Fantastic location and rooms! The property was literally a 1min walk from the train station!! It was close to Gion and Nishiki Market!! Lots of shops and restaurants nearby our biggest dilemma was choosing where to eat with all the options available! Would definitely recommend to everyone visiting Kyoto and wants to be central to everything especially with young kids.

Perfect location, in the middle of Kawaramachi, but without any noise. Rooms are clean spacious and comfortable. Onsen was awesome and well maintained. Loved the smell of incence when entering the reception.

Literalmente todo, el hotel es precioso, las habitaciones muy cómodas, teníamos buenas vistas de un templo desde la habitación. El personal también fue impecable durante toda la estancia. En muy buena zona, super cerca de Gion, de calles comerciales y de diversas paradas de autobus y tren que te llevan a cualquier sitio en Kyoto.

Le personnel (à l’accueil et en cuisine) au restaurant le matin était chaleureux et attentionné. Très bon déjeuner avec des options interessantes. Belle chambre confortable et spacieuse.

The room was very sizeable, the staff were exceptionally helpful. The auto check in QR code system made arrival very easy, and the fact that the onsen in the hotel was tattoo friendly was perfect for my wife and I. The housekeeping staff were amazing at their job. We never had predictable patterns in when we left the hotel or when we got back, but we were never bothered by housekeeping checks or cleaners. Somehow whenever we would return our bed would always be made and bathroom would be cleaned.

La ubicación es perfecta, esta en el centro pero es un lugar tranquilo, al lado hay un templo y también un cementerio que pertenece al templo, pero esto es algo normal en Japón, los cementerios están integrados en las ciudades. El onsen esta muy bien después de un día intenso de excursiones. Las habitaciones son amplias y muy limpias.

No hay nada negativo, todos fue perfecto.

Ondanks dat we een superieur kamer hadden, was er te weinig ruimte om twee koffers open te leggen. Maar dit was ook het geval bij de andere hotels waar we in Japan verbleven, dus verwacht dat dit overal zo is.

The staff was super friendly and helpful, the cleaning was prompt and quick, the location was right in the middle of everything you would want to do, and the Jasmine tea in the lobby was fire, my wife drank it literally every night. Highly recommend

La chambre assez petite pour le prix et peu pratique pour ouvrir et stocker les valises. Le prix du petit déjeuner. L'absence d'une laverie ou d'un service de lingerie.

Onsen top, stanza molto carina, bagno pulito e letto comodo. Posizione molto comoda, Staff molto gentile. Il public bath é davvero bello e ben organizzato, una gioia a fine giornata.

I had a decent view in this hotel and a nice stay. I liked the ambiance of the hotel and the breakfast was really good too. I liked the whole ordering a main dish and then a buffet added on. It was a bit smaller of a buffet too. Onsen was nice as well. The location was prime for shopping as you were within 3-5 minute walks to a lot of markets. The staff were nice they did forget about me asking for an iron but I eventually got one and he apologized for it.

I really wanted to go to the temple that’s next to the hotel cause my fiancée is a Buddhist as well but they weren’t accepting visitors. I could understand a bit that it’s touristy area but the temple was why I chose this place to stay at. Rooms were a bit smaller but I think it’s a decent place to stay.

Ubicación excelente. Hay innumerables restaurantes y tiendas a poca distancia, por lo que es una gran base para explorar Kioto. Onsen muy bueno.

Faltan enchufes usb y usb - c para conectar, al poner los adaptadores la velocidad de carga se ralentiza mucho.

We are on a mammoth trip across Asia with many hotel visits and I have to say the staff here were exceptional, they did everything they could to make your stay enjoyable and memorable and then helped us to ship our luggage on to Tokyo handling all the paperwork and calling ahead to confirm with the next hotel. We will definitely be back in Kyoto and will stay here again.

Nothing, the only suggestion to improve the Buddhist religious festival is if the staff facilitating the experience gives a short summary in English of the priests talk at the end of the ceremony.

