au coeur de Gion. Les petits-déjeuners offrent le traditionnel japonais, ce qui est fantastique. Et malgré la chaleur intense en juin, les bains onsen étaient très appréciés.

Le pas de place pour les valises dans la chambre ça c'est quand même pas hyper pratique mais on s'est débrouillé, en mettant la table sur le 'canapé' ça fait un peu plus d'espace, d'ailleurs je pense que celui ci est inutile et du coup l'espace de la chambre pourrait être agrandi s'il n'était pas là. Un espace fumeur en extérieur aurait été appréciable mais bon je n'ai qu'a pas fumer vous me direz 😜. Un jus de fruit frais le matin aussi serait appréciable car les jus en bricks.....

Great location, very close to the metro and bus stops. Friendly staff. Clean property with lots of nice touches: free coffee, water, microwave, amenities etc. Buffet breakfast was nice, lots of choices.

The rooms didn’t have much storage. We had two single beds and a sofa in between the beds. No table or anywhere to put things in the room. Would have benefited from some hooks or side tables.

京都グランベルホテルには大浴場が有るので期待して行ったのですが、部屋に置いてある部屋着がワンサイズな上に丈が長すぎて、引きずってしまう有り様でした。小さなサイズも、丈上げする紐も無いと言われ、結局大浴場は一度も利用しませんでした。 これなら、大浴場は無いけれど、洗い場付きのバスの有る京都グランベルホテルhanareyaの方が、快適だったな〜と思いました。 立地的には、満足でしたが、、大浴場が使えなかったのは残念でした。

L’hotel si trova in una posizione davvero comoda, ideale per visitare la città e spostarsi facilmente. La struttura è pulita e ben tenuta, e il personale è stato cordiale.

La camera era pulita e confortevole, anche se un po’ piccola. Va comunque considerato che si tratta di dimensioni abbastanza comuni per gli standard giapponesi. Per quanto riguarda la colazione, l’ho trovata buona, ma per un hotel 4 stelle mi sarei aspettato qualcosa in più in termini di varietà e scelta, magari con qualche proposta aggiuntiva sia dolce che salata.

Camera non grandissima ma letto finalmente molto grande, comodo ed accogliente. Posizione hotel molto buona.

Nos encantó este alojamiento, la estética, la ubicación, las habitaciones, la enorme cama que agradecimos muchísimo después de las horas caminando, la habitación era muy bonita. El personal súper atento y agradable.

The room in the basement smelled musty

Die Lage ist gut. Man kann viel zu Fuß erreichen. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Unser erstes Zimmer hat stark nach Feuchtigkeit gerochen. Wir konnten daraufhin in ein anderes Zimmer ziehen. Doch auch in diesem Zimmer war es sehr feucht und hat nach Keller gerochen. Wir haben uns daraufhin einen kostenlosen Luftreiniger leihen können. Dieser hat etwas geholfen, jedoch musste er die ganze Zeit über laufen und ein muffiger Geruch blieb bestehen.

We arrived to the most friendly welcoming staff, all of whom were incredibly helpful with recommendations for sightseeing and good food. Shout out to Jay and Takeshi, who looked after us at the bar and gave us some fabulous recommendations.

La musique pop trop forte le matin au petit-déjeuner. La clientèle de l'hôtel un peu trop occidental à notre goût.

Close to two different metro stations and all bus stops. Amazing location to explore Kyoto. The staff was so friendly and willing to help. The bathhouse was so clean and tattoo friendly.

A lovely property in the heart of Gion, a lovely cosy hotel, great restaurant, a comfortable and very inviting lobby, friendly and welcoming staff. Spacious and cosy rooms.

The public bath atmosphere felt cold and lonely.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at! It was beautiful, modern, great value, great location, polite staff, comfortable beds, modern bathroom with all the features- nice shower pressure, mirror that doesn’t fog, bidet, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in shower, etc. In the lobby, there is a little table where you can learn how to fold origami, pick up some free treats like local candies, and there was free little sunblock packets, face masks, brushes, and toiletries that maybe you had forgotten. Did I mention free coffee and tea all day as well? What a nice perk! The front staff was very polite and went out of their way for my family. They called us a taxi when we needed one, they held the elevator open for us, they held our luggage for us when our room wasn’t ready and we wanted to go explore the city. :-) My teenage daughter had her own room and my husband and I were right next-door to her on the basement level and it was very cozy. I can’t believe we had two rooms for three nights each for only $800 total. What a bargain! :-) Great place!!!

The hotel is beautifully decorated. It was a treat to spend time there.. I Loved the fragrant onsen and the security door on the women's onsen. Location was perfect for Exploring temples and getting to Public transport. One of my fav hotels!!

Beautiful decor. It is well located. Easy walks to the Higashiyama area and along the river. Great eating locations nearby. An easy taxi ride from the Kyoto Station if you don't want to lug your suitcases on public transport. There was a lovely selection of freebies in the Reception lounge including tea, coffee, snacks, face masks, sunscreen saches, and origami paper with instructions. Our room was very comfortable.

There weren't any USB ports in our room, but we were able to borrow an adaptor from Reception.

Excellent location and beautiful, relaxing ambience. Quiet and peaceful with great facilities, in the middle of Gion district.

The hotel is in an excellent position, a few meters from the main streets of Gion and the Kamo river, and very close to Nishiki market and Pontocho alley. I really liked the style, a fine mix between modern and traditional, which is also reflected in the room we had, which featured tatamis and a normal bed. Pola toiletries are a nice touch, I personally love them. Hotel cleanliness is by Japanese standards, great!Breakfast has a wide array of asian style food plus something more western. Attentive staff, and the older bartender was a nice plus. He really made us feel welcomed.

Nothing negative to say, maybe the beds in the normal rooms are on the narrow side, but I've experienced worse in the same hotel category in Japan.

Great location - perfect for exploring Gion. So glad we chose this location in Kyoto. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Loved the little bar and the staff for pre dinner drinks in the evening.

Rooms are small but expected for such a great location.
