The washroom has no fan.

The hotel is a close walk to downtown and the pathways, easy to find. Having a fridge was nice to be able to buy a few groceries.

The complimentary ear plugs might be for the train noise but that was honestly the least of the noise concerns. The ear plugs did little to cover all the noise coming from the shoddy construction. You can hear every person in the unit about walking around, the exterior stairs bang every time someone’s on them and the duct work clangs and taps all night long. The draft coming in around and under the door was freezing in September I can’t even imagine what it would be like in the winter. You can see a gap all the way around the door, it isn’t even sealed properly. The hot water would last 2-3 minutes before turning lukewarm and the complimentary conditioner was empty. There was smushed, dead bugs stuck to the walls and the kitchen cabinets. The tv remote was missing and the only redeeming part of the whole stay was the women at the desk who worked hard to find it. Any one of these things might not have been a deal breaker but for the exorbitant fee, it all added up to an incredibly disappointing stay

Loved the A/C in the room since there is no central A/C.

Staff at reception - excellent. Room was spacious. Next door is a great place for coffee and breakfast.

Had to use the lounge bed and it was super uncomfortable. A lot of noise could be heard from the occupant of the room above. Expensive in terms of value for money.

Appartement très propre, bien équipé et bien localisé pour accéder à toutes les commodités et centre ville de Canmore.

L’appartement est très bien équipé mais, il est hélas, très sonore, à proximité d’un côté de la voie ferrée et de l’autre, d’une artère très passante. La dernière nuit a été la plus compliquée avec l’arrivée d’une bande, autonome dessus de notre logement, ayant fait du bruit jusqu’à plus de minuit 30 et ont recommencé à partir de 5 heures du matin jusqu’à 8 heures 30. Cet établissement hôtelier est autonome, il n’y a pas de réception ni de surveillance, ce qui aurait pu empêcher ce genre de problème. C’est dommage qu’un logement de cette qualité ait ce genre de problèmes.

The location and price were good and we liked the view from the hot tub at night. Check-in and check-out were pretty seamless as well.

The pull-out couch bed sheet had weird stains on it and didn't seem like it had been cleaned, and the cover of the light fixture above the pull-out couch was almost falling off (which we fixed ourselves)

Cleanliness

Size of beds were full, although it was mentioned they are queen. Two queen beds were stacked up to make a bunk bed which weren't secured and could be easily moved. It creates a serious safety issue

Le nombre de salles de bains annoncé n'est pas réel. Nous étions 8, et avons réservé deux logements avec, normalement 5 salles de bains, nous avions au final 3 salles de bain et 2 toilettes avec lavabo, considérée comme 1/2 salle de bain au Canada mais pas pratique pour prendre une douche!!!

The hotel has a super, central location. The rooms were very clean. The unit was also well equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer.

It was nice to have AC, but the unit was quite loud.

Modern apartments with the comforts of home - laundry in the apartment was a bonus! We liked Canmore itself - quieter than Banff but still with lovely views and shops. There’s a convenience store near the apartments. Roof top hot tub was great.

Train line runs behind the apartments and a bit of a walk into the town centre.

It was clean cute place.it’s walking distance from the downtown. Easy to check in and check out . Close to begeles and coffee 🙂

Only issue was the air conditioner was too laud in the bedroom and living room didn’t have any it was hard to sleep in there.

It's a good place to stay. Good value compared with Banff and Lake Louise.

You are a bit of a walk from the supermarket and restaurants about 15-20 min. Grassi Lakes were closed whilst we were there and we didn't find walking at the Nordic centre very interesting.

earlier check-in... it is all computerized so it unlocked precisely at 1600 even though the unit was ready!

Really cool rooftop hot tub. Our unit was pet friendly and walking distance to downtown.

This didn’t bother us… but if you had knee issues or an older dog there are a lot of steep steps up into the unit and again in the unit to get up to the bedrooms.

The unit we booked was described as 6 bedrooms with 6 bathrooms with a bath, but it turned out to be just 4 bathrooms with 2 powder room (without bath/shower). The description was misleading and the actual accommodation didn’t meet the description. As we were 5 separate families staying at the 6 bedroom apartment, expecting a separate full bathroom (with bath/shower) for each family, it turned out that some families had to share shower which was disappointing. I contacted the property for this misleading information but the property only acknowledged the inaccurate/misleading details of bathrooms without responding to my request for monetary compensation for many days. Also, the description should mention the property is next to the railway tracks and there will be noise from trains til almost midnight.

1. I wish all the bathrooms had exhausts. Only the main floor bathroom had an exhaust. 2. It was too hot when we showed up. There were small ac units in bedrooms to compensate for it though.

The location was amazing. Close to super market, liquor store and bus stop.

I had to ask staff to change towels when needed. And cleaner came to our room before we left.

