Patio area was beautiful Breakfast was very good Staff friendly Lovely bar/consetvatory Fab shower in room Smart tv was a bonus
Dinner menu was great, good variety and delicious. Great service too.
A friendy well appointed rooms Lovely location and accessibility.
Bar arra a bit sparse and music to loud Needs a refurbished more comfortable furniture
I felt the food menu was a little limited and quite expensive
For the price paid, breakfast could have been included
Large family room spacious and modern
Service door to the kitchen downstairs can be heard every time it opens and closes irritating repetitive noise
Very comfortable one night stay. Lovely dinner.
Beautiful spot, lovely restaurant
The bedroom was a bit hot - but it was a muggy night.
Excellent food and wine selection with the bonus of watching the chef in action.
The location was lovely and the food was very good
Good location for our overnight stay before travelling on for our holiday. Atmosphere was great , entertainment and friendly people and staff.
Just no hot water for a shower but that was a one off as the boiler broke.
The garden area
I was so disappointed after driving over an hour to get here we had NO hot water explains twice to the team, they kept saying 20 minutes and will be back on … ended up not being able to shower or bath before dinner or bed. We specifically chose the room with a bath and couldn’t even use it even paid more for the deluxe room!!! Then in the morning still NO hot water had to had a COLD wash, and then drove over an hour home without a shower or bath absolutely awful would not recommend or stay again
The staff were really welcoming and friendly. I had a lovely spacious room with a modern bathroom. Also, everything I needed in terms of bottled water, tea refills everday... Excellent value for money. Breakfast was lovely too.
Nothing.
Excellent value for money. Lovely location. Spacious accommodation. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. Our bedroom was a brilliant size and well decorated. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Only downside was on a sunny hot day it was really hot in our room. With only a small fan and no air conditioning to keep it cool it made sleeping uncomfortable. However, it was exceptional climate conditions and would not normally be an issue.
The meal was nice
The room was not what we expected after booking a premium room, 2 windows in the room, one with a broken blind so permanent down and the other window broken so couldn’t be opened. Bathroom very dark, recommend taking a torch in with you especially if you need to find anything. Shower was hanging off the wall but I managed to fix that. No spare toilet roll, no handwash, I’m assuming this was due to the staff not being able to see! Overall not a good experience and not what we expected after eating at the restaurant numerous times. We will definitely be finding somewhere else to stay when in the area.
Everything was good
The lighting in the bathroom was too dark making it difficult to shower. Maybe they need to look at air-conditioning going forward
Handy for the canal, clean and comfortable
Stylish venue , generous sized rooms, comfortable bed , well equipped ( except that my table lamp didn’t work and there wasn’t a fan ( and it was hot hot hot!!)
The big issue is that we didn’t feel valued as hotel guests , it was more of a pub focused venue…. We didn’t book directly either and so didn’t qualify for breakfast in the price , lesson learnt but ok fair enough maybe? BUT the paid for prices for breakfast were very inflated and we even had to pay for a cup of coffee in the breakfast area which felt outrageous! If we had known this before , we would have made our own coffees in our rooms which had kettles, tea & coffee etc and brought them downstairs to the breakfast room ! I did explain that we felt ripped off to the venue but they just smiled ! Also , our rooms overlooked the car park which was quite noisy with late goodbyes from pub clients and the car park lights were left on all night which shone into our rooms
Very neat and tidy - excellent staff , very welcoming. Breakfast and meals were top notch, Probably one of the best stays away we have had . Would not hesitate to rebook this place again . There obviously is pub noise that you can hear in your room if you have a early night , but this did not spoil our stay at all
Lovely location. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Nice dinner.
Breakfast was diappointing. Expensive for an average fry-up and I was astounded to have to pay extra for coffee. Cost of breakfast should include hot drink and choice of fruit juice (not offered). Also , service was slow. Rather diminished the overall experience.
The staff are brilliant
Nothing
It was really good. The room had everything we needed. We had drinks out on the patio when we arrived, great music in the background. We dined in the restaurant, great menu choices, great food and great service. Also excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
Location
Tv difficult to operate
Beautiful location, superior room was lovely with good facilities. Restaurant and garden area excellent.
