Die zentrale Lage in der Altstadt war sehr schön, der Stadtstrand schnell und gut erreichbar. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Die Räumlichkeiten waren beeindruckend.

Die Sauberkeit in Bad und Dusche hätte etwas besser sein können, war aber insgesamt o.k. Die Parkplatzsituation war für uns, durch Rollstuhl etwas schwierig, was aber nicht am Hotel lag.

Lanterne Magiche está ubicado en un edificio grande y muy bonito en pleno centro histórico de Ortigia, en el antiguo barrio judío. La ubicación es excelente: está a pocos pasos del solárium de Ortigia y muy cerca de las principales calles y puntos de interés del centro. Estuvimos 3 noches. La habitación que nos asignaron era amplia aunque estaba ubicada prácticamente a nivel de subsuelo, por lo que resultaba bastante oscura y tenía muy poca luz natural. El principal punto negativo fue que el wifi nunca funcionó durante nuestra estadía, a pesar de que lo reclamamos, y el problema no llegó a solucionarse. Tampoco funcionaba correctamente la conexión del televisor. El desayuno estuvo bien, aunque nos pareció bastante sencillo. Un consejo: pidan el café espresso directamente a las chicas que atienden el desayuno, porque es muchísimo mejor que el café que dejan preparado en la jarra. En resumen, destacaría especialmente la excelente ubicación y la amplitud de la habitación, aunque hay algunos aspectos del servicio y las instalaciones que podrían mejorar.

Perfect location. Steps away from Solarium Forte Vigliena where you can swim below the city walls. Small room as it is in a historic building. Was comfortable tho. We had a terrace overlooking the water and was able to see the sunrise.

Cleaning staff could be more attentive. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful and took feedback well. It was not a showstopper.

오르티지아 섬의 구시가지 한복판에서 숙박할 수 있어요. 해수욕할수 있는 곳이 바로 앞에 있습니다. 취사가 가능합니다. 조식은 간단하지만 깔끔하고 괜찮아요.

무료주차가 불가능해요. Talete 주차장에 1일 15유로를 내고 주차해야하는데, 장기 숙박이라면 약간 부담되는 가격입니다. 그리고 공영주차장 자체는 시에서 관리를 잘 안해서 좋지는 않구요. 바닥 청소에 조금 더 신경썼으면 좋겠어요.

La ubicación es magnifica en Ortigia. Está muy cerca también de una zona de baño. El apartamento era grande, de dos plantas y estaba bien equipado. Todo estaba muy limpio. El desayuno era abundante y variado.

Great hotel. Room was clean, very comfortable, and spacious. Our room was a suit with 3 beds and had a small kitchen, which was very convenient. We had sea view, which was a very nice treat. Breakfast was great with great service. Location was great, one block away from the sea where there is sea access to take a bath or sun bath. They have a convenient valet parking. Reception staff was great. Both Alessandra and Gabriela were very helpful and provided assistance to get around. We were a family of three and had a great time. I highly recommend it.

El hotel esta super bien ubicado, en el centro histórico y a un paso del paseo hacia el mar. El desayuno muy rico. La chica de recepcion muy agradable. No lo publicitan con parking porque no lo tiene, pero hablando con el alojamiento te gestionan un servicio de recogida del coche.

Location is fabulous! Right in the heart of the cobbled streets. Me, my husband and our daughter (19) stayed for 7 nights. We used it as a base to venture further afield too but if you’re just visiting Ortigia then 2-3 nights is plenty. The hotel is clean , staff are helpful but rooms could be equipped better. A plug socket near a mirror, apart from bathroom or just a mirror in the bedroom would be good, just made things tricky on an evening when three of us are trying to get ready. Roof terrace is nice. Breakfast isn’t great but if you’re just after a pastry and coffee (although you have to make a point of asking for a cappuccino) then it’s fine. Ortigia itself is just beautiful. So many restaurants and just stunning views and the cobbled back streets are lovely. We did a food tour which was great fun, highly recommend. We travelled by train to Noto and Taormina, trains were on time, clean and air conditioned. We also had a chilled day at the beach club in ortigia which was a nice break. All in all would totally recommend ortigia and the hotel , mainly for its location

