Breakfast was 1st Class, very well presented with a generous assortment. Service was very polite and approachable, the dining room was well set out and accessible. This property was very surpassing in my expectations Value for Money. I will certainly request a return when in the area.

Asked for an easy to access room for my mother who has limited mobility. Was given a double room right by the door with level access, grab rails in the ensuite, a walk in shower without a step, a plastic chair that could be moved into the shower so mother could shower sitting down. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast delicious.

Mostly everything was great. Only slight negative was that the single room for myself was uninspiring. But it had everything required for a comfortable night, so not that much of a negative really.

Mark is a friendly host and cooks a great hot breakfast. The guesthouse is in a great location in Thirsk. I went to see the James Herriot museum and everything was walkable. I used the community centre pool one night and it was an easy, safe walk. I took the train into York one day and it was a quick taxi ride or short walk. It's near a Tesco for snacks and lots of restaurants too. The room was very nice, clean with a nice bathroom and a window that opened. The guesthouse was quiet too.

The location was absolutely fabulous for the racecourse and the town centre. The hosts were welcoming and very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The guest house was very clean and spacious and thr breakfast was cooked to order

Brilliant stay. I was there for 7 nights, travelling from Geelongin Victoria, Australia. Mark my host was outstanding, friendly and cooks a wonderful breakfast just the way you like it. Nothing was a bother and his attention to detail was superb.

Can't think of anything l didn't like. Great location and perfect for what l was in town for.

Location was very good for us. Close to the centre and market place. Breakfast was very tasty and plenty of choice. The room was clean, only slight niggle was that for me the bed was a bit soft husband found the bed was perfect. Friendly and helpful staff.

As I have said above, bed was a bit too soft for me.

Mark is the perfect host- very welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect for walking into the market square and the free parking was a bonus. The full English breakfast cooked by Mark is exceptional! All staff were very friendly and polite too.

Room a little tired and noise from the road could bother some people. A fan was provided so no need to open the large windows.

Room was great, bed was the best ever, so comfortable and spacious. Mine host Mark could not do enough for us as wife blind, he made sure everything in the room was not moved. The waiting staff were do friendly and kept asking if we had enough breakfast, fantastic service. The proximity to town centre and a superstore right next door, brilliant. Off street parking. Room facilities tea's coffee biscuits refreshed each morning. There's nothing to dislike. Big thumbs up 👍.

Excellent location ideal for everything from visiting Thirsk and access to main roads for surrounding areas. Great breakfast cooked to order daily.

The owner met us in the car park and couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was lovely and the location was perfect.

The tiniest criticism was the shower took an age to warm up.

The host Mark is fantastic, pleasant, knowledgeable and loves to chat.

The room was extremely comfortable. It was clearly an accessible room, and it would certainly suit someone who uses a wheelchair. The bathroom and shower was wheelchair accessible. Full cooked breakfast available. I appreciated the decaf beverages as requested when booking.

We loved this place and the wonderful couple who own it. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a short walk to The World of James Herriot museum, the reason we came to Thirsk. The owner, Mark, went out of his way to check the train schedule and taxi service availability. The breakfast was delicious-I ate my first black pudding. To top it off, our hostess Nikki gave us a ride to the train station the next morning. A wonderful stay.

Easy check-in and everything was perfect for my stay.

The property was really clean and the location was ideal for the race course and the town centre. Breakfast was freshly made and served hot.

The proper is really tired and old fashioned. It smelled of cooking as the kitchen was mostly open to the rest of the house. The bedding was clean but needed replacing. The pillows, mattress and duvet were lumpy and heavy. There was mismatched furniture in the bedroom and the only hanging space was two hooks on the wall behind the door. The window blinds were broken and stained.

Mark went out of his way to guarantee we had a great stay in Thirsk and could enjoy the Dales. We came for the James Herriott house and experienced much more than expected. Loved Thirsk! Fine restaurants and history.

Ground floor accessible room with great shower. Terrific host helped with everything as personal problems cropped up. Huge breakfast with great choices.

The only thing was the bed size - it was a standard double not oversize as indicated in the reservation - but it didn't spoil our stay.

I was running late for the check-in as I had a delay, and the staff was incredibly helpful to accomodate me and wait for me.

The venue is perfect in my opinion for the price I paid.

Landlords are helpful and friendly beyond expectation. Super child friendly - my daughter received a giant chocolate Easter egg by Mark. Mark, as a former chef, prepared a delightful breakfast to your liking - the locally produced black pudding is a must. Nikki gave a lot of tips on where to go.

The central location (five minutes away from the town center) is also the only point on the not so positive side - the guesthouse is located next to a roundabout. If you do not care about the noise or if you have a room to the court, then it is okay.

Mark is the perfect host, amazing value for a room that has everything and breakfast. Breakfast consists of cereal, fruit juices, tea/coffee, toast and whatever cooked items from his list. Onsite parking only a few minutes walk from the market place.

Breakfast was fantastic, with locally sourced produce. The manager was very friendly and welcoming and I was upgraded to a double room which is always great, especially when it's on the ground floor! The room was clean and well maintained and the guesthouse was situated right in the centre of town.

Radiator was a bit of a struggle to get on but I was warned and they did provide a back up heater which worked well. The walls were also a little thin so there was a bit of noise from fellow residents.

Met with Mark the owner, he suggested that I park my bike away from the parking area so it was out of sight of the road. Breakfast was cooked to order I assume from local suppliers and at a time of your choosing. The location is ideal for exploring the North Yorkshire moors
