Arugambay Roccos

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre chambre avec vue sur la piscine qui d’ailleurs est très agréable. L’océan en bruit de fond est magique.

La salle du petit déjeuner n’est pas très chaleureuse ni confortable.

Nos gustó que tuviera acceso directo a la playa y duchas para cuando vuelves, ya que hay muy pocos lo tienen, hamacas privadas y una piscina Infinity con vistas al mar. Muy buena ubicación y muy rico el desayuno.

Las imágenes no coinciden del todo con el lugar, parece estar rodeado de césped pero en realidad es arena todo por lo que entra mucha arena en la habitación y es algo incómodo. Necesita una mano de limpieza y mantenimiento.

Really nice rooms, comfortable beds, clean rooms. Great location right on the beach and very close to great restaurants and bars. Despite being so close to bars etc or is still very quiet for sleeping. Staff are all very friendly and the grounds are really well maintained

The only negative is the bathrooms could do with a little refresh but it's not major. Due to sandy location would be ideal to have the rooms brushed out daily. However the staff do clean on the same day upon request so this is ok

Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Als je vraagt om schoonmaak wordt het meteen geregeld. Prima ontbijt, maar eenvoudig en niet veel keuze. Ligging is perfect op het strand en alles dichtbij. Zwembad is heerlijk.

The location of the property was fantastic sitting right on the beach. You were also right in the heart of the main area for shopping and eating.

For the cost of the property it was lacking some basic facilities such as a small fridge in the room, regular change of towels, cleaning of apartment, quality breakfast kitchen facility

Rocco's is in a great location, right on the beach and within easy walking distance of plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars. Arugam Bay itself is fantastic, and it's easy to wander out for a meal or drink at any time.

Unfortunately, the accommodation didn't live up to the price. We're paying around AUD $350 per night for a beachfront room, and honestly, the beachfront aspect adds very little. The ocean view is minimal, and I don't think our experience would have been much different staying a couple of blocks back from the beach at a significantly lower cost. The rooms are very basic and lack some amenities you'd normally expect at this price point. There isn't even a small fridge in the room, so you can't keep drinks cold. The staff are happy to store items in their fridge, which is appreciated, but it's not particularly convenient. Breakfast is included, but we chose not to eat there. The dining area is a concrete-floored room with glass windows and little atmosphere. It feels functional rather than welcoming and lacks the character you'd expect from a beachfront property. The pool is fine, but there is no pool bar, and many of the poolside and beachfront lounges have seen better days. Some are broken, and the cushions are worn and tired. Overall, the staff have been friendly and the location is excellent, but the property feels overpriced for what it offers. At AUD $350 per night, we expected a more polished, resort-style experience with better facilities and attention to detail. For the current price, the value for money simply isn't there.

Location. Location. Location. Direct beach access, and only property on the stretch with a pool. Casual walk to surf point, or a sweet swim there with goggles on in the morning. Fabulous restaurant right next door too.

Air conditioning units were very noisy and distrusted sleep.

The location, the stuff, the atmosphere...it was perfect and I truly recommend it.

The property was dirty, linen such as bedsheets and towels were threadbare and looked like they needed a good bleach, rooms were terribly small and dark. Noisy with all the bars nearby. Pool was not maintained to standard, there was lots of algae in the tiles. Bird crap everywhere. We did not enjoy our stay here.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing the perfect place to relax after a day out in Arugam Bay. We also loved spending time by the pool, which was well-kept and offered a great space to unwind and enjoy the resort’s peaceful atmosphere. We had a wonderful stay at Rocco's in Arugam Bay. The views are absolutely stunning, creating the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The pool was refreshing and beautifully maintained, making it a great place to unwind after a day in the sun. What truly made our stay special was the staff. One of the highlights of my trip was spending time at the famous Arugam Bay Main Point, where I enjoyed the waves and even managed to catch a ride with what felt like the perfect surf posture, a moment that made the experience especially rewarding. Although I stayed for only three nights, the experience was so enjoyable that I genuinely wished I could have stayed longer. Combining great service, a vibrant coastal setting, Arugambay Roccos is a place I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Arugam Bay. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Check in was seamless and they welcomed us with fresh pineapple juice which was a great touch after the drive. The beach beds were a highlight, spent most of the afternoon just lying there watching the waves. AC was working perfectly which matters a lot in Arugam Bay heat. Compared to other places in the area, the value for money here is genuinely hard to beat, especially with breakfast included.

