Lovely location in quiet area, but 10 minute walk to the beach. Comfortable bed and very spacious rooms. Very pretty garden and pool area. Generous breakfast and excellent scrambled eggs served on fresh white linen

Everything was fantastic , from the large spotless rooms , to the tranquil garden and amazing Owner and staff , I couldn't ask for more, a lovely breakfast overlooking the garden was a great way to start the day nothing was too much trouble thank you

No good options on-site during the evening means you really can't enjoy the lovely dinning room and you need to go to the main street by the beach

The property is a home away from home, comfortable clean and serene. The staff feel like family , and are happy to accomodate with any requests and needs. My daughter was very ill on arrival and the staff immediately looked after her from the kindness of their heart. We will always be grateful for this. The villa is a small oasis hidden in the back streets, away from tourists. It is quiet and the beds and pillows were the best we experienced all throughout our travels in Sri Lanka. Verena is a warm host, and makes sure that guests are doing well and checks in each day to see how you are.

Everything is amazing, the Villa itself so beautiful and dressed in French and European antiques. The room was spacious and had everything we needed and verandah with seating to watch the bird life and monkeys. The breakfasts were really good with several options and a lovely cup of the tea!! The pool and gardens are beautiful and clean with sun and shade. Location is peaceful and a 15 minute walk to the beach or depending on mood a tuk tuk.

Very helpful, cultural and engaged host, who helps and do everything to have relaxing and nice time in Hikkaduwa. Nice, comfort and clean villa offers various breakfast and optional, good quality and delicious dinner.

The property is beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable and exceptionally clean; the staff are extremely friendly and polite and eager to ensure you have an excellent stay. Great breakfast options and two delicious dinners- a curry night and a really delicious BBQ for 20 people towards the end of our stay where the team took extremely good care of us and our visiting friends. We used the villa as a base to explore Hikkauwa with other friends staying in the area and the security were very accommodating of our group returning at different times throughout the day and night.

The property is advertised as a private full villa however neither booking.com or the website mention that there are staff at the property 24/7, including the owner who lives there. Ultimately this wasn't a problem as Verena and her team go out of their way to ensure you have an excellent stay, however it does mean that the villa felt more like a small boutique hotel rather than the private space we were originally anticipating. We would still recommend Boutique Villa Shanthi as a wonderful stay but this could be made clearer on the website

Lovely comfortable house with a great garden, lovely pool, security and fully staffed with delicious food courtesy of chef - really no need to eat elsewhere. We ate some absolutely amazing meals. Tours were easy to organize and of high quality. The beach was 10 minutes walk away and was amazing. Evenings were pleasant and were enjoyed with a nice bottle of wine!

The only issue was that the host was so desperate for us to have a good time the attention occasionally felt a bit restrictive and occasionally overwhelming. Clearly they need timings, orders in advance, menu planning and certainties which are often challenging with the 6 young children in a group of 2 families! But it’s clear that it comes from a deep desire to provide an amazing experience!

Our stay was outstanding. The staff were attentive and made us feel vey comfortable. I would recommend to anybody to come to this place.

Very grand and spacious. Exceptionally clean and room was cleaned every day. Gardens and pool area beautiful and maintained to a high standard. Away from main road and traffic. Vereena very helpful, was a very relaxing stay. Best bed so far!

Breakfast was adequate for us but no choice to have a Sri Lankan breakfast. There was noise from neighbouring dog but that is something you cannot avoid in Sri Lanka.

I highly recommend this hotel for an exceptional experience. The staff is professional and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant stay. The food, both breakfast and dinner, is of top-notch quality. The spacious rooms provide a comfortable retreat, coupled with daily cleaning for a consistently tidy environment. What sets this hotel apart is the amazing owner, who invests her heart in ensuring guests have a truly memorable experience.

The food service was delicious. The facilities were exceptional and the staff were so helpful and courteous. The location was superb, close to the beach but secluded enough to relax.

Loved Villa Shanthi. The best accommodation on our 3 week trip. What an amazing property.The manager and staff were so friendly and attentive. The breakfast was exceptional with 3 choices of English. Continental and Sri Lankan.We had the English which came with freshly home cooked bread and our first taste of real bacon. We also had the best rice and curry for our last dinner prepared and cooked by the on-site chef. The location is set in behind the hustle and bustle of the main road only 8 min to the beach.Nestled in wonderful kept tropical garden with an immaculately kept swimming pool which was the best we came across on our travels.The actual building is old English with the feeling of space and grandeur from the beautiful downstairs living areas with its beautiful chandeliers and art work to the massive undercover balcony outside the upstairs rooms. It was a pleasure staying here and will surely come back.

Very good place to stay for one night or more. Rooms are very clean and confortable. Breakfast was excellent and the swimming pool is very nice and well maintained. Owner and staff very helpful and friendly.

Does not accept local Srilankha’s Rupees neither visa payment, this can be a problem for long stay or for groups.