Great communication from the hotel prior to our arrival, was very helpful and appreciated. It was my birthday on the day we arrived, so they gave us a bottle of Prosecco , which was a lovely touch It is a charming building which felt truly Italian and was in a super location to discover the area. The staff were very helpful and especially the ladies at Reception, who went out of their way to give us recommendations for places to visit or great restaurants We loved Ortigia and and definitely recommend staying here

My wife and I stayed at Lanterne Magiche Ortigia Suites in Room 2 from May 24–28, 2026. Before the incident described below, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent, and we initially had a very positive impression of the property. Throughout our entire stay, the in-room safe functioned normally. However, approximately one hour before checkout on May 28, I was suddenly unable to open it using the same code that I had successfully used during our stay. I have used hotel safes for many years and have never experienced a similar issue. Because we were scheduled to depart, our entire group of six travelers, along with our driver, was forced to wait outside the hotel while a technician was called to open the safe. This unexpected delay disrupted our departure plans and was witnessed by multiple people. The technician eventually opened the safe, and we continued our travels. The following day, after arriving at our next destination, we discovered that a bracelet that had been stored inside the safe was missing. We also discovered that cash (euros and U.S. dollars) was missing from my wife's handbag that had remained in the room. The total value of the missing property was approximately $550. What has been even more disappointing than the loss itself has been the hotel's handling of the situation. During our trip to Italy, we stayed at five different hotels. Every other hotel followed up after our stay with a thank-you email and a guest satisfaction survey. Lanterne Magiche Ortigia Suites was the only hotel that did not. After discovering the missing items, I attempted to contact the hotel through its website's Contact Us form. I later learned that the form was apparently not functioning properly, and hotel representatives stated that they never received my original message. This alone raises concerns about how guest communications are handled. When I finally reached the hotel directly, I was told that the matter would be forwarded to management. Despite the seriousness of the complaint, I have yet to receive any meaningful response, explanation, or indication that an investigation has been conducted. I understand that incidents can occur at any property, and I was willing to give management the opportunity to address my concerns. Instead, I encountered a non-functioning contact form, communication issues, delays in responding to a serious complaint, and a lack of transparency regarding what happened. Taken individually, these issues might be explainable. Taken together, they create too many red flags for me to ignore. What makes this especially disappointing is that we genuinely enjoyed our stay and would have preferred to leave a positive review. Unfortunately, the combination of a safe that unexpectedly stopped working shortly before checkout, missing property discovered immediately afterward, and the hotel's failure to communicate effectively has left us with serious unanswered questions. I can only share my experience and allow future guests to draw their own conclusions.

I must be in a different hotel tomorrow other reviewers. I am in a room where ref only natural light is a small window which I can't leave without curtains because it's ground level. NO tea/ coffee making facilities because they outsource catering. Long day of travelling and no cup of tea? I don't like s kitchenette in my room which is supposedly 4*. A holiday company booked this - i would not have booked it myself. I have stayed in superb hotels in Sicily without 4*s.

Great location and fantastic room. We stayed in the Louise Suite and it was 3 floors of awesomeness. The hotel staff was great too and allowed for early check-in. Just know there are no cars allowed near the hotel so you’ll have to walk with luggage and there are also quite a few stairs in the sprawling hotel so be sure you are able to lift your luggage.

Hotel was easy to find and they provided us with several parking options. We chose a covered parking with a per day rate. The hotel check in process was simple and our room was very clean and had an outstanding view of the Mediterranean Sea. The breakfast provided each morning included American style scrambled eggs and bacon. When we first entered our room there was no toilet paper in the room but the reception staff provided us with rolls. The room was very well maintained and the maid service was good. Very nice hotel and we enjoyed our 2 nights there.