Right in the heart of Arugam Bay with everything walking distance, Roccos somehow still feels like a proper resort once you're inside. The pool facing the beach was the highlight, we went from beach dips straight back to the pool and never got tired of it. Staff were great, gave us solid tips on where to visit and we ended up having a brilliant morning surf session at Peanut Farm!!

The staff were very welcoming and accomodating. The room was clean and adequate, met my needs. Out of season so was nice and peaceful and the pool was there if you wanted a dip. Short walk to the poo t for a surf and everything in town easily accessible. Overall a great experience.

At first glance on Booking and Expedia, the photos suggest a luxurious boutique stay, but the reality did not match. For the price, the standard felt closer to a budget hostel. The bathroom was grubby, with only one towel each, no hand towels, and a floor towel that needed replacing. Fixtures were old, with rusty shower heads and taps, and there were cracks in the walls. Rooms were sparsely furnished and the kitchen/restaurant area looked unclean, with staff often sleeping in view of guests. Housekeeping was poor. The cups from our welcome tea stayed on our balcony for the entire stay, and the doors were shabby, some not closing or locking properly. The pool umbrellas were worn, stained with bird droppings and full of holes, not a pleasant view from the balcony. There were positives. The location is ideal, right on the beachfront, and the staff were friendly, offering free breakfast each morning. However, with so many inviting cafés nearby we chose to eat elsewhere. What disappointed most was the gap between the photos and the reality. If it had been advertised as a hostel I would not have minded as much, but the presentation and price raised expectations it could not meet. With a deep clean, basic maintenance, fresh paint, and small touches like new linens and working locks, the property could quickly improve. For now, the location is its strongest feature, but the care and detail expected for the price are lacking.

Le rapport qualité prix, c’est un peu sur quoté pour un 3 étoiles même si je reconnais que nous n’avons pas grand chose à redire hormis les infrastructures en pas super état et un petit dej sommaire, le reste est quand même tout à fait satisfaisant

- la localisation est parfaite. - le personnel est adorable et disponible - l’accès à la plage

- l’hôtel manque d’entretien sur les infrastructures (chambre vétustes, douche, les transats etc) - la piscine n’a pas été disponible pendant l’ensemble de notre séjour, nous l’avons appris à notre arrivée. Une piscine d’un hôtel à côté à été mise à disposition mais elle n’était pas à la hauteur de celle de notre hôtel. Aucune réduction n’a été appliquée, la piscine devait être prête au bout de 48h.

Location wise its perfect right by the beach and in the middle of all the bars and restaurants.

I regret to say that the overall experience was quite disappointing. Considering the price and the claim of being a "luxury" establishment, the rooms were surprisingly basic, even falling short of budget standards, with uncomfortable mattresses, pillows, and unpleasant odors in the restrooms. Furthermore, the pool facility, which was a key factor in our booking, was not operational during our entire three-day stay. We feel that the pricing is not justified, and perhaps Booking.com should conduct more thorough evaluations of properties before setting rates. This was an extremely disappointing experience that significantly impacted our vacation after traveling a considerable distance for a beach getaway.