Pokój niewielki - jak to w Japonii, ale nie brakowało nam miejsca. Pokój czysty i ładny, codziennie były wymieniane ręczniki. Na plus elementy japońskie jak zasłona do okna. Śniadanie przyjemne - zarówno japońskie jak i europejskie dania, obsługa sympatyczna. Widok z okna restauracji na świątynie i malutki cmentarz - nie jest to problem, miejsce jest bardzo klimatyczne i spokojne, z czarnym kotem przechadzającym się rano po świątyni. Bardzo designerski hol, przyjemna publiczna łaźnia. Obsługa pomocna, bardzo dobra lokalizacja, blisko do stacji, obok market, bardzo dużo miejsc w okolicy do zjedzenia.

The breakfast was delicious, and the hotel was very clean. I also enjoyed the large public bath and appreciated that the bathroom and toilet were separate. There are many shops and restaurants nearby, making the location very convenient.

Location was incredible, surrounded by great food - right next door to a City Bakery, Ramen place, and a stellar izakaya (Japanese only). It's really impressive how close to the busy shopping part of Kawaramachi this hotel was, but you couldn't tell the noise.

The website presents the hotel slightly better than reality, but fairly close. The wifi is not strong enough for the amount of visitors and we frequently could not connect. The rooms had extremely bright lights that were hard to make comfortable at night. The full length window was nice, but the sliding door made it extremely difficult for the second person in the bed.

La taille de la chambre est vraiment minuscule.m et étouffante. Pas de salle de bain, un cabine de douche en plein millieu de la chambre. Pas d'armoire pour ranger ses vêtements, donc ça devient vite le bazar. Impossible d'ouvrir la fenêtre pour aéré, donc les vive les odeurs de renfermé et d'humidité (car pas de salle de bain et nulle part pour étendre les serviettes mouillés).

The MGH Kawaramachi Jokyoji was a hidden gem for me for my 4-day Kyoto trip. It had practically everything to serve me: superb location (3 minute walk to the Kawaramachi subway access, and several department stores and lots of local restaurants nearby--but don't forget to book early!), marvelous service, excellent breakfast (I didn't try their unagi meal for dinner), helpful staff most of whom could speak English (if not, we could use Google Translate), very clean and spacious room, and, most impressive, the clean and quiet onsen with extended hours from 3 pm up to 10 am in the morning (meaning you can go in to soak your body in the evening and in the morning before breakfast!).

Despite everything fantastic, I was a little disappointed with the staff who was helpful in general but didn't know where the nearest Kawaramachi subway access was (diagonally across the Lawson (or 7/11 (?) convenience store--which was super busy at night!). I had to ask around at Takashimaya but it wasn't much troublesome. At night, the hotel front wasn't well lit, making me miss it the first day. And, lastly, since I asked for a room with a city view, they gave me one overlooking a cemetery of the Jokyoji Temple (we were asked to stay off the temple grounds)! I didn't request for another room; I just asked for some forgiveness from the spirits for being high above their grounds. And, I was glad that nothing bad happened to me at all. :-)))

Situación estratégica y habitacion muy amplia para ser Japón. El baño público ayuda mucho en la estancia, sobre todo cuando llegas de un día duro de caminata y te puedes permitir relajarte en el mismo sitio. Además en la entrada siempre ponen incienso de templo y era una delicia entrar todos los días.

Niet van toepassing

Situation géographique parfaite, au calme. Architecture et design impeccables. Chambre très confortable, petit déjeuner excellent en particulier le menu japonais proposé et Onsen dans l'hôtel! Hôtel parfait pour des vacances ou du business. L'endroit permet de venir facilement se rafraichir ou faire une pause dans la journée, c'est pratique!

Les heures d'ouverture du Onsen étaient un peu trop limitées à mon goût

La localisation de l'hôtel est excellente.

La mauvaise note est pour le petit déjeuner. L'offre pour un français n'est pas à la hauteur. Nous avons eu la désagréable impression que c'est rationné : pas de salade de fruits possible, la confiture coule à très petit flot, pas de yaourts, petits croissants fades. De plus la salle est trop petite pour le nombre de chambres ; il faut régulièrement patienter pour accéder a la salle. On nous désigne une table où s'installer (!!!) et on nous met la pression pour ne pas trainer par un débarassage partiel alors qu'on déjeune. Les 8 petits déjeuners dans cet hôtel ont été une expérience désagréable. Les 5 petits déjeuners à l'hôtel Shinjuku plaza de Tokyo juste avant étaient à la hauteur. Ce n'est pas le cas pour le Mitsui Garden Kawaramachi. Pourtant les hôtels sont tous les 2 des 4 étoiles....