The parking is way to small. Nearly impossible to park a truck or larger SUV in the parking lot. The bed was probably one of the worst I’ve ever slept on. It says queen, but me and my 5 year old were so squished. There is so way it was even close to a queen size. We sleep on a double at home and have way more space than that. Hard as a rock as well. No body wash was in the container so had to go ask at the front for some. They refused any early check in, and don’t offer late check outs Apparently Left a day early to go home….

The condo was big enough for 8 people to be comfortable.

Every single bed had hair on the sheets from different people. The foaming wash was almost empty. When they send me the self Check in, they asked me if I needed linen for the sofa, I said yes, and was approved. However we needed to ask again at front desk for the linen. The person at front desk, wasn’t very friendly nor helpful.

Each and everything was good.. everything was clean and tidy..

Just the window was small so the view outside window wasn't good enough..

The place was tidy but not that clean. Walls and areas around light switches were all really dirty - one in bathroom had red streak on it, as did a wall in the kitchen. We had to do some spot cleaning in order to feel comfortable. The laundry area was dusty with used fabric softener sheets all around the area. There should have also been more supplies in the room, i.e. coffee, dishtowels, etc. (yes, we can always call the front desk and ask for more but we shouldn't have to if we're booked for more than 1 night). The parking lot spaces are really tight - even for a small vehicle. And realizing it is out of the resort's control, (hence the ear plugs they provide), still need to mention the train and traffic are quite loud and are a consideration when booking for next time.

Can’t control the heater and staff is on about the email they sent me a day prior to check in As I am very busy driving most of the day I obviously missed the email they sent. Also the hotel sent way too many messages and making the check in very stressful. Don’t like the approach from the staff and his hand writing is too hard to read.

I really loved everything about that hotel. I would say the only downside was regular check in is at 4pm (which they gracefully moved ahead of time due to a snow storm) and check out being at 11am, which felt a bit short. But they were nice enough to accommodate an earlier request so 10/10!

A brilliant stay in Canmore. The check in process for basecamp is smooth and hassle free with the code they provide. The staff check up by message and see if everything’s okay! The great location and how easy it is to get into the center of town!

Delighted it had a full kitchen! We’ll stay again!

Technology taking over hospitality

It was perfect for our last minute booking, the value, comfort, accessibility and location we great.

We had booked for 6 people and there was 2 bedrooms and a pull out couch, which we required to accommodate all of us, however we were very disappointed that pillows, sheets and blankets were not provided for the pull out and there was not enough towels for all six of us. Also the kitchen was only stocked with the bare minimum salt and pepper.

Rooms was poorly ventilated, cooking smells from previous tenant/neighbours was trapped in our suite and window was broken so we couldn’t air it out…

Room was not clean, smelled bad, bugs/worms in the bed, hair left on the counter and floors, counter had not been wiped and were full of dust, additional bedding given was stained yellow and brown, dishwasher also was moldy and all the dishes had been washed in it prior to our use….

Everything about the room, very poor cleaning practices. Building is also wood frame, very loud with upstairs unit and nearby train (runs till 2am)

We were staying at Basecamp Resort from December 31 to January 1, and we are writing regarding the hot tub closure during our stay. We understand that hot tubs may occasionally be closed due to maintenance, Alberta Health Services regulations, or weather conditions. However, we would like to clarify the specific circumstances of our stay, as our situation went beyond a standard or routine closure. The hot tub was the main reason we chose this unit and paid a higher price compared to other available options. We booked well in advance, on December 11. Unfortunately, we were only informed of the closure two hours before check-in, while already driving from Edmonton on New Year’s Eve — a four-hour drive — which left us with no realistic opportunity to change or cancel our plans. Additionally, upon arrival, we were initially told by staff that the hot tub was operational and ready to use. Later, we were contacted again and informed that it would not be available. We had hoped it might at least be functional the following morning, but were told it would not be. This conflicting information further affected our experience and expectations. Late December weather in Canmore is predictably below freezing, and ice formation is a known and foreseeable risk during this season. Had we been informed in advance that the hot tub might be unavailable due to these conditions, we would not have booked this unit.

One parking space was included in the payment for the order. All vehicle details were also provided. However, when we checked in on the day of arrival, we were given a room without parking. The room was poorly cleaned (209). It was also very noisy, with trains constantly passing by and something humming all the time. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

Thin walls.

Two story apartment with two bedrooms upstairs and full kitchen with a great dining area. We liked the outdoor hot tub and there was extra linen for the fold out couch.

The beds were ok. There were no dressers for clothes.

Convenient location, on a nice day it is walking distance into town centre. The bagel shop located on site is awesome, great value for the money.

The walls are thin, can hear everything in other units. It is also situated next to the train tracks so very noisy. There is only the one hot tub which is always full. Ventilation needs work, whenever we did laundry and the dryer is on, the whole unit got very humid to the point where there's condensation on the laundry room door. Stains on the sheets and couch, when brought up with front desk, they didn't address it, more so brushed it off.