Rapport qualité/prix, sans doute le pire d’Arugam Bay. Avec ma copine, Notre séjour était prévu pour 5 nuits, nous sommes restés que 2 nuits dans ce logement. À moins de 200m à la ronde on trouve des choses moins chères et avec un bien meilleur standing. L’accueil très froid dans un hall d’entrée très low cost. A l’image de tous le terrain autour des chambres. Des objets traînent, l’endroit paraît très mal entretenu. La piscine inutilisable et dangereuse, une couleur qui a viré au vert tout au long de la semaine. Concernant la chambre : aucune isolation sonore, les rideaux ne sont même pas occultants à 100%, la salle de bain, après une douche seulement dégage une odeur très forte, sans doute due à l’évacuation des eaux. Bref, cet endroit, s’il était à 40 EUR/nuits, n’aurait rien à redire. Cependant, aujourd’hui, il est au prix de très bon logements de la zone sans en proposer le même niveau de qualité. Je ne le recommande pas du tout.

The room was very dirty and smells like mold, the toilet seat was broken, the door couldn't be closed without locking it, the pool was full of green and stinky water, the bed sheets were dirty, the shower ceiling and walls were moldy... The pictures in booking are not the reality of this place. we do not recommend this place to anybody! We cancelled our nights there the moment we found a better place to go to on such short notice. A nightmare of a place, also it was not cheap, there are much better and cheaper hotels to stay in arugam bay

Best place in arogam,! Great location,close to every thing but quiet, very helpful and caring staff, who made our stay here the best ever. Very nice rooms and beautiful pool right on the beach will come again for sure

Дверь номера скрипела, не было душевых принадлежностей. Для шезлонгов мягкий матрас отсутствовал, или был не очень приятный к использованию. Цена при бронировании была одна, а по факту списали на 200$ больше. Почувствовала себя обманутой, очень неприятный осадок

We were 2 couples that stayed at Roccos for 2 1/2 weeks. Beautiful pool area, excellent service and really good food! We had breakfast included and tested all the tasty Sri Lanka dishes. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at Roccos if/when we return to Arugam Bay <3

The hotel doesn’t look like the photos that were advertised. Lots of distributions including very loud music until the early hours of the morning. No change of facilities or cleaning of the rooms. Very overpriced for what it was.

Unfortunately, I ended up with bed bug bites and one of the staff said he could change the mattress, then the manager said they were ant bites not bed bugs and that they didn't have bed bugs. Consequently the mattress wasn't changed. However, I know what bed bug bites look like, two or three in a line and these were definitely bed bug bites. So that was a bit disappointing.

Amazing location with the best beach spot. Dogs at the property are a bit annoying and invades the privacy of guests. Staff were simply amazing. Food takes ages to prepare. Property is right on the beach with amazing access. Location was just a hot spot. Pool was basic but it was fine. Not clean, Washroom clogs up all the time with blocked drain. Dogs are a menace and invades the privacy. I could not enjoy my stay and relax. Basic rooms and facilities. Kitchen is very slow.

The staff were friendly and lovely. Unfortunately, the place was not great. We had no WiFi and the rooms were not that clean. Lots of dust under the bed and old sheets. They had dogs all over the property and there were two dogs that would chase people walking along the beach. No curfew at the pool and all the rooms face the pool. I was up past 10:30 listening to people in the pool. No kettle, tea or coffee in the rooms, but the staff did make tea for us and we did not get charged for it. If the rating was just on the staff I would give it a 5.

Niente da dire per il direttore gentile e aprensivo ,ma il resto terribile ,abbiamo dormito una dola notte ,poi ci siamo spostati in un altro hotel sempre di loro proprietà, leggermente meglio,poi abbuamo deciso di andare via ,scelta azzeccata,abbiamo deciso di girare lo sri lanka da nord a sud....

The reservation office person (Lady) was terrible, I talked to her for some details and information, she was very rude. I hope she will improve the service better. The bathroom has big molds.

Everything else...all the photos in the gallery is fake..not clean at all.. whole room smell like poop..bed sheets, pillows, walls had marks. Very bad experience. Booked for 2 days without knowing the status of the rooms... very bad... next day we checked outed and they didn't even say anything or do a refund... paid cash at the property...

The location plan near the beach which is attractive. Since this is off season the beach is not that attractive, however there are other places like safaris are available in the surrounding.