Nothing that sticks out.
A lovely random find on booking.com Lovely hotel and restaurant All front of house staff were excellent, having the right balance between being very professional yet friendly. The kitchen and waiting staff worked really well as a team. Service was seamless. The food was delicious.
I had a lovely, well laid out room with hpt and cold drinks and biscuits. My room (11) was very warm overnight. Luckily, there was a fan provided, which I needed to keep on all night. This room is apparently quite a warm one, not helped by the warmer than usual weather at the moment. Perhaps an aircon unit for this room may be worth investing in.
Food good, spacious room, peaceful location. Possible to have a glass of Crement (nicer than chapagne and not easily available). Good place to split our drive to London. 2 NT houses nearby.
Rooms could be improved. Eg more comfy chairs or provide a sofa. Ensuite needed work.n
Location, outdoor area and the decor and quality of the rooms
Nothing
Almost everything. Fantastic place to stay, staff were amazing, room was great and food was the best we've had in a long time. The only slight issue was the heat in the room, but we completely understand that conditions like what we had are rare.
Other than the afformentioned, absolutely nothing, highly recommended.
Lovely stay with super welcoming staff and delicious food. Room was very comfortable and would definitely return!
The rooms were rather warm which was the only problem that was encountered whilst here.
The staff were welcoming, the service at dinner was good, the room was comfortable, very clean, and modern. The location and surroundings are very nice.
The food was disappointing, both in the evening and at breakfast. Breakfast is expensive for what it was and it wasn't clear that coffee wasn't included.
Ver clean and modern and comfortable
Slightly too hot in the room
Lovely bright and clean rooms with comfy bed
Sound proofing not great between rooms
Breakfast was excellent and NOT self service!
Quirkiness of the building was nice and inviting. Staff friendly and helpful. Had everything you needed in the rooms. Dinner at night and breakfast in the morning were fantastic using good quality ingredients. Compliments to the chef. Serving staff very attentive.
Handy location good food. Enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful decor and furniture, not cluttered but enough to not make it feel stark. There was a feeling of space
Everything
Nothing, everything was great
The room was clean and a good size! The more mature female member of staff stepped forward to recover the dismal service the young lady who greeted us had provided, (clearly embarrassed by the attention we were given,) she saved the day! At least for getting us to our room, but she left before dinner! A good breakfast! Plenty of parking space and close to the NEC! 20 mins...
The service was abysmal other than the more mature lady who stepped up! Greeted at the bar by a young girl who told us to go to another member of staff that was already busy and walked off with other customers! The same reluctant girl came across, asked our name & said you're room 11! No further guidance was offered, so I asked for directions to the room & asked if we needed a key? She pointed at a door to go through & said the keys in the room! At this point the older lady rapidly came across saving the day & seeing us to our room! We waited to be served at dinner was staff chatted amongst themselves, (more staff than customers!) With plenty of space in the dining room we were squeezed into a row of three tables to make it easier for the staff! Whilst the decor, and the presentation of the food was good, the food was tasteless, though we asked for no capers on the fish, it arrived with no sauce either, dry and also flavourless! It all tasted like pre packed microwaved food, but cant be sure, very disappointing given the media images and presentation! A drinks order was messed up, the lights went up and down due to an adjacent Party we had not been notified of, wanting dimmed lights for their disco, apparently the lights have to be on full in the dining area for the function suite to have dimmed lights can you believe! We left with hot heads! From the marketing we were expecting a fabulous meal, it was a disaster! When we got up to sign dinner to our room, we were told (despite having given our card details twice to book the table & separately for the room) that they had no way of charging it to the room as the systems weren't working, with cash only in my pocket I paid but wasn't given my change, it was automatically assumed to be a tip!
Room was excellent
Noisy hallway, but this is being very picky
Lovely large room and comfy bed

We stayed in the family room (room 5) Location, facilities & food was good, staff very helpful. Modern room.
Constant noise throughout the night from underneath is, maybe kitchen, like an extractor running, kept us awake on & off all night.