Location is exceptional for exploring with many shops, restaurants & sights right on the doorstep. The cinema room & theme downstairs is an interesting unexpected touch & the roof terrace in May (with no one else on it) was a perfect sun trap escape.

Ensuite bathroom was a bit claustrophobic & the living room was a bit uncomfortable (sofa bed). Also the cleaning service seemed to vary in attention to detail across each day e.g. toilet paper not replaced, only one towel changed & Rubbish not always taken.

Location was excellent. Front desk staff was great.

Unique and beautiful, a large rambling property tucked away in the honey coloured narrow streets just a few metres from the seafront. Spacious and very comfortable suite and access to a lovely roof terrace we largely had to ourselves. Nice breakfast and friendly helpful staff.

We stayed here for four nights in Ortigia in April. The Lanterne Magiche has it all. Gorgeous spacious rooms all with private outdoor spaces, exceptionally clean and private, lovely breakfast with attentive and charming staff, a cinema on site, beautifully restored historic building perfectly located between Duomo & the loveliest part of Ortigia seaside & a hidden gem, the deserted and oh so elegant roof terrace. Every corner of the hotel is a delight. I’ve not slept so well on holiday for years!

Sehr kleines Bad, Frühstück eher dürftig. Zu viele süße Speisen, Tomaten als einziges Gemüse. "Amerikanischer" Kaffee war nicht gut. Auch nicht besonders sauber (Handtücher waren teilweise schmutzig), Waschbecken hatte noch die Seifenflecken der vorherigen Gäste. Ziemlich hässliche eiserne Beistelltische neben dem Bett (rostig!). Preis-Leistung hat nicht gepasst.

The hotel is modern and comfortable. The breakfast was buffet style and had a big selection. The location is within the historic center and they have a car service that take your car and avoid the ZTL zone for $25 a night.

We had reserved two rooms with double beds, but because my reservation said 2 people instead of 4, they demanded $40 per person suplemental for the towel and breakfast. So we ended paying 80 euros for 2 breakfasts and 2 towels. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. I don’t recommend the hotel.

it was a small duplex, so we left the suitcases upstards in the mini kitchen, and slept downstairs. a bit small, but manageable.

Our apartment was spacious, clean and had a small balcony overlooking the historic, narrow pedestrian street. We appreciated the washing machine and kitchenette. Breakfast was good too!

We were a group of 11 and all loved this place. It is in a great location, the rooms are large abs comfortable. The elevator was essential for us and it worked perfectly, we were able to get it on the ground floor. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We took advantage of the valet parking, the property registered our plates so that we could enter the ZTL zone.

The property itself was very nice. It’s a large hotel with many different sections. The ac worked great. There was a nice balcony on the 2nd floor for all the occupants use that was delightful. Although, they don’t want you to put up the umbrellas because of the wind, and it is quite sunny up there. The breakfast was included and was a typical hotel breakfast, scrambled eggs, bread, pastries and fruit. There is an elevator in the building as it’s been renovated, so access to the rooms is nice. The staff were nice and someone is at the reception desk from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. We liked the location as everything seemed to be no more than a 15 to 20 minute walk.

The room was clean but felt somewhat barren. The bathroom could use a shelf and a few more hooks for towels and things. The major down side to this hotel is the parking. It is in the old section so getting your luggage to the hotel is challenging and then you have to park the car in a parking garage and walk approx. 15 minutes uphill to the hotel. This is not unusual for hotels in the old city but it could be problematic for anyone with mobility issues. They charge 5 euros for a beach towel if you want to go swimming, there is a swimming platform close by.

The location was great. Close to the sea and many shops and restaurants. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was big and the bed was comfortable.

