I really took time before I wrote a review because this property deserves a well-written review. The place is very quiet, clean, comfortable and the breakfast is superb! You can’t feel that you’re at the busy part of Puerto Princesa because it has a long driveway that isolates it from the noise of the road. It feels very homey, we loved the breakfast so much as we were expecting it was just a standard breakfast. No, it was a superb, well-prepared, big serving, delicious breakfast and I’m not exaggerating it (staycation is my thing so I know a good hotel when I see one haha). The staff are so nice and kind, always smiling and attending to our needs. They are very patient even when we brought kids who are a bit loud. The café has good food and is very quiet. The pool is well-maintained and fit for families as it’s not too deep. The design of the room and the amenities are not only aesthetically-pleasing but also functional which is rare in hotels nowadays. Our family stayed for two nights and three days, all is smooth and it really exceeded our expectations. I will definitely go back here soon.

The air conditioner in room 15 was too noisy,i suggest you get new air conditioners that are quiet.

The staff were really great, friendly and accommodating. The location is also good as it is not too close to the main road but near enough for a quick walk. It is close to a mall and several good restaurants. They also have a kid friendly pool which was a big plus.

We've stayed 4 nights but there were no cleaning services offered, no change in beddings, towels or even refill of toilet papers. We had to call and request for new towels as the ones initially provided got wet from the pool.

The window type air-conditioning is a bit old and loud.

The breakfast was not as expected. The juice was not juice, there was not milk included, not much options for sweet breakfast. The pool just decent. Room service upon request not standard.

The staff was so kind, willing to help and assist with everything. The rooms were really clean and we felt very comfortable. The hotel had great relaxed vibes, so we could really wind down and relax.

The hotel surroundings are lovely and also quiet too. Staff were friendly and did their best. To meet any requests you had.

Location etwas abgelegen aber nähe Hauptstraße. Einfach eingerichtet aber für 1-2 Nächte ok. Konnte leider kein Frühstück bekommen bei check out for 6am.

The room was not so spacious considering the price and the lock in our room was broken. The staff didn't say anything about it. I was expecting them for it to get fixed but no one has escalated it.

Air con not working having to go to reception every time when making bookings for remote control for TV, back window for shower room always. Left open 1 room didn’t have lock on it , so easy for someone to come Breckinridge into room, staff in general ok could stay more focused on costumers rather on mobile phones.

Southwind was very comfy and the staff were so lovely and helpful. The pool was big and refreshing, although there were only a few spots to sit around. The restaurant attached served yummy food, although, like everywhere in the Philippines seemed to only have 50% of the menu. The bed was really comfy and cosy with a good blanket.

There was some function on for two days out of 6 and very loud not relaxing at all. Started early in the morning till late afternoon. There is only three sun beds for the whole hotel when I asked for more they said there was only three. Meaning if more than one couple wanted to sit round the tool there was no seats available. The room was not cleaned once in 6 days and had to ask for fresh towels. We also had the food delivered to the room. Burgers etc are good and very tasty. This didn’t get cleared however for 2 days. The food is also not all of the time through the day and finished early depending on how many ask for food.

The room was quite small, but that’s ok as we didn’t spend much time in it. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Staff is very helpful. You can see like they do everything from the heart. Everything was perfect in this place 🙂

The location and space in the room

The pig farm must be somewhere next to it. You can smell it and there is a lot of flies. You can also hear it in the morning. There were 2-3 Russian families permanently living there making the place their own party… Russian music by the pool, men drinking and shouting from the morning. Restaurant constantly closed. Bathroom not too clean. Staff friendly but not thinking too much.

The Hotel offered a Restaurant, however standard drinks where not available and the restaurants kitchen was closed because the cook did not come to work. Very small and limited breakfast options. Swimming Pool was closed on the peak holidays for cleaning. Should have been better planned. Next to the Hotel is a venue tent (which belongs to the Hotel) with very noisy daily afternoon/night events.

Staff were late serving breakfast. It's scheduled from 6am. daily, and despite the notice from guests of early breakfast, noone's there - staff were late. The breakfast area was full of guests waiting from 6am with unset tables and breakfast was finally served after 50 minutes of waiting( 6:50am). We were rushed before our early flight.

While the Southwind outdoor area and swimming pool are well-maintained and clean, the rooms and service leave much to be desired.

We booked three rooms, all of which had old, noisy air conditioning units—one was broken, requiring us to switch rooms. Sleeping with the AC on was impossible due to the noise. The sheets were old and had holes, the tap was broken, and the overall condition of the rooms was outdated and in need of renovation. There was barely enough space for one suitcase to be laid out. The food served was cold, and no tea was available throughout our four-day stay. We ran out of toilet paper, and room service was not provided. Additionally, we encountered issues with transportation booking; the cost wasn’t disclosed beforehand and we had to pay the driver to the airport more than what we paid to get there. SouthWind Payment machine wasn't providing a receipt and they asked us to try to process the payment again whilst it showed payment pending on my credit card. They then requested we paid 40,000 Peso in cash! The manager called after 30mins and confirmed the payment went through.

Not enough place to hang towels, aircon not cool enough, loud and difficult to adjust, generator is too loud. The sink is stuck, toilet rag is too small to keep the floor dry. Hair blower is broke. Limited space. Making the room is upon request.

Everything. The pool was dirty. The toilet smelled like sewage. The room had ants everywhere and it was dusty and not clean. We had to call every time for housekeeping to clean and the housekeeping made it seem like a hard task to do and they were rude and not helpful in any way. The reception was ok but when we canceled a tour due to being sick, we were called several times from 6 am till 10 am to pay for a tour we didn’t go to and that we cancelled a day prior to the tour date. They insisted that we should pay but we didn’t because it was not fair so our sleep was disrupted either way during our stay. The breakfast portion was very little. The rooms don’t lock from the inside. Overall we hated the stay.

The provisions of the room were basic. There was no fridge. The shower didnt drain well apart from not having hot water (cold showers). The aircon was old and noisy.

The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Room was comfy and location was near food establishments and a mall. Their food at Dong Juan was very very good.

Weirdly, there's a lot flies outside which makes eating outside to enjoy the pool view uncomfortable. I suggest they add plants like eucalyptus or citronella to repells insects.

It was a convenient location to stay as it was close to the airport. Also, we went to the Puerto Princesa Underground River and to El Nido the following day and the location was a convenient distance for all the locations. Loved the outdoor pool.

Pretty lights, cute outdoor area. Beautiful friendly staff, supported our needs of a refund when asked. Very thankful.

For the price $170 a night, I would have expected basic amenities such as a kettle, tea/coffee to be supplied and a fridge. No this wasn’t the case. Shower was terrible, like a dribble of water. Aircons were loud and rattled hard. The restaurant was closed during our stay as they were catering for event. Difficult when you have children to feed and no fridge. Breakfast came out cold. Told the waitress she just nodded and did nothing to help. Floor tiles around pool were broken and I almost cut myself.