A nice building in a nice location. The bar and restaurant were very nice. The staff were very nice.
The room was far too hot due to there being a large hot water tank, for the building, in a cupboard in the room. There were no controls for the intended heating in the room. The lighting was not bright enough. The plug in the sink was missing. The heat made our stay uncomfortable and disrupted our sleep.
Location beautiful, very clean & the price was worth it . We didn’t go down to the bar for religious purposes but we knew it was a a pub guesthouse and it would be busy downstairs til 11pm but the location, cleanliness ,value for money and good manners was most important ,so for us ,it was a very good choice & their are good restaurants nearby if one prefers .
Everything was lovely.
The location
The manager behind the bar with the bald head was rude, with a bad attitude. Arrived back to have a night cap at 11.35pm I was asked by bar staff if I was staying there I said yes. Then the said manager told me he had taken the till off.dont advertise that you close at 12 if you close at 11.30. bathroom covered in mold, there was clearly a leak coming through the ceiling in the bathroom.
Some minor maintenance necessary in the room to bring it back up to standard. Breakfast was expensive - no option for cafetière or second cup of coffee (without paying for a second cup), and the room was cold unfortunately.
It was a really lovely chilled vibe, I felt really at home and comfortable in the hotel The food was great and good value for money we had 2 lovely meals The room was comfortable and clean The staff are professional and friendly and did anything for you
The room was so noisy , we were above the kitchen so sleep really disrupted which didn't help the 4 hour drive home the next day. There were doors below the room being slammed so hard the bed shook. there was a loud hum from below that stopped only to be replaced with another noise that didn't stop . Had we been there more than 1 night we would have had to ask to be moved. Having said that this was the only issue and we would return no problem just in a different room
Decent room size including bathroom. Relaxing decor.
Unclear as to whether or not breakfast was included.
Gem of a find. Parking available and easy, lovely restaurant food, delightful room with great bathroom. Definitely recommend and 100% would use again.
Welcoming staff. The room was spacious and warm, nice decor!
We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a decent experience, but there were a few maintenance issues that stood out. The shower door came off its rail when we tried to use it, and there was a bit of mould in the shower tray. The hot water tap was also extremely stiff and difficult to turn off. The TV kept flickering and only worked properly after we fiddled with the plug. The room itself was clean, but the blanket at the end of the bed could definitely do with a wash. We could also hear doors opening and closing from the pub below, which may bother light sleepers. The window in our room was broken and couldn’t be opened — not a major issue in colder months, but something to be aware of. With these maintenance issues sorted, the stay would easily have been a 9/10
This place is a hidden gem. It's so friendly, clean and so professional. The staff are amazing so welcoming. The atmosphere is great, the room was beautiful and we had the best nights sleep. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and were truly so lovely. Would definitely go again and recommend!
Everything perfect A*****
Nothing everything was excellent
Lovely room, quiet location, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent
Slight issue with the heating. But staff were helpful & keen to offer alternative options.
Didn’t have breakfast but the evening meal was very nice. Service was good and staff pleasant
Bar area was none discript and lacked atmosphere, also cold
Nice venue polite staff, evening meal good
Roomy smelt of sewage on arrival
What a gem! Comfy, comfortable room really nicely appointed Fabulous food
A unit/ shelf in the bathroom to put wash bag on would be helpful, but this is minor and wouldn’t put us off booking again
Good sized room, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The bar and restaurant are very stylish and the food delicious.
It would be useful to have some addiional lighting in the bathroom amd a full length mirror in the room.
Had dinner and breakfast, both excellent quality, service was also very good
Cant think off anything i could complain about . very happy customer.
Staff were friendly and professional the meals we had there very good and the room was very clean and comfortable.
Room was excellent, dinner was excellent, staff freindly and knowledgable. Top place. Didnt have breakfast which was probably a mistake.
Breakfast wasn’t included which seemed a shame as it would have been a better valued price.
Didn’t feel that welcomed - sounds silly but was shown room, no key given and just felt very transactional.
Great staff and lovely location good food and really nice room
Excellent