The property is lacking in quality maintenance. The shower needs recaulking and the drain was so slow that we had to turn off the water mid-shower to let it drain or it would have overflowed onto the floor. The freezer needs defrosting. The building had no water for a few hours one evening. The breakfast was just mediocre. Terrible coffee. This hotel is listed in the Rick Steves guide and seems overpriced for the lack of quality. We would not recommend

Lovely hotel in the centre of historical Siracusa. Location was very good, rooms were spacious and well equipped. If breakfast not included was very expensive to book separately at 25euros pp. We went the first week of October and was still 25 degrees and rooms were very hot. I couldn’t get air con to work and was told by receptionist that it had been turned off for winter .. although still 25 degrees, I asked if it could be turned back on and was told no, it was October and to open a window if I was hot! I would have opened a window but our room only had one window that opened onto a brick wall so no air was going to enter and also there were a lot of mosquitoes! I asked for a fan - no fans. 3 days passed and it became unbearable in the room so I queried again at reception….only to be told that actually the air con had been turned back on 2 days ago but no one had the decency to inform us despite querying and seeing the same receptionist every day ! So communication from the staff could be improved! Overall we enjoyed our stay as Siracusa is a beautiful location.

This was a nice hotel with an ample buffet breakfast. Our room was comfortable, but not well appointed. The location was good. We were able to walk everywhere. The parking is very inconvenient and when we left our car for a moment to bring our luggage into the hotel, we were given a 29 euro ticket. There is no help in moving your luggage. We thought it would have been nice to have someone from the hotel watch the car until we got our luggage situated. The receptionist shrugged her shoulder when we told her about the ticket. The evening receptionist showed some sympathy. We would not recommend the hotel if you are arriving by car.

Room was small, but clean. Most surprising was that for a standard room, there were windows that opened to a wall, only 2 feet away!!! With a window looking down to our room, so we had to keep the shutters closed. Quite stifling. We didn't expect a water view, but it just felt like a closet.

The building was beautiful and full of character. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. It was close to bars, restaurants and shops. The valet parking was well worth the $25 Euro particularly after a long day of driving. I would happily stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip and we got this huge loft style apartment room which was super cool! They had left us some treats which was very nice :) The hotel is about a 2 minute walk from the swimming access point which is amazing. They charge 5 euros per beach towel if you want to rent it, and have a mini fridge stacked (with extra charges) of drinks. The service was amazing! One feedback is the breakfast was repetitive, it would be cool to see some more options for hot foods (for example: sausages, omelettes, etc. Overall it was a great stay and the hotel is like an amazing maze its huge and exciting to explore!!

This place is beautiful! It’s near everything and the breakfast was amazing. It was quiet and there’s a terrace that’s fun the hangout. Staff was also really nice Would definitely stay here again if I ever visited.

We loved this hotel. It was in a great position for the public solarium and for a variety of restaurants and cafes. The service was very good from the reception to the cleaning. Our room had a balcony with table and chairs and a sun lounger plus there was a great sun roof terrace with very comfortable seating . There is a lift to the top floors which not all hotels have in Sicily. The breakfast was good and offered a huge variety of foods.

A lovely building with a great roof terrace to watch the sunset. Staff were really friendly and coordinated a valet pick up for our car on arrival which worked out great. The staff were very friendly. The property was centrally located in the old city. The breakfast was plentiful with scrambled eggs, cereals, pastries etc.

Our room was not a 9 as indicated in other reviews. We had room #2 and it was very tired. The bedroom and bathroom were in the lower part of the unit and there were chunks of plaster missing in the stairwell. The shower insert was not clean around the floor. When we flushed the toilet either the sink or the shower drain would gurgle loudly.

This 'apartment' was located in an ideal area - within a 8-10 minute walk from the city center. No frills (which is totally ok with me) -- located on a pedestrian street so definitely no parking at hotel, however, parking garage located within a couple of blocks and $25 euro/day so they were able to accommodate us. Staff was helpful (recommended one of our favorite restaurants on this vacation!) and was clean!
